Heroes Bar & Grill in Bolton

Sexual activity in the toilets, drug taking, violent and aggressive customers with thuggish behaviour, very loud and rude staff ignoring customers. Male and female staff more focused on mobile phones, male staff has a BO problem. All in all a very disappointing experience, no food available, so not really a 'bar and grill'. We will not be going there again.

Soy un pensionista y llamé sábado noche en mi camino a casa de una función... gran error.. Me jostled por matones borrachos que tomó excepción a mi vestido con un traje y corbata.

Una experiencia que no desean repetir. Busca en los comentarios anteriores, pensé que habría una agradable noche en aquí. Mal! Al entrar en enseguida nos sentimos que estábamos no bienvenidos - de hecho dijo el aspecto sobre "camareras" da todo. Nos preguntaron si queríamos comer arriba y ver la habitación nos sorprendió gratamente. La habitación está bien presentado, sin embargo, nos preguntó si queríamos ver algunas chucherías que eran exhibidos en un extremo de la habitación? Tuvimos nuestra elección de mesa, ya que éramos los únicos comensales. El menú era delicioso y nos informaron de que el black pudding no estaba disponible, no es un problema, no espero que tienen de todo. Pedí el queso Camembert frito con mermelada Currant rojo y la tarta de los héroes. Mis amigos ordenados y ajo de cóctel de gambas setas seguido de sobresaliente con huevo y piña. Nos dijeron que no tenían piña con un grito de fondo- sin huevos! Una de las camareras luego abrirse un armario y comenzado a arañar alrededor en el fondo de una exuberante que me he encontrado! Así que al menos mis amigos podría esperar un anillo de piña. Recibimos antes de empezar, cóctel de gambas encantador ( pero, ¿por qué que venían con rojo Currant medusas no sé), setas de ajo dudoso pero el queso Camembert era horrible, obviamente lo habían frito en el mismo aceite que había sido utilizada para la pesca. Nos dijeron que nos habían encontrado un huevo y podíamos luchar por ello - mis amigos rechazó educadamente (donde había aparecido? ). Principales llegamos - el sobresaliente aspecto terrible. No podíamos decidir si hubiera sido hervida o calentados, ya que parecía anémicos y la grasa parecía yuk - tanto que mi amigo no podía comer. Mi tarta premiado- el interior estaba firmemente comprometido a la corteza. Realmente no entiendo lo que estaba pasando. Toda la experiencia fue horrible, siempre vamos por tres platos pero esta noche (domingo) no nos podíamos esperar a salir. Lo siento.

Entramos en el pub de una cacofonía de ruido abajo, pero afortunadamente el restaurante estaba en la planta de arriba y una zona mucho más tranquila. Éramos los únicos clientes para esta 7 ranura de pm, así que el servicio era bueno. La comida era muy buena y el personal era muy amable y servicial. El único problema era que sólo nos dio un descuento de Tastecard en el plato principal cuando debería haber estado en ambos campos; esto no fue un gran problema porque nos lo pasamos muy bien.

Not sure who is reviewing here, we definitely did not have fantastic food. Food took a long time to arrive. Camembert starter was inedible. Sent mixed grill back to kitchen, White of fried egg was very undercooked, and was placed on top of other food, could only be described as slimy jelly fried egg. Black pudding was not ordered but was hidden under other food on plate. Famous chips were underdone, dry and tasteless. Just disgusting. Quality of food was ok just a shame how she cooked it. Waitress was very pleasant and helpful. Have tried hard to make the place look nice. Certainly will not be returning and would not recommend to anyone. Now we know why it was empty - alarm bells should be ringing with the owner - not blame it on because they are new!!!

We picked this after reading the reviews on Tripadvisor. I am not sure who is writing the reviews but we certainly did not have fantastic food and although the waitress was very pleasant she looked frazzled as was the service. Starters came without the relish, not really much that could go wrong with breaded camembert and smoked salmon. Three mixed grills, one without the egg, it came on a separate plate, 2 without the steaks they came on separate plates. Two fillet steaks, according to the menu should have been 8 ounces I certainly don't think they were, not particularly well cooked. All meals came with under done, greasy salty chips. The place is not expensive but we would rather have paid a bit more and had a decent meal. Certainly won't be returning and wouldn't recommend to anyone else.

Clean, functional bar downstairs, very friendly staff.... Venture upstairs, order some food. Yummy!.... A cross sectional menu with a little something for everyone and very very well prepared. Yes our visit had a few hookups with some items being limited/ unavailable (and one order being missed off) - did we care? Not really when the food was so nice. The chef is a hidden gem.

We stumbled across this pub in Blackrod and so glad we did, the food was excellent and the service was outstanding, the chef, waiter and owner couldn't do enough for us. One of the best meals we had on our four week holiday in Europe. The pub is downstairs and the restaurant upstairs. We found out the owner got a silver award in the 2014 british pie awards against 800 contestants

It's like Ikea with cheap furniture all over everywhere and a bar in the corner. The beer is alright, the atmosphere is zzzzz.

Called in at heroes on Sunday after reading very good reviews on here.Wish we hadn't bothered. No food to be had.Lady apologised saying they had nothing as they had a 60th birthday last night.Wont be going again.

A beautiful place to both dine and drink.The pub has a spectacular image and is well presented throughout. The staff are friendly and the atmosphere is relaxed. The menu is very accommodating and food is produced to a very high quality, the service was professional and the experience was wonderful. The pub/restaurant is also child friendly which makes it accessible to all. I would most certainly recommend the place to everyone.

After reading previous reviews on trip advisor we decided to give the place a try. We arrived and we're escorted upstairs to the newly opened restaurant which is beautifully decorated with a lovely modern atmosphere. After viewing the menu we placed our order with a lovely lady who informed the restaurant already had awards, one being for the pies on sale (which all sound delicious). I was tempted but opted for chicken whilst my husband went for the mixed grill. Food is cooked fresh to order and is beautifully presented. Very generous portion sizes with the nicest roast potatoes I've ever eaten. The staff are very attentive and we even met the chef. I mentioned the roast potatoes to him and was given a small bowl full to take home for Sunday lunch! Amazing place.....We will be back to try the pies! (and return the bowl!)

Well what can i tell you about this little bar . first impression a newly modernised bar with sofa,s and tables very stylish downstairs and,upstairs the latter being the main eating area was lovely couldn,t ask for anything more really , the food was delicious and loads of it the portions were massive i started with homemade pate which was plentiful to much to finish infact then the main was fillet steak in a diane sauce it was cooked to perfection the chips were to die for so yummy everybody was very warm and welcoming and the very best thing about this bar is that its only a short ride away and we will certainly be going back :) x

Had read the good reviews on here and decided to try it out. Took my mother out for a meal, had steak and starters. Totally enjoyed the meal and the girls working provided outstanding customer service, will visit again!

We live in close proximity to Heroes, so ideal for a nice meal and a drink without needed to figure out who's driving. The place was really friendly, we had a great chat with the owners and it explains so much about those negative reviews. Food was delicious , service was spot on, we had a young lady with special needs with us and they even made a special little "mocktail". We felt safe and welcome in the lovely little bar. I recommend it to anyone in the area.You really have to go just to see that this place is run out of the love of the food and drink and not a bar being run solely for profit like every other pub these days.

We travel to heroes most weeks for the Thursday lunch senior citizens special and I have to say we've not had a bad experience yet, the food is fresh, tasty and well presented. Whatever they've done in the kitchen over the past few months has really payed off bravo chef he's a gemstone.

WELL AFTER READING ALL THE REVIEWS ON TRIP ADVISOR I CAN HONESTLY SAY THAT YOU NEED TO GO INTO THE HEROES AND MAKE UP YOUR OWN MIND …… IT SEEMS THAT SOME PEOPLE WILL GO OUT OF THERE WAY TO WRITE UNTRUE REVIEWS FOR THERE OWN CHILDISH ENTERTAINMENTHeroes Bar and Grill is a friendly place with good beer and fantastic owners ….. this isn't your average dirty corner run down pub this is a up market place run by a fantastic couple who have bent over backwards and invested time and money to create a fantastic local Bar….. i personally give this place 100% my support … Its always a shame when in a little village you get the odd one or two people trying to cause problems on a site like this because they have nothing better to do!!

Heroes Bar and Grill is a decendant of the late Blackrod Legion and deserves praise in an area where licensed premises are becoming fewer as a result of economical changes. It has been totally revamped in a modern theme with a well stocked bar and friendly staff. It now serves food on a regular basis and caters for all ages. The televisions show all manner of sporting events and the premises have a pool table and a pool team which play in the local league. As a regular visitor to these premises my wife and I feel relaxed in the friendly atmosphere and wish the management and staff every success.

What could I possibly say about this place. No food when you ask for it. Beer very iffy n full of young idiots who want to fight feel very intimidated when u go in. Scary venue I dont feel safe as a middle aged man

After a Sunday afternoon going round the middle Brook retail park finding things that santa is bringing. It was lovely to find a pub that could deliver a good pint and great Sunday Roast at a reasonable price , My children loved there chicken nuggets and crisp chips (they looked that good I had to pinch a few ) .On whole well worth a visit

Top quality, home cooked food at very reasonable prices. The bar "snacks" are of the same high standards as the restaurant. The bar area is spotlessly clean, serving well looked after beers. Friendly staff and management are a credit to the place. There is a bus stop right outside, so no driving is needed. I have eaten here three times now and look forward to returning again,and again. Thanks hero's for some good nights. This is by far the best food in area.

We both tried the award winning pie, it was served with three times cooked chips and lots of veg and gravy. It was delicious, and only £6.00. What a great meal

I ventured in to this little pub in the centre of Blackrod for a quiet pint. Whilst waiting for my drink to be poured I spotted the food menu. I asked how long they had been serving food (on my last visit about 6 months ago they didn't do food). The barman said the kitchen had just opened after a big refurb. I ordered a Cheeseburger and Chips which was less than a fiver. I didn't hold out much hope but the food was really good. The burger was cooked to perfection and you could tell it was made out of good quality beef. The chips were homemade and were the right balance between crispy and fluffy. I went back with my sister at the weekend. This time I had the Sirloin steak baguette and my sister had a panini. We both were very happy with the price and the quality of the food. The menu isn't massive but I'm sure it will be extended.For the price and the quality of the food I will definitely be going back. I think it works out cheaper to eat here than it does for me to cook at home and I don't have to do the washing up!
