Heritage Restaurant & Bar in Greenwich

Horrible experience, from start till finish, the workers were fine but the manager Suzie Bailey was a nightmare. From dirty looks, to tutting, to ignoring, she moaned we had a wheel chair and kids, she moaned we asked where the food was after 45min from placing the order, she moaned when the kids shouted that there was a mouse, to which every one see them running about. I could go on and on. Food was standard, the building is beautiful but the atmosphere when she is around is horrific. The council has been informed about the rodent problem around the food and Suzie Bailey needs to go on a few courses to learn people/ management skills.

I haven't been to The Tudor Barn in a little while but have great memories of their fabulous 'Afternoon Tea' , gorgeous building and lovely environment so I booked a table for lunch with a group of friends to celebrate my birthday. We experienced the most delightful afternoon and evening. The atmosphere was friendly and relaxed, the food was delicious and flavoursome, with lovely drinks. All serviced by the most attentive members of staff, who couldn't have been more help, especially Darren, who was amazing and very friendly. We order steak 3 different ways all came out perfect, succulent and flavourful, the fish dish was describe by one of my friends as luscious, tasty and light! My friends who had the pie dishes describe them as well seasoned, tasty and enjoyable. All in all an absolute delight. It was such a lovely experience instead of moving on to another restaurant in the evening we decided to stay for the whole evening instead. For our evening session we bought a large selection of sharing platers which were all just perfect! All the little dishes were a revelation, they were all tasty, scrumptious and moreish A favourite with everyone was the artisan breads which were served with olive oil and were mouth watering tasty. Suffice to say.....We will all be coming back again very soon! Highly recommended! Thank you Tudor Barn for being, brilliant!

Wonderful afternoon tea with attentive and friendly service!

The Wednesday quiz is turning into a brilliant night. Staff look after us well, food is good, atmosphere is fun.

Mothers day treat at the barn brilliant food as always and the customer service was great always checking we were ok and if we needed anything.

A good quality Sunday lunch with prompt polite service.

Service was good, friendly staff. Food was very good with plenty of it. There was a singer on the Sunday which was nice. Overall the family all said they enjoyed it and looked forward to the next visit.

A wonderful meal, we celebrated our daughter’s Bon Voyage trip. We were a table of ten and the service was excellent. The food was delicious and even live music added to the warm fairy lit atmosphere. Aiste was our main server, nothing was too much trouble, she even organised with the chefs a little chocolate brownie on a plate with farewell written in chocolate. We will definitely be returning, afternoon tea next 😊

Great service, super cosy environment , I’d give it a 5 stars but it was sooooo cold inside and even the roast arrived pretty cold . It tasted delish, the sharing roast is great, but it should be served hot to be fully appreciated. I’ll def come back, but please heath up the place and serve the food nice and warm 🙏

Fantastic night, first time here and it was my birthday, food is outstanding , small menu and quality food, staff very friendly and couldn't do enough to ensure we were happy , loved the fire it made it feel so warm, only thing was due to having hearing probs the music was a little loud which I found It hard to hear everyone talking but overall a stunning place and will return in the summer

The staff were friendly and polite, the food was very good and the venue was very festive and looked pretty. It could have been a bit warmer even though there was a open fire the radiator was lukewarm.

Sunday Lunch was excellent. Service was good. We were seated by a roaring fire which was very nice. Our only gripe was that the live music was a bit too loud for a Sunday lunchtime. Otherwise all perfect.

The food was enjoyed by all, particularly the Sunday roast. At lunchtime any Xmas decor wasn't really noticeable.

Very much enjoyed our roast dinner. We had a slot between 5.30 and 7pm. which was just about right for two people. A mixture of Christmas background music that was not too loud.

Rude staff and burnt chips - spend your money elsewhere. Complained about my chips, said I won’t send back but these are overdone chips to receive the response ‘you don’t like them like that’. I told the manager and he apologised on behalf of her, she didn’t even apologise herself and bearing in mind we had another incident with her would have been nice. They took the price off one side but no offer to replace. Expensive, poor food, poor service. They still had the audacity to put a service charge on the bill. Good to see them busy but not at the expense of the customer’s experience.

Best roast I’ve eaten in a long time. All tasted lovely and fresh and home made. Live band playing Xmas carols. Was brilliant. Service was super fast without feeling rushed.

My daughter booked Tudor Barn for our Sunday lunch, having visited previously. It was my first time here; won't be my last! Weather was too damp and cold for a walk around the grounds, but the interior is so cosy and welcoming. Nice to see some very tasteful Christmas decorations up! Our Sunday roasts were delicious. As a vegetarian, I was really impressed by the nut roast- well cooked, nicely flavoured and not at all dry. MY daughter's roast beef was also excellent. The restaurant has a good atmosphere:family friendly and relaxing. We shall certainly return in future.

Nice location, good staff. Unfortunately, the roast dinner (beef) I had was dire. Beef was awful, veg also left a lot to be desired . I didn’t complain at the time as I didn’t want to make a fuss as we were with family. But, on reflection, I should have said something as we wasted money. Hopefully, they will up their game. We won’t be going back ☹️

We got married here in October 2023 and I wish that we’d taken notice of the bad reviews of the managing director Suzie Bailey. On so many occasions in the process of organising the wedding, Suzie was overbearing, judgemental, patronising and ultimately became unapproachable, wearing us down. This was extremely distressing for me at times, during what should have been an enjoyable process of celebrating the joining of two families. We were told in the sales pitch that it would be fine to tailor our wedding day to make it feel more personal in terms of food, entertainment and music. We had asked about this specifically as we wanted to include some cultural aspects commonly used in Chinese and Japanese weddings. But many of our very reasonable requests were met insensitively and, at one point, we were even lied to about why one of our requests had been denied. Things eventually got so bad that we were going to pull out 6 weeks before and find another venue but we were tied into the contract and would have lost a lot of money (£15,000+). We understand that Tudor Barn is a listed building so has some restrictions on what you can do inside the venue and on the grounds. We also understand that Tudor Barn is a profit-making business and has a very limited list of approved caterers and suppliers who, under Suzie's instruction, are limited in what they can provide. There is no way around this, as we found out when every Asian caterer we suggested was prohibited by her. Even after complying with all the venue’s rules as a listed building and paying the necessary commission and service fees, it felt like Suzie was exercising an abuse of power to deny our requests for seemingly arbitrary reasons. In my experience, whenever we had a concern or request which we wanted to discuss, Suzie was quick to shut us down and deferred to saying that she has been managing weddings for the past 15 years and has 200 clients a year. There is a small team of wonderful operational staff available on the day but ultimately Suzie controlled every aspect of our wedding planning and we were repeatedly made to feel like we were being too demanding and unreasonable. I’m sad that what should have been a joyous once-in-a-lifetime process caused us so much stress and I regret having our wedding at Tudor Barn. To save other people the same regrets, if anyone would like to speak with me directly, please get in touch as I am happy to discuss why our experience was so unpleasant and give you an idea of things to watch out for before you commit to having your wedding here.

Lovely venue, however not much use of the large restaurant since on entering left hand side of the restaurant was empty right hand side some customers were having afternoon tea, then a a few tables were left for lunch, we had one such table it looked as if shoved at the end but still near people having afternoon tea, not nice for them or us. Nice food, however the waitress was not politely waiting or asking for our order, but appeared overbearing in her attitude constantly interrupting our conversations which I found very irritating, nonetheless a different place to eat, and will check seating beforehand to see if this venue is suitable for our next meal since the last time I went with friends, the ambience, food, entertainment, table placement etc. was fantastic!

They do the best piña coladas around. Also a lovely selection of kids meals. We shared a snack board which I thought was nice and good value. Loads of space outside for children to run around.

Good absolutely awful, my daughters soup was straight out of a tin. Was thinking about booking for Christmas but definitely not now, would not go back

This was our first (and sadly our last) time visiting the Tudor Barn. First impressions were not good. I called to say we were stuck in traffic and was met with a frosty reception. After I repeatedly apologised for our delay I was told that they would hold the table for 15 mins but that we must be out by 14.45 as they needed to prepare the table for the 3pm guests ( not sure why this would take 15 mins? As there are no tablecloths or special table settings) . The waiting staff were friendly, however service was a little slow. Food was ok - not the worst roast I've had, but certainly not the best. Not impressed that there was not much more than a spoonful of gravy on our dinners and so had to pay an extra £2 for more gravy!!! And £10 for a glass of Pimms!!! Ridiculous! They also forgot the birthday brownies, though the server was genuinely very apologetic about this so we took them 'to go'. Overall what was supposed to be a special family lunch was very underwhelming. Total bill for 5 drinks, 5 starters and 5 mains £191. We chose not to have desserts. We won't be back.

Lovely meal in a historic setting. Staff went above & beyond, food was very good, and the singer/guitarist was amazing entertainment on a Sunday afternoon. Would definitely recommend.

Fabulous Roast Dinner - We ordered the sharing platter for 2 and everything was so flavoursome. The staff were extremely friendly. The barn is beautiful and they had a wonderful live singer too. Will definitely be coming back.

The food was nice but smaller portions on the Sunday roast sharing platter and the cheesecake dessert at £7.50 was so small it’s a blatant rip off. The drinks service seems a bit slow too. I used to rave about Tudor Barn but would think twice now

What a lovely place! We arrived early to walk around the beautiful grounds and were so glad we did. We had Sunday roasts which were incredible, this was one of the best roast dinners I've ever had! The staff were very friendly and made us feel welcome. I look forward to going again!

We went for Sunday lunch. It was good but a bug bear of mine was the herbs on the roast potatoes which I really didn’t like. Nice place though and friendly staff.

Lovely place to eat as it has outside or inside options and the staff seemed lovely. However our starters and main courses all arrived together so the table was overcrowded and it was too much all at once. Why would they do this?

Omg the rigatoni was perfect , al dente as it should be , heard someone complaining wasnt cooked properly , was when i ordered it , they should google ‘al dente’ , best pasta ive had in the area for ages!

The shared roast was excellent; tasty and plentiful and served on hot plates.

We had the Sunday Roasts, beef and lamb, they were all delicious. Generous portions of good quality, meat, crisp roast potatoes, all the trimmings and all piping hot. Certainly one of the best we’ve had in a pub. The staff were all friendly and efficient. We would definitely recommend the Tudor Barn.

We met up with family for a Sunday roast. Our cousins had not been to the Tudor Barn before, but they’ll certainly be back again. We had such a nice afternoon, they loved it. A live singer on the green whilst we had a couple of drinks in the sun, which made for a good atmosphere. The roast dinner was delicious and the staff very attentive. Excellent service from all of them.

We had booked outside tables. But very wet outside and they managed to put tables together for 15. With no notice. great service. Food was good, thoroughly recommend.

Really nice place but somewhat pricey on the food. Understand inflation is at a high level but £7.50 for kids mac and cheese which was basically in a dessert pot the size of a cup cake. Kids ended up eating our food as they were still hungry. I’d visit again for drinks and the playground but won’t be eating.

A great place for a Sunday Roast. The food was delicious. The atmosphere was great. The prices were reasonable. We will certainly be back for more! Definitely recommend.

Came here for Sunday lunch on a whim. We live nearby but have never been for Sunday lunch before. Very easy to park nearby (on a Sunday at least). The staff were very friendly and attentive. The menu is fairly small, but still had vegetarian and pescatarian options. My wife loved her lamb roast, while my fish and chips were good, if a little too grease heavy for my liking. The restaurant is lovely to sit in; the last Tudor barn in London, apparently. We also had some delicious puddings that really completed the meal. Price-wise, this is very affordable and good value for money. I'm glad to see they made it through the pandemic and hope they continue to serve for many years to come.

Had a beautiful roast at the tudor barn. We chose to sit outside as inside was a little stuffy being summer. We were serenaded by a signer with a mix of covers. The food was great, generous portions and beautifully cooked. Will definitely go back and recommend.

We came for the Sunday roast and were not disappointed. The drinks came swiftly and the food was delivered quite soon afterwards. We didn’t have a starter as we were having the three meat roast dinner. It came nicely presented and was delicious vegetables. We ended our meal with a very nice sweet. Altogether a very nice experience.

We came back here to our wedding venue for dinner to celebrate our first wedding anniversary. Amazing food, just how we remembered it from our wedding day, it was lovely to be able to sit outside as well. We also enjoyed our little walk around the grounds.

We have been here a number of time so know what to expect. Was put on a far table at the back,which wasn't a problem until you need anything. Food was nice we booked for 4pm so not sure if they was running out of veg as there wasn't much of it. Overall it was good but would like more veg and for staff to keep a little eye on tables further away. I would still return as it's a lovely place.

Lovely setting, friendly staff, lovely food although a little on the small side. First time here and a little disappointed with table tucked in a corner. Was lovely to start with as we could talk then music came on about 8pm and was so load talking was difficult. 3 out of 4 diners would not visit again😢😢😢

The team at the Tudor Barn were very welcoming. We were greeted and shown to our table and had both our drink and food orders taken without delay. The food was delicious, (We had the lamb roast) and again the staff were attentive to any additional requirements or requests. The atmosphere was great and the interior was cool enough to enjoy a roast on a scorching Sunday afternoon. This is the second time we have had the roast here, and we will be back time and time again.

Highly recommend the sunday roast. I had the lamb which was lovely, decent portion size too. My boyfriend had the burger, his mistake.. he said it was average and wished he got a roast too. When I say average it just didn’t have much going on. The only annoying thing was that if you sit outside you cant order a starter to come out first, all the food comes altogether unless you order it separately. A bit of a pain as you have to get up more than once so we just had our starter with our main. Other than that a very pleasant experience, would 100% visit again.

Cracking Sunday roast. I'd recommend ordering the cauliflower cheese as an extra side. It's amazing and goes very well with the large Yorkshire pudding. Staff are fabulous. Polite, attentive and happy. They are a credit to the manager/owner.

Nice location, plenty of space and lovely staff. Service slow (apparently some problems but they were very apologetic) - but not many staff to serve a big area inside and out. Decent pub-style food, nothing fancy but reasonable for the price.

Food was delicious! Waiting staff were really lovely and accommodating, with other staff checking in to see if we was OK. I've been before for Afternoon Tea (which was also yummy!), but never dinner, will definitely come back :-)

Someone was allowed to use our reserved table even though we’d booked. My friend is disabled and doesn’t like the sun so we needed more shade. A man one was alone with a baby who just wanted a drink when we were eating was given our table and I was not impressed with the service at the bar or the waitress’s attitude when we arrived! Also we were not able to have an afternoon tea despite there being cake and sandwiches on the menu because the chef needed more time! And the afternoon tea wasn’t able to be brought outside anyway! The food was sub standard quesadilla ! Poorly presented and the quality of the filling with chicken was awful stringy bits of brown meat! I would not recommend this place for service or food!
