Had a lovely day at helwith Bridge Inn today. Very friendly staff. It's under new management and thay are making a massive impression on the visitors making them welcome. Plus the food is really delicious 😋 freshly made. I would really recommend going there. I'm going back soon. Plus room in the carpark for campervan if you spend your money on there delicious food and good choices of beer's and other drinks. So make your next visit an enjoyable one this year.

We walked in the Helwith and the bar staff and kitchen staff where pleasant. We ordered a chicken fillet "buger" and a sirloin steak, the food came faster than expected and tasted microwaved, the steak didn't taste freshly cooked and the chicken burger wasn't even a burger it was just chicken breast on a dry bun, chips were okay bit not the best I've tasted. Wouldn't go for food there again.

Probably one of Englands last true pubs: no frills, just completely authentic and a perfect antidote to commercialised chains and overpriced 'gastro' pubs. This is an independent pub offering well kept real ale, proper pub food, sensible pricing, open fire and a warm welcome.

Arrived after a day walking, starving hungry. Pub not at all busy. 40 minutes till one starter arrived, they forgot the other one, which eventually arrived half an hour later. Then 20 minutes at least till the steaks arrived, which were over-cooked and dry, we asked for medium rare and they were grey through and through. VERY disappointed, did not enjoy the meal at all. Paul the landlord was surly and ungracious and did not apologise. We negotiated a reduced bill of £40, and still felt ripped off. The beer was mediocre by the way, not well looked after.

Called for a drink on our way back from Horton to Austwick and ended up having food too (although we had to wait until 5 when service started!). Good welcome, fairly priced food and drink as well. Had the steak and ale pie which has a great flavour with lots of lean meat and flaky pastry topping. Portions are generous and service friendly. Only comment is that the outside table could do with a good clean - but don't let that put you off.

Found this little gem whilst we were on a short break nearby. Had dinner here as the one we initially wanted to try was closed. Certainly not disappointed. Its a little way out, right next to the river. Dogs welcome. Food, which I understand was prepared by the lady of the house was really, really good. Both of us had steak, one with veg the other with salad and it was the best cooked steak I have ever had. Unfortunately it was beaten by the sticky toffee pudding for desert, which was the absolutely best I have ever tasted and I have tasted quite a few. We all left with full tummies and a promise of returning the next time we are close by. Well done to the owners you do an absolutely fantastic job as hosts.

Just come home from 2 fantastic nights in our campervan here with friends and our children. The food was amazing and they were so accommodating and kind with my friend who has a strict gluten and dairy free diet, she had GF fish and chips which she loved. The chef came out to our table to discuss options with her which we thought was fantastic. We had both lunch and dinner here and both were delicious large portions and the chips are to die for. All the staff were so friendly. It’s set right on the River Ribble with a gorgeous terrace overlooking it, we had a heron fly right past us while enjoying a drink. They are very dog friendly and there were quite a few campers/motor homes with lots of friendly people. One lovely couple helped me lower my pop top as it had seized up in the heat, wish I could have hung around to buy them a drink.

We found the place on the Park4Night app and decided to have our first "pub stopover" in our van here. They allow campervans to stay in their carpark if you eat and drink in the pub. The pub was ace! Proper English, independent, country pub, full of lovely folk. I had the steak and ale pie which was great, washed down with their house Bitter (£3.80) which is brewed locally especially for them. Don't expect any fancy gastro pub, just proper good honest hospitality and grub. Had a lovely nights sleep in their carpark. Although the lorries going to and from the local quarry are a bit noisy in the morning. A quick drive down to settle for a walk and all in all a lovely time was had! I've attached photos of their menu (as of Jan 2022) We will definately return! Follow our adventures on Instagram @tansythefordtransit

We're staying up at the camping pods up the road and given the rainy weather we walked down to Helwith Bridge Inn hoping to get a table to eat. The place was heaving as it was their Thursday steak night but thankfully the lovely owner of the place kindly said he could let us have a table for 4 as long as we were fairly quick. We ordered straight away from a nice, simple but varied menu. The food arrived quickly and was really delicious. The kids had some decent chicken nuggets, chips and beans and we had sirloin steaks with lovely garnishing...onion rings, chips, peas and mushrooms....all fresh and nicely cooked. Drinks were lovely too, a couple of beers then two glasses of red wine which were very drinkable. We managed to sneak in a couple of lovely mini tubs of icecream for the kids before paying a very reasonable bill. A lovely warm welcome despite being busy and not having booked.
