Heeley City Farm Cafe in Sheffield

I really like the tasty home made food from here. I really missed it when it was closed during lockdown.

Visited this cafe with a friend and on walking in I felt a tad disappointed, it didn’t smell nice and it didn’t have a welcoming feeling that most cafes have. It’s a basic looking cafe that is overpriced for what it is. The staff were friendly enough, there are vegan and vegetarian options available.

The food is simple but good quality. No fuss kinda food. The prices are reasonable. It's brilliant that they grow a lot of their own produce as well. Will be visiting again.

Visited here midweek, the smell of the soup was lovely. As we don’t like lentils we ordered the toastie and a coffee. The mug the drink came in I don’t think it had ever seen washing up liquid. We couldn’t eat the toasties because of the hygiene of the staff and the tables. The tables were sticky and we had to clean ours with a baby wipe. One staff member had finger nails bitten so badly they had blood around them and what was left of his nails were so dirty. He was allowed to handle food without gloves on. This put us off so we put the toasties into tissues and dumped them in the bin. A female staff member was shouting out how small the brownies were, she said one bite and they’d be gone and not worth the money. This is not what the customers want to hear when they pay quite expensive prices for the amount you get. The only reason I didn’t give it a 1 rating was the fact they served veggie and vegan food. I couldn’t tell you what the food tasted like as we didn’t eat it.

Enjoyed a hot drink and a scone with jam and cream here. Nice to rest at when walking around the farm- it is a well-deserved treat for getting up the hill. Thought the prices were really fair.

A lovely selection of vegetarian and vegan food is on offer - as far as we could tell, everything being made by the on-site team. Quantities are quite substantial enough and quality is excellent. And the staff and service ..... very welcoming, friendly .... and good

What a lovely little cafe. Nice prices nice food. Vegan and veggie. Breakfast and lunch I have had there and always tasty.

Came in here when in dire need of caffeine before a trip up north. We weren’t disappointed! Really tasty coffee and the farm looks fun too. Didn’t have any food but there were lots of breakfast and sandwich options. Also some hilarious postcards with goats on.

Only had a bowl of roast potatoes and a slice of chocolate cake but both were delicious. Portion size of the people on surrounding tables seemed to be very generous. Great for a veggie/vegan meal on the cheap.

Visited with a group of friends at Monday lunch and was surprised at how busy it was. Good variety of hot and cold sandwiches, cakes etc but we opted for the meals. Lovely fresh food with choices of salads and roast potatoes to go with mains. Tasty vegetable bake. Drinks were also reasonably priced and the coffee was good. Had a walk around afterwards. Plenty of plants at reasonable prices.

Took our 1 year old daughter down and she was mesmerized by the animals, really nice place, plenty of animals to see and a quaint little cafe shop with tasty meals.

I have visited a few times over the past few months and have found it friendly every time. There is a good choice of food and drink. The vegan food is delicious!! Most if the staff are friendly and. Very happy to help. I am disabled and they are happy to help by carrying my food and drink to the table and help me count my money out from my purse. There is a lovely outside seating area which is great when the weather is warm would definitely recommend this cafe.

Very pleasant relaxed atmosphere lovely scrambled eggs on toast and good strong cappuccino. To note vegetarian cafe.

This is a fab community cafe in the Heeley City Farm with fab cakes and unpretentious savoury food. The drinks are good value and there is a decent selection. Veggie food only, naturally.

Lovely salads , PLENTY OF ANY FOOD ORDERED , vegan and vegetarian , WORTH A VISIT !!!! High chairs for toddlers , variety of all drinks , hot or cold , beautiful cakes , quick service , don't lose your spoon with your personal number on !!!!

Nos fuimos hacia el otro lado de la ciudad sólo ir a hacer una visita cuando pase especial. Por consiguiente, visitas especiales es una prioridad como este pequeño, cafetería básica es realmente preciosa.

Nothing more to add really very expensive food and drinks then you get tiny portions very disappointed

I live not far from this farm and have been many times over the years. Great place for families and kids. I've always enjoyed the food. Good quality and clean. It is a small cafe so don't expect massive restaurant portions or quality. For what it is, it is a lovely cafe. Great that there's a vegan and veggie option.

What a great place the city farm is. Ramshackle but endearing and will some lovely animals. Rounded it off with Victoria sponge and coffee. Really good value and all of the cakes looked superb. Plenty of vegan options and the like if that's your thing.

We used to live opposite the farm and eat here all the time. The food is very tasty and cheap and the staff are always very friendly.

I've been a few times now, tried a variety of dishes. It's so tasty, healthy and excellent value. It's on my favourites list. Taken friends and family and all impressed at food and cakes! Excellent vegetarian and vegan food. Plenty of vegan choice

Was very disappointed when I visited the cafe.... I welcome the vegan options and I really enjoyed my jacket potatoe with vegan cheese but I must say there is not much options for anything else like chips???? My son had a kids meal as he's only 2 he don't eat that much but I was so shocked when his food came I kid you not it was a dessert spoon full of egg and a piece of bread with a piece of fruit and a Carton of soya milk. He would not drink the milk at all and wanted a yogurt or jelly but non???? The cafe staff seemed rushed and the woman with short hair was just shouting orders out came across really aggressive. I welcome cafes that have vegan options and use fresh produce but portion sizes need increasing as I had to go to coop and buy him a sandwich as he was still Hungary.

Great to see gluten free and vegan options. I enjoyed a very rich brownie and the kids played with toys in this small cosy space. I was very impressed with the variety of the menu and will definitely be going back especially with my vegan friend as it can be a struggle for her to find good vegan food so reasonably priced

The city farm has been one of my favourite places for years. I drive past it several times a week. I buy plants from there......but it was only today that I tried, for the very first time, their excellent, and I mean excellent little vegetarian cafe. I'm not a vegetarian, so what?My pal had the chilli, I had the feta pie. Both came with roasted potatos and possibly the best side salad one could expect. I asked for 'heavy on the Beetroot', and it was luscious and delicious. Add to that a couple of very nice Cappuccinos and you'd be very hard pressed to find better food for what I must confess is, quite outstanding value for money.Take time to explore the farm while you're here. Such a wonderful treasure in the heart of Sheffield.I'm slightly ashamed not to have eaten here before. I recommend you to share my delight in this discovery.

After looking round the farm with my daughter and grandson what an absolute treat to visit the cafe!Lovely people, enjoying their cooking and producing real food, with smiles and enthusiasm.We had lovely squash pasties with roast potatoes/noodles, and fresh salads. I loved the beetroot salad. My baby grandson was given a specially made bowl of roasted vegetables, and he loved sucking my roasted potatoes.Close by is a lovely play table for children as well!We finished with one portion of home made rhubarb and ginger bakewell, delicious and easily big enough for two, for £1.70 incredible value.Next time in Sheffield will be back!

When you go to Heeley city Farm be sure to call in for a snack at the cafe. Our Cow Molly Ice Cream-----delicious! and interesting vegetarian food.Good toy and book box for kids and a nice playground.

Excellent food at affordable, decent, prices. Not too expensive. Very decent salads with a bit of imagination, exquisite soup, mains , and desserts as well. Beautiful stuff. Thanks Heeley farm.

Good place for lunch especially after a potter around the farm.Very child friendly with books and toys to entertain.Very quick service and lovely food.And the cake was yum too.

A lovely little place to eat. Prices very reasonable and the food is tasty and fresh. I had the TLT for lunch, it was not only tasty but a good portion size too :-)

I would eat here everyday if I could! The menu varies from day to day but the high standard of nutritious and delicious food remains. I'm not a vegetarian but i love trying new things and this cafe certainly offers this; I've eaten here many times and have never been disappointed. The roast potatoes and salad that accompany the mains are yummy and if you have room the cakes are amazing, i had chocolate and banana cake the other day and it was so good. The atmosphere is friendly and welcoming and the team are cheerful and proactive. Accessible to all the cafe even has a selection of farm related story books to keep little ones entertained. I highly recommend a visit to Heeley City Farm Cafe and why not visit the animals, play area or regular craft activities while you are there!

Been here a few times, farm is great, my daughter loves it. The cafe is a great place to take a break and have a cuppa with a tea cake.

Excellent choice of well cooked, nicely prepared vegan scran. I had carrot soup with bread and vegan marge, then TLT, a tofu sarnie that is just so very good. The only good value veggie eatery in the city of Sheffield.

Love this cafe. lots of choice, good value and caters well for Vegans. Heeley City Farm also do a lot of great work for the community. Be sure to visit if you are in the area!!

Vegetrian cafe with a great variety of nutritious , farm grown, cheap food.Staff leave plenty to be desired i must say, some curt, rude conduct has been seen.Depends who is on duty.Check it out for the food though by all means, please do.Some volunteers have learning disabilities and on occasion one guy was utterly unable to process my order.Check out the tofu sandwiches, any pies..and those so delicious cakes.

Heeley City Farm is a must for all. I did not eat there though!

Decent portions and most food has bits from farm itself (my soup was all fresh that day). Feels like school and millions of kids (unexpectedly) but nice unusual place to go and is supporting a good cause.
