HAYAT Turkish Restaurant in Bexley

Went on Sunday the 3rd after swimming and have to say was great! Tasty full of flavour, from the drippings with bread to our main which was ribs and wings. Only one thing our little one has a lots of allergies and she could not have fries or plain rice as can't have dairy so end up with few pieces of ribs. Apart from this all good so thank you!

Started of celebrating my brothers 40th birthday here with a large group including kids. Staff was very accommodating, friendly and was a great atmosphere. Food was overall exceptionally good. Have been ordering food from here for years, prices have gone up a lot and the chicken wings are now tiny that’s the only criticisms.

I wish I could give this more than 5 stars. The food was great and the service was amazing. It was my mother's birthday and without asking they played Happy Birthday music and brought our cake for us. Overall good service and food.

Great food will definitely go back again

I visited here on a Sunday afternoon for a birthday lunch with my friends and it was fantastic! Great service, beautiful food and lovely ambience. We was booked for 1 pm so it wasn't busy at all but it did get busier as the afternoon went on. Portion sizes were huge so next time I'd probably go for a main only. Good pricing too! Would definitely revisit.

Ordered the chicken and lamb shish which was so tender and delicious - I recently visited a Turkish in Mayfair which was extremely over priced and this food was much better quality and price! I will definitely be ordering again soon

We do like going there. The service is excellent the stuff is friendly. And each food we tried till today was super tasty thanks to chefs. It is not possible that you leave unhappy.

Hayat were great - they catered to a big party of 22 and the service was excellent, and all the staff were very friendly and great with checking up on us. But even if the staff were grumpy it would still get 4/5 from cos the food was that good. Honestly think it might be the best bread I've ever had. Definitely would recommend and will be going back!

My wife and I have been to Hayat Turkish restaurant about 5 times now and each time the food and the service has been excellent. The food is very tasty and plentiful, so much so that I have to skip the starters/appetizer otherwise we struggle to eat the main course. Highly recommended

Arrived at 6pm with friends to enjoy a lovely evening and was told very abruptly we need table back at 8pm. Ordered drinks told again need table back at 8pm. Food very nice but we feel was very expensive we then ordered more drinks so spent quite a lot of money to then be told at 7.50 we had to leave and was given bill before we had even finished eating. As a first time customer at this restaurant after being told it was lovely I thought it was appalling customer service as all they were worried about was how much money they could make from another table full of customers. Won’t be returning.

The table was booked for 6pm and from the moment we arrived we were told that they needed the table for 8pm . This was repeated numerous times throughout our meal . By 7.50 we had finished our meal and got told that we had to have our bill and no desert was offered . We were asked to vacate our table however there was no one waiting to be seated and a couple of tables empty . Good food but very poor service !! Lived in the area for many years but the first time we had visited this restaurant and won’t be coming back !

Was hoping for a great night out with friends. Table booked for 6pm as we like to chat so gave ourselves, what we thought was, plenty of time. Whilst the food itself was delicious, the portion size of the sides was small and disappointing Despite not being busy we had to attract serving staff attention whenever we needed anything Bang on the dot of 8pm we asked to leave and the waiter was standing there with the bill in his hand and we’re just finishing our dessert at this time At no point during the booking process did anyone say tables were limited to two hours and whilst being told we had to leave there were three large table unoccupied Luckily we found somewhere else to carry on our evening

We had celebrated our anniversary with my wife yesterday there. The best turkish restaurant ever I have tried in whole London. Bless to the Manager got us table quickly even they have booked fully. Waiter was really quality on his job even he could speak with me on multiple languages.I think it’s really good to have quality staff in your team. And he said that owner is highly qualified chef looking after his business by himself 24/7. We are definitely coming back with my family. Highly recommended.

Had a family birthday meal at this restaurant. This was my first time here. We were well received with attentive and friendly staff . The meal was quickly prepared and served. The food was good and substantive. I had the musaaka and was well pleased with it. The toilets were very clean. The background music was not intrusive. Although this is a small restaurant we were not overcrowded in space. The prices were fair. I would have no reluctance in recommending this restaurant.

AVOID THIS RESTAURANT - QUALITY HAS GONE DOWNHILL AND HORRIFICALLY RUDE OWNER!!! Interesting that the restaurant is getting bad reviews deleted - I’m now writing this for a second time. The quality of the food has drastically gone downhill as others have mentioned (fatty meat and burnt), portion sizes have also decreased and prices have shot up - appreciate prices have risen everywhere but not to this tune, especially coinciding with the cut backs. I was a regular customer - the other week I ordered a takeaway as usual but when I opened the box at home the meat was completely charcoaled and black - it was inedible! I called up straight away and the staff member said he knows were regulars so we was offered a free box on our next order only to later call up and have the owner (who refused to spell his name for me when I politely asked - snapping at me that I didn’t need it) shout down the phone at me calling me a liar and speaking appallingly and swearing about his staff member before proceeding to shout at me to take my business elsewhere and hanging up. Before he hung up, earlier in the conversation, he interestingly mentioned that he’s stopping take outs/ deliveries shortly as this is a regular occurrence.. perhaps he needs to review the orders that are being sent out if this is the case!. I see from reading reviews that this happens frequently and no doubt the owner will also lie and say whatever to debunk this review - denying I’m a regular customer (as he conveniently has with others etc). Extremely bizarre way to run a business and also very upsetting to be on the receiving end of, I was quite shaken up after the experience to be honest. Perhaps as he’s having reviews removed, he doesn’t care what he says/ how he treats customers.

AVOID! AWFUL SERVICE WITH EXTREMLEY RUDE STAFF! Our entire take out was burned to a crisp - literally black and charcoaled! Inedible! Shockingly rude staff there - the owner (who wouldn't spell his name out for me, when I politely asked) shouted down the phone and told us to go elsewhere. Apparently he's stopping take outs in the next week or so as this is a frequent problem. From reading reviews on here now, it seems others have had issues like this and I imagine I'll get a rude response with him lying about this happening! Very strange way to treat regulars (no doubt he'll say he doesn't recognize us as he has said to other regulars that have left reviews on here!) - we'll gladly find a new restaurant as you suggested before you slammed the phone down!

The service was great, staff are really friendly, one put off, is they are still serving coke/Fanta/sprite- I don't support Israel. But the food was lovely and the place is nice. Can tell it gets pretty busy.

Great selection of starters comes with lovely bread and dips. Meat platters are grilled with knowledge and understanding of how each type of meat should be. Their Iskander dish with adana kebab is a feast of perfectly judged balance of bread, meat, tomato sauce, and melted butter that amalgamates into a burst of flavours in your mouth. Service is great, speedy with a smile. It was so enjoyable we decided to host our work Christmas dinner here.

The food looks amazing it’s a shame we didn’t get to taste it. We waited 2 hours for a mains that didn’t turn up. They told us their grill wasn’t big enough for this busy day… So they filled us up on bread and soft drinks until we had enough of waiting for the mains. They gave us the bill and it came to £60 and we haven’t even eaten a mains. There was only 3 of us and there grill wasn’t big enough

The food was amazing ( the first time there) the staff were so lovely and very helpful. The restaurant was nice, clean and moon. My hubby and I had a good time and will definitely be going there again.

Great food, the best lamb shish I have had. Meat was full of flavour, tender and perfectly cooked. Some nice mezze options too, we had mixed cold and mixed hot. I didn't try all of it but what I had was lovely. Would recommend a visit here.

This is probably the best Turkish Restaurant I've eaten at. Great service. The chicken and Lamb Shish dishes are insanely good!

This was 100% not a £25,- value food order. I called the restaurant after I reported the missing mayo and poor portion size of the chicken wings. Apart from the small salad and perhaps the free bread, the sigari borek were completely soggy with water in the container on a brown leaf of lettuce and literally a drip of sweet chili sauce in the corner. The Taramasalata is inedible, runny, horrible taste and pure lemon juice. On top of this the sweet potato fries were drained in fat and the container fully closed and full of condensed water. I called and spoke to Barry who admitted they are having issues with the packaging and the fried items should definitely go in a paper bag or something of this sort. They are working on it, but I had to throw out this food. He referred me back to Uber eats for a refund as a resolution. 4 flims of chicken on a bone is not supposed to cost 7,5 pounds and come without sauce. It's my first night of holiday celebration and I decided to treat myself. I will have to cook a meal after all and eat after 9pm. Came here last night to meet up with a friend I hadn't seen for a few years. Staff were very attentive and very friendly. The food was amazing such huge portions that we both had leftovers to take home. Great to see how busy the restaurant was on a Tuesday night, luckily we booked. It was our first time here, definitely not the last. Have already recommended it to family.

Me and my wife went for dinner date at Hayat today. Their hospitality was amazing and warm. Lamb shish was cooked to perfection; one of the best I tasted. Kofta was different and delicious. We really enjoyed our time there, and will visit again soon with our kids. We really recommend them

Me and my little family, we spent a few days in England and on recommendation we went to this establishment. From the reservation we were well received as well as on the arrival of the Restaurant, very beautiful decoration, the dishes were very generous and well presented. We had a great time with professional service. I would like to highlight our waitress Sarah who was really a great professional with always a beautiful smile.

The food at Hayat is delicious! Everything is expertly prepared and presented. The staff are attentive and welcoming. Can't recommend Hayat enough, best place for Turkish food in the area :)

We ate here with friends, service is excellent. It’s so busy you need to book in advance ,staff are efficient & friendly. Food is really good. Huge portion sizes with bread & dips alongside starters. Main meals are so tasty & we have eaten here many times & look forward to coming back.

This place is so busy that I tried it on a Saturday lunchtime. Now I understand why you have to book ahead for a table in the evenings. The food, and particularly the meat, is excellent. I’ve eaten at some high end restaurants and the quality of the lamb and chicken matches anything I’ve had anywhere, and betters most. The meat is cooked to perfection and obviously care is taken over where the meat is sourced. Whilst not the cheapest Turkish restaurant in the area, the portions are huge and quality is spot on. We will definitely return.

Ordered delivery through Uber eats. The food was super tasty, nice and hot as it was packaged well. Bit pricey compared to a fast food kebab shop but I think okay for a treat! Would love to order again in the future. For 2 people, we ordered 1 lamb shish and 1 combo meal for 1 person but had plenty left over for another meal the next day. I recommend both. The bread was really good 😋😋 and my favourite was probably the lamb chop in the combo. P.s. the sauces were on the small side.

Food is amazing - good size portions, selection of starters is great and plentiful. They really make a deal of birthdays and the head waiter / manager is super courteous. The one thing that they lack is a front of house experience - not really greeted , guess cos they are so busy, and it is quite a small restaurant, and the only other thing like everywhere else, prices are a little on the steep side. All in all a lovely treat every couple of months.

I would recommend this restaurant as the food was amazing maybe a little to much but you can take it away with you so that's good. The price for the food was what I expected and not over priced. Customer service was good. Only downside was the cocktail. I had a pina colada could not taste any alcohol in it at all in fact it was very watery so definitely not worth the £9.00 they charge for it. So for that reason did not have another. All in all a nice restaurant would have given five stars had the cocktail been worth it's price. Also be aware it is very noisy so makes conversation on a large table a little hard.

One of the best Turkish restaurants I’ve been to and I love lamb chops! Came here for lunch and will admit is a little pricey but thought would give it a try as love my lamb. Order mix grill for one and came with lots of quality cut meat and good portion along with rice, salad and was given extra fresh pitta. Really good service and friendly and definitely worth a visit if you like lamb and good quality meats. Forget the ones you been to and give this one a try and it’s really tasty!

Came here on a rare trip away without the kids. Booked a table on Saturday evening. It was very busy. Staff were very friendly. Starters came with a bread basket and dips which I would happily have ordered as a starter, gorgeous! My main was vegetarian moussaka, it was a bit disappointing. The meat dishes coming out to other tables looked and smelled delicious! I'm neither vegetarian nor vegan, but if I were I don't think I'd come back - veggie choices were very limited and I don't recall seeing any vegan dishes. I'm t-total and ordered a mocktail that tasted suspiciously like it had rum in it! The second one I ordered tasted completely different so I was a bit concerned that I'd accidentally drank alcohol. It was a bit loud so it is possible they didn't hear me say mocktail. Luckily I wasn't driving, but I did suffer tummy pains afterwards. I will come back here, but next time I will order a chicken dish for my main and make sure they hear me when I ask for a mocktail rather than a cocktail!

I have been here with my wife and family before several times and certainly will return in the future. One of my many favourite restaurants not only in my local Sidcup but in the whole of London and the South - East. Monday 30/5/22. Revisited the HAYAT TURKISH RESTAURANT with my wife & youngest Goddaughter. The decor, layout, and refurbishment totally uplifted and further improved ...as with the cosy outside seating under cover. So attractive, modern, spacious, and clean inside. Staff & owner the very best in hospitality 👍, the food absolutely delicious...memorable! We are very lucky to have this top restaurant in Blackfen, Sidcup. One of my favourite restaurants! Thanks for looking after us, we enjoyed the experience. First time here and first time to a Turkish restaurant outside Turkey! Excellent menu, helpful staff, pristine toilets. Overall a very pleasurable dining experience.

The Resturant is clean and the staff is nice. Music and environment too!! Food was amazing as well, it came hot and tasty, portions were ok considering the price. The reasons why I am giving 4 stars: 1) the Turkish tea didn’t taste of Turkish at all, it was more a normal Earl grey with added hot water. 2) how can you not have baklava??? My mum Came from Italy with the desire of eating a nice Turkish meal and baklava at the end but we had no luck! Overall a 4 stars ⭐️ Updating my review - it’s a 5 stars now! They had baklava this time and although there was no Turkish tea the staff was very polite. Portions are huge and the food tastes simply lovely!! I will come back again!

Lovely staff. Accommodated 18 of us Saturday lunchtime. Fantastic food and lots of it. Even defeated some of the youngsters. Well with a visit.

Extremely friendly staff. Food was very good and plenty of it and well presented. 4 star due to the space composition , too much tables for such a small place and it was too noisy. I would return again but will try another day other than Saturday.

Lovely restaurant and staff, eaten here before, but sadly this time our chicken and a lamb served very undercooked and had to be sent back. Food replaced but it was still not all cooked enough to eat.

Held my 60th birthday lunch here for 27 guests on Saturday 3rdl September.All service was first class and attentive, food excellent,drinks flowed well. Overall an enjoyable afternoon in a lovely restaurant with equally lovely staff. Highly recommend the place.
