A very nice cafe, the scones and cake were great. We will be back.

Lovely tea room. Friendly and accommodating to our request. Generous portions and good value fir money.

Looks lovely from the outside but the service was awful. Food eventually arrived but my cheese toastie was cold. The panini we ordered was just a baguette, the cheese wasn’t even melted. The interior needs attention, tiles missing on walls, dirty skirting and part filled walls. We wouldn’t recommend eating here.

Really enjoyed food Cakes homemade and tea high quality and it was worth it I don't regret it and I highly recommend this place make sure you visit this place

I had the schnitzel wrap to try something different and I was blown away! The food was incredibly fresh, made to order and was delicious. I'll be going back for another one soon!

Was looking for a nice little cafe for some lunch in Stratford and thought this might be OK but wish I had kept looking. Staff are friendly enough but the food looks reasonable priced for Stratford until it's served up, my sausage roll and chips consisted of 2 cheap supermarket type sausage rolls and about 10 chips, half of the chips were cold and the rest slightly warm and the sausage rolls were so hot you couldn't eat them with the chips. My wife's ham sandwich was limp and again cheaply sourced ingredients. The presentation of the food was poor to say the least. Come on Havilands get your act together if you want to stay in business, and get the entrance door fixed too, it had to be slammed to make it close. ☹️☹️

Love this tea room. Wasn’t aspecting such kind of service, atmosphere and nice tea. Found it accidentally when passing by. It was chilly day and all I need a cup of tea. Btw sit out and enjoy tea as well as autumn colours

I was not impressed with their service. Myself, husband and GUIDE DOG were refused access to their cafe. They would not accept they were breaking the law.

We ordered food from sham but only one food came out which was not tasty and I had to wait for mine for a very long time and when it came out it wasn't even cooked properly and the menu was showing the soup as veg soup when it wasn't even the sandwich they made me was dry I have never been in a cafe that bad before would never go there again !!!!!!!!! Even the staff was rude saying it was cooked when it wasn't cooked

It was a greatful day.I just had a soup and high tea from there.it was soo memorable .staff also are so kind and hardworking.the lady name deepa ,she is pure kind and doing her level best.The boy in the front is also very hardworking and polite.Please visit and having fun guys

Wonderful atmosphere run by a lovely family. The soup of the day and tea I had was absolutely fantastic 10/10! The soup was absolutely bursting with flavours and mixed with the homely vibes overall just made my experience perfect. Would come back to Stratford just to visit this cafe as it was well worth my time.

Awful. We were seated and looked at the overly expensive menu but decided it was a treat and ordered 1 small breakfast and 1 full breakfast, alongside a pot of tea and an orange juice. Server seemed nice enough however had basic English levels. Orange juice came in a latte cup, the tea was poor quality and almost looked grey after adding milk. Our breakfasts came out, quality looked basic and the bacon had barely been cooked. Looked more like ham and the fat was still gooey looking. Explained to the server that our bacon wasnt cooked - again poor English skills gave little confidence this would be rectified. We decided we would pay for our drinks however were no longer interested in eating here. Another lady came out and asked what was wrong with our food. Again, explained the bacon had barely been cooked. Apparently... they do it like this for elderley people who struggle chewing?! And I should have asked for my bacon well done. If you gave elderley people that, they'd have no hope of chewing it and it would have probably made them ill. After trying to be as polite as possible, we were practically shouted at, told we had wasted the food and that it was still down to us for not asking for it well done. (I dont want well done bacon... I just want it cooked!) After being spoken to horrendously, we became increasingly unhappy and simply decided to leave, while being told we were rude. Awful place, poor food and even worse service. Would not recommend. Left feeling upset, uncomfortable and hungry.

Called in for tea and bacon rolls. First the good part - China tea cups and teapot and plate. Downside - teabags must have been pre-pandemic or possibly on boiling water or both. Result, completely tasteless tea Ordered crispy bacon to be faced with wobbly fat! The bread rolls stuck to the roof of the mouth - again the cheapest possible bread Bacon was recooked but was so dry I couldn’t eat it. However my starving husband finished it off both sauces - red and brown were unrecognisable names. It’s fine to serve the cheapest of the heap if price reflects that. However each roll was £5.20 and £5.00 for tea. Won’t be recommending

Found a hair on my plate so coldnt eat another morsel I refused to pay for mine very understaffed felt sorry for the lad had to wait around 35 mins

Avoid if you have any special requirements. Server confirmed 3 times that the bread in the sandwich was ordered as gluten free and delivered as Gluten Free. Then when I queried again after eating some they said that it was actually regular bread. Server didn't seem to know/care what the consequences were and there seemed to be no-one else in charge to raise this with. Please don't put Gluten Free options on your menu if you have no idea what this means and what the consequences are to your customers of not being able to deliver what they ordered. I did use to go here regularly for lunch, but hadn't been for a while. I'm guessing its under new management now. Clearly I'm not planning on ever going back.

High Tea was so quaint, everything was miss match and it just word! The home made scones, clotted cream, sandwiches and cakes were delicious. When I come back it will be my stop for our Tea!

Well what can I say ? DO NOT Waste your money on food and drink at this tea room . Dirty glasses and disgusting food . I have had night mares about this place.

Used to really like this place but it looks like they’ve got new owners. We arrived, tables were messy, place was a bit of a tip. Our server had as much enthusiasm as a sloth. Not even a ‘thank you’ or a ‘goodbye’ when I paid. He just said ‘£21.80’ and that was it. Food was subpar. I could see other disgruntled customers in there. What a shame. The previous owner used to be so welcoming and chatty, and the food quality was better.

We ordered our food and drinks without too much trouble from the children that were serving the one girl was no older than 12. Our drinks arrived first the glass for the coke had lipstick stains, so couldn't be used. Whilst we were waiting for our food to arrive a young foreign student asked if he could use the toilet, noises bellowed from the kitchen saying that the toilets weren't working, he then offered to buy a drink, miraculously the toilets were available. Our food then arrived 2 jacket potatoes with a side salad, the salad consisted of 3 curly lettuce leaves and the jacket potatoes very small. We also had a panini which was ok - bacon and brie, the brie was ok the the bacon very salty and barely cooked. Once the young man had used the toilet facilities he gave the staff a tip of a very generous £20 note. The couple at the table next to us also commented on the comedy show. If you don't mind poor service, dirty glasses and mediocre food then this is the place to go. If I'd read the reviews before I visited I would have swerved this cafe.

My husband and I popped into this place as our regular cafe was closed as it was on a Sunday. Really wished we hadn't bothered. Food was disgusting to say the least. My husband ordered a cheese sandwich on white bread. It came on brown bread with a thumb print on it. I took it back and they changed it. The bread was stale so he couldn't eat it. I had a pasty with a salad garnish which was a joke. The pasty was rock hard and the salad garnish was a few limp lettuce leaves and a tiny piece of cucumber. This place used to be owned by two brothers who were so lovely. This lady who runs it now hasn't got a clue. I would avoid this place. She is charging high prices for rubbish food. When I went to pay for it she was writing down everything in a note book. It was so unprofessional it was a joke. It grieved me to pay the bill to be honest but I had a bad vibe from her and I think it would have ended up in an argument so I paid and left. Disgusting place.

Looking for somewhere not too busy for lunch and cam across this lovely cafe. It was very clean and nicely set out, something interesting to look at in all directions. The food was tasty and quick. Very nice staff

We almost always read TripAdvisor reviews of restaurants before we visit, and on this occasion, we wish we had read the reviews of this café. It seems to be under new management from when we last visited. I had a green tea which was fine, but my partner’s flat white coffee was undrinkable. We didn’t complain as the staff did not appear to be open to constructive criticism. We left, and we certainly will never return.

This tea room has changed ownership and the food offering is now expensive and poor quality. The staff were very friendly but this doesn’t make up for the overpriced food and drink.

Well what a surprise, we found tucked up a side street. We were so impressed with your tea rooms. You can see and sense that you all really care about customer service. We were looking for somewhere for a late lunch whilst visiting Stratford for the day and try to stay away from big chains. So glad we came across this place, we sat outside in the sun, had toasted sandwiches which were served with a nice little salad and gorgeous fat chips! ...and coffee, the food was lovely and very generous portions, pleasent staff, really enjoyed it and would highly recommend a visit.

Visited these tea rooms for the first time today. The two gentlemen assistants could not have been more polite and helpful. It was very busy indeed, we ordered sandwiches and salad and within no time it was being served to us. Everything was beautifully prepared and lovely and fresh. We also had their honeycomb cheesecake delicious. Thank you very much will definitely visit again

Friendly efficient service & good choice of food

Cannot praise enough.. Staff extremely helpful and diligent regarding dietary allergies. Even little details such as extending the awning to protect us from rain was much appreciated. Waiting staff so patient, kind and humorous. Daughter, baby grandson and myself thoroughly enjoyed our tasty lunch.
