Harvester in Carmarthenshire

We were having a bad day so to find space at Harvester was just great, we could finally relax! The staff were lovely & allocated us space straight away. The salad bar is included and was absolutely delicious with a lot to choose from, top tip - don’t eat too much salad because you’ll be too full to eat the rest🤣! We had the 2 course Christmas menu. I recommend the mushrooms for starter & the turkey Christmas dinner. Absolutely divine! The organisation was good, it all tasted good & looked amazing! Will definitely come back! Only down side was it did take a while for the main to come!

We thoroughly enjoyed ourselves here. We went for my daughters 14th birthday. The service was good. It was Dylan who served us. He was quite good. The food was plentiful and tasty and warm. We didn't wait long to order or receive our orders. The ambiance was good. It was warm. The price was very respectable for 5 adults. We got 25% discount. I would go again. I must say it has improved 100% since i was last there in 2021 i think.

Went to Harvester for lunch was absolutely lovely, staff were great and helpful, food was excellent. All round great experience!

Carmarthen restaurant ,my wife and I went in restaurant wasn’t that busy but we had to book come back in 45 mins ,got seated very pleasant waitress took our order my wife can’t eat anything except plain so she chose the pasta veggie dish ,I had mixed grill helped our selves to salad got our drinks ,then waited 50 mins for our food (not good ) food came wife’s food has some kind of BBQ tasting sauce with it and it was very chewy ,she couldn’t eat it ,mine was ok asked for a rare steak got medium. I am a professional chef so I understand waiting if it was packed but it wasn’t ,won’t be going again

Fantastic value for money, quality food, lovely atmosphere, clean and very friendly. We popped in on our travels before going to the cinima. Special mention to Dylan who was so polight and looked after us there the whole time. Would definitely recommend. Thank you

Fantastic meal, value for money and lots of choice on menu - even for my fussy son! The young lady, Shannon, that served us was very sweet. Although busy she made sure we had everything we needed. We are visiting this area but definitely think this Harvester is the best that we have been to.

Excellent service all-round. Great food and a friendly atmosphere. Even sorted a box for my daughter to take her burger home in.

Our lunch was nice, especially the fishcakes, although the garlic bread was a little overdone. Katie who served us was lovely and very helpful despite it being a busy lunchtime.

We visited on a Monday evening while on holiday in Wales. We were seated and ordered our meals. We had to ask another waitress for bowls for the salad bar. The salad was missing a few items including bread rolls, when my husband asked for them he was told that who ever was supposed to order the items hadn’t done so. When receiving our meals my daughter had ordered steak, she’d asked for it to be cooked medium but it was very much rare. We asked for it to be cooked a bit more, the waitress was lovely and took the steak back to the kitchen. When it returned it wasn’t cooked much more than the first time. My daughter didn’t want to send it back again but hardly ate anything. The rest of the meals were missing items and when we asked it was for the same reason as the salad bar. We were then offered something else to add to the meal at this point. Everything just felt disjointed. Very basic Harvester.

As always, an excellent meal. The vegetarian options always a good choice. The Team Leader, who served us, was good at his job & definitely a 'people person'.

Arrived for lunch at 12:15 on the 27th of this month and was politely greeted by a lovely young lady. I asked for a table near the back near the salad bar due to mobility issues, this was not a problem. We were given menus and told our server would be along shortly. We were given sufficient time to look over the menu’s We were served by Dylan on this occasion and although the many times we have been there all the staff have been lovely, Dylan was great! Attentive but not overly and very knowledgeable with the menu. After placing our order, mine was the Rotisserie chicken and my husband had a beef burger, We went to get our salad and it was all very fresh and plentiful! The potato salad was amazing! Our food arrived and i think it’s one of the best meals i’ve had there, although not once have we not enjoyed our food. I had to send our compliments to the chef on this occasion 10 out of 10 from us, keep it up Harvester 😃

Absolutely shambles. We arrived early at 6.30pm and was seated at table 32 by a lovely young lady. We had arranged a midweek date night for myself and husband. Order was taken fairly swiftly and bowls given. I have never had such weak squash in my life you could swear there was a shortage across the country it was basically yellow coloured water and they charged £2.30 for that. We ordered our food my husband the mixed grill and upgraded to dirty fries and myself the rump steak with peppercorn sauce stating twice that they bee cooked rare. However it swiftly went downhill when we hit the salad bar and there was hardly anything there no lettuce no pasta and no bread rolls or butter out at this stage we were sat right next to the salad bar and saw over 20 people come and walk away looking very disappointed that items were not being replaced at all. For the duration of our visit about an hour and half the lettuce was not replenished once. Then my husbands food arrived while I had popped to use the facilities and big sign on the door stating that there is not hot water therefore they have put hand sanitiser there instead. For someone who suffers with skin conditions this is simply not good enough. It took another 10 mins for my food to arrive. We both looked at each and didn’t know whether laugh or cry on each plate was half a slightly grilled tomato only with 2 of the smallest mushrooms that could be found burnt to a cinder. The peas looked as if they had just come out of a microwave my husbands steak was nowhere near rare but on the verge between well done and burnt. The chicken was anything much to right home about and the gammon the same the chips were cold they only decently cooked item on his plate was the fried egg. No myself ordering a rare rump steak with peppercorn sauce was expecting a nice juicy piece of meat with a lovely jug of sauce. I have have had nicer peppercorn sauce from value supermarkets. The steak was like leather and could barely cut through it even with the steak knife. It had so much fat running through the cut of meat there was more fat than meat. We swiftly ate what we could walked to the bar and paid for the bill and even with the 40% voucher used it cost over £30. Left still hungry very disappointed and will not be returning again. The fact that the chest could not tell the difference between how to cook a rare steak and an incinerated one baffles me.

I messaged the restaurant at the end of May and although read was never answered they obviously don’t mind that people don’t return So not happy with our visit today. Came in for lunch arriving just after 12:30 and seated straight away, order taken and bowls for salad and our drinks had arrived within five minutes to table 7, after this things went down hill. We had ordered two of the simply chicken with jackets potatoes and we waited and we waited, people coming in after us were having their more complex orders and despite asking how much longer still no food or told we were next, by 1:20 I was starting to feel ill as needed food (I’m diabetic) was told that things weren’t good in the kitchen and meals were being messed about - I told him we couldn’t wait anymore as I needed to get a sandwich, reply was terribly sorry over and over and then took payment for the drinks - unbelievable response after so long you’d have thought the drink would have been complimentary 😡 we left just after 13:30. We were visiting on way to a couple of days away in a cottage and this certainly took the shine off things as I was unwell for the rest of the afternoon

Terrible service, waited over an hour for our food, the couple behind us had the wrong food brought out so they left and didn’t pay, I told them to box ours up because we needed to go(didn’t expect to be anywhere near that long) then after this it took another 20 minutes, I regretted paying as I had to wait then!
