Harry's Bistro in Isle of Anglesey

We ate at Harry's twice during our short break staying at HPB Henllys because we enjoyed their food during a previous stay in 2019. As before, brilliant, imaginative food. Harry's is run and staffed by lovely people. It's popular with local people which for an 'onsite', though independently run, restaurant is always a good sign.

A lovely restaurant run by people who care. Varied menu, excellent food, professional, friendly staff. Fantastic views and a warm and welcoming atmosphere. So glad this place is local!

Great meal and the service was brilliant too I had pea and celeriac soup to start and my partner had the king prawns. Both were great. I had the Welsh lamb faggots and he had the duck leg confit. Generous portions - so much so that we couldn’t manage a dessert. They looked fab on other people’s tables. We are staying on the complex so could walk there. Will defo visit again as a step up.

We booked at Harry’s for a meal last night and had a really great time. It was an easy walk to the bistro as we’re onsite so added to carbon capture too😂 The meal was exquisite. Confit of duck leg served beautifully which was tender and full of flavour. Puds were plum sponge and roasted walnut with clotted cream - delicious, if a bit naughty😂. Service and hosting excellent too with warm and professional staff. Thank you Harry’s

Had a traditional English Sunday Lunch which included beef that was served pink and all the trimmings, including Yorkshire pudding. I chose this restaurant based on reviews and was not disappointed.

Recently visited this restaurant that is located on the HPB site in Anglesey. Staff were friendly & the food cooked well but the restaurant decor had deteriorated since our last visit several years ago. Some of the halogen ceiling lights were not working , others missing or in a poor state of repair resulting in the restaurant having dim lighting. We were also concerned that the Food Hygiene Rating had dropped to 3 in July this year & we won’t return until it has improved.

My wife & I drove up from Essex to take my Aunt, who lives on Anglesey, out for her 90th Birthday. We couldn't have picked a better venue. We were warmly welcomed & shown to our table, which had a stunning view over the fantastic golf course. My wife & I had the battered prawns for starters & the waiter thoughtfully brought a small plate in case my Aunt was tempted to have a sample, which she did. Two of us had the roast Sirloin & my wife had the Welsh lamb, they tasted as good as they looked. Our puddings were so tasty & my Aunt was tempted to have sorbet & ice cream, which was presented with Happy Birthday, in chocolate on the plate. It finished off my Aunts day. The quality of service matched the food. Thank you!

Excellent meal for our party of 12 - service was excellent, and we’ll forward to coming again. Desserts were particularly outstanding!! 5/5!!

5* bistro - THE best meal I've had. Me and my wife have worked in hospitality for years and this still blew us away. Incredible food (and the rioja was delicous), attentive staff and the most welcoming manageress we have met. We were visiting Beaumaris on holiday and went for our wedding anniversary. They made it so special. The welsh cheese platter for dessert was very tasty and they even explained what every cheese was. We live in Manchester and will still find a way to be regulars. The view of the bay is also spectacular!

Wonderful setting . Lovely ambience in the restaurant. Very friendly staff. Food - this time - only average, disappointing and overpriced. Desserts used to be amazing - this time poor. Sorry .

Went here for dinner - they had been shut all week so we were lucky to get a table. Staying on site so really handy. Really nice with a good menu, kids menu and specials. Kids had cheesy garlic bread and sausage and mash for their food and enjoyed. I did think the starter was quite pricey for two simple slices, but I can forgive that. We had prawns and fish cake starters, which were delicious. Mains were the pork belly and lamb faggots, absolutely delicious. Really yummy then we shared cheesecake and sticky toffee for pudding. Really lovely. Very filling, so needed a walk afterwards, but was a delicious meal and lovely service.

Definitely worth a visit if you are in the area. It is at the back of a very nice hotel so you have go around the front of the hotel to the restaurant car park at the back. On arrival we were greeted by a lovely lady who should us to our table. We had lamb fagots and salmon. The fagots are not all the leftovers of the animal as you used to get but quality pieces of lamb formed into a fagot. They were very nice. My husband had the salmon which was also lovely. Good quality food at a very good price. Service was also excellent.

Visited here for Sunday lunch. The friendly service was excellent, the food was absolutely fabulous and at a great price. Highly recommend.

Coming out of lockdown Harry's are offering a Takeaway menu to reheat we have just enjoyed the most wonderful Welsh lamb and vegetable hot pot. Great value and highly recommend

We had a beautiful Valentines Day meal for my wife and I. During COVID-19 lock down.We collected the meal at the restaurant this was done methodically and very professional. We felt very safe with the handover the food packages laid in our car boot securely.The meals were packed well with detailed instructions how to heat.The food was excellent lovely flavours the best thing nearest to eating out in a nice restaurant.We are planning one of their Sunday lunches next and when COVID restrictions are relaxed will definitely return for a sit down meal at the Bistro.

We have just had the most amazing Sunday Roast delivered right to our door. Top quality food, tasty and beautifully cooked. Can highly recommend. Will be ordering again next week!!

We ate here twice in the last week and thoroughly enjoyed both visits. The only criticism was that my wife had the lemon posset and fresh raspberries as a dessert and the raspberries were poached. A slight disappointment, otherwise everything was as shown on the menu, the prices are reasonable, considering that everyone else seems to have yanked up prices to cover COVID-19 looses. So go and enjoy. The staff are great and attentive. Well worth a visit.

Excellent meal, very pleasant staff and lovely hostess all good quality ingredients, very clean and felt safe, surroundings a little plain but not much more I suppose can be done with its location, would defiantly dine again.

We enjoyed dinner here - walked in from town (took about 20 minutes) but the bistro will call a cab back for you. It's on the edge of a golf course and has the slight feel of a golf club though this could be because of Covid with the tables spaced out. Service was great. We enjoyed the lobster starter although it was £16 for a starter and the curry rather overpowered the delicate lobster flavour. The cod mains were excellent and so was my pud though husband's was a little dry. So all in all a good meal, reflected by the prices, and with just a few tweaks it would have been excellent.

We had an evening meal at Harry’s Bistro which was excellent- particularly the puddings. Slightly bizarre location on a golf course but worth a visit.

Our first restaurant evening out since Covid and of course it has to be Harry's. Their second night open, all tables taken and as usual the food and service was excellent, Their starter of local lobster dish was a joy and was the rest of the meal.Nia was at the forefront and it was good to see her again.Cannot recommend enough.

We last went to Harry’s 10 years ago, and we’re not impressed! Fortunately we decided to give it another try! The welcome was warm, the food was magnificent, well cooked and well presented. We particularly liked the lobster special starter and the special pork belly main. There was a children’s menu that was very well received, and the adults had no problems either! There was a good wine list with a good selection by the glass as well. Covid precautions were sensible but not intrusive. Overall an excellent evening, thank you!

Our first time at Harry’s Bistro last night but certainly not our last. Very impressed with the dishes, atmosphere and service. A very pleasant evening.My husband had the lobster starter, which was fantastic; I had the goat’s cheese mousse, which was rich and smooth. Our boys both greatly enjoyed the breaded prawns. The main courses were equally pleasing - pork belly with wonderful crackling, rich lamb faggots, beautiful chicken and a sea-bass fillet to die for. Simply cannot fault the food or the restaurant.

From the initial telephone call to make a booking,through the warm welcome on arrival,the efficient service,friendliness throughout the evening to the check out ,the whole dining experience was a thouroughly enjoyable experience.The food,well that deserves a sentence all to itself!Extensive menu,great choices with some extra “daily specials”if there is not anything to tempt you on the main menu,served with exceptional presentation and tasted as good as it looked.Highly recommended and would certainly return,thank you for a wonderful evening,

We always dine here when staying at Henllys HPB. We dined here twice in January. There’s always a great welcome from Nia and her team . Service is excellent and drinks delivered promptly. There are tasty nibbles and olives to enjoy with aperitifs . The food is always excellent- we have always had a great choice of dishes to chose from and the Welsh Lamb faggots were a real treat this time. Simon the chef is very creative and Nia’s desserts and puddings are so delicious and hard to resist! We are so lucky to have such a great restaurant on site at HPB.

Harry's Bistro is based inside the HPB (Holiday Property Bond) venue near Beaumaris in Anglesey. So most of the diners will be HPB owners looking for a respite from self catering. There is usually a dining facility at most HPB properties, and they are usually good and well supported. Harry's Bistro is no exception. The food is of a good standard and so is the service. The welsh faggots were particularly good. The wine is probably over priced, though you can get a bottle for about £18. I couldn't find a menu outside the place so had to venture in before I found one.The restaurant is divided into two rooms. One room has windows, but the other does not and so is quite dark and the wall decorations are a mixture of murals, paintings and old railway posters, which together make an interesting discussion point.

Bit of a mix up over the booking but once sorted everything was as good as before. Attentive and friendly staff, lovely fresh bread, olives to start. The belly pork with crackling is amazing! Deserts are good too! Reasonable wine selection.

We ate twice at Harry's Bistro during our stay at Holiday Property Bond's Henllys site. There are often 'on-site' restaurants at HPB properties, and where possible we like to support them. Without doubt, Harry's is the best we have experienced. Indeed, some of the best food we have eaten anywhere. Simon and Nia have created a real gem and we shall certainly return next time we are at Henllys. Harry's is clearly popular with local people which is always a good sign.

Have confidence and follow the signs all the way through the golf course to the back of the grand building to find the perfect spot for a restaurant. Ask for the table in the Bay window if you are 4 or more for the view. The food is good, interesting and full of flavour. The service is excellent.

I returned tonight and had a lovely warm welcome from Nia. The food as usual was excellent and of a very high standard. The chicken and brownie were delicious. As was the cod my Mum ordered followed by bread and butter pudding. I can highly recommend this restaurant. I am local and this is by far the best place to eat in my area.

This must be one of the best places to eat in Beaumaris. Service is exemplary, gluten free readily available and even offering to cook dishes separately to ensure gluten free. Food first rate. I can not recommend this place highly enough.

Delightful setting, delicious food and lovely staff. We had tempura prawns and cod with rosti and tummy accompaniments and Herself had the set menu, fish and prawn chowder and Nia" wobbly bread and butter pud all was fab. Can't wait to go again

Stayed at Henley's for 4 nights and ate in the bistro twice. On both occasions we were presented with food that was excellent in every respect. The service was friendly and the atmosphere in the bistro quiet. We were delighted with all the food ordered. On the first night the steak was cooked to perfection and the sea bass on the second night was second to none. Both evenings have been a wonderful experience and we will certainly be returning on our future visits. Thanks to the excellent chef and his wife for making our visit so memorable.

We went for Sunday Lunch following comments on TA. It is a really nice popular bistro in an elevated position with lovely views over the Menai Straits. They have a good varied Sunday Lunch Menu and the standard of food was excellent. The staff were all very friendly and efficient despite the restaurant being very busy. We will definitely come again. Only slight negative is that half the restaurant has good natural light whilst the inner part is rather dark.

Having been recommended Harry's Bistro by Welsh friends we were able to visit one sunny evening. The best restaurant of our trip. We ate a la carte but Mum had the set meal and said the beef was the tastiest she's eaten for years.

The choice of food was both varied and delicious (all four of us had a different main course), it was served promptly and efficiently. The overall restaurant was pleasant with a pleasing aspect. Would recommend. The only downside was the charging for all side dishes.

Booking is essential for Sunday lunch. Our food arrived promptly and tasted amazing,. The quality of meat and fish was excellent. The choice was also good.

My first visit to Harry’s Bistro and I will definitely be back. There were four of us and all our meals were delicious and the service was first class. I had the kidneys to start which were really tasty followed by the belly pork which was so delicious as was the lemon and raspberry desert. Would definitely recommend it.

Good restaurant within the main HPB house (Henllys). Tables well spaced, some views over the golf course and good ambiance. Service excellent from 3 different servers - friendly, professional and efficient. Food was good to very good - starters: smoked haddock fishcake was great, ratatouille sauce competed with it a little. Goats cheese excellent; main course of faggots very nice, but not true faggots - pulled lamb really. Cod with chive sauce, rosti, samphire & spinach - excellent. Photos below. Panna Cotta superb with fresh fruits. Wine reasonably priced and excellent. Overall, a little pricey, but good night out and would recommend.

Just a few minutes from Beaumaris and worth the drive. Enjoyed an excellent meal with friends. will definitely return when I'm in the area.

Not the easiest place to find, well worth it when you do. A short drive/taxi ride out of the centre.

We ate here as a party of 9. Everyone thoroughly enjoyed their food, beautifully served. I had the lamb which was most delicious. Others in the party had cod, steak and duck - all really enjoyed their meals. Staff were very organised too.

We dined here on a Friday evening after a hectic dash along the horribly congested A55. The staff were brilliant, well organised, friendly and efficient.

We went here for my husbands 50th birthday after seeing the reviews on here. So glad we did...food was delicious and looked fantastic service was very good and it was great value for the quality. Highly recommend the faggots and the cod however I imagine every choice would be good.

Moved house a while back and so Harry's is not quite so convenient now so not been for a while. Our mistake forgotten how good it us. Everyone very happy with their choices and only two of us had room for their amazing puddings. Won't leave it so long again!

Delicious evening meal on the last day of our holiday in North Wales in a gorgeous setting. The atmosphere is lovely, the food is fantastic and the staff were very helpful. Really enjoyed Harry’s Bistro!

Looking for somewhere for my birthday & this was the only restaurant in walking distance of our camper van stop. But that was luck indeed as we were not disappointed. Great starters (goats cheese in filo with figs, cured salmon with beetroot) and mains (local sea bass; cod) and understandably prize winning sweets - best cheesecake (banana) I’ve ever had! Great friendly attentive service, bottle of wine, 2 glasses of dessert wine - and all for under £100. Great food, great value!

I’ve dined here several times and have never been disappointed. Nice ambiance, lots of soundproofing features meant the noise level wasn’t annoyingly loud, even though it was full.

This is a popular restaurant so be prepared to book in advance and be flexible about your timing.

We where really looking forward to our Anniversary Meal here at Harry’s but as soon as we checked in it was all down hill from there.

The sat nav ran out of steam, just like the driver,in an effort to find this place, which is behind a golf course and and block of holiday homes.. Nearly going to abandon the mission, when a small hand written notice appeared close to the restaurant.

Harry's is our go-to venue for a reliable Sunday lunch (and occasional evening meal) on Anglesey. Unfailingly welcoming, efficient service from Nia's team, and a choice of Sunday roasts you can't fault. There is a range of options and specials other than roasts, all beautifully cooked. We have been going for years and never been disappointed. Highly recommended.

Staying at Henllys so easy option to visit bistro a two minute walk. Little did I suspect that it would be our best meal out. Serving staff were all friendly and attentive. The food was very well prepared and tasty.

Good food, attentive service but we were the only two diners in the restaurant (Saturday lunch-time) which didn't do much for the atmosphere. Only criticism was that when my wife asked for an espresso martini we were told that the bar didn't have a cocktail shaker!!??

We have eaten in Harry's bistro many times over the years, whenever we visit Anglesey. The food has always been excellent. Our meal last night was was superb. Starters of Tempura prawns - delicious, and goats cheese mousse, also delicious. Mains were pan fried cod with potato Rosti and fennel, and seared salmon on a lemon risotto with capers. Magnificent flavours. A good bottle of wine, but sadly no room for dessert. Staff were attentive and efficient. We will return!

Invited for meal at Harry's, not sure what to expect but the meal I had was really lovely. Sea bass for the main course was just wonderful, the bread and butter pudding was light and full of flavour, possibly the best I have ever had.

We went with no very high expectations ( I am not sure why!)but were greatly surprised and delighted. The Bistro lies within a Holiday Property Bond site north of Beaumaris and is much used by HPB but also open to the public.You need to book especially in the summer.

It looks a bit formal but ! the quality of the food is excelent - the staff exceptional and the BOSS i.e. the owner is here/ there and everywhere ensuring that all is well. A grand meal out

Lovely welcome, beautiful building and very nice meal. We were a large family group. Food was very nice. I had the beef with Yorkshire pudding. The meat was perfectly cooked, pink as it should be and the vegetables -tasty with just the right amount of firmness. Delicious gravy and Yorkshire. We were well looked after by staff and my daughters allergy catered for. Plenty of choice for all tastes on the menu, including puddings. Thank you for making ‘Father’s Day’ a special one.

We received a warm welcome and shown to our table. The waitress explained the menu's available to choose from, including the Specials Board. On placing our order we relaxed and enjoyed the spectacular views of the North Wales coast line. The food and service was excellent throughout and we will look forward to returning soon.

Quite difficult to find being off the beaten track and adjacent to Henllys Golf Club. But, well worth the effort to find it. Super location overlooking the Menai Straits. Very good menu and the food was superb, well cooked and presented. We had smoked salmon starters followed by faggots(Welsh lamb a speciality) and Duck, both dishes were really scrumptious.

A most enjoyable first evening for us in Wales! Staff were friendly and helpful and the food was top notch.

The ambience, service and food are all superb. We have dined here twice this week and enjoyed the visits each time. The crispy belly pork was delicious as was the braised beef. The puddings are equally scrumptious. We cannot praise all at Harry’s too highly.

Having been before and loved it, we were keen to go to Harry’s Bistro again and see if it was a good as 2 years ago and have to say, yes it is.

The bistro is situated within Henllys, the HPB Anglesey home & is also open to the public.

This is our third visit to Harry’s and as always, it was a pleasure.

I ate here today for Mother’s Day. I am local and have eaten here several times. The food and service are always excellent. There is a good choice on the menu and always have specials too. The roast beef and chocolate tart were outstanding. As was the smoked salmon and prawn cocktail. The owner is always very friendly and chatty too. I can highly recommend this restAurant

Well just about found the place the road to the venue was closed because of flooding so we found another way to the Bistro glad we did the meal was out of this world fish cakes starter very tasty then onto the faggots i have never had a faggot like it i won't be able to eat another Brains faggot again it slightly reminded me of pulled pork but lamb in a ball and cheese /biscuits to follow great night staff always coming up to see if everything was ok great night had by all...

Had an excellent evening meal,here, I had told,them I was dairy free and they were scrupulous in their care, even to the extent of making two lovely sweets. Will definitely recommend and eat their in the future without any worries. Thank,you so much.

All those reviews you've already read about the quality of both food and service, they're all true. Especially the ones about Nia's desserts. (We had the brandied bread and butter pudding and the chocolate mousse with strawberries and cream - both exquisite). But an excellent meal was slightly soured when we came to collect our coats. We must have spent 10 minutes rummaging through numerous coats trying to find ours. There are only 5-6 coathooks and each must have contained a similar number of coats. It was a mess! And if other people had been looking for theirs at the same time, it could have turned into a free-for-all! An alternative solution is urgently needed, guys. Then I'll return and hand over that fifth star.

Visited Harry’s today and enjoyed a superb lunch with friends. The food is constantly excellent, the specials board always interesting and the desserts exceptional. You can be assured of a warm welcome from Nia. I highly recommend.

Booked for a Saturday night, the atmosphere was very good, staff are attentive and friendly. There is plenty of choice on the menu to suit all tastes. Well worth a visit.

Booked for a family event whilst away. The place is set out lovely and the staff are very helpful and friendly especially the the lady owner who was so helpful in obtain food for two fussy eaters in our party..for this I am very grateful

We have visited Harry's Bistro several times in the past bur never commented so we thought we should add to the compliments. The venue and surroundings are excellent and all the staff very courteous and knowledgeable which all add up great expectations from the chef. You are not disappointed as the menu and quality of food served is as you would expect. The portions are not huge but I think balanced as you would expect from this sort of establishment. All in all a most enjoyable evening and one I am sure we will repeat on our next visit to Henllys.

Whenever we stay at Henllys we ensure we book in at Harry’s. Food was reliably good and a very warm welcome from our waitress. My husband ordered the braised welsh beef and he was ecstatic. It was a chunk of melt in the mouth beef which contained no fat. The gravy was so rich. If this is on the menu next time we go I will order it... and it is rare for me to eat red meat.

We stayed with friends over the New Year at Henllys and we celebrated in style at Harry's Bistro. For £82/head we had seven courses of absolutely delicious food served by very friendly waiting staff. We also had balloons, party poppers, fancy hats and a rather good singer who really got the party going until midnight. We were all impressed by everything we ate but hats off to the team for also producing a separate seven course vegan menu for our son and not making him feel as though he was a massive inconvenience to them as so many restaurants do - his food was thoughtful, imaginative and very tasty. We had also eaten in the restaurant earlier in our stay and the food quality and ambience was excellent then too. If you are visiting Angelsey make sure you try a meal at Harry's Bistro.

We went for a family meal and we were delighted with our choice of venue. Our food was really good, we all ate different food and our daughter ate vegan and we were all very happy. The staff are superb, extremely friendly and helpful.

Beautiful surroundings, welcomed by a large orange moon floating on the water, with twinkling house lights on the coast. What a lovely Christmas sight! food was awesome! Décor could be updated and shame the restaurant is not in the main house as the food deserves such grand surroundings. Would return.

We have stayed at Henllys many times as HPB members and usually eat 3 or 4 times in the week at Harrys.

We visited for Sunday lunch and weren’t disappointed. I had the beef roast and every mouthful was yummy. The bread and butter pudding was the best I have ever tasted.

Thoroughly recommend. The food was delicious and the staff friendly, welcoming and helpful. Lovely atmosphere.

While staying at HPB Henllys we opted to eat at Harry’s on our final evening. The staff were friendly and attentive, the menu varied and the food delicious - what more could you ask for? And only a stone’s throw from our apartment door!

We were warmly greeted by bar staff who remembered our reservation and the fact that we had asked for a vegan menu as well as the standard one. Our host (who owned the business was extremely friendly and talked through the menu and the specials.

In the HPB at Henlys. Brilliant evening out. Lovely location as always. This is always a great location. The food is excellent. The service enthusiastic and attentive.
