Harringtons in North Lanarkshire

Popped in Friday tea time just as they were opening. We didn't have a booking but they were able to give us a table. The staff were friendly, welcoming and good fun. The food was fabulous. The price was amazing for what we got. We would highly recommend Harringtons and we will definitely be back soon. Thanks to all the staff for a terrific evening.

Came here to celebrate mine and the hubby's birthday with our parents, the restaurant was busy when we arrived for our table so we had a bit of a wait over our booking time, was getting a bit hangry but the staff were so lovely couldn't apologize enough that the large party had run over their time and were still there, couldn't be helped these things happen, was our parents 1st time here my own travelling from Paisley, we were all absolutely delighted with dinner left stuffed and wondering how soon is too soon to book again haha was also kindly given a bottle of fizz as way of apology for the delay with the table and for our birthdays. Well I would like to write a review about this restaurant but because of the terrible attitude of the person on the phone I will never find out. I phoned to make a reservation but the person on the phone had a terrible defensive attitude when I said I had phoned and left a message. As a result of this I will never find out what the place is like as I was put off because of this. It’s a shame as the reviews are good but the attitude of this person has put me off.

I was delighted to introduce a friend to this first class family Restaurant. On entry the restaurant was very busy however time was taken by the staff to welcome us in. My friend had a top class meal of Starter, Roast beef with all the trimmings followed by dessert with coffee and mints. It is suffice to say my friend thoroughly enjoyed the whole experience. Thanks again to Lyn in the kitchen who makes the magic happy. Looking forward to my next visit, hopefully soon.

Harringtons is lovely, we really enjoyed our date night there. There was a nice selection of starters and the set menu was simple yet both dishes we had (breaded haddock and breaded chicken) were cooked to perfection. The atmosphere in the restaurant was really chilled and the staff were all so friendly, it really added to the experience. We wouldn't hesitate to visit next time we're visiting family in Scotland.

Absolutely delightful. Packed out, always a good sign, with lovely wholesome home cooked food, and plenty of it. The staff are lovely, friendly with just the right amount of banter. Excellent customer service and fabulous value for money.

This restaurant is easily the best in a 50 mile radius. We have been enjoying the owner’s hospitality fo over 20 years and was proud to have my son’s graduation dinner here today and as usual it didn’t disappoint

Have been to Harrington on a few occasions before this ,this time was for a 90 th birthday we had two elderly people with us we were in the back room which was really nice but was asked to move as our numbers had dropped this was only by one person moved into the main room which was very noisy and very busy which made it a bit hard for our ladies to hear, so a bit disappointing. We heard about this place some time ago and tried to book it several times before we managed to get a table and now i know why! An intimate place with a nice friendly atmosphere, we were not disappointed. We had the high tea menu which at £1495 including crusty bread and butter, dessert and tea/coffee with nibbles it was a bargain. I ordered the home made steak pie which was one of the best ive had and it was served with two huge salvers with chips, potatoes, carrots and peas and if you wanted it, cauliflower cheese. It was huge and having had the soup to start, i was struggling but didnt want to leave a morsel. Finished with meringue ice cream fruit and cream i was fit to burst. Coffee was served with fudge, chocs and mints. All home cooked food but executed to perfection. John our host was lovely and so helpful, offering us more of everything and attentive without being intrusive. A real family business with his wife as chef and son working in the bar i couldnt fault it. The family sincerely deserve the success they have achieved as well as a base of loyal customers and we hope to return very soon.

Was at my nephews birthday party last night 29th feb. When we arrived John the owner was at the door to welcome us in. The meal was the best I have had in a while and every thing was piping hot and a good portion, John and his staff were very nice and pleasant and made sure that everything was to our satisfaction,and nothing was too much for them.the restaurant has a very nice the restaurant is nicely decorated and has a nice atmosphere. Excellent, yet again. Once again I and my family,three generations, enjoyed a second to none Sunday lunch. Everyone of every age and every taste was really well catered for. Starters, main courses with a fabulous array of vegetables,served in serving dishes, hot and cooked to perfection. Although feeling full to bursting all but one enjoyed a desert followed by tea or coffee, fudge and mints. The restaurant itself is so welcoming, so comfortable with excellent staff who serve without any Pomp or Formality but attend to all needs in a friendly and efficient manner. In an area so lacking in good restaurants this is a place to be cherished.If there was a Michelin star for restaurants who serve this good honest food I would definitely nominate Harrington’s.John and staff work steadfastly front of house.Lyn, the Chef, who although never seen, is the Heart of this kitchen and works really hard to produce this very consistent excellent food.Well done, long may it continue .

Went to harringtons as a party of 7 to celebrate a birthday and a wedding anniversary. Food was absolutely beautiful. There was no way anyone was going home hungry. Service was first class from start to finish. Nothing was too much trouble. This place is a must visit.

If you’re looking for good homemade food this is the place. Very popular so you need to make a reservation. People that work there make you feel like you’re at your mothers for dinner. Really enjoyed steak pie.

Just back from Harrington’s celebrating my granddaughters 18th Birthday and can’t fault anything. The food was great, plenty of choice and nothing was too much trouble. Well run establishment. Will definitely try to get back again.

We booked into Harringtons to use a voucher that my parents had been given as a present. It had been a while since we had been but hopefully wont be a while before we are back. The restaurant was super busy as usual and there was a large party that took over most of the restaurant that was running over the time they were expected to leave so we had to wait however the staff couldn't have been more apologetic. Drinks were delivered with menus while we waited so we could get our food as soon as we were sat at the table. At the end of the meal they insisted on taking orders for desert/coffees or drinks due to the delay. Brillaint place well worth the visit if you get the chance.

We booked Harrington's last night for a family meal with the in laws. We travelled through from Airdrie to try this out.

Visited on 12 Oct. it was our first time here. The High tea menu was excellent value and we chose the steak pie and fillet steak with side portions of veg, potatoes and home made chips which was perfect. The desserts were also delicious. Could also have the choice of a la carte menu. Staff were very helpful and friendly. We will certainly be back can highly recommend.

The food here was truely outstanding so tasty i have been back many many times. The staff were very friendly cheery and helpful and its very reasonably priced.

Seven of us for Sunday lunch. It's been years since we'd been as it's a wee bit out of the way for us, but, it was the same beautiful food and enormous portions that we remembered. We had a lovely afternoon. Its a set mains and dessert, coffee menu with optional starters. Steak pie, fish n chips, haddock mornay, macaroni cheese... We enjoyed all. Staff are fantastic too, ready to replenish side dishes as required(not required as sides were enormous). Only point is that we had someone who has mobility issues and the disabled toilet didn't have a grab rail whish would have made life much easier. Other than this we hade a fabulous afternoon.

What a great Family lunch we had at Harringtons. Well deserved 5 out of 5, and if I could rate them higher I would. I had heard great reports about the food here and I read the trip advisor reviews before we booked. We weren't disappointed, best served food in a long time. The staff were very friendly and went out of their way to make the occasion special for us all. Very grateful and sincere heartfelt thanks to you all for a great experience and contribution to a special family day for us. Will definitely be back and thoroughly recommend this restaurant.

I would highly recommend this restaurant the quality of the food is superb and the staff are a credit to the owner. The food is very hot and you can tell made from scratch it was delicious and you are treated as if you part of the family even though this was our second visit. It was also my nephews 21st Birthday meal and was even made more special with the fact the manager came out with a make shift cake for him which i thought was a lovely touch. We will definitely be back 100%.

Everything is good at Harrington’s. It’s easy to find, only five minutes of the M8, with free parking. So we are already off to a good start. There is always someone to greet you with a genuine warm welcome, and the decor is fresh, pleasant and comfortable.

Going to Edinburgh on business, I was invited to meet a dear friend here for a late lunch, the welcome was warm friendly and most importantly, genuine. John the owner knew everyone who came through the door, it seems like most of the clients are regulars, all on first name terms with staff and other diners alike.
