Lovely evening great place to catch up with friends and family every one is very polite nothing is 2 much trouble. The food was delicious good value for money. We were served by the lovely Vicky F.

Visited this establishment many times prior to COVID for breakfast and have always been happy with food (buffet) and service. Unfortunately, after our visit today we will not be returning for breakfast. We felt like a complete inconvenience, no welcome or smiles. Abrupt service. We did book our table for 10am but rushed as soon as we sat down. As good as kicked out at 10:40. No orange juice or pan au chocolate so not a good start! When asked what we “wanted” my sister said “could I have everything but the meat” so the veggie cooked breakfast and she replied “you have to tell me what you want” I found this really rude and tbh I just wanted to get up and leave! I asked for cranberry juice which I never got. I understand that the pay probably isn’t great, but to be in this kind of profession you need to be friendly and at least pretend you like your job and people!

Me and a friend visited in the evening of8th of June 2021 for drinks and a meal.I ordered a starter of loaded potato skins. LOADED ? Hardly and they were dry cut in half chips for £6.........I paid but said at the time they should revise the wording. Then I had mixed grill with rare steak.......the meal was fine apart from the steak which was ALL gristle and not edible. Will go back for drinks only as the food needs much improvement if you compare to other half decent same price point restaurants, and 2 onion rings on the plate, thought was a bit mean. On a plus good location and friendly staff.

A bit disappointed as I ordered a meal which included potatoes and veg only when I received it I had no potatoes or veg. When questioned why I got told that it was ordered off an old menu and doesn’t come with potatoes and veg. Why did the waitress not say anything when I ordered it. I could of changed to a different meal. Or offered chips.

We have been regular visitors of this pub for years and can honestly say we won’t be returning!Whoever employed the manageress needs shooting! Where are her customer service skills, she clearly didn’t want to be there and had no intention of being friendly/helpful at all! Food was sent back also as the steak was stringy and rubbery, was supposed to be fillet!!! Our waitress was actually very nice which is why I didn’t give the place one star!

Table for 4 last night, it wasn't too busy and the server was pleasant, drinks arrived and we ordered starters and our main, quite a wait and our main arrived, we explained we had not had our starter! Ordered more drinks while waiting and starters arrived all luke warm which for calamari and chicken coujons disappointing! When mains did arrive my partners chicken had been reheated under the grill, probably the one we had seen earlier, dry as old boots which was sent back, the replacement was cold in the middle and inedible so was returned too. Kind of ruined the whole experience of eating out, our first since last year and with family we have not seen since before Covid, quite sad really.

A first visit to this pub, and I have to say was a little disappointed, I had the lamb roast, as did my GF, we both commented on how tough it was, roast potatoes are frozen ones which was a little disappointing, veg was hard which I don't personally, the others had steak which they said was OK, trio of fish was just that no potatoes or chips or anything very disappointing, it's not cheap so I personally expect a little better for the money, restaurant have to be careful,I know its been tough for them, but it you start cutting corners and offering low quality food, people won't come, I certainly won't If I feel I'm not getting value for money, and on this occasion I don't think I did.

CelebrationOh my God I’ve just had the best burger I’ve ever eaten it was served by a beautiful lady called Deborah . The staff were amazing they even had time to bring out some water for my dog can’t mention everybody but Laura was amazing and the Barman was great .Can’t wait to come back next week might have something different next time well done to all the team at Harlow Mill.Even better my boss paid the bill

Have been lots of times and has always been good, we decided to come for christmas meal after they reopened but really dissapointed the food was cold and tasteless the stuffing and pigs in blanket were rock hard the veg was cold and undercooked turkey was ok but cold, the prawn cocktail starter was ok but the dessert was a joke just ice cream with a few after eidht mints thrown in, we came here when they reopened after the big lockdown and I had the surf and turf which my husband had this time both times nowhere as nice as it use to be, the service was excellent but would not revisit unless it improves

Today we had the lovely Sue as our waiter, me and my girlfriend went out for a last minute dinner and Sue made the night with her great service and smile. Just want to put an extra thanks out there

went to the harlow mill this afternoon with my little girl . the food was amazing the steak was perfect just how i had ordered it chips nice and hot . the staff where amazing you could see that it was very busy but had time to have a little chat with us . cant wait to go back again . iam already thinking about what iam going to have next time i go there.

Lovely food, very tasty and excellent customer service from Sue (who was run off her feet) The only reason I didn’t give a 5 is because it was chilly in the restaurant...granted it was 12 noon but it should be warm when you eat

We have been to this restaurant a few times. The food has always been up to standard. Every time we go there we hope that Sue will be our waitress. She is attentive, friendly and helpful. Thank you Sue for the great service.

My family and I would highly recommend the Beefeater on the edge of Harlow/Sawbridgeworth.After looking forward to a visit to Pizza Hut all afternoon, upon entry we were met with a young and fed up lad. He told us we werent able to use cash at this establishment and needed to download their app to order our food or even be seated. We ended up standing in the entrance whilst our phone tried hard to download their app, to no avail (this had taken approx 15 mins at this stage). I asked if we were able to verbally place our order as the girls were starting to get hangry and irritated to which this fed up young lad said 'if i have to'. Im afraid I had lost my patience at this stage, their app was not downloading, my back was starting to ache and we were getting no where fast. I decided at this stage to tell Pizza Huts 'jobsworth' their new rules and awful customer service upon entry is losing them money and custom and we promptly left. I was not going to spend our hard earned money where basic customer service was a chore.We decided to pull in at the Beefeater as the kids were fed up after waiting so long to find somewhere that Covid had not tainted. Whilst the Covid rules were in place, the staff at Beefeater were not overly anally retentive or rude and the restrictions were barely an issue. The service at Beefeater was a welcomed surprise and I had to compliment them on their professionalism, service and manners within 20 minutes of being in there. It was like a breath of fresh air. We were met at the front door (after only waiting a few minutes) was then led to a table (after asking our girls where THEY would like to sit) and was given a seat with a veiw (a small jesture that goes a very long way) we were spoken to like customers and NOT selfish, disgusting, lurgy spreaders which made a huge change. The young lad who had greeted us and then served us was kind, polite, funny and engaged with my girls without making them feel like they had the lurgy either. We were NOT expected to jump through hoops in order to spend OUR money with them.Our food came fast, was hot and tasty (or 'deelish' if you asked my girls)' the drinks were refilled almost immediately and the atmosphere within the staff team on that particular shift was relaxed and extremely welcoming. My girls said that they wanted to go back the very next day, which is a huge compliment really as they are fussy about eating (or my cooking possibly). We were given a little Christmas pack in a bag when our meal was finished, which gave us an idea of what their Christmas dinner and dine would be like and compared to what I have observed so far, they are worth having a look into.Covid may be a part of our everyday lives at the present moment, but in our small opinion, it shouldn't mean manners are out of the window, it shouldnt mean no greeting smile and it shouldn't mean no eye contact or being made to feel like serving us will be a chore. Asking your customers to jump through hoops without being seated for upto 15 minutes is a huge NO NO for me.We are the paying customer and even with restricted movement on a daily basis it is our choice where and who we spend our money with as far as I am concerned. Beefeater in our small opinion has not lost sight of this and will definately be seeing us again soon. Hope you all have a similar experience too.

Booked a table for 4 for a birthday celebration in the family. We had a nice waiter called Lee, who was great with his customer service, and very “Covid savvy”. Had a very large and fabulous meal that was enjoyed by all. Fantastic service, atmosphere and food! What more could you ask for! 5* from me!

I’ve always had a great steak here and superb service. The service was top notch as usual and thanks to them in these trying times, however, the steak was the worst I have ever had in the beefeater full of gristle and so so thin, about 1 cm, I was very disappointed. I can understand that times are hard but the quality of the steak was appalling and, in my opinion, the chef a should be embarrassed to serve a steak of this quality. I will not be going to the beefeater again for a very long time.

Took refuge here from adjacent Premier Inn and got a warm & friendly welcome despite facemasks. Dinner provided decent food and excellent service from Laura, even though like other staff she was rushed off her feet. Great pity though that, in these times, Beefeater have resorted to only issuing the tiny paper napkins that are wrapped around the cutlery - tissues out of a cardboard cube box are bigger and stronger. Eventually, some of the originals were found & supplied to us.Breakfast was a different experience, same friendly service from the staff on duty (but same atrocious napkins). Unfortunately, there were nowhere near enough of them - they had to keep breaking off to see to customers entering & waiting for tables. A host was definitely missing!As a result it was a long wait for food, looked like only 1 chef in kitchen and plates stayed too long on the pass before taken to tables, and it was at best luke warm on delivery. Also, items ordered were omitted. Even the "fresh" Costa Coffee came tepid. We ended up walking out, our breakfast thankfully being effectively "free" from what we saved the previous evening by pre paying for a "meal deal"

The food is good here and the staff are friendly they are also very quick with orders and are very nice to guests

I took my daughter for her birthday meal at Harlow Mill Beefeater. On entering we saw a young girl worker with her Jean's hanging from her bottom and her underwear on show. After a short wait we were seated by our server, who clearly had an issue and made us feel very unwelcome. The starter flat bread and mushrooms were fine albeit microscopic amount of mushrooms! The main course arrived, we ordered sticky ribs, fries and coleslaw. The ribs were definitely not marinated in a bbq sauce and almost tasted like gone off boiled meat served cold! Coleslaw was sloppy and one bite of an onion ring resulted in a mouthful of oil! On complaining the server became confrontational and took our Genuine concerns personally. The birthday meal was a disaster, the food standards are appalling and the service matched the awful food! We will never return and would advise people to not celebrate any special occasion at Harlow Mill. Come to think of it any occasion!

Lovely evening, staff are friendly and informative and really welcoming. Food was amazing. Set up really well considering covid restrictions and we all enjoyed our evening out. Would recommend and return.

We were unsure at first but don't be put off by its appearance. Service is excellent, beer and wine kept well. Food menu has changed to be instep with the times. Check out the receipt for cost. We enjoyed super service, really hot food and Morgan our main waiter was terrific. Well done Harlow Mill.

Haven't been out much because of Covid, so still wary of restaurants but had a lovely meal this afternoon. We sat outside, the tables were well distanced and clean, staff polite and helpful and plenty of hand gel and signage relating to the virus.

I’d not been out for breakfast since COVID 19 so wasn’t sure what to expect but everything was done very smoothly and well organised. The COVID rules, if anything, make things smoother and all the staff are very polite and friendly. Made an unpleasant trip that little bit easier :)

Awful experience. The toilets are dirty, never had a proper clean. The salad was dead, chips were a child portion for a burger dish. Tables outside were unwashed and full of dishes. Will never go to such a low level restaurant! Shocking!

We were a party of five and were shown to table 29/1 which is comfortable and suits us fine. We were impressed by the Corona virus procedures they had inplace and we all felt very safe. This was our first visit here since March when the lockdowns started and so was looking forward to a nice evening with good food. The staff were very cheery and our server Pamela L, was very good but the food let the evening down. I ordered the sirloin steak cooked medium rare with a side salad in place of chips. The steak was very thin and looked more like a minute steak rather than a thick juicy prime steak as advertised and was cooked medium/well done. It was also very chewy and not very pleasant. One of our party ordered the mixed grill which comes with a 4oz rump steak which could not be cut with the steak knife and he complained and it was quickly replaced with another one which was just as bad. He took this one home to feed to the dog who will eat any thing. Beefeater used to be renound for serving quality steaks cooked to perfection but something has gone seriously wrong somewhere in the supply chain and strongly suspect that cheaper cuts are being ordered and at the same time hiking up the prices which now match quality steak houses. It is a shame that quality and preperationof the food is slipping and we shall think twice before returning soon.

After checking the social distancing. We asked if they had a table as had not pre booked. The signage, one way system, hand gel, screens up and not all tables open, menues one time use, they were well prepared for a safe environment. Our waitress stayed socially away for our order and served drinks on a tray left on the table. All this made for a comfortable meal out. The food was cooked to our order and we enjoyed it. We would definitely return.

Having been to this Beefeater many times over the years, I was very dissapointed with my last visit. I feel the place has gone right down hill.. Whilst I was impressed with there social distancing thry had in place. i.e screens i nbetween tables, staff keeping their distance and a one way system. The food was absolutely atrocious.. I ordered my usual prawn cocktail, rib-eye steak and my daughter had fish and chips. Prawn cocktail 5 prawns with a stale tasting sauce and some very limp lettice. My rib-eye as thin as a bit of paper( I acrually questioned myself if it was even a rib-eye) was stone cold. and def not cooked to my request of medium..I backed it straight away and it was replaced, not very hot the second time and by then I had eaten the chips and salad ...so just ended up with a steak on its own.My daughters fish and chips was so greasy she left it all. This was the first visit to a restaurant since lockdown I wish I hadnt bothered. We will definately not be going to this Beefeater ever again... They need to take a good look at there chefs.. The place is a joke.

Just had a relaxing meal with our dance team at the Beefeater. Took advantage of the 50% off which always makes food tastier. Very friendly & efficient staff who sorted all hour requirements.laura m our waitress served up all our food in record time with a big friendly smile, & knows how to keep customer happy. Although busy all rules & regulations adhered to so off to work off all that tasty food & will be returning next week to enjoy more of the delicious menu.

Birthday meal with friends. The offer of 50% rather than just the £10 from the government was excellent. Staff all very helpful, social distancing process enabled a safe environment.Food was excellent and Thank-you for changing my pudding to my weird taste.Recommend to book especially during August deal.Thanks

Visited after couple of years. Service is friendly and efficient, Covid friendly etc etc.., but the food is so overpriced its mad. The standard and presentation is scruffy and tasteless, below Wetherspoons standards yet the prices are 3 times as much. No problem with spending the hard earned pound but what is served is on the verge of an embarassment. Wont be going back again for another few years...

Just returned from this restaurant and overall slightly disappointed. Haven’t been here for a number of years, but fancied a drive out of my local area and wanted to see after renovations what it was like. Car park big enough to find spaces as it was raining, so happy there. Nice and covid safe with sanitiser on entry, which makes for a confident start . Not very busy which was good for service, had a laugh with waitress which is always nice. Starters all good but my main wasn’t very hot and had to send it back for a slight heat up. My other party members enjoyed their food but also said not very hot but didn’t want to complain. Felt a bit rushed after that and came away slightly disappointed. Would go back again but not too soon . Sorry

MORGAN served us and was an absolute pleasure. He was kind and approachable. Quick service lovely food. Morgan was fantastic

As they will well know, everyone who is a member recently got sent vouchers. However what they don't tell you is that you can not use them in august. I for one would have ordered differently had I known but the first time they feel it appropriate to advise you that their payment terms have changed is when you try to use your vouchers on receipt of the bill. Terrible. I for one wont be going back!

Moored our boat at the visitor moorings very close by. Originally just popped in for a drink, but was so impressed with the staff and service we decided to stay and eat.The social distancing process and set up is second to none, with screens in between tables which are totally unobtrusive, but give a great feeling of comfort.The food was great, good value and uncomplicated, and the service was excellent. Returned for breakfast in the morning which was equally s good.

Well organised in respect of Covid 19. Pleasant lunch with good service. Food ok but could have been larger portions! Benefited from new government eat out to help out scheme.

popped in to the harlow mill last night for a few drinks . i sat in the beer garden the sun was out it was a hot evening . the bar staff where amazing my drinks where brought to my table . the managers where running the drinks out and didnt spill a drop off my nice cold beer. they even found time to bring my dog out some cold water .

Had breakfast here with our daughter and grandkids as we hadn’t seen them due to lockdown. The staff were accommodating and friendly. The layout has one way systems in place and the food is cooked to order and brought to the table. Limited menu for continental breakfast but cooked has a great choice sadly no poached eggs. The food was tasty and drinks were the normal get your own hits drinks but fruit juice was brought to the table for you on request. Enjoyable experience with the family. Usual track and trace and COVID sanitising in place and as I said one way systems and plastic screens between tables they have obviously tried to make everyone feel safe as well as make them welcome. Thank you.

Just come back from a lovely lunch at Harlow mill beefeater. Very well organised. Very clean. Plastic screens in between tables. Lovely food. I had ribs and chicken. My mum had fish and chips. Followed by chocolate brownies and bottle of wine. Excellent staff and service. Nice meal out.

Covid 19 precautions were excellent. The tables are separated by clear screens which make a cosy intimate atmosphere. Hand sanitizer available everywhere. Chefs working wearing visors, which looked most uncomfortable. Staff were very welcoming and our waitress Julie was excellent. I believe the menu is reduced but there was still a good choice. Our meal was very tasty, served promptly. A very good experience, it has given us confidence for further outings.

We were a party of six and booked a table for dinner @20.00 on arrival we were shown to table 39 which was very comfortable. We were surprised that the place was not busy at all which is a sign of the times with people staying at home as recommended. This trip out will be the last our group do until such times as the country returns to normal and the virus dies out. We all had lovely meals served by Laura M and shall miss coming here and having a great evening

Pleasant location next to a river would be great on a summer evening.Good service and food to be had.

Very rude waitress had to send food back as ordered steak medium rare which I had to tell the waitress as she never asked in the 1st place. When it came out it was more then well done. I sent it back. when it came back out still not able to eat it, was then told by the rude waitress that steak is chewy and to basically get on with it. Very expensive for the quality of food and very rude staff.

We visited here after most probably not going for nearly a year and we didn’t book so sat in the bar area to eate and I have to say the food wasn’t great especially for the price

John and I have been going to the Harlow Mill every week for 15 years and love it . Tracey and the team are so helpful and friendly it’s like meeting up with friends . The menu is great with something for everyone and it near where we live .

Ate here whilst staying in the Premier inn next door. To be fair they were busy but that can have coem as no supprise. On entering the pub we were at a head of a queue of about ten people, took ages to be seated. When we were seated it took ages to place our order. We were in a possition where we could see the pass and food was sat under the lights on the counter for ages. When our food came it was the same so the food was dryed out. The next morning was even worse, we had to go and find a waitress to get a table and again when seated waited ages to order. We then waited ages for dryed out greasy food. The room was packed, only one person cooking and 2 serving, worst case of cheep skate managment i have ever seen. Eggs over cooked bacon like card. The thing is Beefeateds are not cheep, taking my score from poor to Terrible

Didn’t have a table booked but didn’t have to wait long the food was brilliant staff was good too may make this our weekly lunch date 😁

Keep on coming back and for the right reasons! My dinner was amazing as usual,our amazing waitress was super attentive and nothing was too much to ask for, food was hot, steak cooked to perfection and an all round great experience, cannot wait to come back next month!

Was told to come in last night due to bad experience last time. Food was again Luke warm. Chips were practically cold! Peppercorn sauce was not hot either. The servers knew that we were there having a comp meal and we could hear them talking about it at the till. A boy called Dan served us and gave us the bill and shouted so loudly about us not realising that the side to go with main would be chargeable. For at least 2 minutes he belittled us and made my boy so upset they had to leave. There was another customer at another table who shook his head and told me that the waiter Dan should be ashamed of himself. You don't shout at or humiliate customers. The worst customer service we have had in a long time! Dan, Shame on you. You are completely full of yourself and should never work as a waiter nor in customer service.

Visited Wednesday night, they were clearly short staffed by still received fantastic service. Was seated promptly, ordered our drinks and food and thoroughly enjoyed the whole evening

Beefeater is one of the best places I have been for a meal, the food and the service is amazing and the staff are all so lovely. Top service! Top restaurant! Top food! Can’t wait to go back for my next meal!!

Went down to the Harlow Mill beefeater again and was thoroughly impressed. All the staff were very friendly, and the food was delicious.

i only ever eat steaks when iam in the usa wow it was amazing for one minute i just shut my eyes and i thought i was in new york.

4 of is visited on friday lunch time, it was very busy due to half term.but food and service was still spot on. Enjoyable lunch with friends and will return again soon

Went back to this restaurant after saying I would not go back ever again. We were told it had improved and it had. The chefs area is where you sit and you see your food being cooked. The staff were attentive and service good even though it was busy. The lunch was great value and very good and next time i am in the area will go back

Most of the time you do not need to book. Nice menu. Service good. Improved since renovations.Cleaner and much nicer.

Have visited Harlow Mill 3 times in the last month they do what is called 5@5 first visit my wife and I had for a starter cheesey garlic bread followed by Fish & Chips 2nd visit wife had Scampi I had Gammon steak 3rd visit we shared crispy cheesey potato dip followed Fish & Chips again all the times the staff have been very friendly & polite and very helpful and pleasant so in all they are very good value will go again very shortly Trev

Went for a catch up with the family booked here as in the past been good, service seemed ok at first but soon went down hill, chicken was meant to have crispy skin but was limp veg wasn’t great seemed like it had been around all week and gravy not hot, roast potatoes dry inside, the hunters chicken was ok, the best thing looked like the lamb roast and was said it was nice, puddings were served slap dash they couldn’t be bothered with presentation and it showed was going to go back to take our other side of the family but after today will be going else where!

Atmosphere good, quite busy so I thought handy we booked. I had scampi and skinny fries it was only £5. I paid extra for side salad. For the price point it was fine. Waitresses were welcoming and I will return. At the end of the day that's a plus in anyone's book

We can last week, party of 14. Fantastic service by Jo. Everyone had great meals, steaks, chicken and fish plus a gluten free option. Great choice. Will be back again. Thanks to the team for helping us say bye to a great team member.

Basic Rump steak was great Take advantage of the Premier Inn meal deal. It limits your free choice but I couldn’t have eaten a nicer steak. Perfectly cooked, tender etc. Very fast coming out too.

We were a party of five and booked table 6 which is very comfortable and offers lots of room. The place was very busy which is good to see and it gives a good "buzz" to the evening.Our server, Leona S, took our drinks and food orders very promptly and nothing was to much trouble for her and she was very bright and cheery. I had the fillet steak cooked medium/rare with a dressed salad in place of chips and the dish was delicous and very filling. The rest of the party all had different choices with no complaints from any body and we all had a great evening out and shall certainly return again soon.

This is a bit of a late review, but I just wanted to say what a wonderful time we had on Christmas Day

Went for a family meal, parking out the front is a bit of an issue, we eventually did get parked.

Food and service terrible. Every piece of food ordered dry and tasteless and cold it was late with no apology even . No skinny fries which was part of the meal, and when we asked for them once again no apology and they told us we said we told them no fries which we didnt. They finally turned up 30 mins after we finished our food cold. Once again no apology the waitress didnt even look us in the eye. When ordering drinks we had to ask for glasses if the drinks were in a bottle ie appetizer juice drinks etc! Nobody behind the bar they were not even busy we will never come back and not recommend. The customer service was appalling. Tuna and chicken taste the same tough and dry.

We visited here for a Boxing Day meal. The service was outstanding and the food was amazing. Already planning on booking for next Christmas. Well done Beefeater 👍

Great Christmas team meal. We booked for 20 of us and received a great service. Meal was great, whole team enjoyed. Dan and Laura looked after our group the whole night. Service was excellent. Highly recommended. We all had food from the festive menu.

Came in for a quick lunch with my family, was shown to a table very promptly. And our waitress came over straight away and asked if we wanted any drinks. We all went for a steak and they were cooked perfectly

We had a thoroughly enjoyable late lunch yesterday afternoon with my mum & sister. We all had scampi & chips & peas. It was devine & perfectly cooked. The chips are gorgeous & fat & crispy. Our waitress was lovely to called Lauren. She was so friendly & chatty & nice as were the other staff. It was lovely & warm in there to on such a cold day & gentle music playing in the background & it looked lovely & christmassy to. It was also a bargain at £5 each! Thank you so much we look forward to visiting again soon.

Been here quite a lot but never felt that it was anything to write a review on but this time was different! Had steak and lobster and I must admit, it was cooked to perfection and was the best meal I have had in an extremely long time. Bottomless coke too. For a family of 3, the price was reasonable and the service was brilliant. Definitely try the steak and lobster!

6 of us went on a busy Friday evening. All of our food was great and the service was excellent. It was a really pleasant evening!

have eaten there several times the food is ok but pub grub i guess most of the food comes frozen .but they charge far to high the only time i eat there is when they give 40% off and i am in a hurry

Its a lovely setting of this venue which is set by the river it’s marvellous if the weather is right.

Good value steak house, well worth a visit. Good food and friendly staff. My wife and I took our granddaughter there for lunch which we all enjoyed. Will definitely go again.

We really enjoyed our meal this evening. Food was prompt and delicious! Service was excellent. All in all a very good experience, looking forward to returning.

A great last minute meal. Salad and steak for me tuna steak for him. Staff very good, don’t come over every 5 mins like some places. Good customer care.

Had a lovely evening, not only do they do food for the meat eaters, but they also do a good selection for anyone on a plant 🌱 base diet, that was also very tasty. Servers are very helpful and lovely especially the host Carly.

We visited the beefeater with a group of friends on a friday night, the place was packed which was a great sign.

Booked well in advance and asked for a quiet space as we had needs within our party. We were seated in the busiest part of a very over crowded restaurant. Our order took 40 mins to be taken he food was wrong and cold when it came out. The waitresses were friendly and apologetic but we're clearly under staffed.

Visited with my friend at lunch and was pleasantly surprised to find a great value lunch menu. Lots of items for £5 each. I picked the steak burger which was really tasty. All the food was very nice and the service was very efficient

With much debating on writing this Ive decided to tell you my story! So me and my family went to this beefeater for my brothers birthday . We paid the bill and left ? The service wasn’t great if iam honest) 4 months later the bill came out of my account ( which I automatically thought I’d been charged twice! Turns out I wasn’t charged first time! So they decided to take the money back 4 months later! I contacted the restaurant several times in which I had no response! I had to complain further up the line! This money wasn’t allocated for four months later and so my mortgage didn’t get paid! The restaurant said there wasn’t anything they could do except offer me £20 compensation which I thought was an insult! Then they closed my case! We won’t be going back there! Management are terrible and head office are worse!!! Iam just lucky Barclays have a better understanding!

Lady with blonde bob is so rude. Staff members were nice to us and very accommodating. Food was great but manager brings it all down

Visited the Harlow Mill Sunday 27 October with my daughter and Fiance. The chap at Reception was welcoming & friendly & although we had to wait for about 5 minutes we were swiftly shown to our table. The menu is extensive, reasonably priced and varied. Felda our waitress couldn't have been more friendly or welcoming & right from the get go we were in a really nice environment with efficient staff & delicious food. I have to say that there was 1 occasion before where the service was the other end of the scale but this time it made our whole eating experience a pleasure which was especially nice as we were celebrating my late Mum's Birthday and also the finalising of my daughter's wedding plans! With the Beefeater you know what you are getting but the chefs here t Harlow Mill are really good and it just makes for easy, enjoyable dining out. And we all had the roast dinners 2 beef (13.99) and 1 chicken(11.99) with extra roast potatoes and Yorkshire puds. The portions were great, really good choice of veg & delicious! Definitely worth a visit:)

Went for Sunday dinner, I wanted the Oven Baked Camembert for a starter after waiting about 10 minutes I was told they had run out. There was not another started I wanted so I sat while my husband ate his which was the chicken wings, he said they were good. For the mains I ordered the ribs and my hubby ordered the mixed grill. My ribs were nice but the mixed grill was not nice the sausages were burnt and the steak was so thin it could only be cooked well down unless you ate it raw. Hubby complained about the sausages and was told as they were cooked on the griddle that is how they come. The waitress took them away and said she would get better ones. Then she came back and said they would need to be cooked from raw and would take a while. Hubby told her not to bother as he would have ate the rest of meal by the time the sausages were cooked. The rest of the mixed grill was not what you would expect for the price they charged and in the end he left most of it and told the manager he wasn't going to pay for it which they excepted. They offered us the desert menu which we refused as we felt enough was enough. We have been to this Beefeater before and we will never go again. The waitress was lovely and I felt for her as they were so busy she was run off her feet but did try to serve us the best she could.

Turned up last night for a meal, all was going fine, ordered a bottle of wine but then changed our minds which was fine. Food came out and my mum has to send her meal back as it wasn’t cooked to how she asked it, got told she was going to get a fresh piece of steak, only for the steak she sent back to come back out black and still rare in the middle. My mums boyfriend ordered a mix grill for the sausage the be raw as well as the ham. The steak was too tough to cut through and chew. My boyfriend got chicken and chips and he said it was fine. Also mine was fine but I had a very big bit of fat running through the middle so I had to spit most of it into my napkin. The bill came to £128.50 and was charged for the wine that we did not have, when we questioned this we was then told that we was lying about not having the wine, finally got the refund for the wine but was very disappointing. Mum and her boyfriend won’t be staying at the premier inn behind the beefeater again because of this experience which is a shame because they come down to visit me very often. Such a shame. Hope the staff get more training in customer servicing as this was horrible. To be called liers because of the wine, put I dampening to the end of a very good evening. This is now the second time it’s happened, but we gave the another chance for it to happen again. So would not recommend for mediocre food and bad service.

We were a party of five and on arrival, we were shown to table 6/1 which is in a recess and is very comfortable. We were warmly greeted by the duty manager who introduced us to Lois S who was to be our server for the evening. We all ordered different dishes and there were no complaints from any of the party. the food was very good as was the services of Lois S and shall certainly return in the near future.
