Hares Fish and Chips in Carmarthenshire

Shocked spent £15 on food from this chippy for the first time and Iv waited 1 hour for it to come it’s turnt up with 1 chips missing when I ordered two meals the chips I did have were tiny I could pick them up with one hand , I ordered a burger and asked for cheese and Mayo it came plain , bite of my rissole had a piece of card or car-board in it. Really upset that Iv had to spend so much money on food I didn’t even receive, and rung up to tell them and they were positive they gave me everything I ordered and the chips were apparently a “large”

Stunning food and great customer service

Popped here for dinner whilst staying down the road. Everything was freshly cooked whilst we waited and was absolutely delicious!!

1 hour 40 minute waiting time for food then lying about why it’s taken so long think all your staff are on different pages need to get the story straight before making excuses up!

First time we have been to Hare's. Went in just for some chips. Lovely friendly welcome. Really tasty & fresh chips. Will be going again tonight to try the fish & sausages :-)

So I visited hares chip shop twice now and I nothing but good things to say about the place, the staff are so welcoming to everyone that enters they’re doors and one your greeted your food is cooked with absolute perfection and detail! let’s talk about the food quality, the food quality here is just right a lot of time and detail has gone into providing quality food, the food is full of flavour and always piping hot! Ordered from here a few times now. The chips were mediocre at best and the battered sausage was undercooked and inedible.

Lovely food, everything was cooked to perfection, the fish was lovely and crispy not at all greasy, the chips were also crispy exactly how I love them, very friendly staff, would go out of their way for you, highly recommended.

Food is stunning and worth the wait and friendly staff and always freshly cooked

Had delivery and collection. Good has always been fresh, hot and good quality.

Really enjoyed our meal fish was absolutely gorgeous, not one bone found in it also was cooked fresh for us. The portion size was massive and the service was brilliant. Highly recommended this chippy and we will definitely be back

Appalling food and service. Food arrived cold. Contacted the shop to explain, to be told I was being rude and to put the food in the microwave, to warm it up. I was then told if I wanted my food hot to put in the delivery comments to ask for my food to be hot. I was then told I have been blocked as a customer for making this complaint as I was being rude. I would not recommend this place at all as they will not give you hot food or offer you a refund. Youll be shouted at down the phone when trying to rectify the problem.

Chip was ok but I seen someone scratching their behind in the kitchen very disappointed as he then touched my sausage which I did not eat I didn’t say anything but won’t go there again I wanted to enjoy this chippy hope changes are made x Sam

Took an hour to arrive, then when it did the Chips were nearly stone cold, and barely edible. And we had to order items we didn't want to for their delivery quota, just to be charged another 3.50 for the delivery. Absolutely not worth it

Had food a few weeks ago and I would say it's the best fish and chips in our area by a mile

I used to go here daily in year 11 as I would get a student discount and the prices were cheap. I see why they are cheap now as so was the taste in the food. The fries were always under cooked and the chicken too greasy. The outside says 5 star for health policy but I can tell they have not changed that in ages as its always dirty in the kitchen Id give the health policy a 2 at best. If you are starving with little to no money then yea sure go here but if you don't want a unsettling stomach then just don't bother going

The chips are pale and disgusting. The sausages are very spicy and it takes a long time to wait for the food.

Went here Saturday had fish and chips the fish was ova cooked and wen I asked for another one he was very rude and refused me a refund so I left my food the and walked out

Wouldn't go back to this place again, now use ocean blue, new one opening soon in Llandybie.

Usually buy our Large Cod and Chips there, good food, clean restaurant, take aways meals cooked to order and pleasant service.

Ordered fish and chips but the worker gave me pea’s and gravy and when i asked for my money back he called me ungrateful and asked me to leave

Great chip shop in the centre of Ammanford. Sells a wide selection of different foods ie pizzas and chicken. Tasty food, can take a while to cook but worth the wait as they are freshly cooked for each customer. Takeaway or eat in available. Not the cheapest but worth the extra. Friendly staff who are welcoming and friendly. Centrally located close to the Bus station. Try to avoid between 12pm and 1pm as the shop is clogged with kids from the local comprehensive meaning a long wait.

Called today on a bank holiday, seemed pleasant enough until my Wife opened up her tray of chicken & mushroom pie with chips. The pie was so hard the plastic fork snapped, she questioned was the pie chicken and mushroom as the meat including the gravy were dark in colour and did not smell right! It was chicken & mushroom! It was badly decomposing! We returned it back to the shop immediately. She received another pie but refused the chips as they were hard also, no offer of a apology or a refund for the chips. We bought a jumbo sausage for our dogs who also turned their noses up at the strange yellowing flesh within it. This establishment has 5 stars for food hygiene!!! Pity the inspectorate didn't attend today as it would have probably received a zero!
