Harbour House in Dumfries & Galloway

We ate at The Harbour House Hotel twice during our stay at Port Patrick. Both the food and service were excellent. We enjoyed Mussels, Crab stack, Thai Fish cakes.

Popped in for lunch after a coast path walk. Really friendly staff. Ordered a Cajun chicken wrap and scampi with chips. Both were well prepared, nicely presented too. So glad to see places like this surviving after COVID-19. Well done - a definite recommendation.

One night stay at The Harbour. Delightful Port Patrick. Had a very nice night's stay with evening meal and breakfast. Room was at the side and in the Garden View room. Perfect rooms very clean, Covid friendly. Evening meal very well presented and piping hot. Enjoyed the meal and would certainly recommend it. Thanks again for making us feel very welcome. Jamie works his socks off by the way

We stayed here the night before taking a ferry to Belfast. Me, my wife and baby had a nice evening. Food was cracking, breakfast was unreal. Beds need new mattresses to be honest. Staff was great especially the guy serving us at dinner and breakfast. Would love to come here when covid is gone! Have to say our room could have easily been a suite if there was less beds and new mattresses. Would still love to come back here and to Portpatrick once covid has gone!

Stayed a 2 nights dinner bed and breakfast midweek break in this lovely location with views out to the Irish sea early December. Superb food both for breakfast and evening meals. Although there is no parking within hotel grounds there was street parking within a short distance. Staff were very friendly and helpful. Room was large enough for 1person, warm very clean and a sea view over harbour. I didn't use my car during stay as I walked everywhere. I will definitely book another stayst the Harbour side. Covid restrictions were in place and I felt very safe staying there.

Honestly the worst place I have been for dinner. The food is terrible and the staff are rude. There is a lovely hotel 3min walk called mount steward hotel. The staff are lovely and the food quality far exceeds the low quality microwave food served by obnoxious staff here!! I paid for dinner here and left and went to mount steward hotel.Also their bar has no beer on tap only cans. Says it all! AVOID

i feel i need to share my experience with fellow travellers to make people aware about this hotel, i booked this hotel through booking.com well in advance of stay as free cancellation was offered, after the covid restrictions changed i had to cancel my family trip, i personally phoned the hotel to advise of cancellation and also contacted booking .com to advise, within 5 mins i had cancellation from booking.com confirmed via email, thought no more about it until checked my on line banking and discovered that the hotel had taken full payment for the 3 rooms booked.Thinking this was a mistake easy to fix i contacted the hotel, left a few messages as the never answer the phone but no reply, tried again and got through to a member of staff, i explained my situation, told them i had left a few messages and asked when i should expect my refund, at this point i was told by said member of staff, QUOTE, " dont be so cheeky"Quite unbelievable, however was promised a manager would contact me the next day, next day nothing , the day after nothingPhoned again, no answer, left message, no reply, phoned again next day got someone who assured me he would leave my name and number on managers desk, still nothing, i am persistent and phoned again the next day, spoke to a lady who checked the system and told me that they had not cancelled my booking but put it on hold?????, despite my specific instruction to cancel, when i asked her why she could not answer but said she would call back which in fairness she did, to tell me that booking.com owed me the money , despite my bank statement clearly stating the hotel taking the money, again she could not answer so said a manager would call me, guess what i am still waiting.I have now escalated to citizens advice bureau, my bank and booking.com but its sad that in these hard times for all of us a business would treat a customer in this way, 0 customer service from this establishment, not interested once they have your money, beware

We stayed for 1 night in room 6 the family room with our 9 year old. The room itself could do with updating and a paint as there were stains on the walls and the windows were dirty. Room was cold at night and after about 2 hours just pressing all the buttons got one radiator to work. Food was lovely, massive Scottish breakfast in the morning. Was a little cold however as its a Pandemic doors really need to be open. There was a one way system in place my husband used it most the time as no one else was he stopped as you had to pass people eating in the conservatory. Table service started off however as it was getting busy they let us take drinks out our self, the poor waitress was freezing. Tables outside had patio heaters 3 out of 4 worked. The village itself is lovely and would definitely return to Port Patrick for a visit.

The food itself here was very good and the portions were massive. I struggled to finish the burger (never usually a problem for me) which must have been nearly an inch thick. My partner also enjoyed the mussels and her side of chips were massive.A few weird things about eating here though. The one-way system seemed to be ignored by other guests on the way in and our restaurant table was right next to the bar to the extent we thought the waiter would be joining us. Also, giving someone a wire bowl with massive gaps in it to use for their discarded mussel shells is not ideal!That aside would be happy to return.

Stopped for a drink in the beer garden which was nice, but when we moved indoors we very quickly left. No enforcement of social distancing / no one wearing masks and didn't feel clean

Stopped in for a coffee recently. The tables inside were filthy, I assume from breakfast service, and the server was leaning against the bar on their phone, not interested. Coffee was lukewarm when it turned up so asked for a hot one, came back the same but watered down and tasteless. Such a disappointment.

This was a welcome surprise. Really good eating on the harbourside with a nicely appointed restaurant and also outside tables to sit and enjoy the sun. The sun? Yep. Portpatrick has its own localised weather. Fish is of course plentiful and daily specials make the mouth drool. The Hotel is very well organised in terms of Covid-19 safeguards and implemented these with admirable consistency

We visited only once and we were not asked for our details for track and trace purposes. Just didn't feel safe in these Covid times so we only stayed for a drink and left.For us to return they would need to seriously improve the Covid precautions and general cleanliness of the place.Sad to leave a bad review in such hard times.

Nice location and excellent to see the world go by if you sit outside . Good pint and tea here . Very clean and good covid 19 practices in place . The only downside and I don’t know why was it was not a welcoming atmosphere . Maybe it’s because of the virus !

Tasty pub food and good service. I asked for a Malbec and although they didn’t have one, our waitress proactively offered to walk down the road to another pub they owned to get a bottle. She didn’t have to do this so it was appreciated.

Sat outside for lunch with our dog. Good safety measures in place with lots of hand sanitising stations. Ordered the prawn salad and the cajun chicken wrap which both came with chips which were REALLY good! The salad was a salad for people who don't want a healthy salad, which is right up my street! It came with said chips, potato salad, coleslaw and a big pile of chips. Very filling and tasty, and the wrap was also great. Really friendly staff and great location.

Visited with my wife for a change from our hotel for a night. We both had the chicken curry, it was very good. Not too hot but just right for us, a plentiful plate full. After,we had a sweet. I had chocolate fudge cake with ice cream, my wife had rhubarb crumble and custard. It was lovely, although at nearly £7 each I wouldn't want to pay that too often !! Nice staff and a good experience. Thanks

5 stars is not enough for the restaurant here. Have visited 3 times in a week and has been great each time. Staff have been super helpful and very polite. Couldn’t of asked for better service and wish I could leave more than 5 stars!

Food was reasonable but service was poor and no adherence to most Covid regulations. No instructions before entry and most staff not wearing face masks when serving. Wouldn’t recommend this place.

Booked for 2 nights as a family. Room was dirty, cramped with lumpy old beds, cheap bedding and disgusting carpet. Stained bedding, filthy window sills/frames and rust running down the radiator. Wallpaper peeling and holes in the wall.The worst hotel I have ever set foot in. Food was average but way overpriced. Awful place. Younger members of staff were polite enough but management / senior staff could not care less. AVOID THIS HOTEL, there are plenty of other options in Portpatrick.

We managed to have a late lunch here during our short stay in the area. The food was served reasonably quickly and the staff were efficient and friendly. We had soup and Cajun chicken wrap, both of which were tasty and good portions. It was a reasonable cost for the meal and would be happy to go back. The hotel dining and bar were operating a one way system for ordering the food at the bar with poly-carbonate shields fitted and the food brought to your table. overall in the current conditions an OK place for lunch

Luckily the drive, weather and the village itself made up for the awful lunch experience.We were unsure whether to sit in one of the exterior tables without a team member so hovered about for ages to be told we could. My fiance ordered food at the bar. While waiting the two runners just kept coming out with plates baffled asking everyone and anyone if the plates were what they'd ordered - there weren't that many tables for food and none inside. The young male waiter also done a dash to trying and lift glasses and bottles that weren't finished.Our starter we asked to have with our mains as a sharing dish came and the waitress didn't know they were to come out together but came back out next minute with the rest. I had to ask almost three times before cutlery came, kicking 10mins after the food, my fiance got handed his can without offer of glass or ice. So we never bothered asking for salt or sauces. The couple next to us then complained as they'd sat longer than us and didn't get any of their food, and waited nearly 10mins for a response which resulted in the customer asking for a refund so they could leave. By time we finished our food 3 or 4 tables that were empty were overrun with crows as the tables weren't cleared and neither was ours. Hadn't seen a staff member in about 10mins.Very poorly organised for having 3 staff and a handful of tables dining on a small menu.

We hadn’t booked to stay here but it’s the sister hotel to The Waterfront and is where we got moved to. We had the Harbour View room in the attic which was cosy with a proper en-suite. Not suitable for tall people! Room was clean and food was lovely. We particularly liked sitting in the glass fronted extension to the dining area for our meals and watching the world go by!

Booked a table midweek on an overnight trip. Booked in ok and nice table overlooking the harbour. Food was pub grub and good value. Service was a little slow to begin with but it picked up. All in all a nice meal in nice surroundings

Went to this for a drink, most staff not wearing masks and/or shields, no evidence of sanitising outside tables, no encouragement of completing track trace info (a form is at the door but no reminder to complete it.) otheR guests came to the Bar while I was being served without masks or social distancing and when I moved away and told him why I got dogs abuse, he told me to drop death, made derivative comments about my body, age etc and the staff just ignored it! Unfortunately I had already paid. Guest and staff ignored the one way system so if you value you own health, don’t go there!!

We were booked in for 4 nights dinner as part of a package with its partner hotel.All social distancing measures were in place and adhered to by staff members.Members of staff friendly enough and food was OK on first night, but service was slow.2nd night food not the best but service was quicker.The Menu is limited and the remaining choices were not to liking and due to this fact we decided not to return for the following 2 nights, even though they had already been prepaid.I personally would not recommend at the present time but do understand that they are doing their best in the current covid climate.Things may hopefully improve in the future.

Arrived for 2 nights. Pub was mobbed. No social distancing. No masks. No table service inside or out. Very loud music meant peop!e had to shout. No soap I. Hotel room. Food bland and basic. Staff miserable. Gave feed back when we checked out a day early and not interested in this. No reply to email complaint.

Nice, relaxing couple of days spent here. Really nice room with a side view to the harbour. Food was excellent and staff very courteous and friendly, especially Shevonne, young girl who was happy to help and interested in how our days out went. Somewhat confused about last review, yes there was music but it was background music and at no time did we need to shout to be heard. Will be back.

I wouldn’t recommend visiting here. The food was bland and a lot of it had a very strange taste. They’re generous with the portions and it wasn’t expensive, but it also wasn’t good. The windows were so filthy that I thought the clouds were amongst us.

Stopped off for some lunch following a walk along the coast. The club sandwiches were great and there was a decent selection of beer to wash it down.

We visit dumfries and galloway at least once a year (usually more) and had yet to venture to Portpatrick.we are so glad we did.wednesday 4th March.gloriously sunny but still quite quiet as it's early in the season.A few people were dining at the outside tables but we opted to eat inside as it was dog friendly. We were served by a lovely,friendly lady,the bar was nicely decorated+ clean. There is also a wonderful glass conservatory type room on the front of the building with fantastic harbour views.A good choice on the menu.we had a chicken+bacon club sandwich with chips(bacon cooked exactly how I asked-many many thanks)and the scallops starter as a main. The food was lovely. We will definitely come here again and would recommend.

Blew in to this hotel as we were staying at the sister hotel down the road and their restaurant was closed!We didn't mind as it was just toh and me, so was a bit of an adventure. Food was good for the price but I would go elsewhere if I wanted great food with a nice atmosphere. Staff were very nice. Food was very affordable and wine was nice.We had nothing to complain about

Well - a fabulous wee nugget of an establishment.Room ready early, clean tidy, although a bit compact it done the job. Popped down to the bar to be efficiently served a pint of Menebrea lager for a very acceptable £4.25.Off we popped to a wedding & popped back later, so we didn’t see much of the establishment, until the following morning, well there was a breakfast to behold, Arise Sir Waterfront, absolutely fabulous !!The breakfast room is a conservatory with a seaview and a half - perfectly cooked breakfast excellently served.. You will struggle to beat that a one !!

Food was just ok, not cooked brilliantly and service rushed. After the manager’s response to another diner’s feedback I can see why!

Popped in for lunch, 1.15 on Friday - advised that our friends would be joining us about 1.30, so would delay ordering... we were told we'd best ring them as the kitchen shut at 2 and the Chef would just walk... Not a good start.2 of us ordered Fish and Chips - seriously over-battered Fish and undercooked chips. The other two had wraps which were "OK" and shared a portion of undercooked chips.Even if everything had been top quality, it is quite a pricey place, so mediocre over-priced food doesn't make a return trip likely, which is a shame as it has a great location.

This is a pub. They serve average bar food although they charge city restaurant / bar prices. Prices increased again this week. A single course bar meal with a drink is now just shy of £20 pp, this is 50% higher than the £13 price I paid for the same meal and drink this time last year. The food is of reasonable quality, but expect to pay city centre prices.

Staying at another hotel but came here in the afternoon for soup and roll and beer. Amazing soup. Came back in the evening to live music and sat at the bar. Two girls on playing guitar and singing. Very good, simple and enjoyable. Bar staff friendly, especially the man - i think was the owner/manager. Wish we would have booked in here as atmosphere far better. Would recommend.

Had a few drinks at the start of the evening in this Bar. There are no 'frills' in the Bar itself where dogs and humans are made very welcome. The Staff are friendly and quick to spot those wanting served. There is a lovely glass Terrace where you can have a meal with a view and also a coffee lounge. I believe this is a sister hotel of the Waterfront - so you're not seeing double if you see the same Staff here as you have been served by there. Worth a visit busy atmosphere.

Last year our family of four had mains and a coke for £50.30 in total. This year we had the same but it came to £69 - quite an increase in price in 12 months!

We went to Portpatrick just to eat out.We orderd starters and mains.We had mussels Burger and Kids had fish and chips.It was all homemade and you could taste that.

I recently spent 3 nights with a couple of friends in one of the apartments adjacent to the hotel. The apartment was very comfortable, warm and cosy. It was clean and well equipped, though it was ready for an oversight check as a few minor things needed fixing, like replacing light bulbs etc.

Not the best weekend away we have had. Front of house staff should remember that couple visits are just as important as coach tours. We went for a wedding and wish we had stayed else where. One member of staff told another wedding guest who wasn't happy about the room that if she wasn't happy could go elsewhere. Not good enough

Spent the last week of October in Portpatrick and having been there several times this is our go to pub, always great service, great food, and great atmosphere, can't wait for our next visit.

We popped in here earlier this week for a bite to eat at lunchtime. Staff very helpful as it was nearly 2pm and they served us without any problem. It was a lovely bowl of soup but the crusty roll was not cooked enough and generally this was not worth £5.75 pp. Very disappointing compared to other meals we had in the area.

Nice, friendly staff and large portions but very limited if you dont eat meat. If you are vegan then don't bother but my partner and son were happy with the fish dishes and said it was lovely

Great place for food and a drink the manager had no tables left on Saturday we turned up for some food but soon araiged us a table in the lounge and took good care of us makeing sure we got our food

Our 2 families of seven had dinner here and chose widely from the menu, and everything was very good. Even the fussy children enjoyed the 2 courses they had. We enjoyed our family time here in the comfortable surroundings. I personally found it hard to choose from the menu as there was a lot that appealed to me being a seafood lover. A Tapas styled selection of the seafood offered at this establishment would had suited me that night. Thumbs up!

We've just had a meal of the Harbour House Burger and Chicken Curry. Both were fantastic. Highly recommended. Great view also over the Harbour with setting Sun if you're lucky.

If you like very loud music while you drink your coffee and don’t really want to hear what your companions are saying then this is the place for you! Not a pleasant experience for morning coffee. The part for coffee only was full and we were directed to the bar area where two young girls were chatting across the bar. The music was turned down marginally when we entered. It’s a shame as there was a great sea view but I had to drink up quickly and get out.

I plumped for soup n a portion of chips to accompany a wrap filled with chicken, cajun style with plenty of peppers etc. The waitress, whom was tremendous, said that it was a wise choice. What wasnt though, was adding the chips And the soup, either would have made a substantial meal. Both, well this was just ridiculous. I struggled, manfully to finish n nearly got there. The piping hot soup was fresh, zingy and appreciated. The chips, not triple cooked but well tasty enough. The wrap was indeed spot on, really tasty AND huge. Nice n fresh too.

Had always wanted to visit here, so glad we did. Very quaint village, people really friendly. There’s a row of hotels with bars that were fairly lively on a Friday. We stayed at the harbour house hotel in room 8, this was up some windy stairs with squirky sloping roofs. Our room was good with views to die for, although if your tall like my partner you’ll have to watch you don’t whack your head on the low ceilings the toilet/shower is internal and Very tiny but it was ok for overnight stay. The bar/restaurant area was lovely, breakfast was adequate too, cold & hot choices, staff welcoming & friendly, will definitely return.

We just popped in here for tea and cakes which were Delicious. They also did meals including a lot of fish dishes but we didn't have time to sample these, next visit we will as the all looked very good.

Very helpful staff made you feel at home good menu with a variety of tastes. Price was reasonable and the surroundings relaxed with good views of the harbour

We popped in for coffees. It was pricey but decent, served with a tasty shortbread biscuit. Service was reasonable. Well located on the harbour front. They have indoor, outdoor and conservatory seating.

We were visiting Portpatrick whilst on holiday in the area, we called for morning coffee, the lounge area was pleasantly furnished with sofas and chairs, it was quite busy when we called with special coffees made to order. We ordered two soft drinks a piece of the homemade shortbread and a portion of coffee and walnut cake. The cake and shortbread was delicious and obviously homemade. We enjoyed our visit and felt it was good value for money we would return

Just spent 3 nights at The Harbour House in Portpatrick which I would describe as a very good hotel in terms of accomodation, food and very friendly staff

The food when we ate on a Saturday evening was not good value for money. The quality was reasonable as was the portion size but it was expensive for what it was. £15 for average fish and chips and £7.45 for a Camembert starter was pricy for what was in reality a busy pub. It was a very busy evening so the staff were under pressure to provide a good level of service. Would not go back.

We visit Portpatrick each year and we always used to visit The Harbour House restaurant for a meal. This year will sadly be our last as the pub and hotel are now under new management and the prices have risen considerably as noted by other reviewers. I used to order the chicken curry which you could either get with chips, rice or half chips and half rice, the latter of which I would go for. The curry was priced at £8.95 or for £1 more you could get two pieces of naan bread as well. To my disbelief, roll forward one year to this summer and the exact same meal is now priced at £14.95! Not only that, but now the curry is smaller and you can only order with rice instead of getting chips and rice. The new owners of this establishment are apparently also the owners of The Waterfront restaurant in the village as well. With there only being three pubs on the main street of Portpatrick facing the harbour, the new management are effectively holding tourists and locals to ransom with extortionate prices with most meals costing £15 or more and deserts are a ridiculous £7, prices which you would not even pay in London or Manchester City Centre! My advice would be to avoid all of these pubs like the plague until they stop ripping off customers. If visiting Portpatrick, give this pub a swerve and bring a picnic instead!

Was in here several times over a weekend stay in Portpatrick, primarily for drinks and once for a meal. Can't fault it. Excellent spot right on the front, had the chicken burger and thoroughly enjoyed it. A couple of Real Ales from a local brewer was the icing on the cake. Excellent stuff.

Good pub type food with nice views out to sea. Staff friendly. Portion size good. We stopped here for lunch and the salads and sandwiches were good and quickly served.

We tried the restaurant here for the first time since it changed ownership and were very disappointed. Two of our glasses were dirty and had to be returned. The orders for some of the other tables were mixed up. The wait staff appeared to be inexperienced and sat people at tables which hadn’t been cleaned and totally ignored other people. We have eaten at other restaurants run by Paul, the Waterfront and Torrs Warren, and both are usually very good. The Harbour House was expensive, grubby and badly run.

Stayed three nights with one adult and two kids. Both rooms had views of the charming Portpatrick harbour. Hotel well run, comfortable rooms with shower (Good water pressure) Delicious food with massive portions. Would definitely stay again...

Visited hotel to eat. A number of items on bar menu not available. Same story with a la care menu. Food quality was average and overpriced.

Had a brilliant meal here. Plenty of choice on menu. We sat outside to eat facing the sea. It was all very tasty and nicely presented. We will definitely return. The staff were very helpful and friendly.

During a four day stay in Portpatrick we visited three of the eateries - this was our favourite so we went back. The Harbour House is a friendly pub (bar meals are available) but the restaurant out front is the winner, and not just because of the view. There is a good selection on the a la carte menu and the new owners offer an attentive and friendly full service. Although we were lucky to get a table by chance during the week, we booked in advance for our second visit when it was busy.

While visiting Portpatrick went in here for dinner first choice was either Al-carte or bar meal and choose the latter. Ordered Scampi, chips / mushey peas, got salad instead of mushey peas but enjoyed it. service was quite good and would go back.

We had seen conflicting opinions regarding the new management, but decided to give them the benefit of the doubt, so my cousin and his wife and me and my wife had dinner and were pleasantly surprised as the meal was very good and the staff pleasant and attentive, in fact you could not have asked for more and would have gave five stars were it not for the interaction of who seemed to be one of the proprietors outside. I went to collect my car and drive round to the front of the hotel to collect my severely disabled wife, there was another car up on the pavement so I parked behind it, the driver jumped out ran round to me and said "you can't park here" in an offensive manner, I pointed to my wife who was being helped down the stairs , he said " no need to get upset" and just when everyone thought he was going to help her he shot past them into the hotel, this spoiled our evening as it was embarassing for us, so we won't be parking in front of his hotel again as we won't be back .I would not advise any disabled person to frequent this hotel as you are not welcome.

Had dinner this week - there needs to be some improvements in the food before I would return. Muscles smelt as if they hadn’t been properly prepared (a number were unopened). I had fish and chips which were nothing special. They really can’t afford to skimp on food standards.

First time here at The Harbour House, we had a Lovely room with amazing sea view, staff were friendly and very helpful, especially with the problem with the TV in the room! We only stopped the one night, the evening meal was very good, just wish the breakfast was as good, disappointed with the sausage tasteless and the bacon tough! I prefer my sugar in a sugar bowl not satchets! but enjoyed our stay here and close to the sea in the beautiful harbour village in Portpatrick.

Stayed in the village for the weekend and decided to pop in here for dinner. Friendly staff. Lovely views across the harbour. We both ordered chicken burgers which were nice, albeit not expecting the coleslaw to be in the burger rather than alongside. Ordered a cheeseboard which was nice although it did miss some chutney or a wee pot of honey. Worth a visit

Visited on Friday for dinner whilst on a short break. Staff were friendly and helpful. Food was very good - steak was very expensive but rest was ok priced. Wine was very reasonable which helped. Lovely views from the conservatory out to sea.

This is a great little hotel/bar/restaurant in a delightful small harbour village unfortunateley it is now under new management to the detriment of the village.

New menu for one of my favourite places. However light bites are £8.45. £8.45 for a roll & egg mayonnaise???? I feel they are targeting tourists but forgetting about locals. Very disappointed as I don’t even pay these prices for lunch in Glasgow!

Absolutely hopeless. Undercooked frozen chips. Microwaved peas. There are a few really good places to eat in Port Patrick. This isn’t one of them. Take your time and have a look at what’s available. It’s pretty good apart from this place.

We recently spent a lovely week in Portpatrick, in fact stayed just across the road from the Harbour House. The food was well priced and a good selection to suit everbody. All the staff were very friendly and helpful.

Couldn't get a table at Connor's so wandered in here. Very busy but managed to get a table in the bar. Very much a bar that does food sort of place but super friendly and food was excellent. Thoroughly enjoyed our meal here. Great steak cooked rare.

Nice cosy little venue, unfortunatelyon two ocassios we have visited there has been a limited menu of fried food only.

Maybe just coming out of the winter season when it was less busy could explain why the milk in the room showed an expiry date of 12th January ,......a bit before our visit at end of March.

We ordered food here after reading several good reviews. We weren’t disappointed! The food was excellent and pretty outstanding for ‘pub’ food. Although the place itself wasn’t particularly the best bar I have been in, the food was very good. I would certainly recommend eating there

Delightful evening meal overlooking the lovely harbor. Excellent choice on the menu . I chose scampi but the steak and scallops were also delicious.

The Harbour House serves freshly cooked food and not frozen food which we were offered at another establishment nearby. The service we received was second to none.

Party of 12, prebooked. Seriously cannot daily this place! Food was excellent, service staff were exceptional and the final bill was even better! Don’t go past this place! warm and friendly staff make for a good night!

If you're in the Port this weekend, try the fabulous food on this menu. I had the cullen skink and the mince and tatties and both were fantastic!

Our family of four had mains and a coke for £50.30 in total. Good sized portions of fish & chips, with real mushy peas - not something out of a tin. The risotto was well produced. Good food at a good price eaten whist seated with a vie over the harbour.

Visited yesterday just to get a drink, been here before and it's great you can take the dogs in. Whilst sat there We had a look at the menu and then saw on the board they were serving Sunday lunch. No price advertised however we ordered 2 Sunday lunches. Oh my Lord when they arrived my partner and I laughed at the amount of food on the plates. I actually waited a little as I thought they would bring a separate dish of potatoes,but they never did.

Easily found on the harbour front with plenty of free parking. Very dark and dingy unless you can sit in the conservatory without a dog. Seats peeling and the whole bar needs a refurb. Service quick but disinterested. Food passable and hot though I've had better chips. Scampi OK and scallops cooked perfectly. Would probably try somewhere else next time and leave the dog in the car if we can't sit outside.

Could do with some paintwork on the outside, but very nice and welcoming inside. a magic Scottish feel around it and a new conservatory. All staff so helpful.

Over the weekend we were staying at Portpatrick we were made really welcome allowed to bring our dog.

We went into the Harbour house for breakfast, having enjoyed their hospitality the previous evening. We were walk ins, and were warmly greeted and shown to a table in the bar. Ok selection of breakfast cereals and juices. Cooked breakfast with loads of toast and refills of tea and coffee. The breakfast included a great piece of black pudding and a slice of peppery spicy haggis. Lovely! All of this for £8.95. Pretty good value too.

After a week of gales and drizzle, Sunday arrived with patches of brilliant sunshine and squally showers. So, lunch here provided a fine break from the masses of tourists on the front. Lunch was chicken curry, rice and nan. Not the most authentic, but rather tasty and deceptively filling. The sunny annex was an ideal location. Only downer was a lack of decent cider on draught (Magners, alas.)

Nice welcome from the two young ladies (one behind the bar and one serving meals). The food was relatively cheap and consequently the quality matched the price. The big let down was that the placemats were sticking to the table which did not leave a good impression.

Just a refreshment stop. Nice friendly stop. Dog friendly. Lovely views over the harbour. The stairs down to the toilet are old and interesting so worth a look.

Came to Portpatrick with my mum and dad as we realised we hadn't been in at least 10yrs! So we spent the day there! but had lunch here.

Good food hot and decent price and portions service was good will go again next time when I visit the port

We have eaten here as a family many times and it never fails to impress. My husband and eldest son has the fish and chips which was plentiful. My youngest had the burger and chips which beat him and I had the curry which was absolutely delicious. Highly recommend it.

Helt okej ställe att äta eller dricka på. Avslappnad stämning. Inga problem att ta med barn eller hundar. Fint läge intill havet.
