Just tried a new Milton Chinese to see if they were better. They were very good but happy times , for me, are still the best. 👍

Always get a Chinese from happy times when visiting home! I can never fault the food, always hot and delicious.

Worst Chinese I’ve ever had! lemon chicken was drowned in lemon juice while the chicken was chewy. Sweet and sour chicken wasn’t chicken it was just fried batter, you couldn’t even cut the chicken it was that bad. Rice was gross. Food was cold. honestly never again. I never usually write reviews as they require effort. But serving food like that is just out of order. 100% do not recommend

Me and my friend got food poisoning and we're reporting this restaurant.

I never write bad reviews but Crispy duck very dry. I ordered a half duck most of it was hard crispy parts hardly any duck meat, and it was all very dry. I couldn't eat it. Pancakes wet in packet The prawn crackers not nice taste The sweet and sour sauce in a separate pot was thick like jelly and tasted horrible.

First of all, the service was fine, politer server and food was fast enough but unfortunately that was the best thing about it. One of the worst Chinese meals I've ever had. The salt and chilli squid was like pub calamari (never seen it like that from a chinese) but turned up looking like onion rings. Was seasoned well tbh but I dont want frozen awful rubbery calaramari rings with some spring onion and chilli on. Chow mein was the blandest I've ever tasted And the chicken szechuan style was also bland and chicken tasted like the frozen already cooked chicken you would get from Iceland. It's no different in price than any other Chinese i have ordered in any other part of the country so i don't understand why the quality was so much poorer. All of it was bland with very poor quality of meat. Would not recommend.

We were on holiday, so didn't know anything about this place. We both had a Thai curry, which was very tasty. The takeaway seemed clean and the service was good. We thought it was good value for money.

Stopped here just before they closed and was met by a very polite server. Food was delicious and piping hot, will definitely go here again.

Staff seem nice and the food arrived a bit late but it was Saturday night. The food was hot but unfortunately that's where the good feedback ends. It was like going back to the 70's. The food was very average and a little bland. Obviously we won't be ordering again. Shame as they are close by.

On a family trip to see the cricket, decided not to cook and. Visit the local takeaway instead. I really wish I had cooked, the meals were awful. Tasteless bland, the food looked as bad as it tasted. Do yourself a favour and avoid this terrible takeaway

Had the best chinese meal I have had in a long time! Sweet and sour was not too sweet as it sometimes is at other places and the tofu coconut curry with peanuts was devine!!! 20 minutes from ordering on the phone to collection. Could pay with card and they included a large bag of prawn crackers for free... Grandma and granddaughter ate very happy. For £25, the two of us were stuffed and have enough for one person's lunch tomorrow too. Very covid safe still (July 2022) and very friendly.

Chips burnt beyond belief. Ordered bbq spare ribs, got sweet and sour. Chicken balls burnt and tiny. Not very good quality really.

Found 2 really long grey hairs in 2 dishes. Chips were dry and satay beef was absolutely tasteless. Binned it all and got something else from another takeaway

Ordered the meal for 2, easy to order on the phone, waited just over an hour for delivery as a busy Friday evening. Only £2 extra to deliver to Milford, usually free under 3 miles. Delivery guy really nice. Delicious, hot food, by far the best Chinese food I've tried for a very long time too. Not over salty or fatty, just very tasty. Thank you Happy Times, we'll be back soon!

We had a great Chinese, good portions, arrived hot, tasty. I would recommend this place. Call early as they get very busy, Leads times after 6pm, 45 min to hour wait.

Why was this our worst ever takeaway I hear you ask. Let me tell you: 1. The mixed starter consisted of 2 completely dried up shrivelled butterfly king prawns, (their description not mine), 2 dried up near inedible chicken satay skewers, 2 shrivelled up bones that were supposed to be spare ribs, 4 mini vegetable spring rolls, (they forgot the veg), 2 deep fried wantons that were just filo pastry and crispy grass cuttings, (supposed to have been seaweed). 2. The duck chow mein was more fatty skin than meat, the noodles seemed to be reheated, and the whole dish was very dry and tasteless. 3. The chicken in the chicken, ginger and spring onion dish was very slimy and inedible, the spring onions were very stringy but the ginger was good. 4. The egg fried rice was dry, (reheated?), bland and tasteless. 5. Who would ever imagine you can mess up prawn crackers? They were disgusting, saturated in fat/oil. 6. For the privilege of throwing this meal down the bin we paid £26.30! Never again! 7. DONT WASTE YOUR MONEY HERE.

Exceptional quality food every time I order fast delivery great staff and quality and portions are outstanding. Would not order from anywhere else and highly recommend tourists to the area and locals. Support local businesses as I highly recommend and they will always have the thumbs up frozen me

On holiday and tried this Chinese takeaway we were very impressed with our meal good value and very pleasant response when we ordered by phone We collected cash only but delivery is an option Closed Tuesday Worth a try

When we got there there was a notice on the door saying phone orders only, however as soon as we got through on the phone the lady was able to come to the door! Service was good, food ordered and recieved within 20 mins. The food was fabulous and they deliver to the nearby campsite!

All ways the lady who answers the phones is excellent and very friendly she even remembered my last order with had missing curry and chips, the food here to me is as good as any restaurant and always fresh and tasty, the delivery is also exceptionally polite and we always like to give him a good tip as the service is great. SO if you cannot be bothered to cook I would highly recommend a visit here to Happy Times I mean what more you ask for from , exceptional restaurant quality food, great friendly staff and always polite and grateful for your business

Amazing friendly staff and fast delivery always within the time frame given, food quality is 5****** and we regularly have their half a duck which is outstanding. Would highly recommend oh and the Best Buy they take card over the phone but don’t forget to leave a cash tip for the excellent delivery team

We have been eating Happy Times food since August this year. Food quality is always great. Recommend the Penang Curry. Delivery is punctual and staff are very helpful!

Good fish..chip's could have been better..girls liked chicken nuggets..but they had 4gotten our order when goimg to collect..which meant waiting outside for the order to be done.

I went to this take away whilst on my holiday staying in the nearby shorefield caravan park. I usually go to imperial China in Lyndhurst but as I had the dog and been out all day just wanted to chill out. I can honestly say this take away Chinese was one of the best ive had. Food was quick, no need to worry about covid as the staff make sure they are covid free and really effient with the rules. Our server was polite and helpful and friendly. I cone to new forest each year and can honestly say you don't need to go to imperial China this take away was just as good if not but better highly recommend.

What has happened to Happy Times?. I have gratefully used this takeaway for many years, but over the last year it has become awful!. Nothing more to say except what a shame a great takeaway has gone so bad!.

DEFINITELY the last time ordering food from here...... everytime without fail they have either delivered the wrong food or had items missing from our order!! The delivery slots given are nornally between 30 to 45 minutes, scrap that..... more like an hour and a quarter if you're lucky!! This time we had to phone them up after our food was over 30 minutes late and the order was yet again wrong!! After speaking to them on the phone, they weren't that bothered in making sure our order was replaced or corrected but instead they insisted that they came and collected it to give our money back knowing they made a complete mess up!!..... thanks for ruining our friday night takeaway!!

I've had a few takeaways over the last year as we go camping at hurstview round the corner, I've always been impressed but this time it was terrible. We ordered for about 8 people and they all rated it as terrible, would be better to buy a Chinese in a box from a supermarket (a cheap one at that!), when I can make fried rice better than a Chinese takeaway you know it's poor. Most of it ended up in the bin. Don't waste your money!

On a recent trip to the New Forest we tried the place without knowing anything about it, well it was a good choice! Friendly service, fairly short waiting time and truly excellent, delicious food. Will definitely use again and would highly recommend.

We were in the Lymington area on holiday and fancied a Chinese meal ...I was surprised that there didn’t appear to be any Chinese restaurants so we drove a little way to Pennington and found Happy Times ! I’m so glad we did ...lovely welcoming lady on reception...we ordered our food...took around 10 minutes! It was one of the tastiest Chinese meals I’ve ever eaten...!! Will definitely return when I’m in the area!

We had an excellent take away from Happy Times last night. Having recently started a gluten free diet I was unsure what I could order. The lady serving was most helpful, patient & kind. Would highly recommend.

1st time used as we live in East Boldre and no one delivers then Found happy times and they deliver friendly staff great food good price 13 miles away from us delivery charge was £4 which I thought was good food was very good and delivery was quick will deffo use again

After my local Chinese closed we tried to fing another one so we phoned happy time friendly staff asked if they did delivery and bingo they do placed our order they said 30-40 minutes for delivery 25 mins later or order arrived we enjoyed our meal very much great food great staff and great delivery it is 13 mile there and back so a delivery charge of £4 which we didn't mind saved us going out will deffo order again

We ordered a takeaway from here whilst camping about 10 minutes away. The food was delicious and had so much taste to it. They even delivered to the campsite for us. When we come back next year we will definitely be ordering from you again!

We are not blessed with many good Chinese Restaurants/Takeaways in the Lymington area so I was pleasantly surprised when we tried Happy Times in Pennington near Lymington. Don't be put of by the rather dated shop front.This was the reason we had not tried it before. The food and good service make up for it.We have had a number of takeaways and also deliveries to our home in Milford. All our meals have been first rate. I can especially recommend th Kung Portsmouth King Prawns with the Singapore special rice and the Lemon Chicken. We have only ever had Good meals from. Happy Times.Please give it a try.

As usual the food was at a very high standard, hot and great flavours. We went early and were not disappointed.

Ideal when you're really hungry. Whilst food quality isn't the best, the portion sizes are huge and food is always delivered piping hot within 30-45 minutes. It's simple food, not overly messed about with (eg. sweet and sour chicken is literally just chicken in breadcrumbs or batter and a seperate pot of smooth sauce, not filled with all manner of vegetables to bulk it out) which suits my preferences. Good value for money.

Chap frente esperó un tiempo similar y luego regresar 20 minutos más tarde, ya que habían dado comida equivocada. Appologies dieron, pero cuando mi comida para llevar local hace un error o esperar que al menos dar algunos pop gratis o platos.
