Happy Garden in Barnsley

Placed our order at 18.15 phoned an hour later asking where it was to be told it was on its way 15 mins later it was delivered flat cold and chips like rubber.we have usually had good food from here in the past but now they have lost a customer and no apology what's so ever

Paid for takeaway online never received it refused a refund wouldn't recommend ordering from this place

Ordered here as Chinese in my village not the best. Wish I had stuck to them now. The beef and mushroom wasn't too bad but the roast pork chow mien was disgusting. It was tiny burnt pieces of pork with really dry noodles. They were 6the worst I have ever tasted. Won't be ordering from here again

Best chinese in Barnsley no doubt always order from here and never a single complaint

OK not massive portions but OK. They need to update price list and give the customer area a goo clean a tin of paint would make a big difference

Food flat cold when arrived . Duck full of fat . Not good this time very apologetic though when called back re sent chips and noodles spent 35 pound

Put an order in, taken my money out the bank then cancelled my order!!!!!! If it not in within next 24hrs then I’ll be going through the right chains to see them closed

OK not the best Chinese about but not bad

I don't usually have a problem with this restaurant their food is fantastic however, upon ordering tonight and waiting 3 hours, I find out they are closed, yet advertised as open on just eat, both the restaurant and just eat need to ensure that when closed it states so, I've paid £30 for an order I will not get and now have to wait for my refund. This is absolutely inconvenient and frustrating, as such I can't trust when to order from this place again and as such I won't be!

Mixed starters are 1/10 - the rib was actually in 4 tiny bits of basically bone with hardly any meat on and what was on it was drier that the Sahara desert. Seaweed tasted funny like it had fake sugars, prawn toast overcooked and bad quality. Same for the spring roll and wonton. Vermicelli and chow mains were edible but not good. Bad quality food cooked without care - better chinese takeaways elsewhere.

They cancelled my order on Just Eat 2 hours after placing it. Was birthday meal and too late to order elsewhere. Shouldn't advertise as open and accept peoples orders.

If I could give them 0 stars I would. Poor service our order was an hour late and everytime I rang they said another 15 more minutes. By time the order came an hour late, we asked the driver to wait while we checked if it was hot she was too quick to run up the path and yes the food was stone cold, chips were extremely dry. I will never order from these again and advise that people stay away from it too.

Doesn’t even deserve 1 star! Order came to a total of £23.10 and it’s was horrible wouldn’t feed to my dog! The food was cold, over cooked and the chips were like cardboard not to mention the chicken was undercooked and pink inside! Rang the restaurant and explained and I told them I wanted a refund, the delivery driver came out and said we can only give ex amount back. Absolutely vile 🤢

Doesn't even deserve a 1 when ordering a salt and peper box you would expect to at least taste the peper has well has the salt .But no just tasted like it was baked in salt the chicken was to hard it hurt my teeth there was no flavour no garlic no onions just salt the only thing what tasted like it should was the bottle of coke and the spring rolls the chicken was more less crispy £23 down drain

Just ordered a meal from this takeaway first one that came was wrong order told them second meal that came was same as first the third meal that came was nearly right but tasted awful given up will never use again asked for a refund none forthcoming do not use

Order was cancelled phoned them up and the lady I spoke to said they only accept so many order from just eat but dont turn the machine off so orders are still going in but being cancelled would have given no stars if I could

Ordered last night. Sweet and sour barely average but edible, plain over cooked noodles you could use as bricks and build a house with, soggy vegetarian spring rolls and what was supposed to be beef satay but the sauce had been watered down so much it looked like dirty dish water with the odd chunk of questionable peanuts. Cost the grand sum of £17.50 for two mains, side of noodles and spring rolls. Extortionate! Apparently under new management - maybe they should bring back the old ones. Will never order from here again.

Not happy at all, ordered a total of £18.90 and the order was cancelled. As they don't take orders on just eat anymore. Rang restaurant and she explained that they don't take orders any more but it still takes your money and takes 2 days for a refund. They need to close the just eat down and this is going to happen to lots of people as it doesn't state before you place your order. Member of staff was lovley and helpful but still out of order.

The prawns didn't taste fresh & I woke up early hours with horrendous stomach pain after eating here

( long standing customer until today)After waiting 1 hour and 15 minutes for our order i was called by the delivery driver. He couldn't find our house. I waited another 10 minutes and then rung the takeaway. I was told the driver was broken down and walking on foot but was lost.By the time the food arrived it was 1 hour 40 minutes and freezing. We tried telling the driver but he quickly went away with another driver.After several arguments with the man in the takeaway I was offered for the driver to bring my money back and I had to hand over the food. Or I could have another meal in about 30 minutes. So that would have been over 2 hours! This would have been after 11pm. I didn't order at 9pm to eat at that time.That was the best they could do for a long term customer if not I was told i had to go elsewhere. The last few meals from here have been watery and no flavour and I've told the woman who answers the telephone but nithing changed. I've had meals turn up with bits missing and still treated like this. The chicken was dry and the whole dinner was a mess on this occasion. So in answer to the man in the takeaway. Yes i will be going elsewhere.

meal was ok...noodles in the chow mien were very thin and small, more like egg noodles....not a great deal of meat either and the chicken fried rice dish seemed a little bland but luckily the curry sauce saved it...chicken wings were ok but dry...delivery time great, earlier than expected but only average rating for the food we tried tonight...

Had takeaway from here few times and food always good but the latest was very poor. Delivery was in time set out with a polite guy delivering. Food was hot but poor quality and not properly cooked. Pork and chicken balls had very little meat in them and the coating was stodgy and nearly raw. Beef in Black bean had very little beef but plenty of peppers etc. We will be looking somewhere else next time. I order direct as heard nothing good about Just Eat plus its easier.

Ordered food at 7.30 should of arrived at 8.20 it finally landed at 9.30 stone cold so it went stright in the bin never again will I order again

Always request no vegetables in our curries and the restaurant always take notice. Good service compared to other neighbouring chinese restaurants

We placed our order just before 6:30pm - it got to us around 8:30pm and hadn’t heard a thing either from the driver or the restaurant. I appreciate there has been snow today, but to hear nothing is ridiculous! I then called the takeaway to enquire about my orders whereabouts to be told it was still there, so I told them I would collect it. Upon getting to the takeaway I was told it was out with a driver - pointless journey made in the snow. We received our order after 8:30pm to find it was cold, the chips stale and the rest of it tasteless. Not a good service and nor was it good quality food!

Was expecting spring rolls but instead got full fat Coke as a freebie for spending over £35. Was charged £3 delivery which is an absolute joke! When the food arrived, was warm not hot! The food was poor quality and tasteless. The Chicken Chowmein and very thin noodles which I could have cooked in a microwave. Majority of the food is in the bin. Even the dogs turned their noses up! Will not be ordering from them again

Trust me, I don't mind it coming early. It's tasty food. But they always add time on and I feel like they are covering their backs or, think it makes them look better when it then comes early.

Lovely tasting food. Not greasy or salty like some Chinese takeaways. It was also very fresh. The Singapore chow mein was the best 've ever tasted. Yummy!

Very tasty food , well delivered , will definitely order again , The only minus of food was that I've ordered broccoli and there were more onions than broccoli in the dish but next time I'll order it without the onions ;) x

I asked in the comments box for extra sauce in my chow mein but it was dry. There wad no sauce in it at all. The salt and pepper chips were absolutely burnt and crunchy. There was not much potato in the chips because they were that burnt. The roast chicken in gravy was absolutely discusting because the chicken was so burnt it was like boot leather. Very very dissapointed.

Delivery people was rude, we waved them to the right the door they ignored us. They moaned when we walked round and shouted to the right house. Delivery note says to use side door. (THE FRONT DOOR IS NOT MY DOOR)

Food has no taste and was way over priced, i will never order again. For the price its disgusting. I would not recommend to anyone. The gravy was brown water and the meat was grey. The chips was hard.

I am not very happy as they didn't turn up and they have waste my money as I paid it by PayPal but never turn so now it's first times thy did it so I would like to have my money back and I would never order from there every again

Worst ever..!! Food unratable an when rang to query ( in an acceptable manner ) was met by a hostile response even though the food was ready to return (some unopened) . No refund or compromise was offered.. Totally disgusting

Best Chinese takeaway in Barnsley

I think our order got a bit mixed up, chicken chow neon instead of boiled rice, sweet and sour instead of Mongolian sauce, but what we got was delicious!

We have order a few times and love that the food has nice flavours, but today's wasn't nice at all compared to the other times. The salt and pepper chips, just tasted of salt and were like old ones that had been re-heated. There was no spice of flavour to the Singapore vermicelli and it was cold x

The food was going down well till we got to the beef noodles the amount of salt in them was lethal like I'm sure I would have died if I ate it all

I won't order from here again. The chips were dry and had no salt n pepper flavour. The chicken was pink in middle. Always ordered from here but very disappointed tonight.

I ordered a variety of different things and have always been happy when ordered before however I was absolutely disgusted with the 'vegetable' spring rolls. They are supposed to be suitable for vegetarians however they had meat chunks in them! Won't be ordering from here again.

Food was cold, meat in udon noodles was really fatty.

Order was delayed by 30 minutes, ignored the job note to use back door, and order was wrong. When I called up the shop, they were adamant it was right, and wouldn't take my order number. When they finally admitted a mistake they sent a replacement another 20 minutes later. To be fair this was the first time I have had any trouble in about 10 orders but it was so poor I won't be ordering again, you can try and argue with someone else!

Took 1 1/2 hrs to deliver and when I called to ask how much longer my order would be I got shouted at by the staff.

Slow - took 1 hour 20 to arrive which is a bit long really. Curry was a bit bland but the rest was really nice.

I am allergic to chilli and luckily I saw the chilli in the chips b4 I touched them.... this is the reason for 1 star regarding the food and service. Last time I order from here as this could have been so much worse!

Wasn't the best. Salt and pepper chips was very over powering. And beef was really chewy All food seemed a little rushed very messy food all over in bag and they missed the free pop off disappoint really as we never have a bad meal from these guy but a first for everything

It's not good when you are offered a free item for spending over a certain limit and then they don't give you it :( Don't expect the free item!

Food was alright, nothing special, but I ordered some Rice that didn't come when it was delivered, so I phoned them up, and was told I "can have it for free next time"... well I've already paid for it so it's not exactly free is it? Just a but annoying, most places when they've made a mistake will bend over backwards for you.
