Very good Ethiopian food, very professional and helpful waiters and very very well priced. We ordered a vegetarian dish to share, and knowing the number of people they already calculated the quantities.

This was my second time I had take away dry tibis and fetfet, delicious food excellent customer service. Very polite owner. I drove all the way from Tilbury about 28 miles to there and 28 miles back to tilbury where I live to order and take a take away, twice I drove to this restaurant. Absolutely deserved the hussle 😃. And also has English menu because I can’t read my language due to not been born there, made it easier for me to read. I won’t forget the place because I also meet my friend who I haven’t seen or heard of him for 14 years, yesterday when I visited the place we meet there absolutely amazing. Definitely visiting again.

The food is not bad, the vegetables dishes are great. Unfortunately, customers care is unbelievable low qualities in all sense, no smile , no clear informations about the food, you have to ask for napkins, you have to call the waitress , and to have her attention is frustratingly impossible, it seems, just , they run there for the money. The atmosphere, primitive and messy, injera , the tipical Ethiopian bread , was left in the floor near to the till, for all the time we been there. Then , when we want to pay 77 pounds, no card, they want cash, we have to go out to collect the money. The outside close to the restaurant, was sort of neighbours storage place.

What a great place. Got off the train really hungry after a hard day's work and just walked in somewhere I've passed by numerous times. Got vegetarian option, enormous injiro cladded tray with 6-7 delicacies, two types of lentils and other beautifully spiced vegetables. No need for cuttlery.

Unbeatable menu and top-class service

This has the 'classic' feel of most London Ethiopian restaurants (simple decoration and setup, all about the food!), the staff are lovely and the food is second to none. Their shurot 1st class, lega tibs divine and, of course, kitfo nicely spiced with light kebee. Their tea spices are well blended too for kemen shai. I will definitely go back for more. This time take out, and will try the restaurant properly in the future. Highly recommend.

This place gives a great, authentic Ethiopian cuisine experience; it's a buzzing, crowded local neighborhood restaurant. The food is super tasty, rich and fresh, with an excellent value for money that is hard to beat!

Great vegetarian food at reasonable prices. We took the variety of vegetarian dishes which had 4 different dishes on a huge injeera which was delicious.

My favourite Ethiopian restaurant in London. The food is fresh and tasty, the place is always busy with Ethiopian diners (which is a good sign), the stuff are friendly and it is a great value for money. Remember: you are expected to eat with your hands.

Das Essen war zwar gut aber die weibliche Bedienung war sehr unfreundlich. Auf Getränke war lange zu warten das Essen war jedoch schnell am Tisch.

One of the best prices and the best Ethiopian food I’ve ever had. Ethiopian beer’s pretty refreshing! Feeling-good ambiance and one of the friendliest services someone can have. For those who like space, it’s a bit tiny and may be lightly crowded depending on the day of the week; nevertheless have been there literally over a dozen times and definitely recommend it 😉

We have been told it's a takeaway only and it was 8.30pm!

A great find for authentic Ethiopian fare. I had Dulet. Finely chopped lamb tripe liver and red meat mixed with Ethiopian butter. Spicy.

Mi compañero ordenó los tibes de cordero y lo disfrutó, pero deseó haber optado por las opciones vegetarianas, ya que se destacaban seriamente. Me encantó el ambiente, nos llevó de regreso a las tranquilas cafeterías de Addis. Si no sabe qué elegir, el camarero es muy útil con sus consejos, y es muy razonable a las 10 cada uno para tres comensales, incluidos los refrescos.

Went there for a vegetarian meal and was not disappointed. A good selection of dishes and all super scrumptious! Totally recommended for veggie loving folks. And very affordable too.

Probablemente he estado en Hamer 10 veces y nunca me ha decepcionado. El shiro es como una lenteja, el sabor a mantequilla del cielo. El yedoro wat es rico y complejo. No puedes vencer a su kitfo. El café es fabuloso. El servicio es muy cálido y amable y relajado. Es barato. Tiene la cerveza de la calle George. Simplemente, literalmente, no se puede superar este lugar. Tus manos olerán como injera durante días: considéralo una bendición.

La orden llegó muy tarde y, para nuestra frustración, obtuvieron una de nuestras órdenes incorrecta. El gerente estaba cerca de nuestra mesa y le explicamos que la comida no era lo que pedimos. En lugar de tomar el plato y obtener el orden correcto para nuestra sorpresa, regresó con un plato y una cuchara para sacar la comida del plato.El camarero no tiene uniforme y no se ha afeitado durante semanas (creo) a pesar de que es humilde y servicial.El gerente era poco atento y la comida le falta sabor y calidad por el precio que nos han cobrado.

Conocí a mi amigo para cenar una noche. Ambos tuvimos panqueques vegetarianos: por mi vida que no recuerdo lo que eran, pero en cualquier caso eran realmente precioso. El pancake tenía una textura extraña, pero estoy abierto a cualquier cosa (dentro de lo razonable) y lo pasamos muy bien, también muy barato!Una nota sobre el vino, aunque ethopian: no lo intentes.

Pero nos encontramos en Hamer por accidente cuando estábamos intentando encontrar música irlandesa y fuimos a un pub y la sesión no estaba sucediendo. Estaba lloviendo y nos sentíamos y pasado Hamer. Leímos el menú y fuimos y tuvimos la mejor comida etíope que hemos tenido. Realmente recuperadas una noche decepcionante. Conseguimos la placa combinación carne para compartir y nos encantó cada bocado. De hecho no pude terminar.

Nos encantó este lugar. No sabía nada de comida etíope pero estaba buenísimo y era bien presentado. No hay concesión a modas pasajeras occidental de cubiertos. Y el lugar estaba lleno de gente con evidente herencia de Etiopía, que es un signo de autenticidad en mi libro. El personal era muy acogedor.

My overall experience in the restaurant was horrible. The food didn't have any taste and the ingredients had a very poor quality.About the vibe in the restaurant. The staff was just OK and the music was incredibly loud.The place was dirty and everything was messed up.

I recommend this restaurant if you want to eat the real thing. It transported me back to the Ethiopian highlands and the machiato served in a glass was exactly how it was when I was in the country 20 years back. I usually have the yetsom (vegetarian) but all are good. Go here!

Lived in the neighbourhood for years, finally a dinner! Lumps of raw meat in delicious hot spices, friendly staff, really good beer and wine from Ethiopia. And not even a suggestion of a knife and fork. Highly recommended - not for the timid gourmands...
