The staff said it was perfect fine,but it looks like rusty metal to me .Please judge for yourself if this is safe or not

Always wanted to try as we have the same name 😁 Sweet, pink and everything is considered from the paper doilies to the hand written menu. Nice sandwiches, flavourful fresh fruit and huge slabs of cake we could take home in ready to go paper boxes and bags. Staff are lovely too and gave mum an extra cute cupcake in a nice box on leaving. Would recommend, but do pre-book as it's small.

I had a sausage and onion sandwich covered in green leaves. The tea was so weak, it was unbelievable. When I went to pay the bill with cash, the waiter looked up and said to me did I want the change? I don’t mind leaving a tip for good service, but asking for a tip. I think this took it to the limit and beyond I was looking at some of the food that other people had ordered, and it was overcooked

Wow- I’m so glad we were recommended to go here- we were a group of three and all had breakfasts- everything was top quality and served very quickly. The staff were friendly and nothing was too much trouble- I wouldn’t hesitate to recommend this place to anyone and can’t wait to go back again soon xx

The best breakfast I have had in a very long time. All the ingredients were of a high quality and absolutely delicious. The service was excellent; friendly and prompt. Small pots of fresh fruit and chocolates with your bill are just a couple of examples of the extra steps this tearoom takes to ensure their customers have an enjoyable experience.

Went for afternoon tea for daughters birthday. Very reasonably priced at £18.50 each. Good amount of sandwiches and cake. Had to bring some home as we couldn't eat it all at once !

As soon as we walked into this little café, it had a welcoming cosy feel to it. It was busy and full of chatter. The menus are extensive and we ordered fruit with yoghurt for my breakfast and my partner had a full English. We could not believe the presentation and Detail that the Cuff went to. As an example, I had some pretty spring flowers added to my yoghurt and a small honey spoon for the jar of honey. After my partners breakfast, he ordered some toaster marmalade, and it came on a two tier platter with strawberries, raspberries, plenty of marmalade and butter. The service was fantastic, and a waiter was very friendly and attentive. The quality of the food was unmistakably good quality and sets the boundaries for many more breakfasts to come! Faultless!

Always a Treat with Perfectly cooked & presented food, top quality & Service, in a delightfully cosy setting. Looking forward to the next visit. Sooner rather than later.

The food is very amazing. Very delicious and the portions are very good. But the people are screaming. I cannot understand why people talk so loud. Why people don't respect who is sitting next to the table? That is annoying and I can't feel relaxed.

We came in to eat and were seated at the table before another server told us that we can't sit because someone was in front of us. This would've been fine if we had been told before being seated. There seems to be a lack of communication between staff. I hope to return and actually eat here.

We stumbled across this tea room and I'm so glad we did! Fantastic food, huge portions and extremely good value! Excellent service and a gem of a find!

Such a lovely little quaint tearoom, staff were very polite. My husband ordered the full English breakfast and I chose a few items from the breakfast single menu, the price was a little high but I always believe you pay for quality products, and that’s what was used. Poached eggs cooked to perfection. Will definitely return again.

David was awesome. Food was overspilling with lots of little exteas like biscuits with the tea, jam and marmelade pots with the toast, and chocolate with the bill. A really nice, chill experience.

I took my wife here for her 30th bday breakfast. We found a clump of hair in the mushrooms and beans and were told it was the hair off the mushrooms. It looked like something you would pull out the drain it was disgusting. Nearly thrown up. When my son seen it he refused to eat. Now very good if I could I’ve a no stars I would. Messaged the manager after with no response

Came here for lunch on a busy Friday with a friend. A lovely little cafe with a friendly buzz and delicious food. The all day breakfast was the best breakfast I have ever had in a cafe. Freshly cooked, amazing presentation, quality ingredients and all at a reasonable price! The service from the staff was personable and so quick, I can’t thank them enough as they had a full cafe and were clearly busy. I really recommend this place for a bite to eat or coffee and a cake. Must visit!

Been a regular here for years, today I arrived and although there was loads of empty spaces they refused to give me a table as I did not have a booking. Very interesting.

Excellent Sunday brunch. Both the traditional full breakfast and more healthy options were delicious and satisfying. Seating is ‘snug’ but adds to the atmosphere. Service was prompt and attentive.

absolutely disgusted by the manager of this place was extremely rude and had no manners even if you pre book they literally get your booking wrong. felt targeted and absolutely mortified by the manager. From the moment we walked in she clearly had a problem with us just because we were Muslim. She had a bad attitude no manners and felt the need to speak in such a disgusting manner in front of the other customers as well which she was just trying to portray us in front of them like we did something bad. The customers were extremely rude as well which has nothing to do with the cafe but they could just not stop staring at us. The other staff except the manger was very nice but I hope anyone who decides to come here doesn’t have any interaction with the manager. If you are Muslim stay away from this place if you do not want to get stared at the whole time you’re there by the customers and probably by the manager. We pre booked our booking and the manager still had a problem. We were also told we would have a stand each as she clearly told us over the phone but when we arrived our trays were put into two big ones which made no sense? Like don’t say something then you don’t do it. However it was a very bad experience probably because we were Muslim.

Absolutely apaulled and disappointed at the rudeness I receive form the manager after contacting and pre booking a table. Very racist & very disrespectful to ourselves since we were covered form head to toe. Felt very uncomfortable due to the attitude of the manager as well as the people around giving us looks because we were setting up for an afternoon tea. Promised one tray per person as we paid £18 and rather brought out two baskets with all of our orders mixed. Very disappointed & apaulled.

Food was really good and the place is beautiful, aesthetics are beautiful and so cute i loveeeed it. However the service from the manager was so unbelievably and unnecessarily rude. Our booking was wrong, we were treated very differently- probably because we are muslim- and it just really upset us all. We had done nothing wrong, we didn’t cause a hassle or chaos but we were treated very unfairly. I would recommend as it’s beautiful and the food was nice but the treatment, well that’s up to you if you want to go through that. Also portion sizes were kinda small and they got the trays wrong but it is what it is.

Very average coffee sadly. Service was good and food came quickly which helps when dining with young children. Food was tasty and good portion size.

Came for breakfast, had the eggs Benedict and full English. Very good portion sizes, the afternoon tea looks STACKED, and likely worth the price. Recommend reserving in advance for afternoon tea, everything else is walk-in and first come first serve. The service was very good, the team interacted well with the punters and they seem to enjoy working together which makes the atmosphere all that nicer!

This place is great for Afternoon Tea. I booked over the phone for a party of five ladies for a 2.30pm afternoon tea. The table was laid ready for our arrival and the staff knew we were coming. We chose our sandwich filling, scone and cake and the food was all very fresh and super tasty and we ordered tea which came in large teapots. The staff were friendly and helpful and we all enjoyed the meal. Would recommend.

What an amazing find. I was taken here for an afternoon tea to celebrate a special birthday. It really could not have been more perfect - the decor, the welcome of the staff, the food, the drinks, the service, were all first rate. Our afternoon tea was provided swiftly and beautifully presented in a tiered basket. The sandwiches were yummy, the scones were HUGE, and the cake would've fed 3 - 4! I also had a strawberry and banana smoothie, which was extra tasty. It's a pity I live 30 miles away, otherwise I'd be in here on a daily basis!

Very poor and disappointing. Bacon was rock hard and very over cooked. The plate so hot it burnt my arm every time I tried to eat. Hardly ate any of the remaining food and still had to pay £18, hardly any apology and wasn’t even offered a replacement of any items even though I could hardly eat any of it.

Wow!!! Is all I can say. This was my first time here and it did not disappoint. A choice of sanwich, scone, cake and drink for £17pp... which when you saw the portion size was more then justified. Unlike other places when it's finger sandwiches and a few macaroons out of a packet. The sandwiches were fabulous, the scones were the best me and my mum had ever tasted. Unfortunately we didn't get round to easting the cake as we were both absolutely stuffed but we got them wrapped and put in nice colourful paper bags. The staff were so friendly and helpful. Great customer service. Such a lovely setting to be in that you almost forget you're in the middle of Southampton. Will 100% be returning again. Thank you for such a great time.

Staff don't really know what's going on. Sat down and waited at a dirty table with a dirty cloth on it, then they promptly served 3 other sets of customers who came in after us. Won't be going there again. My visit was around 1pm on Thursday 14th April.

A very popular restaurant it was almost standing room only and the reason is the quality food. Quick service by professional staff. I opted for the full English and I was very impressed, the quality of the sausage, bacon and black pudding and poached eggs done to perfection. Well presented and piping hot. When you look at the breakfast menu it's very impressive. The couple next to us opted for the pancakes and fresh berries and cream it was a large dish and lm sure she didn't finish it , l would have struggled as I did with the full English. Excellent service food and value for money.

This is a super cozy, small tea room located in a lively road just north of the Centrsl Library. They serve breakfast, brunch and desserts. I particularly enjoyed the scones, and the desserts' presentation with fresh fruit. The raspberry cake was good. Coffee is just okay.

Was taken here for an early mother's day cream tea and it was soo lovely the place was clean and nicely decorated and the food was amazing would recommend anybody to make a visit x

ALITTLE expensive but pretty looking decor even tho Space felt ALITTLE cramped and sad to say..very slow service and wasn't impressed they expected customers to wait outside in the cold while took ages to clean/lay tables so noticed a few walked away and personally think kitchen should b on view to customers for hygiene reasons and separate walkway to customer toilets rather than same way staff use to go to the kitchen x

Tasty eggs royals! A big portion!

My partner and I went for brunch this morning (16th Jan) and we had such a lovely time! Few minutes wait for a table to be sorted (no problem at all) then when we were sat we were seen to very quickly. We both ordered a vegan fry up with a couple of alterations which weren’t a problem at all. The staff even suggested I could add something else for asking to have mine without a couple of bits. Then my girlfriend baffled them both with a new drink she’s just started enjoying (London Fog) and despite not knowing what it was they were super accommodating and made it anyway, one of them even commenting on the fact it ‘sounded nice and they hoped they’d made it properly for her’ which was lovely. My girlfriend loved it and said it was perfect so thank you. Then the food came out in absolutely no time at all considering they restaurant was full! The portions were monstrous for such a quaint little place (this is entirely a good thing) you get so many bougie places that serve you a quarter of an Avocado on on sourdough and charge you and arm and a leg for it these days as vegans. They had even added things to the breakfast that weren’t written on the board, making it more than what we thought we were paying for. (great touch) so much so that I had to ask that they we’re definitely our plates before starting! The food was lovely, the service was great and my only qualm wasn’t with the experience but that such a small little place doesn’t allow the staff to keep the tips on card. (I’m sure this is now illegal) I’d just suggest that with the pandemic and less people carrying cash you should allow your staff to be tipped on card, as especially today they thoroughly deserved it. So I ran to the cash machine to do so which isn’t ideal! Still not enough to stop a 5* review from me! We shall return!

Waited to be spoken to for ten minutes only to be told we couldn't eat there because they closed in an hour and ten minutes, even though a table of five were just leaving. Not sure why a brunch restaurant is incapable of serving brunch in less than 70 minutes. EDIT: the owner just commented the below reply saying she told us (two people) there was a private function on. This is completely untrue. Her words were (after ignoring us for ten minutes stood like idiots in the middle of her restaurant), "Hi, we are actually closing at 1pm (the time was 11:50)" we said "thats no problem", she continued "its just that you can only sit if you want only drinks really, as theres not enough time to prepare food. We're just so busy." (as a table of five and a table of two were leaving...from a tiny restaurant with 5 tables that is literally a breakfast restaurant). She was completely rude and unwelcoming as you can see below is also a liar. If its not possible to fry an egg in an hour and ten minutes you probably shouldn't be running any kind of restaurant. You definitely shouldn't be in the restaurant industry if you are as rude as this woman is.

We were out for a walk in Bedford Place and fancied a coffee. Halladays stood out, so we popped in. This tea room deserves to be busy every day of the year. Thoroughly recommended.

lovely place for lunch. we had eggs royale and the millies - both big portions, with quality ingredients and perfectly poached eggs. we also treated ourselves to carrot cake and walnut coffee cake (the latter a bit dry). nice ambience and friendly service.

This was a delightful little place we went down for an English breakfast and it does not disappoint, the staff are lovely as this makes the place with it quaint decoration and homely friendly feel, this is well worth a visit the one thing I will ad is that the place is fairly small and as we were there people were waiting to get in it must be popular which means it's nice and worth it, Inside felt a little restricted the tables were small and the plates were big this resulting in dropping the cutlery quite often lol, the staff were very helpful,

Tried here once by chance and been back almost every week since. Good portions and good quality, just fairly expensive to match

Not the type of place you want to associate yourself with if you have things to do. Don’t let you book table but the worst part is that they don’t open on time. Stood outside for half an hour and no one showed up on Sunday morning.

A rather beautiful and cute place to have fancy high tea. I have had better ones before I would still rank it 5 star because of the ambiance, cleanliness, hygiene, service, waiting and all factors. Price was bit higher for this menu but maybe because the area is expensive and it’s in the heart of the city. Parking is a challenge to access the place because there isn’t immediate parking spaces on the road it’s situated and you’d be lucky if you get one on either side of the road. My experience was great and I’d recommend.

Went there on Sunday 3rd Oct. We were fortunate to find a table as the place gets busy. Impressed by how professional and genuine staff were. My friend burned her hand with coffee. Staff and owners couldn't be more helpful and caring. Breakfast was cooked and presented in perfection. Fair prices (you get a lot of good quality food for what you pay). Chai latte was also really good. The place is filled with quirky deco. If you are ever in Southampton, go and visit. I recommend it.

7 of us had a really delicious afternoon tea! We booked in advance over the phone and the woman was really accommodating to our needs. The food was really delicious and there was plenty - we had to take some cake home! I would highly recommend this place. We had a lovely afternoon.

This is a very pretty little tea room and a nice place to be, but it didn't really live up to our expectation when we visited. We ordered baguettes from the menu, but the waitress returned to say they were out of baguettes and we were offered a sandwich instead. That didn't appeal and didn't seem worth the money, so we declined and skipped lunch completely. On leaving, we learned that the baguettes were coming off the menu, as not enough people were ordering them. We thus left with the impression that the plan was always to offer a sandwich when a baguette was ordered. It was not quite the experience that we hoped for, but we will try again another day and hope that all of the items on the nice little menu will be available....

Visited this cafe last week and was really disappointed had a sandwich and it was nothing like they used to be a few years ago when they served the sandwich with best chips I've ever had now you just get a few crisps won't be going back
