Hakkasan is an absolute gem! From the moment you step in. The food is served fresh and is utterly delicious. Their Peking duck is a must-try, and I couldn't get enough of the Hakka's. The service was attentive, adding to the overall delightful experience. I highly recommend Hakkasan to anyone craving an exceptional dining experience. Just a small disclaimer: you may become addicted to their exquisite flavors and warm hospitality. Love, love, love Hakkasan!

The food and atmosphere was excellent. When we arrived we had a waiter serve our table. He could only talk to my husband and kept referring to him. I was deeply insulted he would not speak or look at me when explaining the menu restaurant etc. I think it was because I was female. I have never been disregarded to that extent in my whole life. My husband and I were deeply upset. Being totally honest I am insulted, so much so It brought me to tears and destroyed my night. I didn’t want to say anything but my husband spoke up and only for him. When we raised the issue we had a new waiter serve our table who was excellent pleasant and spoke and referred to both of us at the table. The food was out of this world excellent Atmosphere was excellent Service was insulting to say the least! Value for money fair Would I go back again- possibly not because I’m so hurt by the poor table manners of that one waiter. Being disregarded to that extent has NEVER EVER happened me and it was appalling! The management tried to cover up the situation but it was too little too late. Our night was deeply insulting.

My experience at the restaurant was lackluster. Despite its reputation, the service was patchy, and the food fell short of expectations, lacking the quality I anticipated from such a renowned venue. Overall, it was an underwhelming dining experience.

I don’t know what to think of this place. It’s certainly London cool. Location is a bit out of the way but the restaurant is interesting and has a good vibe. The food….i think you need to know what to order in this place. It was kind of hit or miss with us. Some dishes were very imaginative, like the raman noodle lobster pasta (see photo); that was totally unique, I have never seen something like this before. They pour some soupy liquid over the “animal” (?), and it all melts into a pasta. You can see I was highly impressed! :) The staff were excellent and helpful. One big issue is the noise level, which makes dinner with friends less enjoyable.

What a horrible place, a dark and noisy luxury canteen, with awful music and overpowering incense smell, tables crammed so close to each other that waiters kept on knocking against me with anything they were carrying, and of course impossible to talk. The wine list is ridiculously priced, not one decent one at a reasonable price, waiting time between courses around 40 minutes, with this hideous brain washing music at a very disturbing volume. The only decent aspect was the food which was ok. But my wine bottle was not with me and i could not administer as i like. Hygene, terrible, waiters handling sticks and cutlery without any care and our glasses were clearly poorly washed. But Worst of all, my wife did not enjoy it at all, absolute disaster. Never again, I fail to understand the hype over this overpriced, noisy, dark, crammed and generally horrible cellar.

The lighting of the restaurant was extremely dark. The food was a little bland for my liking and lacked flavour, I would have expected a little more flavour from a restaurant of this calibre. The service was a little too pushy for my liking there were too many waiters and waitresses serving us and forcing us to order drinks. Without even asking they poured our water in one glass and pushed for us to buy another bottle which we had no choice to do so. This place is extremely expensive so be prepared for a hefty bill at the end of the night go in with low expectations.

Food was very good, really enjoyed the flavours and cooking of the dishes. Service was extremely poor, and didn’t match the standard of food or price point. Multiple times we had to ask the team to remove glasses and plates, including when they were trying to place more dishes down. Service team didn’t know the menu, we asked for a corn soup and told that wasn’t a thing despite being the first item on the menu. Atmosphere - very busy, nice buzz about the place, but difficult to enjoy a conversation between 4 people. It was the first time at hakkasan, food was very good, can’t dispute that, but based on service I’d eat elsewhere.

Great food but rude and oppressive service ruined the experience somehow. Staff came unsolicited to our table towards the end of dinner and started getting into calculations including loudly disclosing the gift voucher amount I was using (which was not supposed to be known by my partner) and pressing us to order more so that they wouldn't have to refund the 100gbp booking fee which would be "easier". This was rude and disruptive and only made us want to leave. Not a level of service you would expect given the high prices including the hefty 15% service charge

We was sitting where they was serving from and a few times the servers interrupted our conversation thinking we was talking to them but my major issue was being asked leave our table as soon as we finished eating. We only just got the dessert when they asked that we finish our drinks at the bar as soon as we finished the food. We had only been in the restaurant for 1 hour 15 mins at this point. So we clearly had not been sitting there for ages and considering the cost I am appalled that we could enjoy our meal in peace and drink a coffee or liqueur at the table after our meal. Maybe think less about the profits and more about our your customers!

Our family have been coming to this restaurant for years to celebrate milestones, and anniversaries. My husband Simon, booked a table online for 3pm for our daughters 18th birthday. We arrived at around 2:45, which was a little earlier than our booking. We were taken to our seats and before we sat down the waiter said.' the kitchen is closing and we should have arrived earlier'. He then went on a tirade about having to bring out all the dishes together as the kitchen is closing and that we should arrive earlier next time! Our daughter has Autism and immediately started to feel uncomfortable at the telling off for booking a 3pm table online. She then started to feel that it was her fault. My husband spoke to the manager in private about the whole situation and the waiter was promptly moved on. We were then allocated a lovely waitress who treated us well. Our bill was over £500 and we were still charged for service! This is not the memorable day we wanted to make for our daughters 18th.

Michelin restaurant??? The Hakkasan restaurant in London are just scammers, be aware that if you order Peking duck the waitress will bring you the whole duck to the table and then she takes it to the kitchen when you are not seeing it and then they give you back a few pieces of real Peking duck on a plate and then you get some kind of duck dish Fried in a sauce that has nothing to do with King Duck. It feels like cheating. And it costs £160, from a Michelin restaurant I would expect more. When I complained to the shift manager about this he apologized and credited us with £65. In addition, I must mention that it has been a long time since I encountered an angry, unkind and unhelpful waitress. I don't recommend going there

I choose a Steamed Dim Sum as starter and was delicious as always: Then picked a Stir-fry Black Pepper Rib Eye Beef with Merlot, was cooked to my liking, just perfect, accompanied with the sides of Steamed Jasmine Rice and vegetables, just perfect. We end the meal with their fabulous dessert. Service was prompt and seamless from arrival till we leave. Thank you.

It’s so sad that I have been going to this restaurant since it opened in 2001. I’ve had many happy birthdays and celebrations here, and booked loads of client events. My friends and I hadn’t been for four years because of 2020 and living away so we were so excited to be back at your restaurant. Our experience was very different from past ones. Apart from a very kind host called Vincenzo the service was terrible. The lady waiting on us was very uncommunicative and when I tried to pursue the conversation about the menu and polite conversation I was given absolutely nothing back. A request for extra dim sum was refused by the chef, and we had to wait a long time for drinks. On our way out three members of staff were lingering near the reception area, I said good night and one said as we were leaving “thank God for that”. We were polite, respectful customers. How has this happened to one of our old favourites?

Honest opinion: TLDR - it’s just not the place for me Hakkasan Hanway Place is recommended by Michelin, but not recommended by me, as a HKer. Growing up, I have been eating DimSum for years. Hakkasan’s DimSum is more of a “fusion” of Western & Asian cuisine, which tastes alright, but not traditional & authentic. Thus, why it didn’t appeal to me. Tea is £4-8 (as of 2023), which is served in one teapot without any tea leaves inside. Personally, the tea tastes quite “watery”, lacking much flavor. Not worth the price for drinking “slightly flavored hot water”. Below are some dishes we tried + feedback: Grilled Chilean sea bass in honey (£58) - the sea bass is usually served with sauces still dripping off of it. Yet, the sea bass is rather dry, and there is not enough sauce to give it that extra flavor. Sweet and sour Dingy dell pork (£32) - no complaints there, pretty well done, would actually recommend Black truffle roasted duck (£51) - one of my favorites among the rest of the dishes, would recommend Wok-fried Yorkshire Wagyu beef ho fun noodles (£33) - as someone from HK, I can say that this lacks “wok-hey”, and the beef’s texture is a bit stiff. Char Siu - this is below average compared to the Char Siu in HK - as the pork is rather lean and the meat is dry. In HK, we usually use a more fatty cut of meat, which gives the Char Siu a more fatty & soft texture. Plus, we serve it with more sauces on the sides, which pairs well with rice. Tofu claypot (£24) - actually not bad, would recommend Environment: it seemed more like a club than a YumCha place. The music is loud, and the place is dark. So if you’re genuinely there for traditional YumCha, I don’t think this is a good place. I’d recommend visiting other YumCha places in Chinatown if you want a more authentic & traditional taste of YumCha for a much cheaper price. Recommended dishes: Sweet and Sour Dingely dell pork, Black truffle roasted duck, Tofu claypot

I requested my card not to be charged since this is a cancellation from their end. I got my card almost charged 200 GBP yesterday for the cancellation I did not do. Luckily my bank's security system did not allow the transaction. I had to cancel this card since this was not an authorised transaction. I had to call my bank, ask for a new card. We ordered the most expensive set meal for 4 people, The Silk, £ 268 pp! After all it was our daughter’s birthday and it was her choice to go to Hakkasan, Hanway Place. Considering this is a Michelin star restaurant, the service was not only rushed but very erratic!!!!! We ordered a bottle of Moet champagne to toast the birthday girl, however we had to wait until they could get the bottle to get chilled! We had the same issue with the second bottle too! The kids ordered a couple of cocktails while we were waiting, and the waiter thought that therefore they didn’t want any champagne, total communication breakdown. This was because they were so busy they never actually listened to what we were saying and we had numerous waiters serve us! Surely one waiter should have been assigned to our table. We couldn’t fault the food, it was great, however the dishes/courses came thick and fast, we felt very rushed, so the food got cold quickly as there was too much to eat at any one time. £1400 later we left Hakkasan, disappointed. I should have been all about our daughter’s birthday, not the bad, disappointing service!

I was really looking forward to tonight’s dinner at Hakkasan as I am a loyal customer and went to Hakkasan lots of times. Unfortunately because of Covid my last visit was 2 years ago and absolutely everything has changed since then. First we arrived in a completely littered entrance which trash bags everywhere and literally a girl puked into a corner of the house in front of us as a warm welcome. When we arrived we sat next to 3 girls in underwear watching very loud videos on their phones. Eventually their bill has arrived which they couldn’t pay. They had to call their lovers to send them money which took a while and made everybody uncomfortable as the waiters also wanted the table ready for the next customers. In the meantime they got our drinks order wrong 5 times and we had our 3rd course already when finally the still wrong drink arrived. Then the new table neighbors arrived and started smoking their vape… The girl again dressed in underwear behind me had a phone Stativ installed and a portable selfie light/ very bright flash light on filming herself having dinner full time. The food was ok. Some dishes were really good, some really bad. After waiting 30 minutes after finishing our main dish they waiters finally cleared our tiny table which was full of empty plates. Never mind asking us if we would like to have more drinks never mind water. After again 30 minutes of waiting we decided to leave and skip desert which never arrived. We just wanted to escape this vulgar atmosphere and bad service. This experience took 3 hours btw. Very unfortunate since I always enjoyed going to Hakkasan such as my family and friends but I will not come back here again nor will my friends and family.

Hakkasan was okay, but.. merely okay. Most dishes felt underseasoned, and underspiced - I'm not a huge fan of heat, but almost everything served just notched the flavour and the heat down a few steps too far. Even the Szechuan Octopus - wonderfully cooked with quite a nice flavour - had absolutely no spice to it. For something billed as 'Szechuan,' this is disappointing. A lot of dishes felt like they were relying on 'big ticket' ingredients rather than flavour - caviar, lobster, and wagyu are an easy sell, but they ended up entirely immemorable due to the lack of flavour and excitement. No dish was bad. A few dishes had very good elements - chili beef totally lacked chili, but was marvelously crispy. The duck with XO sauce was extremely tasty, as were all of the vegetables that came with. Everything was cooked perfectly, but felt almost soulless - like the whole restaurant has been dialed back from it's cantonese roots a few steps too far to appeal to a touristy London audience, and falls totally flat. The best dish was the citrus dessert - at least one pastry chef in that kitchen knows how to make something that punches you in the face with flavour but still feels balanced. Nothing else was memorable. The service is inattentive, with some staff making me feel like a nuisance. For such an established restaurant, just saying that it 'has potential' seems insane, but that is how I am left feeling - it has potential, but it is wasting it. Well executed utterly soulless food with a front of house to match. It just does not justify the price tag, or the Michelin star. For what it costs, it is a 2/5 at best.

This was an important dinner and as all our food didn’t arrive together we had a wait a while. We were later told the table was needed. Which is out of our hands given we are waiting on the food ordered. The food however was exceptional.

Massively overpriced and under-sized. Don't order the duck - they show you a whole one then bring you half at most. Food was tasty, but there wasn't much of it for £200. Better and cheaper available elsewhere.

My favourite restaurant in London! Atmosphere is unparalleled with beautiful dark surrounds with a stylish Chinese interior - you feel transported to a different place. Service is also quality and the food keeps you coming back - the duck pancakes and dumplings cannot be missed!

We had the signature duck, with a crispy beef small dish. The beef was really tasty, although I'm not sure there was much beef in there. With the duck, they bring it out to show you, then take it away to cut it up and serve you. It comes as 16 pancakes with a sliver of meet and a square of skin on, then a main dish (we chose the XO sauce). The pancakes were tasty, although they could have done with more meat and more hoi sin - there wasn't much of either. The 2nd course duck was small and fine but in no way special - if we'd paid £8 for it at a local Chinese restaurant we would have thought it was OK. If the duck had just been served as the dishes we'd have thought it was tasty but over-priced and under-sized, but it's a Michelin starred place so not too surprising. Saying its the whole duck, showing you the whole duck, and then serving you barely half of it just makes it feel like a con. We were in and out within about an hour and a quarter, without the service feeling particularly good - but they do charge 15% service charge - discretionary of course! The food we had was tasty, but for just over £200 for the 2 of us (2 small beers, 1 glass of wine) we don't feel like it was in any way value for money.

I came here with my wife and baby but much to my surprise, there were not really any accommodations for babies for example basic things like there were no baby chairs, changing facilities, etc - slightly disappointing considering the cost of everything but nonetheless the restaurant itself was very nice and clean. The staff were very attentive and looked after us well for the most part but the food was a little bit too bland for my liking, even the 'spicy' options were very quite bland and lacked flavour. Overall, we enjoyed a nice evening out but considering how much we paid for the night, I'm not quite sure I would do it again here for the foreseeable future.

The interiors, the vibe, the music, the bar, the food, the staff - we simply love the place! This is our third time here before Christmas, and it did not disappoint this time around either. Despite the wait (we waited 30 minutes after out timeslot) we had a blast. As before we went for the "Taste of Hakkasan"-menu, served after 21.00 on weekends. It is a bargain for such a great restaurant, and we really enjoyed it. Special place!

As one would expect from a Michelin starred restaurant the food and ambience were top class. We opted for a set menu with cocktails to start, but they weren’t willing to serve a simple gin and tonic in exchange for their vodka martini which seemed petty. Oh, and a 15% service charge was added to the bill: I always prefer to leave my tip in cash as one doesn’t know if the company actually pass the service charge on to their staff.

Great dimsum restaurant. The food is beautiful. The dim sum was best of its kind. Main course menu were very westernised and innovative. Thus, if you are looking for traditional high end experience, this is not exactly the right place. This is for more of a new style with international or western twist. The atmosphere and service is simply five stars. Cocktail and wine selection is also five star.

Accoglienza ottima e il personale all'ingresso cordiale. Scegliamo un menu nella media. Antipasti molto buoni.

Pretty awful service. We were 10 min early and they made us stand by the bar - for no particular reason except to sell drinks. When we were ready to leave took at least 30 min to get a bill. Staff could not be bothered, and we signaled to multiple people we were ready to leave. Food was ok but not great. Then when we walked out (after paying) someone came running after us that we still needed to settle the bill. Really??There are so many better alternatives without this pretentious atmosphere.

The food was good. However the service was bad - now this is supposed to be a Michelin star'ed restaurant i have had better service in a pizza chain. Basically as soon as you put your chopsticks down stuff was being taken away. They even stood over my husband waiting for him to finish! We had only been there 30mins or so when this happened. Half way through my desert on the set menu - i paused and it was whipped away ...was quite laughable if it wasn't so expensive. A guy next to me got nice service from someone not the restaurant waiting staff so made us feel even more just a number waiting to move us on. Cocktails were crazy expensive - maybe £25 i cant remember before service. Very dark - people had their phones on to read the menu! So all in all we won't be returning. It wasn't absolutely terrible as the food was tasty but honestly hundreds of places to go that are better than this!

Food lovely but being rushed through every course completely ruined the evening. We asked to slow courses down (chose a set menu) and they said no time (for their production line). We spent over £350/head for the 6 of us (£2,000 +) and to top it off told we couldn’t stay at our table for coffee and liqueurs, even though we arrived on time for our table. There are plenty of good food places in London where we can enjoy a family celebration and we will choose those in future. A shame as we have been to this Hakasan many times over the years but won’t return.

First experience and safe to say i will not be returning. You must clarify your bill as they like to add things on. We went with the £39 menu and we were charged for £49 menu instead, they gave some useless excuse about the drinks being the same price once added on but our drinks would’ve been cheaper once i worked it out at home if added on seperately. We didn’t order alcohol just for reference and that is what the £49 menu entails. Food was mediocre. You can go to an authentic cantonese restaurant and get better tasting food for cheaper and better quality. One of the waiters (bald with glasses) was incredibly annoying from the get go, he kept screaming in my ear when communicating with me and was also spitting quite a lot which was putting me off my food. The tables are so cramped in there that i kept getting my head and back knocked by staff when they were going to other tables to deliver food. The same annoying waiter also dropped a spoon from another table (although clean but not the point) onto my plate whilst i was eating. They dropped something from another table behind me right next to me and between the loud music, and the yelling from the staff it was a unpleasant experience. You’re also waiting ages for someone to acknowledge you want to leave and give you the bill. I noticed one other review mentioned this on google and funny enough they were also on the £39 menu.. guess you’re not as important when you’re on a taster menu. Between all this, I took the service charge off and who i assume was the manager asked why, i detailed the waiter and dropping of stuff onto my plate and being knocked in the head.. no apology just silently left and drew up the new bill. Save your money. I will never be going again.

My partner and me went Hakkasan yesterday to celebrate birthday. The food was amazing, especially dimsums. Great food every time we have been. The al la carte and set menus can be pricey but if you pre-theatre and ask for the taste of Hakkasan menu you find it more modestly priced albeit still expensive. The Beef in Merlot is a triumph, the dim sum is exceptional and i recommend the Hakka cocktail if you like something on the sweeter side. It’s underground so no views but the service is outstanding and you won’t get much better food elsewhere in London.

Called for take out meal while staying at Travelodge just across the road. The guy who served us was really lovely and very accommodating. We ordered the beef bulgogi & jjajangmyeon and both dishes were out of this world. To top it all there was a lovely note in the bag wishing my daughter well & two free korean drinks. Thank you so much. We will definitely be back when we are next in London.
