Gurkha Square in Hart

Good prompt service . A good atmosphere but very poor food . I ordered a paneer tikka but unfortunately it was just oily and bland, I couldn’t eat it . The paneer and vegetables were cut in huge chunks, without any finesse . The rice was fine . In fairness the staff noticed I wasn’t eating and took the price of the dish off the bill and were very attentive and apologetic. But as a vegetarian I know the spices need to be right with paneer because unlike meat it has no flavour of its own . Really very disappointing as I’d driven a long way to eat at this restaurant, having had good meals there in the past .

Excellent curry, only let down by beer choice and smaller than expected nan bread.

Well worth a visit! The place was packed but didn't phase the staff, food was lovely and a great atmosphere. Recommended (only photo I took was the beer and poppadom sorry)

Cosy atmosphere and very friendly staffs.. Loved the freshly prepared lamb curry which blends perfectly with the Gurkha beer... Value for money... Will definitely visit again soon...

Amazing food, fantastic staff, great value.

Great little restaurant if you like proper Asian food or a change from the usual insipid Indian food that's served in that area. Service is good and the food excellent. A bit noisy when full with loud mouth customers, but otherwise it's ok.

From the moment we walked through the door we was made to feel welcome! The service was quick and very friendly! Great recommendations for the food from our waiter. When the doos come it was very fresh and tasted amazing! First time visiting Gurkha Square but definitely not the last! My personal favourite was the Momos the best I have had!

Incredible food, get the chicken curry in ‘dry nut sauce’ - I forget the Nepalese name for the dish (well, I never knew it in the first place) but it’s so delicious.. Definitely a westernised curry, sweet and nutty- not spicy. But for my tastebuds it’s perfection

Absolutely loved our dinner in the Gurkha Square, Fleet. The staff are wonderful, attentive, funny and confident to help recommend favourite dishes, and dishes suitable for dietary requirements, allergies and vegetarian dishes. We took my Mum for her birthday and they treated her to a cake and singing from the staff, such amazing group of staff there! Above all, the food all came out fast and was beautiful presented and tasted amazing!

This place is always really busy, so sometimes the service is a little slow. But the staff are great and so is the atmosphere. Most importantly the food is divine... See you again Bonfire night....

Excellent food. Did my usual trick of not reading the menu and just asking the waiter to choose. You tell him what meat, lamb ,chicken etc how spicy and Bob's your uncle. And for those sceptics he doesn't pick tge most expensive item on the menu. Looking forward to going back.

Best curry in Fleet. Been here a long time and serves primarily Nepalese dishes. You'll find dishes on the menu that you won't find in most other restaurants, even those badged as Nepalese. The food quality is excellent, and most importantly it is served by really friendly staff. My favourite restaurant.

I wanted to take out for dinner friends who live away, we’re relatively new to the area ourselves so not had chance to dine out much. I stumbled across this place on Google Maps, read the reviews and thought let’s give it a try! It turned out to be a great decision 😋. Like everyone else this was our first time at a restaurant of this kind, our greeter asked this and so helped us through the menu. To be honest it’s mostly fairly explanatory but good to have someone assist. They are keen to take you out if your comfort zone tempting you by prawn and fish if you suggest you have Chicken usually, for example! We began with x4 starters to share between the four of us, this was good as it allowed us to sample different dishes. They were all delicious. The gentleman also discussed mains with us, mainly focusing on meat choice and heat. Once he had an idea of our tastes he declared our dishes would be chosen by him, with it taken out of our hands!! This is the first time any of us had let the waiter decided upon our choices 🫣🤣. However, as I say I’d read previous reviews who had mentioned this so I assured my friends this style normally works out with customers! I’m pleased to say our mains were fantastic 👌🏼. Really nice food, expertly cooked from scratch or as near as damn it from a commercial point of view! One thing I would say, is it would of been nice to if known which each dish was called….. because we have no idea! (A different guy served us). The bill came to £121 for the four of us, which works out about £30 a head for a drink, starter and main. Not cheap, but perfectly reasonable in this current financial uncertainty. We were the first ones in the restaurant at about 5:50 on a Saturday evening (I had booked), within an hour it was full. That says a lot. Opening times on Google state 5:30, on the restaurant door it say’s 6pm! A little confusing, something maybe they could look at.

Having never had Nepalese food before I was eager to try something different and I was not disappointed! We told them what we liked and they brought us the recommended dishes, everything was amazing. Will definitely be returning. Loved everything, food, staff, atmosphere, all wonderful!

L'endroit est propre, calme et agréable. La carte est variée, propose des choix très différents, agneau, poulet, poisson, légumes, chacun cuisinés de façons différentes. Le service est rapide, bien, et attentionné à vos demandes. Tout cela avec le sourire. Le seul reproche que je peux faire, est que nos différents plats étaient vraiment très salés, ce qui gâche un peu les épices.

What a pleasant surprise. Welcomed with a smile, small wait as didn't book and the place was full on a Thursday, so suggest you call ahead. Staff were attentive and gave recommendations. Food was brilliant, I asked for hot and it's what I got, freshly cooked waited 30-40 min for it and don't mind at all..... it's cooked to order. I tried my wife's lamb shank and it was brilliant too, must have been marinated and pre cooked because it was so soft and flavor all the way through, spectacular. It's actually better than I can do, so that means I'll be back. Loved the beer too, suggest you try that. We took our left overs , didn't want to waste anything. Absolute pleasure to find such a gem which will now become one of our regulars.

I don't need much convincing to try a Nepali restaurant! This one is great. Food delicious and delivered by a highly entertaining waiter (think he was the manager/owner) who was very funny and helpful in suggesting dishes. Only downside during our visit was another diner who was outrageously loud and noisy and seemingly unaware or inconsiderate of the effect on other diners trying to enjoy a meal. Not the fault of the restaurant though. This place is highly convenient with a car park opposite and right next to the new Holiday Inn Express.

Excellent meal. Loads of interesting food choices and we took advice from the very well informed and friendly staff as to what to choose. Portion sizes just right and everything was cooked fresh to order. Air con was appreciated ! Will definitely come back - everything was outstanding!

Wow! What an experience! 🤩 I was so happy with the service and quality of the food and so glad I tried many new dishes while there. Definitely listen to the recommendations on the starters. Momo dumplings 🥟 are divine and the chicken and lamb salad dishes just simply have to be tried. The picture on the Gurkha beer bottle looks a lot like Lewis Hamilton though, made me chuckle 😂 Wouldn’t hesitate to come back again, see you soon Sathi 🤗

I've become a regular here. It's a small, unfussy dining area, but because it's so popular, always has a good atmosphere. The main thing is the food, its always excellent. I'm sure it's as authentic as it gets outside of Nepal !

Been going to Gurkha Square for years and have come to the conclusion that it's the best restaurant in Fleet. Great authentic food and great service is complimented by a really great atmosphere in what is small but comfortable restaurant. 10% discount when you pick up your takeaway is a nice touch too!

Stayed overnight in hotel next door and was looking for a bite to eat. Staff managed to fit us in without a booking and were very welcoming and attentive throughout. Poppadoms were good but the chutney tray was pretty bland. The main courses were fantastic. 2 dishes consisted of lamb and the third was a duck breast which was superb. All were accompanied by well cooked and tasty rice. The food was excellent and deserving of the lovely staff who served it. Thoroughly recommend!

After trying several Indian/Nepalese takeaways in the area over the last 3 years, I can’t believe we hadn’t tried this one sooner. So much flavour and every dish distinct from one another. Arrived on time having ordered through just eat and all very fresh and hot. Looking forward to returning soon

Amazing. Couldn't have been more welcoming. Didn't have a booking but they made sure we had a table within half an hour. Prompt service, excellent food and atmosphere. All staff were so friendly. A lot of return regular customers. Now been 4 times and it's still as good as the first !

We came for an early dinner as we were staying locally, like Nepalese food and hadn't been to this restaurant before. The staff were friendly and helpful and there was a wide variety of vegetarian options. The food was freshly cooked and delicious. The only negative is that the restaurant is not big, with lots of tables and there was a very noisy party next to us. Absolutely not the fault of the proprietors but made conversation difficult. Next time we'll avoid a Saturday.

Easily booked on-line with confirmation received. Also received welcome reminder on the day of the booking. 4 of us, seniors, enjoyed a wonderful meal in this lovely restaurant. The staff were superb and very understanding when one couple were late. The staff were all cheerful, happy to advise and explain the various dishes. All in all it proved an excellent, most enjoyable evening with superb food. Everyone enjoyed their plentiful, very tasty, meals. I chose the Gurkha Square Special and mushroom rice. Delicious and varied tastes from a plentiful amount of food.

They were absolutely wonderful when I called to say a dish hadn't been delivered- turned out it had and I had got it wrong, but they were so lovely about my mistake. The food was increadible, hands down the best takeaway I've had in Surrey. Particular highlights were Sadeko Kukhura Chicken (which WAS delivered!), Bhasker Chicken, Hakka Noodles vegetables and Momo. 10/10 customer service and food quality, can't wait for next take-away night! Second review: these people are just TOP notch. Just had another (a few months after the above) and you must watch out for the hottest chilli's in the world ever (mouth still on fire) but the flavours are second to none. We went to pick up as unfortunately they don't deliver to us (we're like, .3 of a mile out of range, irritatingly!) But they are such warm and lovely hosts when you go to pick up. Took my in-laws for dinner for the first time. We were welcomed warmly and the staff were very helpful and recommended the best dishes. All the dishes were amazing and delicious, went well with the naan bread that was cooked with charcoal for the extra softness inside and crunchy outside. The dessert was very satisfying as well. High quality food which was representative of the price. The staff are really lovely and do their utmost to ensure you have the best experience. I ordered the halloumi sizzler and it was unreal! The only negative is it is very loud in the restaurant, therefore if you are looking to have a relaxing meal here is not that place as often you are shouting across the table! But if that is what you’re looking for then this is an excellent place

We ate here for the first time last night & had such a great time. The staff are so friendly & welcoming. They reccomended dishes & sides to go with each & when the food came it was delicious - really lovely flavours & good quality food. They portions were a good size & the atmosphere in the restaurant itself is really nice. We can't wait to come back.

We had a wonderful time at the Gurkha Square, although we had to wait a little to be seated the staff were very accommodating and friendly. The waiting staff recommended dishes which would go well with other things we ordered, and were very attentative in general. The food was fantastic, delicious and also quite unique. Highly recommend the Bhaskar Chicken! The food was very fairly priced for the quality and quantity. All in all, we will definitely visit again as it was such an enjoyable meal.
