Gurkha Kitchen Nottingham in Nottingham

I have been to lots of Nepalese Restaurants but this place is special one. It was my first visit, the taste and quality of food was totally delicious. Ambiance was very lovely. Moreover hospitality from staffs was friendly and attentive.Highly recommended !

Went out hoping for a nice meal with my partner after a busy days work. It started out lovely but then another couple came in who were sat by us and one of the staff members young children came and sat with them and didn't stop talking and making a noise. This began to irritate me and i struggled to continue eating my food. One of the other couple eventually went outside to escape the child then politely told one of the staff members they had a headache in the hope they would remove the child but they didn't take the hint. It took some time but they eventually told the child they would see him in the bar after and the child went over to another part of the restaurant bouncing and kicking a ball around which could also be heard. The man of the couple said that it happened every time they went in there which I think is very unfair. Its a lovely restaurant and the food is great but to have staff members kids bothering customers is not great at all.

One of the worst meals I ever had. The place is a jumble of crap including motor bikes etc etc . The wiring staff consisted to a couple of young girls just running around like headless chickens

Extremely welcoming and outstanding food! We were a family of 8 who enjoyed a wonderful meal. The food is of high quality, extremely tasty and so much of it that we had a doggy bag!

Family friendly restaurant gives the authentic Nepalese vibes with the decor and their dishes. High recommended place for a day out.

We are regulars at the Gurkhas kitchen and we visit a least once a month. We mostly have takeaways and sit have a drink whilst we wait however occasionally we do eat-in and meet with friends/family. The service is always excellent and the food is always fantastic. We have recommended the restaurant to numerous friends and family who are all now regular visitors

The food at the Gurkha Kitchen continues to be outstanding. What people should know is that it is possible to bespoke the majority of dishes as they are cooked fresh. I don’t eat meat and the Chef will prepare virtually anything on the menu for me and it is always how I specify and excellent.

OUR ULTIMATE FAVOURITE!!! We have been visiting Gurkha Kitchen for nearly 14 years now and had countless visits as a couple, with friends, and with family. They NEVER disappoint whether in the restaurant with its wonderful atmosphere and lovely service, or as a takeaway. Portions are always generous. Food is always cooked to perfection, to can really tell that they are passionate about their craft. Recently, I had to make some dietary changes and Andeep very kindly offered to amend my favourite dish (Nauni chicken!) for me to still enjoy. There’s plenty of options I can have regardless but it’s even more special that they were able to accommodate. Thank you all for such amazing experiences - long may Gurkha Kitchen continue!!!

Got to my mod 1 test with no actual training from any school however watched leana’s YouTube videos to understand what needed to be done and her videos were a massive part of my sec learning! When I got there I met russ who had a student doing his test as well and Russ gave me some final advice on the manoeuvres and tips to help with my test with no cost at all to him. He pointed out key areas that I had not known and also refreshed my memory from some of the videos I had seen on YouTube. He also helped to settle my nerves and in the end I walked away with a perfect pass on my first go! Honestly so grateful for leana’s insightful videos and russ’s kind gesture as he did not have to give me any advice at all! There are still good people in this world and they are deffo at roadcraft! If you are a new new rider I’d highly reccomend getting on their course as I can see just from the free information I received that there courses have to be 2nd to none! Thanks guys! Really appreciate the work you do!

What an amazing adventure with Roadcraft. Last week I passed my Mod 1, and today I have passed my Mod 2, so happy with myself, however I wouldn’t of done it without Leana, super friendly and such an amazing teacher, I couldn’t say anything negative about Roadcraft staff, very sad to say good bye infact. From CBT to passing MoD 2 with these guys was a fantastic experience, the team are so good at what they do. Very friendly but firm when it’s needed which is exactly what I needed. hopefully be taking my advanced rider course with them. I can’t thank the team enough.!

Big thanks to the whole team at road craft, From my CBT on 31st may to passing my mod 2 today (27th July) 8 weeks and 1 day to save you doing the maths (7 lessons). They’re not there to string you along and take your money as they brought my test forward when they thought I was ready to “save your money” is their exact words. Recently passed my full bike test with Roadcraft and I can't recommend this team enough. I did most of my lessons with Leanna an amazing calm and patient instructor also very thorough. She does not miss a thing, she told me we don't train you to pass your test we train you well in excess of passing your test which is good to know. I also had lessons with John who I really enjoyed riding with, very good instruction and filled me with confidence. I sometimes see the instructors out with learners around Nottingham and feel a little jealous, says it all can't thank the team enough.

Just met Russ at the Honda free ride experience. Great guy that puts you at ease with plenty of time and patience. Would definitely recommend and will be booking in lessons asap !

Thanks to Roadcraft, I passed my DAS Mod 2 with zero faults. My whole journey with them, from CBT to Mod 2, has been a pleasure. I can't rate them highly enough for their professionalism (with the possible exception of Russ) and their patience. From that first car park ride with Rich to riding back from the test centre with Lianna, every instructor has been considerate, efficient and patient. The team has a number of instructors, each with there own style of teaching, and no matter your learning style or level of confidence, you'll find someone who will fit. I can't rate Lianna highly enough. Without her, the process would have been much more arduous, but she's attentive,strict, and fair, and just what I needed to polish up and get through it. Just to want to say a big thank you to the whole roadcraft team and I look forward to seeing you soon for my advance rider training!

After riding for about 10 years I decided to take some advanced riding instruction last year . The team was fantastic and made the experience fun whilst assessing and advising helping me to ride safer and smoother . I learnt a lot and certainly improved my riding .

I joined up with Roadcraft Nottingham after reading these reviews and watching Russ's many instructional and review videos on YouTube. Russ (one of the most experienced instructors in the area), John and Leanna are not just highly qualified and expereinced instructors but also true motorbike enthusiasts and great people to be around. They are efficient and friendly and helped me to easily overcome some bad habits I had picked up on the 40 years since I last rode regularly. I let my nerves get to me on Mod 1 exam but with their help I got back up and sat it again and passed. I then passed Mod 2 on the first attempt to my delight. Roadcraft Nottingham are much more than a driving school, they are also willing to advise on any aspect of motorcyling including what bikes will suit your needs. They also have great bike shops next to their riding schools in Aspley and Long Eaton if you decide like many others to purchase your bike from them. Thanks to all at RN for all your help.

Diabolical riding from the instructor, nearly caused a pile-up.

Signed my daughter up for the taster session as a Christmas present, which she thoroughly enjoyed. Got chatting with the very nice people at Roadcraft, and after having watched most of Russ's videos for observations, cornering, etc., I decided to sign up for the Enhanced Rider Scheme. Basically to further my experience and be assessed as to whether I could actually ride a bike OK, and more to the point...safely. Absolutely loved it. Had some reading and training to complete between the sessions, kindly given to me by the hawk eyed Leanna, a firm but fair task master. Fortunately she is very knowledgeable, and great fun and a good mate to head out on a ride with. The ream of paper she absorbed writing up the first session, and supply of video content with the voice over of the observations proved very useful information. So after several hours of sessions, plus the same if not more of practice between I am pleased to say that I have passed, but more so that I feel more confident, and more aware of potential situations, whilst feeling that I can ride OK and am safe. Would I recommend, very much so. Sort out those potential bad habits, or take refresher training and assessment if you've been off the bike for a while.

Yesterday my wife and I celebrated my 81st birthday with a meal at the delightfully colourful and interesting Gurkha Kitchen. We were warmly greeted and received excellent service. I love a change and much enjoyed my Kathmandu Chicken and Gurkha special rice dish washed down...

Amazing people work here who exactly what they're talking about or will find the answer for you. I have previously been to another motorcycle school but found Roadcraft to be so much better. I attended for DAS and even came back to complete my ERS with Leanna. She was very calm but to the point giving excellent clear instructions whenever needed. Any time anybody wants to get into motorcycling I always recommend them even if they live closer to other places.

Hello, I passed my CBT a few weeks ago, bought a 125, then passed Mod 1 and Mod 2 over the last three days. Managed without any faults and I have to credit Russ and his you tube videos to a large degree for this (went through a local training school). I was new to riding so was amazed to progress so fast. So grateful for his advice. Thank you!

Just finished my training with Roadcraft and it was a great experience! from taster session to full DAS. Russ, Leanna and the team really know their stuff, and I couldn’t have passed without them. Such a friendly bunch that can have a laugh along the way but when its time to be serious then that's what it is, constantly learning and genuinely just a great time all round 100% recommend Roadcraft if you’re thinking of going for your bike license. Recently passed my full bike license with Roadcraft. Have been watching Russ on YouTube and after seeing they offer proper training and flexible lessons and pricing I was sold. Teaching and support from them has been brilliant. Most of my lessons were with Leanna and the odd lesson with John and Russ, they have all been ace. For anyone looking to pass as well as learn to ride confidently, safely and consistently then definitely go with Roadcraft. My experience with Roadcraft was fantastic. From the first call where I was advised to take a 1 hour taster session (as I had never been on a motorbike before) up to yesterday when I passed my MOD2 test. The whole team were fantastic. I did my 1 hour taster session with Richard who was very thorough and informative. Then I went on to do my CBT with John and Bill, who were also brilliant. Throughout my DAS training I had lessons with John and Russ, but mainly Leanna. Leanna is a fantastic instructor, she will give praise when it's due, but will also tell you if you're being a nob, haha. The team were very accommodating when it came to flexibility as I had decided to get my bike license during a busy personal period and an unpredictable work pattern. So thank you to all the team at Roadcraft. I shall definitely be returning for further training in the future.

The Gurkha Kitchen was excellent before lockdown and I am pleased to report that this is still the case. Fantastic for Vegetarians and meat eaters alike. We travel a fair distance to the Gurkha and are never let down.

Did my Mod1 and Mod2 with Roadcraft and really enjoyed the experience. Friendly trainers who are great fun to be around and clearly love bikes, but also very professional and each in their own way put in loads of effort to help me to improve my riding. Good luck for the future guys - I'm going to keep following the YouTube's 👍 Update 24/09/2021. Went back to Roadcraft to do the Enhanced Rider training. A couple of enjoyable long ride outs with Russ which have boosted my confidence and were a great way to get feedback from an experienced rider in an environment outside of regular MOD2 areas. First used Roadcraft Nottingham in 2007 to complete my CBT, when I needed a bike to commute to work locally. I had a great experience so it was the first place I contacted when I decided to complete my bike test this year. I went down to the unit and spoke with Russ about doing my CBT through to bike licence and received the same friendly welcome I received 14 years ago. I booked in for my CBT and first few lessons and started learning, the instructors from CBT through to MOD 2 have been excellent and I would happily recommended Roadcraft to anyone looking to learn at any level. I'm now in the process of booking advanced lessons with Roadcraft to continue my biking journey.

I cannot be more thankful for the excellent team at Roadcraft School!!! They lead me perfectly to get all the required skills to be a confident rider and to pass my Cat A tests! They also don't keep you hanging on, they get you up to module 1 standard very quickly and the same for module 2, excellent excellent excellent. Such a fantastic people there. Passed my CBT and at the moment continue lessons for big bike exam. Amazing knowledge from all of them and thorough, thorough coaching. Is amazing what they can see following you at the back and how much feedback you getting through 2 hours session. I am full of hope for passing in flying colours with these experts 🙂

Could not fault from start to finish. Have managed to book plenty of lessons as required. Very friendly and great advice. Did a basic lesson with Russ, CBT with John, MOD 1 with Leanne and booked to have MOD 2 with Russ too. Have had many lessons with John and Leanne. These instructors are worth their weight in gold and would definitely reccomend training with these instructors. 100%would do it again.

Roadcraft taught my step dad years ago and have now taught me. Leanna did the majority of my training, I passed my module 1 then my module 2 with no minors thanks to her which speaks for itself. All the people here are ace, they really care and will go the extra mile for you, no pun intended!

This was our first visit this year due to the pandemic and unfortunately the experience was not good at all. - The host/server didn’t look happy. There was no welcome of any sort. - I understand if people are not happy with the virus, but...

Completed a couple of taster sessions then took my CBT and I’ve got to say I absolutely loved it! Roadcraft came as a recommendation from a friends son and I’m so glad I took their advise. From the first call speaking to Leanna who advised me to drop by (I’m petite so needed to know I can touch the floor), chatting with Russ, to actually getting out on the bike with Rich the whole experience was great! Everyone is so welcoming, laid back and enjoys a laugh, I’ll definitely be back to take on the full licence now you’ve given me the biking bug!!

Absolutely brilliant bike school. All the staff are there to help you excell and learn to ride in the safest possible way. I would recommend this school along with there staff to anyone wishing to learn to ride a bike from start to finish.

John - Thanks for that extra hill start training on the morning of my test! but mostly thank you so much for the support on my mod 2 test day especially at the end! and Russ - Thank you for running such a fab training school and with all your help especially the videos, if anybody is learning, watch Russ's videos on you tube! I cannot reccomend these guys highly enough! From a standing start i did all my training from CBT through to Mod2 (Full license) with Roadcraft and not only are they incredible trainers but i had the time of my life doing it. Leanna is incredible as an instructor. I passed my mod 2 last week and the test guy said he could tell I'd worked with Leanna as she's such a great instructor. They have really looked after me and even helped me to buy my first big bike. Don't consider anywhere else

From the minute I walked into the shop I knew I was in safe hands, everything was explained to me in so much detail. All the instructors are really friendly and a pleasure to ride with, this made the whole experience exhilarating after not riding a motorbike for over 30 years. Roadcraft was recommended to me, and now I’m recommending Roadcraft to all you people out there.

Brilliant training mostly with Leanna and some from Russ, leading to mod 1 pass today now onto the mod 2 shortly!! Hadn’t rode for just over 20 years so was a bit apprehensive about taking it up again but from those first rusty few minutes on the cbt I was made to feel at ease. Would recommend going for the guaranteed training if you can afford it all upfront as takes the pressure off not having to think you need to pass in so many lessons due to cost. Training is done at your own pace with no pressure but they will certainly move you on if they feel you are ready with smooth progression from the 125’s onto the bigger bikes. Always friendly and welcoming in the shop too!!

DO NOT GO WITH THESE PEOPLE! Worst experience i had, booking my first lesson, they do not state specific info on messages and then scam you and don't refund you when itis clearly there mistake in the first place, Very rude and discusting attitude to customers, AVOID! Plenty more nicer and happier instructors out there and only around the corner from these guys.

The best training place by far been going here from when I was 16 years old now 27 just passed my full license this week after waiting so long to get it done my own fault russ and the team are very welcoming I can’t thank them enough looking forward to doing some extra training with Russ in the coming months Highly recommend for any training needs.

Had one hour introductory lesson with Richard. I learned a lot more during the one hour than I did for three hours with another riding school. Richard was approachable, professional, knowledgeable and articulate. I enjoyed the lesson a lot and feel more confident on the CBT and further DAS training. Highly recommend this company for anything to do with bike training. From CBT to advanced riding. Had my CBT and DAS training with Leanna (80%) and John (20%). Excellent service all round. Great friendly and approachable staff. As value for money goes if you’re willing to learn they fire information at you constantly. Not to just pass your tests but to keep you as safe as possible on the road. With their help and instruction I managed to pass both MOD1 and MOD2 with zero faults. Massive thanks to Leanna, Jon, Russ, Richard and Bill on CBT for a very positive direct access experience. Crucially not just trained to tick examiner boxes but to be a truly safe rider. Always extensive feedback on lessons and the direct access option one great value. Roadcraft have your interests in mind (for example Russ calling me up to get me on a much earlier mod 1 than originally booked!) and never felt rushed/always had time for me even with Covid-19 putting me on the books for ages which is what you want to be safe. Finally a great fleet of modern comfy MT-07s with ABS and heated grips a bonus (alongside modern 125s). Cannot recommend enough, cheers!

Thankfully the Gurkha kitchen is still operating during lockdown and they are still providing excellent, substantial meals. The collection feels very safe and the staff obviously want to make you feel safe and want to return. Well done Andeep and family.

Russ, Rich and John are all extremely patient, encouraging, and beginner friendly instructors, who have taken me and my partner from complete novices to booking our CBT in just a couple of hours of their intro sessions. They provide all the kit and the bikes if you don't have them, and build up your confidence at your pace, and take you through all the elements you'll need to get through your CBT in a safe off-road setting. If you're at all interested in getting on 2 wheels, give them a ring! Looking forward to doing my CBT and full test with these guys. Update: Myself and the mrs have since passed full cat A licence with Leanna and John, can't fault Roadcraft!

Great experience learning with Roadcraft, which despite the disruption of Covid, enabled me to pass both elements of my full bike test at the first attempt and come out of that process with some confidence about my ability to ride. Excellent instructors across the whole team, wouldn't hesitate to recommend.

What can I say about roadcraft? I started my D.A.S training in August and 2 months later I have a full UK bike licence and the only reason it took 2 months is he availability of tests at D.V.S.A because road craft are that good at what they do, i am convinced they would of got me through it in 2 weeks if the tests were available lol. A big thank you goes out to Russ for shaming me into booking my D.A.S when all i was going to book was my CBT for about the 5th time lol, (so glad you talked me round) and also a big thank you to John for taking me to my tests and everyone at roadcraft. But I have to finish with a massive thank you to Leanna who taught me all through my lessons and parted with enough of her expert riding knowledge to give me a full bike licence. She is a brilliant instructor who has a knack for explaining things in such a way that even a air head like me can understand, and above all she can ride the arse off a bike (safely lol) THANKYOU TO EVERYONE AT ROADCRAFT. and to anyone reading this, if you want your full bike licence with minimum fuss, then pick up the phone and phone russ. lol

I just recently passed my motorcycle test (A unrestricted) The service and training I received from Roadcraft, Russ and his team were very professional throughout the whole procedure from CBT training to help with my theory test, mod 1 training and finally mod 2 training, was without a doubt a very happy and pleasurable experience. Decided at the start of the year that I would get my motorcycle licence. Had recommendations for roadcraft so checked out their YouTube vids and was sold straight away. Russ came across very calm controlled and very knowledgeable. Having zero experience I started with the one hour taster lesson instructed by Rich. Lesson was very laid back and great fun, I was hooked. Back at the shop I opted for option 1 direct access and booked my cbt. Had the pleasure of the YouTube sensation himself Mr Russ Stevenson for the cbt and he was exactly as he comes across in his vids, calm controlled and really knew his stuff. With the Cbt ticked off I was moved up to 700cc for my lessons which would now be taken with Leanna. Initially I was disappointed that Russ wouldn't be instructing me personally but that disappoint was very quickly squashed! Leanna is an exceptional rider but not only that a fantastic instructor. Its one thing to be a good rider yourself but the ability to pass on your skills is something else and she does it with ease. She taught me not only how to pass my test but skills on how to ride and protect myself that I'll use for the rest of my days. Honestly cant praise Leanna and the roadcraft team enough and would not hesitate to recommend them to anyone.

The visit ended up with positive and Brilliant atmosphere, helpful staff and obviously delicious food service . Head yourself for a Starters to desserts and chilled Nepalese beer with a humble Nepalese chef to get your taste buds rejuvenate. Best wishes Dr K Gurung

Great team here, walked in about 3 months ago and asked how I could get my A2 license (as I’m under 24). I have really learnt many lessons from the team, and I’m sure they’ll tell you it’s not just about passing your test they train you for life. They are very patient with how they teach and highly experienced, I Recommend this place to anyone and everyone !

Visiting family in Nottingham this is our second visit to this restaurant. Nepalese food very good would highly recommend.

Well, what to say....My first point of contact was with Russ (The owner) having absolutely zero experience, he assured me I’d be fine & looked after, what a relief! I had two taster sessions, first one with Richard, he explained about the bike, what it did, how it did it & what I should be doing, he instantly put me at ease, he had me riding the bike fairly quickly so I could get a feeling for it. I loved it! Thanks Rich. Next session was with John (what a character) he got me on the bike to see what I could do & gave me some invaluable advice, he got me doing all sorts of menouvers , I felt very comfortable under his supervision. Their emphasis on safety is second to none! I booked a one to one cbt with John as my instructor. I don’t think I’ve laughed & learned so much in one day! I even learned some maintenance stuff! I was quite nervous about getting on the road, John felt that from me without me mentioning it & made sure I knew he was protecting me from impatient drivers! I soon relaxed & thoroughly enjoyed the experience 😊 I passed 😅 I’m eager to do my Mod 1 next. (I’ve got the bug) I cannot recommend these guys enough! Awesome team, Awesome training & all done with a dash of fun in the mix. My only complaint... Why didn’t I do this sooner! Thanks Guys 😊
