A very good experience Food exceptional, service also exceptional, could find nothing wrong with anything.

Just visited for the first time as I travel the country. I visited at 5.30 on a Friday evening so understandably quiet. I had onion bhaji starter and l had lamb Handi main with cheese and chilli naan. Could not fault the quality of food or the service. I will be returning next time I stay locally.

Myself and my partner went last night and took my son but we had only booked a table for 2. They were so accommodating to this change of plan, couldn't of had a better experience. Lovely hard working staff especially on a busy valentine's evening. We often order takeaway out and everytime it's been great quality food. Very happy with our first time dining in experience Thank you

Had the occasional takeaway from here in the past, so decided to visit. The food and service was first class, would highly recommend here for a nice meal out.

Not the restaurant but the flat they rent out. Cancelled it whilst we were standing outside the door to the property as they'd let the previous people stay. Then tried to get me to cancel which I then would have lost my deposit. Disgusting behavior. Renting out flats to groups of lads when it's only designed for 3.

Came to this restaurant on a Sunday evening. Arrived about 6.15pm when we were the only people in. Friendly welcome and good service re drinks and food order. Cobra beer on draught. I had my usual chicken madras and the wife had a chicken rogan josh. My madras wasn't the best I've ever had and my wife said that her rogan josh was hotter than expected. Good service and nice surroundings but the food was a bit different to what we are used to. However the wife's chicken tikka starter was excellent.

Food was nice when it arrived. We have starter/ mains, starter came out in good time then after 20mins we was handed the bill as they forgot to send our mains out.... they had a massive group of lads up at the top who kept shouting all night and ruined the atmosphere. We won't be going back again which is unfortunate as we was regulars plus got take outs.

Excellent meal had here on Monday 18th September. Good menu choice. Food very tasty and fresh. Excellent service by our waiter who was very polite and friendly. Would definitely visit again if we are back in Nottingham.

Six of us had a meal on Saturday night and the food and service was outstanding, we come here often to sit in and have takeaway but this was by far the best ever, we are not surprised it was as busy as it was with food of this standard.

This is the fourth or fifth time dining here, food always nice however the staff rush you. One lady waitress clearing glasses before you’ve finished, I was chewing my last bite of poppadom when she whipped my plate. Got asked if we were ready to order on a table of 8 when only four people had arrived, I mean omg!!!!!! Please just let your customers relax and enjoy their meal. Has put me off returning. Eight of us were in and out within an hour for a birthday celebration…… totally ruined our night !! Over attentive is actually just as bad as under attentive.

Popped in for an early dinner. Excellent very attentive staff. Great food, Nice surroundings. Don't park in Iceland car park (we did)......likely £60 bill from ExcelParking

Really great food delivered promptly. Extensive menu with new and traditional dishes. Butter Chicken is good if you want something not too spicy. Gurkha chicken is great with a spicy hit. Definitely recommended.

Staff were lovely, however after eating here on Saturday evening, my partner and I received food poisoning.

We have been a regular customer at Gurkha since it opened, both takeaway and restaurant over the years. However, following an issue on Friday we shall not be returning. I found a piece of smooth and straight wooden material in my food (approx 1.5cm in length) which was rock hard. It could have been a piece of wooden skewer (as I had a chicken dish) or most likely I assume a hard stem of some type of herb, it definitely splintered like wood when I snapped it to try and see what it was, and I THINK it was within an onion bhaji and not the curry. It was quite painful chomping down on it for sure! I called to speak to the manager to report this and flag it with them so that it could be investigated and could not happen to someone else and maybe cause a broken tooth or choking incident, but he was not available. I therefore tried speaking with the lady who answered the phone but she could not understand English well and simply passed the phone to a young lady who also seemed unsure of what to do and asked me to take a photo and would get the manager to call me back. I never heard. Finding the object in the food is one thing but for no one to give a care in the world about the matter (or their customers in general) is appalling. It's such a shame as the food here is lovely (minus wooden pieces!) but I won't be back now after this display of dreadful customer care, as I won't support a business who does not care about their customers, really disappointed. PS. Just noticed a 5 star google review from me 4 years ago for Gurkha Express which shows how long we have been a customer.

Take away at 7 . 15 on a Friday evening was cold . The chilli garlic chicken was poor - chicken over okjed and in large pieces . Poor . Won’t e using them again . Nan bread stone cold .

The best curry dishes we have ever eaten! Absolutely delicious, outstanding flavours, huge selection of standard curry dishes and Ghurka specials, all of which are amazing. All of the meats are cooked to perfection and just so succulent. The sauce's are all seasoned in a manner that will leave you wondering what the curry's were you tasted before. Personally we would not go anywhere else now as everything they do is faultless, from delivery (always early), to the Ghurka chips, which are also superb covered, as they are in herbs and spices, just fantastic. Don't believe me? Give them a try, you definitely will not be disappointed. Ghurka Express you are the best, thank you L&R.

I have been here 3 years, and haven’t had a take away since I had a Chinese meal when I arrived. My wife and I decided to have a meal delivered from the Gurkha Express in Eastwood and I was pleased I did. The food was well presented and very tasty. One of the meals had leaked in the bag, but that did not detract from the meal. The only negative thing I would say, is that there was too much sauce for the meat content. I will use them again as the whole meal was delicious. Worth the money.

Not from the area, just here for the night and stumbled across this restaurant. Genuinely probably the tastiest most delicious indian food I've ever tasted!! (and I love a curry!). Chicken Tawa just perfect, not an ounce of grease or oil. Just wish you delivered to Northampton!

Amazing food for the price. Not massive portions but the taste is worth it. Alcohol a bit expensive but would rather that than the food. Recommend the Gurkha chips as something different. Bill is a great waiter as well.

We order a curry about once a month so we don't mind spending a bit. We've tried the highest rated in the area and nothing comes close to the flavour, presentation and value from the this restaurant. The attention to detail is awesome...well done guys.

First time I’ve had a takeaway from Gurkha Express-Eastwood. The lamb Gurkha was delicious and the lamb was the best I’ve tasted in a curry. Driver was friendly and courteous. Can’t wait to try the restaurant.

Had a take away for Father’s Day from Eastwood Gurkha and it was amazing. Lovely succulent tandoori lamb chop starter and onion Bhaji followed by four delicious mains which were all superb and so tasty, delivered on time in a purpose made box which kept it lovely and hot. Highly recommend ***** we will definitely be ordering again

One of the most pleasing and good quality Indian meals I have enjoyed in years. A busy night on NYE but the staff couldn't have been more pleasant and helpful. I enjoyed every single item we ordered. My new local and so happy to live fairly close by! Really excited when things are back to 'normal' and we can eat in as have a feeling it will be an awesome night out.

We have just had a suberb meal at The Gurkha Express.We all ordered different mains and they were all delicious.The waiter was professional,friendly and helpful.It was our 14 year old Grandsons first visit to an Indian Restaurant,and he loved it.We will definately be returning

The excellent score was for the food, the meal was beautiful. We’ve had a take away from here previously and were impressed so took advantage of the eat out to help out scheme. Not sure what the covid guidelines are for restaurants but I’m not sure just hand sanitiser at the door is not it. It was very busy in there. No masks on staff or distancing from other diners. Staff were friendly but don’t be in a hurry if you go. Took 2.5 hrs from beginning to end but we were happy to sit and chat - just a little hungry ;)

Went during covid..... Given takeaway menus to order from and was told this was so they could be disposed of after...... I was certainly not the first person to order from the menu or the 10th person either! Really poor service by the lady server (the guy was great) you could see kids actually working in the kitchen..... Whether you order a regular or a large it will come in the same size bowl. Once we tried to pay we was told the takeaway prices are for takeaway not us even tho this hadn't been pointed out. They did eventually amend the prices to what we had been shown but it was certainly shown that she wasn't happy. The food however was nice and I did enjoy it althou it was certainly on the expensive side. I can't see me ever returning as the service is certainly much better at other local places

We ordered from here for the first time yesterday for a friend's 'lockdown in the garden 50th birthday celebrations'. We expected good things after being recommended this place & hoped for the best as this was not the way we had originally expected to be celebrating our friends special day, & wow, we were not disappointed. Every mouthful was a delight, from the starters to the rice & breads, to the mains. Each curry was unique & delicious. We would even go so far as to say this was the best takeaway curry we've ever eaten. And believe me, we love & know a good curry!! It was the perfect spread for our socially distanced lockdown spread Well done Gurkha Express, Eastwood. We're already looking forward to the next one .

Ordered rogan josh but sent bhuna when called them to let them know about mistake tried to tell me that both dishes are identical which they obviously are not. Refused to listen to what I was saying wont be ordering from them again terrible service took hour and half to arrive

Five of us visited for the first time on a Friday night. It wasn't busy. I can only assume this place stays in business with take away orders. We got a choice of one of two tables, but it didn't really matter as all the tables are set out in a long row. The layout and lack of soft furnishings and high ceiling gave the restaurant no atmosphere whatsoever. The staff were efficient at serving our food but didn't engage in any conversation. However, the food was hot and tasty with a good selection of wine at average prices. Strange name for a restaurant though. With 'express' in the name it sounds like a take away! Good for a group of diners making their own noise, but not ideal for a romantic dinner for two.

Been here a few times and the service and food are always great, had takeaway from here a few times as well, nice variety of dishes which differ from your normal curry house, also the restaurant is always clean and nicely decorated, very clean and modern

Superb Indian takeaway, although they have a restaurant on site, we love to buy it as takeaway via JustEat. Even though we don't live in the catchment area anymore, we regularly make the trip down to collect it ourselves as we love it so much!

Ordered a Take Away from this restaurant using Just Eat. Prices seems fair and we weren’t in a massive hurry so order for delivery to be an hour and a half later at 6.30. Delivery came at 7pm after a phone call to find they had t even sent it out at 6.45pm. Fair sized portions. But they should take the Squid off the menu. It was frozen battered calamari from a bag with some extra spices. Over cooked and cold when it got to us. Rest of the meal was average.

Me and my friends visited the restaurant last night and we were delightfully welcomed by the staff. The food was divine and the way it was laid out was perfection. We will be visiting again soon.

Excellent service, the food was outstanding and I would definitely reccomend this place and will certainly be back for another meal again when in the area.

Entered restaurant and promptly show a small table that was sandwiched between other diners. The space was 50% full and not showing reservations. I asked if we could sit in a quieter part of the restaurant was we were refused.Left immediately with the owners eventually shouting that we could sit where we like...too late. Had a lovely Thai meal up the road instead.

We regularly visit and order from Gurkha Express. We returned from our holiday and ordered later than usual. The food arrived and there were multiple problems: the poppadoms were crushed into 100 pieces, the fish was incredibly greasy, the curries (tawa) tasted like they’d been mixed with tomato puree - inedible. Called on the night, there was no answer. Called the following evening the man said he was busy and would call me back - he never did. Called the following day and was offered 30% off a delivery. Which would be a measly 10% extra. I said I wasn’t happy with this so he said he’d give me some sundries. I said what about a free curry seeing as the other had to be thrown away. After a lot of deliberation he agreed and made a note of my name etc. Rang up today and the guy said he can’t do this and can only offer me 30% off! Unbelievable, so basically called me a liar. So as a result we won’t be returning. Disgusting service.

What a gem. Fantastic food with several very interesting new dishes on the menu. Carrot pickle was awesome. Presentation and flavours amazing. Staff very attentive and efficient with smiles all around. Will definitely be back soon.

Great food but I can’t help but feel it’s on the top end of what you’d want to pay. Would definitely go again but for an occasion rather than as a local curry spot. The food was excellent however, the garlic naan was really very good and the chicken madras sauce was very very good.
