Gullen's in Brighton and Hove

This bar has a lot of character and so have the locals that visit it. The staff are very friendly and welcoming. Its a home from home. Great choice of food which is all freshly prepared by the owner. Very dog friendly.

We popped in there about 10 days back. We found it dead as a squashed door mouse. The chap who was serving behind the bar with a shaven head held no conversation at all. I do not know who owns it, but it needs a really good shake-up. It could be a good business if the right person bought it. At the moment it is a no go for this couple.

Not the greatest choice of wines or beers but friendly enough. More like going into someone's front room than a pub. For that reason it is a bit different.

Friendly staff. Good food that is well priced. We feel very welcome here. Much better than any other of the eateries in saltdean. Older people are reaĺly cared for. It is a real.community hub.

Esta fue una alegría encontrar en Longridge Avenue, en un ajetreado día de calor, el sábado pasado. El personal era increíblemente amable, y el propietario en realidad sabía cómo hacer un cóctel Black Russian el camino apropiado. No coca cola! Preciosa fuera de asientos en la parte delantera y la parte trasera. Me sentí muy cómodo allí, y sin duda volveremos. Ambiente muy relajado!

Bar local agradable que ha estado en Saltdean desde que puedo recordar, agradable en el buen tiempo, como estar con una bebida, y viendo el mundo pasar es bastante agradable. Cafés, tés, y aperitivos ligeros. Una manera agradable de pasar una hora o dos.

This bar has been in Saltdean for years- if you are looking for a friendly local bar it is great - nice little courtyard garden which has recently been redone. Well worth a visit as the place gets some real characters- shame no food !

Great Bar offering good choice of drinks both draft and bottled.Reasonable prices and nice atmosphere. Offers under cover rear terrace for Smokers. Highly recommended for a quiet relaxing drink.

Gullens ha estado yendo por muchos años. El dueño y el personal es amable y acogedor. Se admiten perros, siempre que están bajo control. No hay muchos niños que prefiero! Tiene el ambiente de un club, todo el mundo se conoce. También un buen lugar para gente anciana para conseguir una buena comida saludable a un precio asequible.

Very weird establishment I have lived in Saltdean 21 years and never seen more than 2 people in at a time owner can often be seen in the local co op purchasing their old late used by meats etc for this special bistro . I'mSurprised it's still in business John Greg Saltdean

Lo que un pintoresco lugar es encantadora nos metimos en encontrar un grupo de gente muy amable que me hizo sentir muy bien acogidos.El dueño y el personal era muy agradable y nos aconsejaron de las ofertas especiales en el menú. comida promedio, y un miserable propietario. Este bar/restaurante ha estado aquí por muchos años y te puedo decir que cuando entras en el lugar, ya que es como retroceder en el tiempo. Se puede hacer con una total renovación, pero no creo que el dueño se preocupa más. Él tiene los pocos clientes habituales de él y eso es todo lo que necesita, ya que posee el Freehold y hizo su dinero en los primeros días.

As you walk past the local shops in Saltdean you come across Gullens!! a few tables outside with people drinking beer, this small bar advertises Tea and a biscuit on the window! supported by locals where everyone seems to know each other. Not a great choice of beers.

Fully licensed pub/restaurant with friendly service and a really wide range of food, from sandwiches to steaks, via pasta and curry!Very popular with locals, we'll worth a visit.

Friendly staff, good wholesome food. People from Saltdean should visit this place. A little old fashioned, but quaint, it gives the other two big pubs a run for their money. If you want to support local business rather than the multi nationals visit Mike at Gullens.
