Ground Espresso Bar Ballymoney in Ballymoney

Staff always lovely. Food mediocre. Coffee good I got vouchers for my birthday with £40. A payment method but Ground business do not give loyalty point when using the card which is disgraceful. The headoffice of the company never answers any emails. The cakes are sort of designed for the children's palate rather than a sophisticated palate. It takes hours before being served if there are a few people in front of you.

As usual the coffee was excellent and the caramel square acceptable. Not exactly the same experience as Waterstones’ Ground Bar in Belfast but that would be a high bar.

Since moving to Ballymoney in 2019, Ground quickly became our favourite place to get a take-away coffee. The coffee is very good, but sadly there is no coconut milk. Most good coffee places provide coconut milk too. I have written to the company several times about various things but they never answer any emails which lets the company down badly. For vegan people there is very little on offer to eat. Here I must say that the cakes they do sell, are a little like little kid's cakes/sweets, really boring combinations of putting even more sweet things in a cake or bar. Get some more sophistication in there! The staff are absolutely wonderful, always friendly and professional.

As the title says - Good coffee and buns. I havent tried their other food offerings, but general tray bakes and coffee all very good.

We call in here regularly when visiting my husbands parents. The coffee is always great & much appreciated by an addict like me! The staff are very friendly and helpful and there is a variety of seating and tables to suit everyone's needs downstairs and upstairs. The free wifi is also appreciated and there are several sockets around to plug in your device if needed. I don't usually eat anything but there is a good selection on the counter. We will be back on our next visit to Ballymoney

Had a lovely cup of takeaway tea and some of their very nice tray bakes during lockdown hence a takeaway. Very nice staff and location inside was clean and staff Covid aware.

Nice airy coffee bar. Sandwiches buns andpens early too. Lovely to sit and relax, and have a chat in soft seating. We'll spaced out.

We visit with friends once a month and a few times as a couple. The coffee is always good served by friendly staff. But as with most all coffee shops the cakes buns etc are way overpriced

Enjoyed coffee here while spending the weekend in nearby Balnamore. Nutella cake delicious!! Friendly efficient staff.

Stopped here for a coffee to meet a friend. Nice environment, helpful staff , good drinks. Scone really disappointing- rhubarb and white chocolate - no rhubarb or whites chocolate obvious more like a plain scone. Hence the 4 score.

Brilliantly central location in Ballymoney, the staff are always incredibly friendly at this branch. Whether you need a bowl of soup on a stormy day or a iced latte to enjoy in the sun Ground Ballymoney is definitely worth stopping by.

Called into Ground recently. Centrally located. Great Coffee. Great selection of buns n bites. My favourite local Coffee shop and local family business.

Lovely friendly staff and a good selection of buns and smoothies along with the coffees. Also does a nice soup at lunchtime

I regularly frequent Ground Ballymoney for lunch & it never disappoints. The coffee is good & they have a wide varity teas. Excellent selection of sandwiches, paninis, scones & traybakes. The vegetarian selection puts other cafes in the area to shame. The staff are helpful & pleasant & nothing is ever too much trouble. Try the salted caramel brownies, they are incredible!

A coffee stop midweek around 11.30 and the place was quiet, a few mums with young children. I like this place for coffee ... the large windows look out around the junction at the clocktower and this allows lots of light into the cafe. The young children have a play area towards the back of the cafe which keeps them amused and separates from other users. A good mix of savoury food and sweet stuff on display. Eat in or takeaway. The gem here are the group of girls that were staffing on Thursday. Each were friendly, chatty and an asset to the cafe, this makes for a good atmosphere. Get a window seat and enjoy an open area cafe different to others in the town.

I’ve been here twice, first time years ago after it first opened and again very recently, it hasn’t improved, the decor has got very shabby - torn seats and the loos never look clean. Sorry, the cofffee isnt that good and to be honest it’s overpriced trying to be a main stream coffee outlet. I’d rather go anywhere but here. As a well travelled individual I’ve been to cafes all over the world and this is at the bottom of my list,

Staff are always friendly and helpful. You can bring young children as they have a wee play area for them so you can sit and chat while they are happy and content playing with the toys.

Visited here and was pleasantly surprised, the coffee was excellent and the chap who served us was friendly and happy. Wasn't hungry so I didn't eat any of teh food though the salad selection and cakes looked excellent. Will definitely be returning to sample the food.

Wonderful staff. Great variety of goods, thoroughly enjoyed a visit to this area. Make sure you see the Dunlop statues as well.

La bandeja de café y pastas son preciosas y siempre es agradable para conseguir un asiento en la ventana :) no me puedo quejar!

Called for a coffee and scones today. Always ask for one shot in the coffee as two shots are a bit too strong though. Nice friendly staff and atmosphere. Recommend if out and about in Ballymoney.

We arrived in late afternoon on a very wet and windy day in Ballymoney. The Ground Espresso cafe was open - even after 6 p.m. - and was a very welcome oasis on such a night with great coffee, snacks and chatty friendly staff.Looking forward to visiting again on our next trip....

Never fails to satisfy on lots of levels. Good selection of teas and coffees and tasty snacks for mid morning breaks or lunches. Staff are just the best.... cheerful, helpful, friendly and effecient.

Fewer sandwich/traybake choices, all pre-made sandwiches and staff cannot make sandwiches to order, quite disappointed. The staff are great, always friendly and welcoming.

Much improved since last visit, staff as friendly as ever, coffee always good and now very clean and tidy, seems to have had a bit of a tidy up, good spot for a quiet coffee, good soundtrack and WiFi

We have been in this Ground several times. Each time delicious coffee was served. Last time we had Cortado - my favourite! Scones are delicious too, especially the raspberry and white chocolate. There has always been plenty of room for us to sit and service has been 5*. Free Wi-fi is also provided.

Fewer sandwich fillings available. Less choice in cake or tray bake. They served a 'heated' sausage roll which was only warm - much more dangerous than cold or properly hot. They were aware of a problem but didn't understand the hygiene importance of checking the sausage was heated. Staff are pleasant.

I travel extensively and when in Northern Ireland I will always seek out my nearest Ground Espresso. Why? Because they serve great coffee, have the loveliest tray bakes and their staff never fail to amaze me. Always friendly, always smiling, always helpful. A great credit to Ground. Keep it up folks.

I think cappuccino is the most difficult coffee to make successfully,most coffee shops make it far too milky and the few who dont make it far too bitter. In this newly renovated smart Ground in new crockery i would love in my own home,i was served a perfect cup,,while my husbands flat white was delicious.my elderly dementia suffering relative enjoyed their fluffy white choc and raspberry muffin too,that is until they were suddenly sick,vomiting -to their ownand my dstress,and this is where the care and kindness of our exeptional young waitress Christine came into play. She could not have been more caring and helpful. I did not want to return again because of distress and embarrassment but when my husband persuaded me to return on our own,she asked after my sick relative and said she hoped we werent without her "because of what happened last time".this cafe also has a notice "dementia friendly"on its door ,a notice we are seeing more and more often- this cafe had its claim put to the test,and because of our lovely barista .christine,passed with flying colours. Thank you so much!

Stopped here for the first time with two friends for lunch. Lovely interior and staff were very friendly. I had Mexican chipotle chicken on sourdough bread which was absolutely delicious! Would definitely go back here! Thoroughly enjoyed my lunch.

We chanced upon Ground Coffee Bar looking for a quick bite to eat before our GOT tour. It had a bright, clean and inviting atmosphere with cheery yellow chairs, wooden table and comfy couches. Decadent treats were piled high on the counter top, and the case filled with savoury options and sandwiches. We chose the croque monsieur, a delicious cheesy delight. The coffee was robust and full, and the large latte was certainly that... large! All in all, we were extremely pleased to watch the city come alive with the sun streaming through the windows , fully satisfied.

The ambience in Ground in Ballymoney is good, especially in the front area which, as the former Wilson McMichael menswear in its former incarnation, is more suited to a cafe due to its brightness. The coffee was well made and served by a rather lovely petite barista with her hair piled up on top of her head. She was very welcoming and helpful as well as genuine. Typical of Ballymoney and its friendliness. The only downside was the replacement chairs which are appearing in other branches of Ground. They are far harder and much more uncomfortable. I couldn't wait to leave as I really don't find them comfortable at all. They are probably designed to deter the punters from spending too long there but they would deter me from visiting at all. I haven't been back to the Ground in Derry in many months due to its rock hard armchairs, a contradiction in terms. There is more comfort on Derry M&S cafe stools, the coffee is every bit a good if not better and they stock a range of gluten free products instead of the one or at most two at Ground. They even stock scones and crackers for coeliacs. Ground offers nothing like this and often seem to have run out of what they have.

Went there with my friends and yet again we were not disappointed. The staff were friendly and accommodating and took our orders promptly. The coffees were made fresh to order.The hardest thing was choosing what cakes to have. The lemon drizzle was superb and a very generous sized portion. The caramel square was equally delicious and it was so large we had to share. The coffee shop was clean and we were able to sit for a good catch up without being disturbedWe always seem to gravitate to Ground and with such good facilities, it won't be our last

Good range of coffees and teas, pastries and sausage rolls especially. Creative sandwiches etc. Wifi and computers available. Friendly staff. Busy between 5 and half past!

Had a late lunch and found the food and service great. Good atmosphere with staff who were super, friendly and welcoming.The minestrone, with Italian origins, is amazing and to die for!Next time in town will definitely be back.

Been in a few times. Most recent visit this week with a friend for a coffee. Staff very friendly, offered to carry our tray to the table as we had a buggy each. Coffee great. I recommend their chocolate brownies!

Ordered a soy latte which is lovely! great coffee for vegans! Could do with a few vegan cakes or biscuits but the coffee is lovely.

A great place for coffee, well presented and the salted caramel chocolate brownies are delicious; light and not too rich.

Ok, gud choice of snacks, paninis, bagels etc & their muffins are great oh and their caramel squares are the best! !However it always gives the impression of needing a good clean! ! At busy times tables need dirty dishes cleared away & table wipedAll in all, ok but not my first choice! !

Went in for a quick cup of coffee which took some time to order as only one of the staff seemed to be doing anything. Sat down at table by the window only to find that it had not been cleaned after the last customer and indeed the dishes were still there. There was also something stuck to one of the seats and the floor had obviously not been brushed all day. We were served by a waiter who was dressed all in black but who was wearing trousers which were far too long for him and they were in holes and very dirty-looking around the hems. Despite being made aware that the table was dirty he said "Sorry about that" but the whole time we were there, he did not return to do anything about it. As I said, won't be back.

One of the nicest places I have been for coffee. Been twice in one day. Second time had a muffin which they warmed up and added cream. Staff great. Atmosphere great.

This was my first time in Ground Espresso Bar in Ballymoney and the food was excellent. For those who love Suki teas - this has a broad range of teas and I was suitably impressed. The food was excellent - my friend has the panini of the month and it was very fresh and tasty. I had a club chicken wrap and aside from it being very generous, again it was fresh and wholesome.The cakes and traybakes are generous and the rice crispy bun had to be shared it was so large - along with the rocky road one....Staff were very helpful and friendly - tables are large and fairly well spaced out, so room for a sensible conversation and space to relax. I highly recommend it.
