Groovy Moo Ice Cream in Ryedale

They have a lot of different flavours and I guarantee you they have the best ice cream ever. Also, they do festive flavours at Christmas and Easter.

Fantastic choice of flavours and great quality. Definitely recommend a visit. We will be back when we visit the area again.

Visited with kids and nephews after looking at reviews on trip advisor. Great ice cream and good selection of dairy free too. A little hard to find if you use Google maps as it took us to back of the food court.

Been a few times last year, to this one and the one that used to be in Howden, and thought I'd visit again with the weather being on the up. Great gelato as always, but hugely disappointed that the sizes have decreased. Used to be able to get a large for under £5 and it would be 5 scoops. Now a large is £5.20 and 3 scoops. Its the same size as the old medium for a higher price!

Proper gelato being super smooth and quick to melt. The range of flavours always causes a headache trying to decide. Keep it up.

An excellent choice of flavours and some quite unusual, which makes a nice change from the standard offering. Very friendly staff too!

Visited with family 3rd April had a lime tub, flavour was lovely, but the amount was tiny for the price paid, staff all very young so maybe not sure of portions .

A gem of a place. We seek out an ice cream parlour where ever we go and think this is perhaps the best we’ve ever tried. Great staff and the lady that served us did me an original pudding of my own design - waffle with lemon meringue gelato and white chocolate. Absolutely Devine. We shall certainly be back. Two scoops were more than enough for my husband and I!! Huge amount of flavours to choose from, our four were delicious although VERY disappointing that they were served with plastic disposable spoons !!! (One star list for this)

Had a terrible visit here, waited in not the biggest queue but the woman serving could be heard from outside the shop. When I was waiting to be served inside, I felt that the customer service wasn’t to the standard that it usually is, the woman didn’t particularly want a conversation with me but with other customers (they maybe were regulars but still not an exception). The ice cream was to perfection, like always, but the customer service in the shop has changed.

This hidden gem is well worth a visit. Outstanding ice cream and helpful and friendly staff. I personally thought that all Yorkshire Towns should have a Groovy Moo. Ice cream and coffee (proper Italian, expresso or cappuccino. I indulged in the cappuccino ice cream. It was delicious. Highly recommend. Five Stars.

Stopped off for ice creams Wow. No wonder we had seen queues here on a previous visit to the Town. 10 flavours chosen (4 of us) Pros Staff are lovely For people covid worried, the seating in the courtyard is wiped down between customers SOOOOOO much choice. To be honest we could easily have had 20 flavours each. We each enjoyed our own choices. My personal fav of the 3 I chose was the chocolate orange. Yum!!! Cons None Would we visit again - oh Yes !!!!

There were about 25 flavours on offer when we went, including rhubarb and custard, Bakewell tart, ginger and lemon - plus all the usuals. Absolutely delicious, and comparable in price to most up market gelateria. It's well worth a visit (and the other foodie neighbours...

I am in the British Forces and based in York. I highly recommend Groovy Moo they not only made my two girls welcome they made our whole visit pleasant and will be returning very soon.

The ice cream was delicious. They had every flavor and I wanted a sample of every one of them. They seemed to have a passion for ice cream and for the town.

Every time we walked by there was a queue - which just goes to show how popular it is. Well worth the queue - the selection is amazing!

Strawberry and cherry icecreams were delicious. The ice-cream parlour was fully booked so book in advance if you want a sundae. Long queue mainly due to time consuming service. Worth the diversion after Eden camp.

The food was delicious - between us we had the nutella cookie dough, a ferrero rocher waffle, and a malty moo milkshake. At two desserts for £10 it was good value particularly as the portions were massive. Therein lies the problem though, as they were...

Fabulous choice of ice creams, spoilt for choice and the tastiest I've ever had. Ice cream parlour is in a lovely courtyard setting, seating is available outside, the perfect place to sit and enjoy your purchase.

Recommended by our Host in Burythorpe. Proved to be as good as advertised. Never before had I found Bakewell Tart Ice Cream but I will certainly be abck for more as soon as possible. Living in France, this may be a bit longer than .......14 days .

Just a short one to say that as someone with a dairy allergy it's tricky to find good ice cream, particularly when it isn't shop-bought. Groovy Moo do several amazing dairy-free ice creams, all made in-store - the summer berry is my absolute favourite and manages to have the texture of the real thing rather than a sorbet, which I was expecting.Amazing ice cream!

Having enjoyed a holiday in Italy recently our family has high expectations where ice cream is concerned and Groovy Moo did not disappoint. Our family of six tried almost every flavour and all were delicious. Social distancing during COVID-19 was well managed and staff were friendly, efficient and welcoming. Delicious ice cream and really nice staff. Could do with a list of flavours displayed outside where the queue is as might help people move along quicker and get people served faster, especially when it is busy

Took some visiting friends here recently, one of whom is a huge ice-cream fan - she was not disappointed! We had mint choc chip, vanilla & cherry/almond cup & a Lotus biscotti, cherry/almond cup - huge scoops - well worth the money and we sat upstairs in the dining area and watched the world go by. A lovely afternoon.

We had a very good experience. Glad we called as they are closing for Christmas and New Years. Everyone in group enjoyed the visit.

Had a good walk around Malton before we deserved a great treat ! DELICIOUS! It’s not far from the centre

When we arrived we went through the door and a member of staff asked us what ice-cream we wanted and we went upstairs. We sat down then a member of staff came up and said you can't sit there as one half was if you had ice-cream and the other half was,if you had waffles or desserts. I didn't see what difference it made as it was empty. Not a great set-up and the member of staff approach and attitude was not good. Won't be going back. back.

Our friends have been raving about this ice cream since they visited last year, so we had to try while on holiday nearby. Not disappointed. Great range of fantastic flavours, superb ice cream.

After hearing rave reviews from my kids about this place I thought I’d try it myself. What a delight, rather busy because it was the Harvest Food Fair but the wait was definitely worth it.What a selection of the nicest ice cream I have ever tasted and a cup of tea to die for.I never realised there would be seating upstairs and considering the queue to be served neither did anyone else as there was only one other table being used.If I could give one suggestion it would be a blackboard giving the choices so that young minds can be made up before they get to the counter.The price certainly reflects to quality of the offering, but with the options available I think they’re worth it.Being a Malton resident, i know that I’ll be back to try another selection and to enjoy the tea.

Locals had told us about Groovy Moo's which is located in the Talbot Yard Food Court opposite The Talbot Hotel. Great selection of flavours. You can choose cones or a tub or if like us you want to sample more ask for the Sundae Menu and you won't be disappointed. Today was too hot to sit outside so we were shown upstairs, nice decor and a little more airy. A waitress came and took our order and the sundaes were wonderful. Bakewell Sundae and the other called something like Ferrerroo. Will definitely be returning>

I've visited here a few times. The staff are always very friendly and there's such a huge selection of flavours available. Each one I've tried is delicious.

Groovy Moo has a great selection of gelato flavours that all look delicious, during our visit we tried jammy dodger and bakewell tart, both of which we would highly recommend! Price wise, it is reasonable but not super cheap, £2.50 for one scoop in a tub but with generous portions for sure so can't complain! The parlour is situated in the very nice Talbot Yard and has a seating area of its own which makes it especially nice on a summer's day! You can also take tubs of the gelato home in insulated containers!

A gloriously hot day saw is in Malton seeking out the Groovy Moo. Such a choice of Artisan ice creams! I could have had a huge taster bowl, I don’t think there was a flavour I wouldn’t have liked! Chatty friendly staff. We chose to eat outside, and the sundaes were brought out. The Jammy dodger one looked and tasted great. I thoroughly enjoyed the triple chocolate sundae. Highly recommended if you want a true experience of something a little different. Malton is now on my must do list each time I visit family up north.

called in here on the way back from york we shared a tub of ice cream with chocolate orange ,strawberry and mint choc chip teh young lady got 3 big scoops of our chosen ice cream and put it into the tub which it filled to overflowing and we sat outside in the sun what a nice way to spend an hour we both declared the ice cream delicious and we will return

Visited with my dear friend this afternoon. Lots of different flavours of ice cream and selection of desserts. Nice seating area upstairs. I explained what I really fancied, fresh fruits with ice cream,which was a variation of their dairy free menu. They went with it and created this beautiful sundae for me. Delighted and definitely will visit again.

Visited for the first time on pancake day tempted by the special promoted on Facebook. Arrived late afternoon when very few customers, staff showed us to table upstairs, then forgot we were there, too busy chatting amongst themselves to be bothered with customers. Waited so long it spoilt my appetite and spoilt what was supposed to be a treat for children.

Groovy Moo has become a regular stop whenever I go to Malton. They make fabulous fresh artisan gelato. The array of flavours varies almost daily, evidence of high turnover and a super fresh product. Great service, good prices, the only problem, what flavour[s] to choose!

I only recently discovered Groovy Moo after my sister told me about it. It was only y second visit today but treated my wife to an ice cream and it was delicious. I had bakewell tart, coffee and rhubarb and custard and my wife had cherry and coffee. Both ice creams we're very nice. Won't be long before our next visit.

Came here when having a fed up day, as a treat. A real hidden gem - so much choice And lovely staff. I had the cinder toffee flavour in a sugar cone. The chocolate and coffee flavours both went down well with my son. A great place, which I know is very popular. Thank you for cheering me uP!

What's not to like, been here so many times. Fantastic artisan geleto ice cream. So many flavours to choose from, and the portion sizes for the price is excellent. The staff are ever so friendly, and let you have a taste if you're unsure which flavour you want.

My first experience of gelato and it was delicious! We tried about 8 different flavours between our group and all were fantastic. Would highly recommend and I hope we visit again some time.

Family run, with the wonderful Michelle at the helm, it’s a joy to visit thanks to the consistently fun, lively, engaging welcome. There’s a small area of upstairs seating & a handful of outdoor tables if you wish to eat in.

I don't really have a sweet tooth. I didn't even want an ice cream after we'd had a heavy lunch elsewhere. But we were with friends who were definitely up for ice cream and I just didn't want to miss out. First thing of note was the place was spotless. Plus a very friendly and engaging team working there. The ice creams all looked so good. I had a single scoop lime which was amazing. Our friends enjoyed their three scoops too. Definitely one of the best ice creams I've tasted in recent years. I even recall saying it was better than most I'd had in Italy too.

The staff are so friendly and the ice cream is addictive, I can't drive by groovy moos without calling in❤️ Everybody needs to try one.

I live in London and always look forward to a trip back home as it always involves Groovy Moo. The selection is amazing - I was upset initially as they didn't have Bakewell Tart but the girls behind the counter overheard me and soon brought some out from the back.

Have been to groovy moo lots of times and it’s fantastic the ice cream flavours are excellent and good quality with a wide range to chose from I had amaretto ahd cherry the last time and enjoyed every mouthful, my brother and wife and kids enjoy it every time that they come from Scotland to.

Fabulous ice cream parlour, wonderful choice of different flavours, you can even buy take home containers of different sizes and fill with their delicious ice cream. What's not to like?

We live locally and cannot get enough of Groovy Moo’s. Since it opened a couple of years ago we have made it our ‘treat’ place every couple of weeks.

Situated in a small courtyard, opposite the Talbot Hotel, this is the place to go for top quality tasty icecream. A good variety of flavours to choose from.

The ice cream here is just the best. My favourite is lime ripple. Would definitely recommend to everyone.

This is the best ice cream ever. They have an excellent selection of different flavours. There is plenty of parking close by or just park in the town centre and it is a short walk. There is seating inside and outside but on a hot day they are taken very quickly.

Our two girls loved it here. There's a huge choice on offer, really reasonably priced, delicious ice cream. We look forward to returning the next time we're in the area!

Nice ice cream. Strange set up to queue and you don’t get chance to fully peruse the different flavours before you have to give your order. You queue mainly outside of the shop and then when you are finally in front of the ice creams you are being asked for your selection and it’s all a bit stressful! Maybe they could pop a board outside to look at while you queue. The servers were all friendly and smiley and we ate ours outside because it was a sunny day but I’m sure I saw a cheeky sign saying £1 charge to eat inside, upstairs. We parked around the back on the Talbot car park which is a bit confusing as to how to get there but we somehow found our way. It wasn’t quite what I was expecting. I was expecting a nice big cafe where we could relax with ice creams but it’s more of a pop in and take away type place. It’s worth popping in though. We drove from Eden Camp and it was only about 10 minutes away. I would go again.

We have visited Groovy Moo three times and each time tried a different flavour gelato or sorbet. The flavours available change regularly, so you can go twice and not see the same flavours on both visits. In the past I have tried marshmallow and Bakewell tart, both very nice, creamy and tasty with relevant toppings (marshmallow on one and pieces of Bakewell tart on the other). On our most recent visit I was again spoilt for choice but opted for rhubarb and custard flavour gelato whilst my Mum had blood orange sorbet, both were in a tub.

What a great addition to the food scene in Malton. They seem to have got the product and service just right. Really dreamy flavourful ice cream and good value prices.will be back soon!

We stopped off at Malton en route to Pickering. We went to buy ice cream from The Groovy Moo. We were greeted with a wonderful selection of different ice cream. It was a difficult decision, but I chose the salted caramel. i could have had a combination, but I wanted one flavour. Added to this was a friendly reception and helpful service. Oh, and really delicious ice cream.

This place has all the components which make it a wonderful business. The owner is very passionate about Groovy Moo and cares about providing the best possible customer experience. She has achieved a winning combination of generous portions and very high quality product, so although you might pay a little bit more you are assured of getting great value for money.

What can I say the ice creams and sorbets were delicious i went for the three scoops tub at £3.20 wild strawberries Devine chocolate maple and walnut and a maple and walnut chocolate cone £2.50 very good portion all served by a very bubbly owner you can get various shakes have an upstairs cafe if you’re in the area call by you won’t be disappointed

A treat for the family when the kids come home from uni. We went on a Saturday morning for ice-cream & coffee. As usual the range of flavours made making a choice rather hard. We had a combination of Jaffa-cake, Bountee, rich chocolate & rum & raisin flavour. They were delicious. Yes it's 'expensive', but it's wonderful. If you want something amazing, pay what it's worth! The staff are lovely, the coffee good. Can't wait to go again.

This place is amazing, loads of ice cream and some unique flavours. A real family treat. There is a cafe area upstairs, little tables outside, all housed in Talbot yard along with a bakery, butchers and Italian pasta shop. Highly recommend!!

We recently visited Malton and stumbled across the Groovy Moo, located in the Talbot Food Court.

We are on holiday in Malton and was told that we had to visit groovy moos ice cream. What a choice not just flavours but if you want a tub or a cone and even then you have a choice in sizes. If you are not sure of what flavour to have you can ask for a taste and you can have a mixture of flavours. Well worth a visit we will be back

After hearing how good this ice cream is I took two of our grandaughters to check it out. This is serious icecream and totally delicious. The staff are lovely and so friendly.

Snazzy flavours top quality ice cream parlour. A must if you are in the area. Better still divert from the a64 and pick up a home takeaway!

Just a fabulous little gem of a place. Lovely friendly staff. The ice cream I had was probably the best I've ever tasted. Bakewell tart flavour , big old scoop for 2.20 so great value too.
