Greek On The Docks in Gloucester

The service was good , staff was polite and dedicated . Good atmosphere with some views of the canal. Upon booking a table for 7pm the booking form indicated that we will have to leave by 9pm. Apparently the 2 hour slot is common practice. The food was plain and tasteless. We had calamari, and marinated Souvlaki. The meat was dry and it certainly did not have the succulent marinated factor that they promised. The fries had no flavour and tasted like those frozen chips you can buy in a cheap supermarket. The yogurt mint sauce again had no flavour. Calamari was disappointing too. After having visited Greece a few times, we expected more of the food. Not sure we will return.

Nice place next to the Docks. You can eat inside or on a glazed terrace with beautiful views. Both the food and the service are good and the price is correct considering the quality and location of the premises. I recommend it as an option for fish and seafood

Had a really great meal here, it's a lovely location, looking out over the water, and the restaurant is beautiful inside. The staff are charming, friendly and helpful. Food is wonderful, proper hearty traditional Greek dishes.....and the Greek red wine we had was incredible! Absolutely loved it <3

Wonderful atmosphere, filled with staff who are clearing enjoying their evening and managing a busy restaurant and bar fantastically! Our cocktails came quickly and were wonderfully presented and tasted great. Our food service was prompt and knowledgeable, and utterly delicious! Menu choices were varied, and well priced. Very happy 😊

Absolutely superb. The service is attentive (but not "excessively present"), but as good as the venue and waiting staff are, the food is the real star of the show. For my family of four picky eaters to have completely cleared their plates for mains and dessert is an achievement in itself! The pork souvlaki, in particular, was succulent, perfectly marinated and seasoned - but I'm biased because that's what I had. Even my youngest went wide-eyed at the "amazingly tasty!" chicken skewer. Result all round!

Food was ok, had the kleftiko but was a bit disappointed by it. Meat was wrapped in filo pastry

You cannot take dogs to this restaurant, we travelled to Gloucester Quays for the afternoon (bank holiday monday), however, when we enquired about a table for 3 and our dog we were told dogs were not allowed in. The staff were also oblivious to dogs ever being allowed in so not sure where the previous reviews have come from!!!!!!

Very tasty food with a great view of the docks, we passed by by chance and had a very nice evening. Despite the lack of a reservation, the restaurant made everything possible and organized a nice place for us. Thank you for the lovely evening!

Authentic and incredibly satisfying greek experience with a variety of starters shared and an Athena mixed grill for mains. The Tzatziki was the freshest tasting I have ever had along with the flatbreads. Wonderful!

On a breakaway from Devon for a birthday, found this gem ,and so glad we did . Amazing service , friendly staff , super food !!!!!! Pina colada cocktails best I've tasted. Reason for 4 stars and not 5 , we felt the moussaka was a very small portion and hardly any Greek salad. But excellent otherwise.

An amazing restaurant. We went in Sunday at about 7:30pm greeted with a smile at the door and shown to a table. We ordered drinks and food with enough time given to make out choices. Lovely staff so polite and welcoming. Our food came out quickly and was absolutely delicious. I will post some photos I took. We can’t wait to come back here to eat and I would highly recommend. Great customer service and food 🎉

Lovely food and atmosphere. Not a 5 because they called last orders early and silently then refused to serve at 10.55. This meant our small and quiet group of friends were left without a drink but with 45 minutes until taxis arrived. They had given us a cocktail menu 10 minutes before and knew we were choosing. It felt like suddenly the owner arrived and they wanted to close up and get rid of customers. It spoiled what was otherwise a lovely evening.

Went for a meal, the most amazing food ever, the service was really good couldn't of asked for more. Highly recommend

Beautifully presented restaurant on the docks. Great atmosphere (5pm on a Saturday). Extensive and inviting menu. Attentive and friendly service. Had the kleftiko (divine) and good quality ice cream. Drinks good. Would definitely return and recommend.

Great food and reasonably priced. It was the first time I'd been there and I was expecting it to be a bit more homely, however it had a bit more of a corporate feel to it. Not a bad thing. Obviously very popular as it was absolutely packed for a Sunday lunch time. Would definitely go again.

Well appointed restaurant situated dockside. We sat in the glazed area at the front and despite the cold wind outside it was very cosy. There is an extensive menu and the service is prompt and friendly. The food was tasty although I felt my moussaka could have been better presented. Would definitely visit again

Had an evening in gloster and was recommended by my aunties. This was by far the best restaurant we have been to in a long time 😊I’m gluten free and couldn’t believe how many options there were . The staff were lovely place was so clean and tidy and the food was amazing . We will go back soon

The location of this venue is lovely, it really takes advantage of it's position. We had an unfortunate experience here inasmuchas the fish in the platter was chewy, and we got food poisoning. The staff seemed sympathetic to the poor quality of food, but not forthcoming with a solution. I can't recommend this venue for food.

Just returned from having the bottomless Sunday lunch with 6 friends, it was amazing for £30 each, the food selection was very good, the food was exceptional with no skimping because it was this menu, the drinks were topped up continuously for 2 hours. The service was amazing the staff being very friendly and hard working, value for money was unbelievable. If you want the best of Greek food this is the place for you

Amazing food, cant even ask for better… staff is very polite and always around. The only inconvenient was that I booked a table for 7 persons for around 2pm and they told me that the table will be only for 2 hrs which I agreed, but the time flies when you having good time and good food, so after 2 hrs we had ask for check and to leave , BBBBUT the restaurant was really empty!!! There was no problem because we had more money to spend and to enjoy, so we went to their competition Settebello trattoria, next door… Anyways, I love the place and the food and I will return for sure, strongly recommend the place, but we have to eat faster next time

This is my second visit to this restaurant, the setting is relaxing overlooking the water, good sized portions, I tried the Pastitsio dish which i absolutely loved very tasty, the salad was wonderful and fresh.

We are frequent visitors and have reviewed before but I wanted to review again to reiterate what an amazing place this is. The food is always good and today was no exception. Great service and so lovely to chat to the staff about all things Greek. Thank you Yiannis and co, we will see you again soon.

I know I have reviewed GOTD before and I have always rated it highly but I felt I must review again after today's visit. Again it was truly superb. The service was excellent, the atmosphere, although busy as it is half term was excellent and the food was the best we've ever had. We are always made to feel so welcome and really enjoy a chat with the staff. They even help us with our very poor pigeon Greek!!!!!! Thank you once again Yiannis and co. We'll be seeing you again very soon

Our fourth visit to ‘Greek on the Docks’ and what a visit! We had booked an overnight stay in Gloucester to treat ourselves and so we could enjoy the restaurant’s ‘Sunday Bottomless Brunch’. Fantastic food and attentive service as always, checking if we needed more drinks etc. Started with Bellinis and Prosecco, then house wine with the main courses. We opted for the Sunday roast and the sea bass with spinach rice. Great flavours, generous portions and perfect veggie accompaniments. We felt unhurried even though when we booked online the booking said the table would need to be returned by a set time. We had coffees to finish and shared a dessert too, along with a little more Prosecco (it would have been rude to refuse when it was offered!). Great atmosphere and a dockside view. The restaurant also has a Deli on the docks, to take home some treats also. This restaurant gets it so right, and are deserving of their great reviews. Well done to the GOTD team.

Came here for bottomless brunch for my birthday with friends, everything was amazing! Food lovely, generous portions and service great. Cannot recommend enough! The roast was great, my husband said one of the best he has had. Can't wait to come back! Thank you!

We enjoyed a wonderful meal recently - service was wonderful; staff were attentive and knowledgable, the food was wonderful; really tasty, plenty of it and very well priced. Atmosphere was great and we can’t wait to go back in summer to sit outside and feel a little bit like we’re back in Greece. Highly recommend

Food was delicious and came very quickly. I had a selection of the starters which were delicious, my husband had the swordfish which was a good portion size and tasty. Pina colada mocktail was absolutely delicious. Make sure you leave room for dessert because they are amazing!!

Turned up on a Sunday evening without booking but we were immediately accommodated. The food was very good, the service was excellent (thank you Adam!) and there was a buzzy atmosphere! We look forward to returning!

Another cracking meal. Walked in and waited at the bar, no booking but they accommodated us. Originally booked cote for a change but they threw us out as we wanted to pay with filthy cash but they only accept cyber money.. fools!

It's been 2 years or so since our last visit, and we were not disappointed we ordered from the lunch menu . The food was fantastic and very reasonably priced, and we will definitely be going again soon.

Best bottomless brunch ever, food was absolutely spot on I had roast beef which was cooked to perfection, highly recommend, we were a large party of 25 and everyone was happy with their food!

We visited today for a very rare lunch out and were sadly disappointed. Eating from the lunch menu all of the food seemed frozen and the meat was dry. Service was impeccable and the setting is beautiful. I’m hoping it’s just the cheap lunch menu...

Outstanding 80th Birthday dinner for 25 people, excellent food, service and atmosphere. Gluten and dairy allergies perfectly catered for.

I went with deep fried zucchini with sauce and some chicken for my mains . For desert I have gone with all in one which served all the Middle Eastern dessert like baklawa .Food was great and service was outstanding. It was team outing and everyone enjoyed the time. The team was kind enough to arrange taxi for our way back

Delicious food, friendly team and the tastiest baklava ever! Plus great coffee. Only tiny suggestion - how about offering a small piece of baklava with a coffee for people like me who would love to buy a smaller pud with a coffee.

Waitress polite but food took a long time considering they had very few customers. Grilled meats were dry and tasteless and was hard tell what was lamb, beef Or chicken. Very expensive for very poor quality

Just great all round, but after a couple of starters the main was just too much (the spicy sausage in the main course was just spectacular!!👌) The service was stunning (some of the best I have had outside of fine dining, honestly) and the location good too (a nice view of the docks). Fair few families/kids but we were in very early doors but that’s nice anyway, very Mediterranean…

A wonderful place where you can find delicious food and a very welcoming and kind staff. I have visited Greek on the Docks many times, including for my civil wedding, and there will certainly be many more occasion in the future. Highly recommend! Happy New Year!

We have been to Greek on the docks many times, it’s a favourite, especially if feeling hungry for a mixed grill. The last two visits, despite being perfectly pleasant have felt underwhelming. The friendly attentive service is still pretty good, the food is still pretty...

Visited here twice a couple of years apart and have to say, it is by far one of the best greek restaurants i have dined in! The food is amazing, service is great and the atmosphere is perfect. All of this plus a beautiful location. Will definitely be visiting again next time i am in the area and would recommend anyone else do the same.

Went their for a Xmas lunch. The lunch menu is great value and the portions are easily big enough for what you need. The quality of the food was excellent and the service very good in a great location. Recommended

Maybe we came on a bad evening. We had never been here before but we came based on reviews and we were very disappointed. The gentleman that greeted us I couldn't fault but the young lady with a long ponytail who dealt with us had attitude and seem to be working just for the money not looking after the customer so that didn't help our mood. Maybe she was having a bad day herself. Food wise was OK nothing special. The starters were disappointing and my main which was moussaka which I love when cooked properly was disappointing no great flavour and vegan options were disappointing too. So sorry to say we will not be returning. However please try as Maybe we just went on a bad day!

Restaurant was packed out on a busy Saturday night before Christmas. Food and service was fabulous. Would definitely recommend.
