Greek Olive in Swindon

This place is amazing. The food was excellent. So much choice. Caters well for young children. The staff couldn’t be more friendly. Definitely recommend it. Thank you for a wonderful meal.

Large party of us went. The food was outstanding, exceptionally good. Prawn saganaki was delicious and mixed grill was huge. Such good value for money and the staff are lovely.

After hearing great reviews about this restaurant from friends, I booked a table to give it a try. I was not disappointed. From the minute we walked in, there was a really nice friendly atmosphere and we were attended to immediately by the staff who really care about the business and customers. Onto the menu, there was plenty to choose from and we started with the halloumi and Greek meatballs with mozzarella. These were both cooked excellently and was a great start to the meal. We both then ordered the lamb shank and it was easily the best lamb shank dish I have ever eaten. There was so much flavour coming from the dish and this was accompanied by a choice of 2 sides which really bolstered the meal. The portions were fantastic and you walk out of the restaurant so full! A complementary dessert on the house was the final cherry on top of this meal for me. I cannot recommend this place enough and it is really refreshing dining in a restaurant where all the staff are happy and passionate in their product. 5 stars!

Saturday night at Greek Olive was such a pleasure. The service was wonderful, food was excellent and plentiful. This is definitely a place I want to come back to. Honestly, we ate too much as everything was so nice you felt pained to leave it.

Wonderful food and fantastic customer service. We visited to celebrate our anniversary and were blown away by the exceptional attentive service, it really made our evening besides the wonderful food. The team had taken time to dress the table with hearts and confetti and a banner. Honestly can say the best place I have ever been. The food was just stunning and the service was even better! They put banners out, cake and even a free shot for a birthday celebration and we didn’t have to ask. Beautiful family business and needs the recognition it deserves. We had 2 males serve us who were so lovely and friendly. I didn’t catch their names but whoever was working evening of 5/10/2023 were lovely! Every the staff that weren’t serving us were incredibly lovely when we walked in and said goodbye. Could not recommend enough. I really think the world needs more places like this because it was just the best night! We've just got home from yet another wonderful evening at The Greek Olive. It was my son's birthday and the lovely hosts made it so very special for him. We can't thank you enough for all your thoughtful touches. You really went above and beyond, thank you 💕. The food here is delicious, very reasonable and HUGE portions. You will struggle to decide what to choose from the menu because you will want everything. This restaurant has a wonderful family atmosphere and is run very efficiently. Staff are so helpful and welcoming. You will feel like you are on holiday (well, apart from the weather 🤣) Cannot recommend highly enough.

We went with our two daughter's families and 4 grandchildren. Very warm and friendly welcome. The food was great and we were spoilt for choice. Limited wine list but very good selection and value. The adults even got a free dessert and the younger children a free box of sweets. Overall a wonderful evening.

Me my partner and baby busted here today 29/8/21 after being recommended by my partners work friend booked table at 2 arrived 10mins early to a very happy welcoming lad who got us a seat with room for the baby’s pushchair he also made an effort to say hello to the baby and make him smile which goes along way with us, ordered food and drinks and within 10/15 mins it arrived it looked amazing and tasted out of this world, will definitely be coming back again and highly recommend anybody to come here, best restaurant in Swindon by far

Excellent service and amazing food....what more could you ask for? This intimate space is a little Greek taverna away from Greece! We started with Tzatziki, spicy prawns and gigantes with fluffy warm pita breads. Then came sea bass and beef stamnas accompanied by roasted potatoes and refreshing salad. The Mythos was cold and the greek music softly playing in the background could have whisked me back to any of the many islands I have visited. Ευχαριστο πολυ θα σας ξαναδούμε.

After hearing really good things about the meal, we were very looking forward too coming here in hope that it would live up to expectations. However…I’m amazed to see how well it beat them, the customer service was amazing, nothing was to small or big for the staff, I made a slight comment about it being very warm and within minutes they offered us the chance to move to a better table, and they didn’t rush us to do so, they were so accommodating, and welcoming, the food was amazing, restaurant was abuzz, I honestly couldn’t recommend this place highly enough!

Booked this for my son's 21st and the restaurant could not have been more accommodating. We were late because out taxis did not turn up but they did not worry. We had a warm welcome and they had even put up banners and decorated the table, we had a 21st Balloon! We love family atmosphere restaurants and this had that in spades. The service was fantastic. The food choice was really good and the portions very big, we should go more often as there was plenty to choose from and we were just too full to even get to desserts!!!! 2 of our party are vegetarian and there was plenty of options for them too. Id not been able to get a candle for the birthday cake we took, they lit it up for us and to top it all we had a round of complimentary shots as we paid. It was like being on holiday! Great night, lovey venue, lovely staff, great food and the wine prices were reasonable too. Not only was it great, it was excellent value. Can't wait to go again. Excellent service and lovely food! We overindulged in starters so i struggled to finish my main meal. The waiter offered to pack it up to take home, but they must have accidentally thrown it away in the kitchen. While we ate dessert, they very kindly cooked another meal (full portion!) without asking!

Amazing food! Amazing staff! Simply perfect! Food send mr back to Greece. Everything was cooked to perfection and when the lovely guy that serves us find out we were on a birthday weekend he gave us all shots of Baileys. We would be definitely going back there again! The food we ordered was not what was expected from our experiences in Greece and at other Greek specialty restaurants. The Mousakka was obviously pre-cooked and then warmed up. My wife had the Lamb Kleftiko. The food itself was stodgy and not tasty nor attractive on the plate (unfortunately, I did not take any photographs). On the plus side, the portions were huge and both my wife and I were not able to finish the helpings served. As we were obviously not happy with the food we had, the restaurant did provide us each with a complimentary dessert. The service was excellent.

We visited for my sons birthday and had a great evening. We chose a variety of starters including the hot meze, salad etc. Followed this up with various souvlaki, salmon and lamb chops..all were delicious with plates emptied. Love the greek roast potatoes too! Service was super friendly from all the staff. Special mention for Dinos who really looked after us and went the extra mile to make sure we had a good time. This is a lovely family run restaurant that deserves the support from the local community. Yammas!

I went to this restaurant with my boyfriend and that was a great choice. The food was delicious including both starters and the mains ( gluten- free options are available which is lovely). The atmosphere there is great, all the staff is very friendly and you can see they work as a team. We will be back, definitely.

Met friends here for dinner on a Saturday night. Booking is a must as it was very busy and every table was taken. Friendly service and good fun atmosphere. Food was delicious, well cooked and fresh. I’ve lost count how many times I’ve been to the Greek Olive in the past few years, the family friendly vibe is phenomenal - you feel like extended family when you walk in! Personal faves dish wise are Feta Dimitris, Feta wrapped in filo pastry and drizzled with honey and sesame seeds, Chicken a la Grec, a creamy garlic mushroom sauce smothered over chicken and around Christmas time their Lamb Giouvetsi is a culinary masterpiece - Lamb shank braised in a Parmesan and Tomato Orzo Pasta.Well worth a visit if you are in the area, you won’t be disappointed - value for money, superb hospitality and ample portions

First visit here after glowing recommendation from my son who has been here once before. Loved the atmosphere, had a great buzz as soon as you walk in. This is obviously a family run business and all were fantastic in delivering excellent customer service. The food is absolutely amazing and plentiful. This was our first visit, can’t believe we hadn’t found it sooner! Restaurant was really busy so we thought we were in for slow service. But the service was amazing! Every member of staff a delight. I have a few intolerances, I let them know the day before and they went out of their way to marinade my food differently without the ingrediants I am allergic too and it still tasted just as good, amaizing service, I cant wait for them to come back off holiday so we can book in again.
