Grappolo in Kirklees

Grappolo’s is an absolutely fantastic place to eat, the food is always great, having been several times over the last few years. We went for our young lads birthday meal, children all had pizza and loved it, adults also enjoyed the food, which is always done to an excellent standard. The staff are always very pleasant, friendly and always smiling, they make you feel very welcome. Bobby came and spoke to us often, speaking to the children and engaging with them very happily, also on request played the birthday song, had all the restaurant singing and clapping for our young lads 7th birthday while Bobby had Freddie up and dancing (much to his embarrassment and our joy!) Also, with a complementary ice cream with birthday candle 🥳 Summary; great food, great place and excellent staff!

Visited for my dads birthday with the family. As always it was fantastic, great atmosphere, very friendly staff, the food was perfect, well priced and very quick service. Highly recommended. Thanks to all the staff for a great evening.

Staff were Very friendly and welcoming. They were very accommodating for all likes and diets, the food was lovely food.

The food and the atmosphere here is excellent and prices are fair. We eventually had a great night after a poor start. Just after our arrival another party arrived. We were totally ignored whilst hugs were exchanged between the staff and their “more important” guests. We didn’t let it bother us, but some people would have been offended. It won’t put us off returning, but others would definitely think otherwise.

An early evening meal before going on to a concert. Being welcomed as old friends (we weren't, but it felt good) by an avuncular maître d'. who insisted on finding a table which would accommodate someone using clumpy crutches. Immediate service from very friendly and young staff who provided prompt help without us feeling rushed. Food apart, my main positive about the place was the incredible and very Italian family atmosphere in which the staff were all positive, efficient, friendly and funny. I know it's not original but everything came to a stop to celebrate someone's birthday on another table. with sparkly hats, fizzing candles, cake and singing. The best part was the way all the other diners reacted. They must have been regulars because the slow, increasing handclaps, cheering and singing happy birthday involved virtually everyone there. The food? a great Italian bistro menu with a full board of special starters and mains ranging from £6ish to just over £20. Drinks extra. Great service, great food and people who notice you (like our friend rushing over to point out that it was unnecessary to go upstairs when a disabled loo was available near the reception. What? Of course! We'll go back soon.

9 of us went to Grappolo for my Mums 70th birthday. It was amazing service from start to finish. Bobbi was our waiter and he was brilliant! Food was great to, we weren’t waiting long either.

Thankyou so much Grappollo for making our daughters 21st birthday meal a night to remember. Nothing ever too much trouble and the food as always amazing. This restaurant was buzzing when we arrived. I had booked online and mistakenly booked the wrong date, but they managed to accommodate us and we had a fabulous meal. Waiters were really good, friendly without being over bearing. Service was prompt and the food was lovely. Really nice place.

Fabulous night - went for my son's birthday on a Friday night without a booking (we were let down by a different restaurant), and they made such a fuss of him and spoilt him so much. He's had such a wonderful experience, and the food was amazing, too. We'll be back for every birthday tea from now on!

What a fantastic welcome we had. Service was of the highest standard. The atmosphere was buzzing early dinner Tuesday in January says it all not many tables available. The food was exceptional, shame we are not local, on saying that would be prepared to travel 6hr round trip to re-visit. Thank you for your hospitality, greatly appreciated.

Wow...what an amazing atmosphere 👏 We went on Saturday at 6pm for Mums 80th birthday....we had booked on line and received a confirmation via email. On arrival we were seated quickly and within the first 1min a lively waiter had brought us bread and asked if we would like a drink. Once we had ordered food the food came out in an excellent time. It was hot and well presented and of course delicious 😋 There were plenty of staff that were around ensuring all tables had everything they needed without us feeling rushed Mum was made a fuss of and they brought a birthday cake. They sang and danced with mum and it was great. They made such a fuss of all of us and we felt like family. I must add there have been some negative reviews however I completely disagree with these. Our night was faultless and we can't wait to go again. Thankyou to everyone of the staff in front and behind the scenes for making mums birthday celebrations a night to remember.

It was very busy when we arrived. We were not greeted very politely and had to wait a good 20 minutes before we got shown to our table. It was incredibly busy and very loud, so it was hard to have a proper conversation. The staff overall were very surley. The food was just ok. I wouldn't go back after how we were made to feel.

Thank you so much for the most delicious Pizza. The Pizza Bianca was a wonder - thin pizza base, topped with mozzarella, goats cheese, broccoli, asparagus, grilled courgette, sun dried tomato and a touch of gorgonzola. Been quite a few times over the years. Went on the 21st of this month (dec 2023) for my daughters 12th birthday and i can not recommend Grappolo enough! Atmosphere was absolutely amazing, staff were exceptional. Made my daughters birthday very special and looked after her so well. Staff are honestly the most nicest staff ive ever come across in restaurants. And the food..... the food....... TEN OUT OF TEN! alround PERFECT evening . Absolutely loved it. Eaten there tonight. Fabulous food. The staff can't do enough for you. One of the best eating out experiences I've ever had. Hamid the owner and all his staff are wonderful. I can't speak highly enough of this restaurant.

After a very warm welcome, we had starters of spare ribs and whitebait then we ordered pizza, pasta and from the specials board, Sea Bass. The food was second to non. Absolutely delicious. The service was fantastic. The atmosphere was just right. Bustling in a good way without being too noisy. Everything was spot on from start to finish! 👌👏🏻

Food was fine, though not piping hot. Problem was the service. The person who came to take our order was almost argumentative, we ate at 8pm on a Saturday night and we felt we were continually being rushed to make decisions and then move onto the next course by several waitress staff. They did not need our table after we left so we didn't understand why this was important. I must say that the person who took our bill did not fall into this category, he was professional, courteous and well mannered. I make these comments in the hope that they are taken on board by the establishment. Hopefully they will and other customers will receive a better impression than we did. _----------- Thank you for responding and taking on board my comments

It was our first time here. The atmosphere was excellent. The food, service, place where top notch. The waiters where very attentive and fun. We'll be going back in the new year. The food was well priced.

Came to Grappolo's tonight for a family meal for my birthday and had a fantastic time! The food was absolutley delicious and all of us enjoyed it. I really recommend the pizzas and the chocolate brownie for dessert. All of the servers were wonderful- very attentive and friendly and when it was time to bring out our desserts, they put birthday music on, sang 'Happy Birthday!' and brought out my brownie with a candle and a paper rose. They all went above and beyond, especially 'Uncle Bobby', to ensure we had a great time. I really recommend this restaurant and will definitely come back in future!

I always enjoy the food here. The only thing I don't enjoy is you feel rushed a bit. You can't fully enjoy your food or drink because you feel rushed by the waiters so they can seat the next person.

This place was incredible!!! The food was to die for, the atmosphere was absolutely amazing and the service was fantastic! The guy playing live music on his double keyboard absolutely made my night!!

Absolutely brilliant restaurant with both top class food and service! I've pretty much tried every pasta dish on the menu and all are exceptional. The quality is superb every time. Fantastic atmosphere and the service is really prompt and professional. All the waiting staff are so upbeat and friendly. The pricing is really reasonable for the quality of the food. Some of our favourites are the prawn tricolour pasta, the salmon pasta and the burger. To be fair we've never been disappointed in any of the dishes we've tried, and we visit very regularly!

Lovely early Saturday evening tea with our 2&1/2 Yr old granddaughter-great atmosphere and enjoyed by all.

No doubt this is a lovely restaurant and a high standard of food. Waiters a bit too attentive at times making it difficult to have a conversation without being interrupted. They've also introduced a 'packaging' fee now for any food you decide to take home...

Lovely Italian spot, the food is great. I really like the arancini with sugo and the meat has a great texture, really juicy. Wine selection is also good, the reds are lovely. It’s a great place for a large gathering or a date. The staff is nice, sometimes slow but the place it’s almost always busy.

We’ve been eating here for years and cannot understand the negative reviews that occasionally surface. The food is fantastic and the staff are brilliant. Perhaps the negatives should stick to McDonalds

Very good pasta dishes ( the lasagna was good ) plenty of choice on the menu for pizzas and pasta and the early bird menu is good value for money in terms of potion size. Decent and recommend.
