Gourmet Burger Kitchen Greenwich in Greenwich

A cozy little café with a nice selection of food. From sweet to savory. We chose scones with clotted cream and jam. And that was a good decision. The scones were delicious 😋, the clotted cream has a lot of (!!!) calories, but it's just as important as - for me - the jam. Placing an order was quick, the service was friendly and everything was delivered to our table quickly with coffee. The toilets are clean, also pleasant 😉. Be sure to check the opening times beforehand; We were lucky, but half an hour later we wouldn't have been served. But as it was, we liked it.

Very nice brunch. The quality of the food is great and very tasty. Definitely recommend.

I usually come to this area a few times and it occurred to me that having breakfast in this place could be a good experience, but unfortunately it wasn't, the staff was nice, but they should pay a bit more attention to the hygiene of the utensils they offer to the customers and also in the food. Just a recommendation, maybe in my case I was unlucky this day!

Fries were really dry and as hard as a rock. I had to throw them away as it was inedible. I also had chicken Burger which was good in general but very unsalted.

Lovely cafe with very attentive staff. Food was very good and service quick. Wide selection of breakfast choices including a specials menu. They also serve freshly squeezed orange juice, smoothies and lots of delicious looking cakes. Dog friendly.

Visited on a rainy Sunday morning. Nice little cafe in Greenwich. Service and the community like vibe were superb. Tried the egg Royale and cappuccino. The poached eggs were cooked unevenly, so as the texture of the hollandaise sauce on the side, but the flavor was still there. The choice of the coffee beans were too strong for a cappuccino so it didn't mix with the milk well and unfortunately left a bitter after taste. But it looks very pretty with the chocolate on top.

We are here right now 10//03/24 we had the Mediterranean Breakfast and a fruit flavoured prosecco and it tasted amazing. The staff are lovely and friendly 💗

We had a great experience for our first time in Greenwich. We didn't know where to have breakfast so we tried the Green Café and it was lovely. From the food, which was excellent, to the cafés (oat milk latte was great), we had such a good time ! It is not too pricey, knowing that we were generously served ! Service was also quick and it's nice having smiling people welcome you :)

Excellent little cafe without the stress of Bills across the street. Had Eggs Benedict and it was well cooked and presented, and good value at £11. Lots of tasty pastries on offer and a good atmosphere, the only downside is there is a lot of screaming babies which is the bane of middle class Greenwich cafes and pubs. Also people smoke outside which stinks and gets inside but not the fault of the restaurant so can't complain. Great little breakfast place and well priced. Enjoyed it 🥳

We waited in line with no issue and the staff moved some chairs for our group of 6. Food was great and the service was really good. Personally had the black pudding Benedict and it was awesome.

Went for breakfast the morning after staying overnight at the Novotel with partner and friends. It was very busy and we got one of the last two tables left. Very interesting and extensive breakfast menu - we all went for different options and they were all absolutely delicious! Great drinks too (very good freshly squeezed juice), service was excellent and we also bought some fantastic homemade cakes to take away as we left. A really great find!

Very upsetting experience today. I always walk by but never enter. Today it was my first time. I really wanted to get some cake for take away. The place looks lovely. It is bigger than anticipated. The issue was I was waiting at the tail to order. There was a table of 4/5 people leaving. As one of them approached the cashier I let that person go. I was expecting that she would pay something and we would be the next. After she paid, I moved to start ordering and the guy at the payment said “it will take some time, I have all the other ones to pay”. WHAT? I said, it is fine I am not interested. I let someone go first the minimum service I would expect it was the guy to understand I was there first, or he asked if the other members of the table would mind to me to be next. I was a customer and definitely I will never be. And sad as they have a lovely selection.

I wasn’t shocked to read the other reviews below in honestly, but I wanted to share my experience as this place definitely has potential to thrive in busy Greenwich. We were one of 2 tables in. The place therefore lacked some atmosphere and it does look like it needs a bit of a refresh in there. The toilets are hidden away and look a bit unloved. We were given the option to sit where we wanted and were seated promptly. When we sat down, I asked if I could use my Tastecard (GBK is on there for O2 customers) and the waitress said she didn’t know what that was. There was a bit of silence and I wasn’t really sure what to say next. She went to say ‘you can go and ask’ before correcting herself and saying ‘I will go and ask the manager on shift’. I put it down to her potentially being new. She wasn’t rude, just probably a bit confused. We were given the little menu in addition to the normal which advertised the limited time only wings - which we were sold on - but when the manager on shift came over, he told us fried chicken was off as they were a frier down. We asked if that confirmed the wings and pointed to the little menu which he said it did and took it away. Our waitress came back and said I could use the Tastecard if I went up and ordered at the till. I’m not sure if that’s standard GBK practice now (going Nando’s style) but I didn’t mind. Our food came in good time, and looked really good too. Between 2 of us we had a grilled chicken burger, beef burger, 4 sides and 2 soft drinks (refillable). Everything was hot and fresh and really tasty. I highly recommend the grilled chicken burger, the onion rings and truffle mayonnaise. I did find it odd however that when I picked up my last bit of burger to eat, our waitress came and asked if she could take our plates whilst I still had the burger in my hand. She was really sweet and friendly, I just got the impression she’d been thrown into it and had to learn the basics on the job, not her fault at all. There’s huge opportunity here in my opinion for GBK. They have a good value menu that is really tasty but the aged interior and perhaps lack of investment in training their people up lets them down.

The food/drinks were fine but I was charged 12.5% service fee on a coffee? And I wasn’t informed about this. There was no service on the coffee either?? Hidden charges so don’t recommend.

I ordered online my food and is really disappointed! They put all the sauce top of my panko (they suppose to use small containers for seperate the sauces!) Under the chicken was full of water what made my food sooo disgusting! Instead of my chunky fries i got a supercold skinny fries! Tottaly horrible and for 22£ nothing for dinner is not acceptable!

I can't quite bring myself to give this establishment 5 stars because a member of staff here was once extremely rude to my sister, but the food is great and the atmosphere is lovely and cosy.

Loved it here so much that we came back again the next day! Got the sausage sandwich, tomato soup, and coffee cake and all were fantastic.

Cosy setting. Well-priced. We were warned when one food item (turkey club) may take longer to cook than the others. We actually did not wait very long, in my opinion. The food came in generous portions, and was very tasty. The coffee tasted great. Would go back again!

Super (hot!) breakfast with lovely coffee.

Bacon tasted old (see pic) which was disappointing and sausage average, but the toast and tea were great. The young waiter didn't start off too friendly but he was nicer later. Ketchup bottle also grimey!

Very good breakfast. Fresh food. Wide range of good and home made cakes.. (wintercake so good, walnut banana or pecan so tasteful..) special mention for pumpkin latte. Very kind service.. strongly recommended.

My Good natured friend popped into this cafe on Saturday last gone for a coffee. He sat down at a table and ordered a latte. Once he had finished his latte, he ordered another latte. The middle aged old women serving him told him that he couldn’t have another latte and must leave. How rude of her( what an old battle axe) , who does she think she is. There was spare tables, and he would have gladly shared his seating area with others. Hardly an advert for service with a smile. He comes from Bulgaria, and all I can imagine , she has a grudge against Eastern Europeans. If you fancy a coffee , where the staff are so rude, then this is the place to be.

We were looking for a traditional and authentic English breakfast and we found a very friendly staff and a delicious English breakfast. I recommend it!

I stayed in Greenwich for 2 nights and after eating here for breakfast on day 1 I couldn’t go anywhere else on day 2! Don’t worry about Bills around the corner - they’re everywhere - when in Greenwich brekkie here is a must 👌🏼

We were early but they were ready. Thought it was a really good value breakfast. Coffee was ok too. Lots of treats on the counter as well. We have been past at other times and it looks really busy at lunchtime. They must be doing something right.

Nice place for food and a coffee, but it can get busy at lunchtime. My lunch was delicious but there was only one staff member so it took a little while. Having said that, staff was really friendly!

The staff is terrible.They laughed behind the counter but tables are full with plates from previous customers.

This evening I had Takeaway Beyond Meat Vegan Burger and chunky chips. The Burger was delicious and the chunky chips were the best. So glad I chose Gourmet Burger Kitchen as I will use them again. Very happy Customer🍔

Great menu, quick service though freshly prepared, and friendly service. Cannoli are delicious, get pistachio and salted caramel!

Great breakfast including veg and vegan choices.

Walked past on my way to work and saw the most delicious-looking bread pudding. Paused but I kept on walking. I came back at lunchtime still thinking about it so picked a slice up for later. I got my partner some lemon drizzle cake too. £8 was expensive for 2 pieces of cake but I took them home for tea and my pudding was simply delicious. My partner thought the drizzle cake was tasty but not especially lemony but still asked for more next time I walked past it (unusual so must have been good). A day later and now I’m still thinking about the bread pudding. It was sweet, included both chocolate and raisins, and I think it was the best bread pudding I’ve ever had and I’m a little sad I have to wait until next Tuesday to see if they do it again. <3

Really enjoyed the breakfast here. I had the American waffles, which were delicious. Waitress was very warm and it was a great start to the day.

Probably popular for its all day breakfast as the place was busy but my first visit made me wonder why…had a “special” Steak on ciabatta and it was too tough for my knife never mind my jaw. Got a chicken substitute but it had more mushrooms than chicken. Very below par, setting is good and as stated it’s busy so I’m assuming I just fell unlucky…£17 as well for cappuccino and small chicken/mushroom ciabatta so I’d say value 2/10.

I’ve lived in Greenwich for 6 years, and it’s a running joke that there are no good breakfast spots- this is old school fry-up territory in the very best way, and the hash browns are the right shape - not a rectangle in site *cough* Grind *cough* Great service, lovely people and better food - would highly recommend

We visited for brunch on Thursday 3rd August 2023, whilst visiting Greenwich for the day. The Green Cafe has a nice menu and is very convenient for the railway station, so we decided to give it a try. We were very pleased because the food and drinks were really nice and the service was good too. We particularly enjoyed the tumeric latte with CBD, the peashoot latte and the vegan panini that I had. Would certainly visit again and recommend.

Dingy looking outdated decor. Questionable cleanliness. Obnoxious and rude staff. This is a classic case study of how a business can get it so wrong. Oh, 'Gourmet' ... really??? Don't let that fool you!

Absolutely terrible. Restaurant was dirty, took 45 minutes for three burgers, order was wrong and one burger not cooked. Drinks arrived 10 minutes later. Other diners all complaining, an absolute shambles, the “managers” not concerned at all. Avoid at all costs.

Watch out for hidden charges. Hate to leave a negative review for a local business - but we felt the owner/manager was a little rude to other staff. Average food and she charged me extra for maple syrup when the waffle came out pretty dry. All other staff were really lovely but thought it was poor customer service not to inform us of extra charges.

Do not go here very bad place, terrible attitude really poor service they were slow started arguing with customers at several adjacent tables about what was orded and what was not staff should not be employed in service business do not go to this restaurant

Overpriced and cold staff who look like they don't want to be there (especially the man).

Absolutely awful experience. My order of around £70 included a chicken burger, they gave us a beef patty with no bun! I asked to exchange it for what we ordered and was told the kitchen was closed and would not be reopened for us. My poor little boy is only 5 and was in tears. Customer service is not their strong point. Avoid at all costs.

Hmm. Not bad..... it was very busy when we were there. I always try to be extra patient when a place is busy, but the staff were rushing just a bit too much. If they just went a little slower service would have been better. I saw a few mistakes, and a slight lack of good customer service as a result. Food was nice though, the waffles are actually very nice and might be the best I've had. The maple syrup wasn't the best though. The milkshake was very nice but really rather small for £5 !! Coffee was a bit bitter, and could do with some improvement. Good selection on the small menu and lots of nice Italian style cakes to choose from. The issues may well just be due to it being very busy at the time but that's when the battle is won or lost!! Overall its well worth a visit

The Korean chicken burger is THE ONE!!! 🔥 If you’ve not tried it yet, trust me you need to go and find your nearest GBK and get yourself one or even two!! I went back for the bunless Korean chicken and OMGGG it was so bloody good! The coleslaw the salad the onion rings and the sweet potato fries all went down a treat. Staff were so friendly and very helpful. Will definitely be coming back again.

A bit disappointed given all the great reviews. I will say that the coffee was very good and the service was superb and friendly. But I’m knocking down two stars for the food. While the food came very quickly, it was cold and very average tasting. Presentation was great but the taste was just unsatisfying and unremarkable. Would come again for coffee but would look for brunch elsewhere.

Slow service, tasteless food. I ordered the breakfast waffle while hubby ordered full english. I had to sit there and watch him eat while waiting for my waffles which should’ve taken way shorter to cook. I had to inquire multiple times and they made it after the final inquiry. Then my husband sat there while I had to eat what tasted like sand paper with the tiniest bit of fruit on it. They didn’t even apologise for the delay. And this is the second time we’ve been there same experience as before. Extortionate bill for the taste and the dining experience. Absolutely won’t return again.

The burger itself was tasty, and I thoroughly enjoyed it. But, the service was poor. The waitress was rude and weren't willing to accommodate for allergies. The place itself wasn't that great. Floors were sticky and the furniture seemed in need of cleaning.

This is a lovely little café which has everything that you would want. we were given a warm welcome and the service was very attentive throughout . We chose the sausage sandwich and bacon and brie toastie. The latter was particularly delicious and the sweet potato fries that came with the food were perfectly cooked. The coffee was great and the food extremely good value for money particularly for London.
