Just a perfectly normal average burger. Nothing to remember, fries pretty good however. Bad habit adding “obligatory” tips to the Bill which is pretty High as it is

We visited this restaurant before seeing show at the New Theatre across the road. The staff were welcoming and friendly. Food was served promptly and was delicious. Thank you!

Best burger I've had in years. Top quality. 10/10. Bit expensive but well worth it. Good customer service Only complaint is that they add 10% service charge without telling you.

This was my first visit, so had no expectations. Restaurant was clean, staff very friendly and attentive and the food was extremely good. The burgers were 100% beef and cooked to order and your preference. Will definitely go to a GBK again now.

I am not the biggest burger fan but after having the fried chicken burger with skin on fies i can honestly say i could eat here every day. Service was great and very friendly, there was a wait for food once busy but customers were kept informed and i would willingly wait for such amazing food.

Went there before the theatre. I had the Satay Burger, which was really tasty and the slaw was awesome, so fresh, I actually left the chips and ate all the slaw. Husband had the Korean Burger, which was recommended to us by Louis, who served us. Louis was a credit to your restaurant, friendly informative and new his stuff. What I loved is he asked us if we wanted to pay the service charge, which we were as he was awesome. We will be back soon, as the husband wants to try all the other burgers on the menu.

Alas, first visit after quite a while and the standard has dropped. Overcooked sweet fries, appalling coleslaw (if that's what it was!), no in-house beconaise sauce and the salad brown and wilted. First time after many visits that we've had a poor meal here. The chap serving was attentive, but the food so terrible. OK, I didn't complain at the time, but we went there exhausted after a long day to eat, and didn't have the will to prolong it. Can't think we'll be going back there in a hurry.

Burgers were fresh and tasty, very good. But the one thing that stood out was the service. Really good. Attentive, quick and super friendly. Great choice if you fancy a burger in Oxford .

For one reason or another every time we come to Oxford we end up at GBK and to be honest we’re confused as to how they arent always packed! The service is fast, the people are really nice and their burgers (specially the chicken ones) are FANTASTIC 😍. Today we tried a “special” burger called “Side Chick”…. More like MAIN CHICK 🤤. Went out of our way to ask them to please add it to their regular menu (p.s pineapple on a pizza is a no, but pineapple on a 🍔 takes things to a different level! Thanks again for another great date night GBK!

I was really disappointed not to be able to eat at GBK the other day. I have multiple food allergies, and while they have an allergen menu which the manager came to discuss immediately, it doesn't break each menu item down into into parts, so I was unable to order anything by asking for items (such as mayo - egg allergy) to be removed. I've given 3 stars as the staff were all lovely.

Visited here 20th Aug for some lunch after hearing great things online and they didn't disappoint. Delicious vegan burgers & our server was brilliant regarding a nut allergy. He was extremely helpful, the allergen food came out separately and so also a big thanks to the kitchen for sorting that!

Amazing fresh food! Great service, we had the hey pesto burger and loaded burger as well as the home made onion rings. Delicious!

The lady attending was amazingly friendly and checking everything was okay with everyone, though the restaurant wasn't busy, it speaks volume of her customer service. Burgers were good and though it was MY fault not to check for student discounts, it is too pricey for a burger that doesn't include fries...Truffle fries make up for flavour, but as a chain, sadly, it's unlikely they'll offer it as a paid upgrade at all. Five star for the lady, 3 for the prices.

As always good GBK burgers, that’s what we came for. Restaurant could do with being a bit warmer and tables cleared a bit faster but the food was good, and student discount so we couldn’t complain.

Perhaps end of lunchtime sitting is not the best time to appreciate any restaurant, but the Gourmet Burger Kitchen did seem to be particularly lacking in atmosphere or friendliness. Service was good and the burgers themselves tasty - if not huge. Still not sure why...

Visited here with family at lunchtime. After a long wait the food arrived delivered by a waitress with a rather rude and brusque manner, my chips were cold, I returned them to the till to the same waitress who snatched them out of my hand...

The staff were very patient with my group of 11 ten-year-old girls. Great food and service and the girls had a fab time!

I ordered a fried chicken sandwich, onion rings and a milkshake. The onion rings were definitely the best part! Nice and crisp with good breading. Sandwich and shake good too. Good for solo diners looking for a quick meal.

Fui por la hamburguesa navideña llamada Holy Smoke, se fuma en el abeto Douglas y se cubre con camembert frito. Afirmó que tenía trufa mayo pero con toda honestidad no pude probar la trufa. Aparte de eso, fue realmente encantador. La hamburguesa en sí era muy sabrosa y la consistencia justa. Las patatas fritas eran geniales y el lado azul de queso azul que tuve fue exuberante.

Fui aquí el 27/11/18 alrededor de las 7 pm. Pedimos y tuvimos que esperar bastante tiempo para la comida. Tuve que esperar el batido durante unos 20 minutos. Entonces solo 3 de las 4 comidas llegaron y tomaron otros 10 minutos hasta que todas las comidas llegaron. Al preguntar dónde estaba la comida, la camarera (cabello largo y castaño / negro) nos dijo groseramente que estaba en camino. Cuando volvió a tomar una bebida, puso los ojos en blanco ante uno de mis amigos. La comida era buena (aléjate de las picaduras de los halloumi), pero reconsideraré mucho la visita debido al decepcionante servicio.

Called in today for a quick lunch stop. I ordered the classic burger and slaw. The burger was ok, little bit on the small side. The slaw was nice, again a small portion. The meal was very expensive, I could have had the same meal at Burger King for half the price with the same quality. I won’t back there in a hurry.

Had a really nice burger here. The fries were also delicious. You have to order at the bar. Waiters will bring the food when ready. Location is good. City centre of Oxford.

Came here today after the Tour of Britain start at Nuneaton.

Great chain restaurant. Really enjoyed my meal. The service was excellent. It felt like we were eating in an independent restaurant rather than a chain. The new menu is great and loved the cheese and truffle fries.

Hamburger buonissimo e servizio veloce. I prezzi sono più alti rispetto ad un classico fast food perchè gli hamburger proposti sono di qualità più elevata e il servizio è indubiamente migliore. Ho preso quello con il blue cheese e mi è piaciuto davvero molto, peccato per le patatine da ordinare a parte e non comprese perchè non esiste menu. Buone pure quelle comunque e buona la salsa a base di maionese e gorgonzola. Attenti alla basil mayo perchè veramente molto agliata! Consigliato per serate tra amici.

It has been some time since my last visit to a GKB restaurant. I am glad to say that this branch did not disappoint. Good service, great quality burgers! and modest prices. Highly recommended!

We were staying in Oxford for a week so we decided to try GBK for lunch one day. We ordered for delivery and everything arrived perfectly! Highly recommend.

The meal was delivered in 20 mins , Burger itself was wrapped elegantly with no dripping or spell . The meat was high quality beef with perfect fries aside .I guess I found my new favorite burger place in oxford.

Me encanta la hamburguesa en este restaurante ya que entiendo que el comprar hamburguesas de carne de proveedores locales y están hechas de carne pura. Sabía muy bien y me encanta las fichas de las rústicas. Yo soy muy exigente cuando se trata de hamburguesas y este es mi típico restaurante de hamburguesas que no puedo confiar en que conseguir una buena relación calidad-precio. Personal amable y buen ambiente, aunque pueden ser muy concurrido almuerzo y pueden tener que hacer cola. No sorprendido! . Tomó un amigo con quien estaba muy reacio a comer hamburguesas, pero él estaba tan impresionado que me las arreglé para convencerlo de que le ha vuelto un par de veces ya que para su almuerzo.

Era muy tranquilo cuando fuimos y nos llevaron a una mesa cuando llegamos. Sin embargo, 15 minutos más tarde estábamos todavía sentado a la mesa y nadie había venido para tomar nuestra orden. El chico que nos recibió estaba charlando en el bar se levantó y parecía como si dos de las otras mesas ocupadas eran amigos de la gente que trabaja allí. El lugar en sí estaba sucio y parecía un sucio Restaurante wimpy desde el 1980. Decidimos irnos y no regresaré. Sorprendido el lugar sigue funcionando con tal mal servicio.

Yo tenía un cupón para una hamburguesa gratis y decidimos entrar en una semana la hora del almuerzo a mediodía. Yo estaba solo y me sentí un poco extraño comer sin embargo personal viajando sola era muy amable.

Fuimos a GBK para algunos papas fritas y dos batidos (estado allí dos veces antes). Extremadamente caro (14 libras), pero > no es realmente el problema si tienes lo que quieres. Patatas calientes eran buenos, macizos y caliente. Batido de chocolate fue realmente decepcionante. No es simple y agradable, pero 'belga 'chocolate lleno de bultos y más dulce. bits El Strawberry también era demasiado dulce. No me importa si quiera vender GBK especiales variedades, pero me hubiera gustado que no los sabores estándar.

Este es mi lugar favorito burger! Sus hamburguesas son muy originales con combinaciones deliciosas de ingredientes, no es el típico BLT o hamburguesas con queso. La carne es de excelente calidad y sus precios son normales. Si descarga su app, tienes lados gratis, hamburguesas y batidos muy a menudo! Prueba el Pablo, el Don y la pila hamburguesas! Tan bueno!

Had a very good Burger/Club Sandwich kind of thing. Very delicious. Try "The Arnie Sarnie", its a bit spicy but just the right kind of spicy. Service was quick but not super friendly, maybe just because I didn't understand them very good– and hey, everyone has a bad day then and again.

Usually go to Byron, but decided to try GBK for a change. Had the Blue Cheese Burger with skinny fries and onion rings. The burger was very well cooked(you get to choose how you would like it) and very tasty. The skinny fries were very skinny(should rename them anorexic fries) but they were OK. The onion rings were excellent. Came to £17 with a soft drink, so similar price to Byron as well. The staff were friendly and helpful. Recommend and will definitely visit again.

Estuvimos aquí para el almuerzo. Era bastante tranquilo, y el servicio era amable y eficiente. Pude ver que algo lleno a veces concurrido. La Orden era llevado rápidamente. Tuve la satay, él tenía la pila y compartimos algunas partes. Todos caliente y sabrosa. Buenas porciones de tamaño medio. Similar a Byron pero creo que tiene un amplio menú GBK aunque creo que tiene un ambiente mejor Byron en el restaurante.

This meal was really tasty - the burger, sweet potato fries and "home slaw" all delicious. For £20 a head (including a beer), this was really good value and a great start to the evening before the theatre across the road

First time we've ever eaten at a GBK after struggling to find places for a fussy 9 year old in Oxford that A) weren't italian and B) had a decent vegetarian menu. We have eaten at nearby Byron a couple of times so figured we'd give Gourmet Burger Kitchen a try.

Food was lovely both times I've eaten at a GBK I have never been disappointed.

We were in a hurry as we were going to the theatre and didnt have much time. Manager and waitress really looked after us, despite being mega busy and the food was really well presented. Service professional and friendly

GBK is a bit of a DIY chain but it sort of works. My very fussy partner and I love it, as do family, and we've never had a bad experience.

I'm already a big burger fan and was particularly hungry before eating at GBK so this experience went down a treat! I ordered a basic burger and it hit the spot. Staff were friendly.

Definitely not the best GBK we've been to - a much smaller shop with lots of tables rammed in, no table ready despite an online reservation and we felt very rushed through the meal. However, still yummy and reasonably priced.

We decided to eat here due to the great reviews. When we arrived we were shown to a table quickly, however trying to get between tables to sit down was awful and embarrassing to be honest, the gap between tables were too close together, Im a small/medium size even going sideways and my coat brushed against the food on the table next to us, I couldn’t apologise enough to him. The food was ok, nothing special and quite pricey really for a burger on its own, then to pay to add fries to my meal.

We was going to see Greg Davies at the theatre on the same road had a ten minute wait for a table but this gave us time to look at the menu before we sat down you have to order at the bar not something I am a fan of but gave it a go the food was so good they was slow bringing drinks we went an collect them as our food had arrived at the table

We came for lunch with my friends. It was a great day.We took burgers which was really good and not so expensive.

This was an absolutely fantastic burger. We both had a cheeseburger which was juicy and perfectly cooked. The highlight however, was the stack of onion rings. Good grief, these were soooo good. Small coleslaw, very thin chips and a couple of beers made this the best chow we've had in ages. I couldn't fault it.

We loved eating here, such great service and amaaazing food. Nice little New Zealand touches (e.g. L&P on the drinks menu) which we found great because that's where we're from :)

Sunday Lunch at GBK and was not disappointing, I had the Don Burger and my Girlfriend had the Blue cheese Burger.

My second visit to GBK in Oxford and the second great burger. Both times I wished I had room for more than 1 burger because I wanted more.The service is good but the location can be noisy when groups are located near you.

My partner and I popped in at about 4ish on a Monday and it was very quiet as we were the only people in. The waiter was friendly and helpful and the food was excellent. They have a brilliant choice of gluten free food as most of the burgers can be cooked on a gluten free bun. It's just a shame that the fries aren't gluten free!

Really nice and tasty burgers specially the pesto burger and the Satay one they are just Amazing... and they have the best Onion Rings I ever had....

On a visit to Oxford, we decided to eat in the centre rather than use the pub near our hotel, and having tried other burger restaurants, thought we'd try GBK for a change. Not the biggest place it has to be said, tables were close together, and where we were seated, if the tables beside us had both been taken, we couldn't have left without disturbing someone's meal. Only one, very small loo, and also noticed the containers of dressings sitting on the shelf which didn't look too appetising. Didn't realise it was a self order place, just like a Wetherspoons, asked for burgers medium well, but my wife's came rather pinker than expected. Onion rings were tasty, but the fries and burgers were average. No contact with staff of any note, although there was a small jar for tips on the table. Bit of a disappointment really, and wouldn't rush to use the GBK chain again if honest, had better at their rivals and pubs......

We ate here prior to seeing a show. Good no frills service and well presented food. Ok if you like your burgers and self service.

My husband and I were on a trip to Oxford and had a huge choice of restaurants, unfortunately we chose this place! The gent who served us was unhelpful, unfriendly and not interested in us at all and considering we were the only customers in there. The burger I ordered came out with the wrong fillings but when I tried to grab his attention he was nowhere to be seen. On the way to the toilet, I noticed that there was a large bowl of mayonnaise just left out on the side and by the colour of the top, it had been there for a while. I can also guarantee that the toilets haven't seen any cleaning for a long time. Very disappointing considering it looked lovely from the outside, please avoid this place!

Order your food line a fast food chain and pay £20 for a burger, chips and a beer!!! Never again. It was disappointing and very expensive, £20 is 2 courses and a drink normally not a burger and fries and a bottle of beer. Expected so much more.

We arrived here as a large group. We had not booked a table but despite it being busy, we were found a table. The staff were friendly and seemed to really like their job. The food orders - which you place at the till were sorted out quickly and it was good that a NHS & NUS discount was given. The food, although having been ordered in dribs and drabs individually, all arrived at a similar time. The food was tasty and well presented. Free refills on some drinks - these were replenished with no bother at all. Although this was a noisy, buzzing place, the eating experience was a good one. Have previously had a very bad experience in one of their restaurants but this one was in a different league

Fantastic burgers, interesting flavour combos, the best milkshakes and sweet potato fries. PLUS an awesome student discount. I have never been disappointed at GBK.

A great example of the brand promise outstripping the proposition. From the reviews my expectations were high. And it certainly was a tasty burger in a comfortable environment. But in truth it was small, expensive and the sweet potato fries tasted like the ones from the freezer. Only go if it's convenient, because there are so many better places to eat in Oxford.

Went on New Year Day having been in other GBK so knew what we were going to. The place appeared run down and uncared for. Whilst most members of staff did their best to be welcoming one obviously didn't want to be there and served "with attitude".The standard of food was only okay nothing great. The cleanliness of the toilets left a lot to be desired like a pair of wellingtons would have sufficed!!! Value for money not good certainly think twice before using any other branch and would go back to this one

Forget the others, this is THE place for a burger. Great selection, all tastes catered for. Been there many times. Take the kids for an experience they won't get at any other burger place

Popped in for a late lunch on a December Tuesday. Great atmosphere which was the sort you'd expect early evening not normally lunchtime. Food was good, service was efficient. Can't fault it. Very much recommend it for an informal lunchtime.

Very good food with enough sauces for burgers. You can get any burger on the menu with vegetarian patty. Try Go Naked option: No bun but salad and grilled corn. Friendly staff and family friendly, but a bit noisy and the tables could be cleaner.

Always a reliable burger, but the sides are expensive and not universally good. Maybe it's just me, but the Rosemary Fries are a no no. Side salads mean and pricey. But the burgers are good enough to outweigh the rest. Very innovative toppings on the burgers.

This part of Oxford has plenty to offer in the restaurant department however the cosy looking interior and reasonable prices brought us here! The food came out within 15 minutes of ordering which was really impressive as you can tell that the ingredients that they use are freshly prepared! The music was great and the service was really good, all of the staff were friendly and approachable which made for a lovely laid back atmosphere! I ordered the cheeseburger with extra jalapeños and avocado, and my boyfriend had the Camemburger (they don't come with fries so we had to order some on the side which wasn't a problem as they were cheap and plentiful!) the burgers themselves, although look quite small, are soooo filling! We were both so happy with our evening here and would definitely come back again!!

Great place to eat, use restaurant regularly, staff always welcoming, food delish and quickly served, love their refillable cordials which are great value and their skinny fries are wonderful. Enjoy eating here, particularly if we're able to secure a window seat!

Premesso che non sono un affezionato degli hamburger, devo dire che in questo locale si mangia veramente bene. Personalmente ho provato un hamburger di agnello che era veramente squisito. Il servizio é gentilissimo e molto paziente , nonostante ci sia sempre una fila di persone in attesa.

We stopped here for a Saturday lunch. Our burgers were very nice. Sides good also. The staff were brilliant. Only slight disappointment was no student discount on a Saturday which makes it a little pricey. Overall very good and will return.

I could never imagined that a burger could be of such a low quality. Costing a good £11.95! The meat was literally unchewable and almost tasteless. The bun was cold. The atmosphere reminds one of a take away situation rather than anytning else. The pretentious and robot like behaviour of the waiters (polite in appearance though), added to the tragedy of this place. It was the first time I visited (and the last as you could imagine). I do not know whether today was a simply bad day for them, but definitely it was for me. Try other, much better, places in Oxford for a burger. Not this one.

Visited here for an evening event with some work colleagues. We booked ahead, which was a good thing as the restaurant was very busy - especially notable seeing as it was a Weds evening. This place does till service like Nandos, which is something I tend to think disqualifies a place from being considered a 'restaurant', and more of a 'joint' like McDonald's. Having said that the service was good and the staff were pleasant.There were lots of cracking nuts available in glasses to take to your table. This results in lots of nut shells being left all over the table, and probably the floor, and is not something I was convinced by at all. I had a cider, which came with a glass ready chilled which was a nice touch.To eat I had an avocado burger, which was good, as well as sweet potato fries which were really tasty. The plate my food was served on though was pretty small and this was annoying as it then meant having to delicately balance food on it so it didn't fall onto the table.Overall, the food here was good but with a few things that disqualify the restaurant from getting 4 stars rather than 3.

Previous visits to the GBK chain have gone by without a hitch where as this meal has had some issues that were simple but not good, when ordering we stated that the Californian we had ordered was to have the Mayo swapped for garlic mayo after the server came to double check this he still incorrectly served the burger with the normal harissa mayo and with garlic mayo on the side. The worst part of the meal was when I noticed that my major tom had been made without the bacon advertised, when I asked for this to be resolved (expecting like most resteraunt a the whole burger would be replaced) the same burger was returned just with added bacon, though this was fine it's annoying seeing as most resteraunt a would have replaced the entire burger.
