Good service, but very bland food. Ordered chilli prawn rice, no flavour just extreme spice. Katsu curry, dry chicken flavourless chicken Curry sauce was good however not enough.

Came here for a Mother's Day lunch with my sister, my Mum & Wife (two birds with one stone 😁). Great starters to begin with which we shared between ourselves: two calamaris, some pork ribs and the pork skewers; all very tasty. For the mains, my sister and I had the tamarind duck, while my Mum and Wife had the lamb shank and sirloin steak respectively; also all very tasty. Finished off with dessert: chocolate fondant for Mrs, banana fritters for Big Sis, mango sorbets for my Mum and I had the sticky mango rice, with a cappuccino post-feast. Overall, good food and nice, friendly staff. My only criticism was the speed and delivery of service; it took a bit longer than I expected it to take. When the food arrived, the starters and mains were brought altogether, which I found a bit odd. Other than that, a nice day out.

I brought my family here for Mother’s Day and the dining experience did not disappoint. The cocktails were lovely, the food was simply delicious and the service was 5 stars. We stayed for 3 courses and handed the table back at the end of our time slot which was more than enough time to eat, talk and enjoy the lovely atmosphere. The calamari and steak were cooked to perfection 👌 not overcooked and rubbery as some places serve. The classic pad Thai was scrumptious and did not disappoint with the peanuts served on the side allowing me to choose how crunchy I wanted it. The tofu was nicely done as well. My mother absolutely loved the sorbet flavours offered for dessert and the banana pancakes and vanilla ice cream was a welcomed treat. We advised them of an allergy or intolerance and they were very diligent and attentive to this. Often checking before serving each course. Portion sizes were reasonable and so was the pricing. Definitely value for money and I intend to go back.

I can't recommend Busaba enough for anyone craving authentic Thai cuisine in a welcoming atmosphere. Five stars all the way!

We were a party of 8 that did not have a reservation so it was fortunate that they were able to seat us on a Thursday evening. They didn’t have a lot of staff members working so the restaurant was half seated. Service was good as the waitress was very friendly and helpful. I have only ever been to Busaba once before and that was over 10 years ago in Manchester, so we thought we would try again. Food wise was a bit disappointing, more westernised versions of food and definitely not authentic tasting. The dishes weren’t as flavoursome as it could be. The Tom yum goong had egg noodles inside that didn’t really make it taste any better as it was very sweet. The roti was probably the best dish as we ordered seconds. We wanted to try the pandan chicken starter but it was not available so we tried the pork skewers. They did not have the banana fritter either. I was excited to try the mango sticky rice but it was another disappointment. Flavour was there, but the mango bits was very dry. Unfortunately, I don’t think we would be coming back again.

So disappointed with this restaurant and its food. I would if I could give this a zero if I could. This is a multiple seater restaurant. I went with my mother and father who had visited and wanted Thai food. We were sat beside a table that had food from a previous diner on the floor and under the table. A couple with a loud baby were seated right next to us which made our experience worse as it kept crying. We ordered the duck and noodles which was served with a sauce made with too much fish sauce. The duck was cold and had soggy duck fat. I had a beef fried noodle dish that was smeared with ground black pepper. I can only presume that the chef had liberally spilled the pepper in error. My beef was cold and the noodles had egg that had split. The only bonus was the tamerind duck we ordered with rice this was hot and tasty. Overall for what we received it was too expensive. Like a pot noodle but worse. Staff and chef lacked any love for food. Basic errors here which should have been addressed I was left feeling genuinely disappointed and will not be coming back.

Wonderful food, wonderful experience and wonderful hosts. Don’t miss the Calamari, Bang kapi Katsu or Green chicken curry. And the drink Koh Phi Phi… Ms Age was our host and she was simply superb. She took every detail of our requests & allergy information and catered to us with a beautiful smile and humility. It surprised us to know that she was the manager and so we were impressed by her courtesy and teamwork. The other staff including the male staff were also very helpful and welcoming. Food is great, ambience is good and the staff are excellent.

So we waited 35 minutes for our food to arrive and when it did it was warm at best. The pad thai was easily 50% bean sprouts. The spring roll starters were very oily and overcooked. Nobody came to check.and see if we were ok despite numerous staff on duty. Overall very disappointing.

Slow service. Frozen spring rolls, cold pork ribs and tasteless edamame! Mains weren’t any better…rank Thai green curry and the duck noodles I’m pretty sure were super noodles! £20 for beef brisket and barely any beef! Safe to say we won’t return. Positives were the prawn crackers and the rose wine!

Disgusting to the point I wanted to throw up. Do not go if you're looking for authentic Thai food. However, if you're looking for an overpriced Westernised version of that I would highly recommend this place.

My partner and I had an unexpected trip to lakeside today and ended up having dinner here, I will start with the positives: The manager initially greeted us and sat as down while providing us with some feedback about the menu, she was really polite and provided a great service. The restaurant is really well decorated and as it was quiet it was a nice atmosphere. The calamari which was recommended by the manager was amazing, I dont like seafood but that calamari I would order it again! The negatives: Once the manager explained the menu to us a waiter took over her and the vibe changed completely, it went from a great service to a terrible one. For some reason the waiter opted to ignore us, after a long time passed, he would keep passing next to us and taking orders from other people that had arrived to the restaurant aftet us and avoiding taking ours for some reason! My partner and I after trying to catch his attention several times finally got our order taken. We then asked for water and he brought us stacked glasses and the water, he then left not even taking the glasses apart and serving the water...which sort of reflects his bad service. No one came to ask how are food was and when we said we would like to order dessert, no one took our dinner plates, in fact we even paid the bill and the dinner plates were still there (you can see in the picture uploaded) My partner and I ordered the chilli beef and jasmin rice and it was terrible, the beef smelled funny and had no good flavour, the food was so spicy you could only taste the spicyness. I like spicy food but that was an extreme amount of spicy, the amount of rice they serve you is unnecesary, kind of like trying to get you full mainly on rice. The egg was nicely cooked though. As it was too spicy and not really tasty we both ended up leaving quite alot of our plate. Also forgot to mention we specifically asked for the calamari to come as a starter and it actually came after our mains! My advise, that member of staff requires more training or perhaps thats not the job for him, you could also reduce the spice a bit and improve the quality of your mince meat while adding more flavour to it aswell.

Do not waste your money going here, when you could heat up frozen food at home. Avoid!!

Went for dinner with a friend. Food was standard I expect from Busaba. Calamari could have been a bit crispier. It is after all their signature dish. It didn't stop the enjoyment of the meal so didn't flag it. Ieva was lovely and such a great host. Very personable. She's far too good to be at this branch or Lakeside full stop! Lovely lady x

This was really just awful. Watery, bland and worst of all nothing was fresh. Everything tasted like it came out of a tin. Satey chicken was awful, jungle curry was a brown bowl of watery soup that tasted like it was made with oxo cubes and off cuts of chewy chicken. 2 stars because the Asahi came in a chilled glass. Place was "sit wherever you like" empty on a seriously busy night for Lakeside.

Disappointing. Fancied a change from wagamamma. There's only so much Katsu curry you can eat. Love Thai food, but food portions and quality of the dishes are sadly lacking. Ginger beef tasty but the amount of meat you get wouldn't feed a squirrel. Sweet and sour chicken was heavily fried. Again few bits. Coconut rice was more like mash potato. Couldn't taste coconut only that the stodge was sweet. Staff were friendly but am out £55, disappointed and still got the munchies. Stick to Waga's

Today I went to Busaba for the first time and I want to say that I was served by Mario, who is the most professional waiter, he made me feel very good, he suggested what to eat and I liked everything, I want to thank you very much for the people in the kitchen for the good food they made, and especially for Mario who served me, he is an excellent man and very friendly, I will be back soon!

Busaba Lakeside, "I felt short changed from the service and quantity of food" The service was very slow at the point after we were seated, we was very close to leaving before someone actually acknowledge us to take our order, we were short for time so we went straight to mains. I chose the Black Pepper Beef and my wife chose the Chicken Pad Thai. When the food arrived l looked down and first thought was were is the rest food? All I can suggest is, if you are planning to go for any of the noddle dishes have starters beforehand, as the noodle dishes are a starters size potion, I have more noodles in a packet of pot noodles. No issues with the quality or flavour as they were both very tasty. Just needed it to be a main size portion. The staff wasn't the most attentive, no one asked if everything was ok etc as at this point I would of normaly mentioned something, so when someone took the very small empty plates, I asked for the bill, paid and left still feeling hungry. I felt short changed from the service and quantity of the food.

This was Thai food at its worst. We ordered green chicken curry which was a luminous green and bland; chilli beef which had 3 bits of red chilli but no other seasoning whatsoever, the mince beef also had a funny smell; and pork skewers which were so dry they were coming off the skewers. I went to a different branch many years ago and the food was a lot better. I do not recommend this place for Thai food.

Lovely lunchtime pit stop while doing some retail therapy. Welcomed as we went in, shown to our seats and asked what drinks we would like. Food didn’t take long and we weren’t disappointed, tasty and full of flavour. Definitely recommend and would go again.

Drinks service was a little slow at first although the restaurant was pretty empty. When we ordered our small plates to share as a starter they arrived quickly and piping hot. We hadn't decided on mains yet, but when we did they arrived within 10 minutes beautifully cooked fresh and vibrant. Presented well, delicious flavours. For someone like myself who would not generally go for thai. I was more than pleasantly surprised, and the birthday girl whose choice it was, couldn't have chosen better. We will definitely be returning. We went on a Wednesday which was probably why it was quiet. Will maybe go on a weekend next time. Definitely recommend.

AGGY (manager) is ABSOLUTELY incredible!!! Everything about the restaurant was awesome, the staff, the place was clean, staff were friendly. I am soo glad Busaba is in lakeside and they definitely got the right manager for the job. Will recommend and will be back x 1000

I had come to Busaba Thai for lunch, a tall blonde lady constantly kept staring at me the entire time I was eating. Every time I had noticed, I would give her a smile, she would carry on staring at me, and at one point even gave me a dirty look. Other guests who came after me, and were eating, would be approached by this lady, even guests sat on tables right next to me! She would ask them if they were okay, offering them a smile, then look at me with a disgusted look. Not once did this lady bother asking me if I was okay, but managed to be keeping her eyes on me my entire lunch, I think this attitude is appalling, especially coming from somebody who works as a waitress, her arrogance was shocking, and had honestly made me never want to return. You work at Lakeside, lovely, not Mayfair, this attitude was disgusting, and a behaviour check is needed. One waiter was very kind, he was a tall gentlemen, who kept checking up on me asking if my food was okay, rest of staff seemed busy, though nobody was rude like the lady I had encountered.

I wanted a low carb late brunch with my Sister and my gosh Busaba was a HIT. The ginger pepper beef and calamari was chef kiss. The meal was great. Totally delicious. The prawn crackers and the dip was banging too. Staff were friendly.

I was looking so forward to the food without any kids. Unfortunately the presentation for the chilli prawn rice was a more like rice been dumped in a bowl and not as tasty as the startford branch. Taste was a bit bland as well.

Absolutely fantastic restaurant to eat and all the staff are extremely attentive and friendly, we were served by Gergana who was brilliant!. The food is fantastic full of flavours and the portion sizes are very very good. Price of the food is good considering the quality of the what is being served, I would 100% recommended this to everyone.

I'm delighted to give Busaba a 4-star review! The beef pepper dish I had was truly excellent, bursting with flavor and cooked to perfection. The combination of tender beef and savory pepper was a culinary delight that left me satisfied. The ambiance and service were also commendable, creating an enjoyable dining experience. My only minor quibble was with the portion size, which could have been a bit more generous. Nevertheless, I left Busaba with a content palate and would gladly return for more of their delectable offerings.

Restaurant is very dirty. There was small pieces of food on our chairs. Even Menu had oily stains inside. Food was cold and looks like kept half of the day in a steamer. Disgusting. Noodle were very soft, probably kept in water to keep them warm. I do not recommend. Waste of money.

Came for late lunch, had Chicken pad Thai - overall average ,not enough flavour , couldn't taste the tamarind , quite bland unfortunately. Satay chicken was nice, likes the crunchy peanuts , lots of onions in the sauce ,tasty. Cappuccino was average , although nice enough and frothy ! Service was excellent, attentive staff , nice outdoor seating overlooking lake , lunch pad Thai or rice bowels are £12 if ordered between 12-4 pm,which is very reasonable. Drink prices slightly high, 250ml pinot blush £10.50. Chicken satay starter 8.50

If ur a picky eater I wouldn't eat here since there isn't much u can edit about the food.Consisering I only eat chicken and veg there wasn't much for me.

Food was disgusting ... not thai food atall and then served me raw chicken .... waitress too back and apologised then manager came over with completely different chicken to tell me it was fine until I showed her I'd already photographed and videoed the food before it was taken away to which she then apologised and admitted it clearly wasnt the same food she had Dishonest... deceitful and poor quality

Absolutely delicious! We had 3 courses and all of it was perfect. We love Thai and are often disappointed in restaurants, but the food here is amazing. The service was attentive without looking over us (thanks Lucy!) and the restaurant itself is super comfortable and spotlessly clean. Now our favourite place to eat!
