Overpriced tiny burger 🍔 service unfriendly

Burgers are usually pretty good, lots of variations and "guest" burger get rotated in the menu, always worth checking what's currently on. They used to have the most delicious salt, called "Hei Hei" salt (this is honestly borderline addictive on fries or one of their massive onion rings) - but they've recently stopped having it for some reason. Bring the Hei Hei salt back, GBK!! 🙏

I used to use this location alot and enjoyed it frequently. Went in today sat down and waitress had disappeared. Seems there was personal issues in kitchen. They came back after sometime very unfriendly. Didn't seem to care about the order. Food arrived same poor attitude. The fries and onion rings were cold. I will not be returning to this location. All a mess.

i don't usually leave reviews, let alone bad ones- if i get a bad meal i chalk it up to a lesson learned and don't order from there again. but i truly do not want anyone to waste their money like i just did- never in my life has a meal been so wildly offensive to all of my senses ! barely a handful of undercooked chips for £4 and a £14 burger with a single leaf of lettuce, a thin slice of hard tomato, two rings of red onion and a slight smear of mayo as the garnish- my partner commented 'i wouldn't even make this for myself, let alone charge for it'. an absolutely colossal waste of money, i'd rather have gone hungry than looked at the embarrassment tbh

Visited with a friend yesterday. Had the blue cheeseburger with melted stilton which was very nice, though wasn't keen on the coleslaw (but not my idea). Ladies (Aimee and another lady whose name we didn't get) both very helpful and menu flexible as well when I asked for one or two variants...

Very polite staff, made you feel welcomed instantly and were very attentive without being pushy/invasive.

A very bad experience at gbk Brighton. Burgers came literally burned and the cheese not melted. Burgers had such a strong burned taste, that were not enjoyable. When we told the staff, the answer was "this is how we cook our burgers". Not coming back here!

The burger tasted burnt. We had to order separately for our friend with allergies and there was not fries gluten free. Nevertheless the service was really friendly and helpful, Charlie did a great job.

You can’t burn a burger when you’re charging that price. Chips unseasoned. Baconnaise cheered me on from the side line as always but this isn’t good enough

Food was below expectations. Halloumi sides were underwhelming. Was served the outside of the onion in my burger. Toilets stank. Apparently advertised offers don’t stack, be careful.

Really impressed with the service at this branch. I came here yesterday with a friend who suffers from several major food intolerances, and our server--who I think may have been a manager--was incredibly considerate, making sure to check every item we requested and made necessary alterations so that my friend could safely enjoy his meal. The actual quality of the food was fantastic as well; my burger was especially delicious. One of the best branches of GBK around.

Tiniest espresso martini ever. Got a tip whilst working today and decided to treat myself to a cocktail, but it came out like this. Pretty disappointed :( the food was okay.

Haven’t been for a while but was pleasantly surprised. Burger and chips for £7 & an order of onion rings (£3 and delicious). Lost a star as there was a happy hour for drinks but you couldn’t use this with the £7 burger deal.

Ordered premium delivery via deliveroo. Relishes and onions in the burgers despite specifying no additions. Everything arrived stone cold despite only supposed to be coming 1 mile down the road. And over an hour late with no apology. Avoid ordering delivery at the least, this is overpriced rubbish.

I had a bad (and expensive) experience in 2020, but we thought we'd give GBK another try. I very much wish I hadn't! The burger was tasteless. The bluecheese coleslaw had zero bluecheeseness, and was far too salty to eat. The halloumi was cold and rubbery. Salad was, well, see the photo. There was zero atmosphere. Too bright. Good parts: seating was new and funky. Chips were nice.

Always a great time visiting a GBK, staff were welcoming and friendly, and the food was chef's kiss.

Came in with a few friends for lunch. Food was superb and our server was really friendly. Will definitely be back!

I used to come just for the avo bacon burger (now gone) and amazing homeslaw (now changed to a basic recipe I can get at Tescos). Bring them back!

Great chicken burger, we’ve ordered grilled one and was delicious, full of flavour; there are vegetarian options too! you will need to order fries separately, and there is sweet potato ones, they are my favourite. Great service and very central in the heart of North lanes!

A lovely staff member served my family and I and was thrilled when my dad ordered the blue cheese burger (didn't catch his name but he said he has it everyday). His enthusiasm convinced me to try it too and it was awesome. The staff member was welcoming, bubbly and very polite through the whole meal and I can confidently say it made our day in brighton much better. Highly recommend for the food, fantastic service and overall wonderful experience.

We visited GBK with 7 children for a 10th birthday meal last weekend. The food was delicious (particularly the vegetarian options!) and kids meals very reasonably priced. Special thanks to Henry and Kai for the excellent service and for making us feel so welcome! We'll definitely be back soon!

This has been my absolute favourite GBK since 2012-13! I recently visited Brighton and had some food there and I was so delighted with the vegan options and customer service. Honestly no complaints other than we need the skinny fries back on the menu please 🥹

The burgers are basic at best and there are many better establishments nearby. Burger brothers is a stone throw away and far superior. The only advantage gbk has plenty of seating. Recommend if you're a family

Certainly not gourmet. Lots of kids. Burgers mediocre at best; slightly better than Burger King. Overpriced for the quality.

Yet another nice GBK restaurant that is rarer to find nowadays. They have closed many branches in the past few years. I enjoyed my well cooked burger very much, juicy and not overdone like in many other chains.

Can order your burger medium or well done! Amazing burgers , Onion rings and shakes. Highly recommended

Absolutely love this store it is our go to restaurant in Brighton on day trip so warm and welcoming all staff polite and respectful friendly service especially as my wife is wheelchair bound lady disabled toilet not working sadly but food and drink amazing quality Amy was so upbeat and positive lady just what we needed on our forty years anniversary from first date in Hyde park London 26 6 23 wow lovely memories again ,I managed to navigate gbk app free burger and milkshake lottery win will definitely return soon

Absolutely love this place good vibes it is our go to on a day out from Croydon never fails to deliver all staff polite and respectful friendly service food gorgeous and drinks can't do enough for you had issue with gbk app all sorted now looking forward to coming in tomorrow again my wife Barbara is wheelchair bound lady treated with compassion and understanding as was myself man of a certain age restaurant ran professionally indeed

First time ordering through Deliveroo from this place! My hopes were high, as I heard this place served really good burgers! Not only the order came up a bit late, my entire burger taste like burnt! I am disappointed :(

Friendly staff, quick preparation time, and delicious food! Especially the beyond & cheese burger!!

Lovely, welcoming staff. The food was wonderful, and I loved all of it, which I wouldn't usually get to say about most places. All served hot, fresh, cooked to perfection, bursting with flavour and tasted better than even Honest Burger and Patty & Bun. Normally I find chips flavourless, dry and boring in restaurants, but these tasted amazing. And very fairly priced too. Can't recommend enough.

I have not been to a GBK before, found ourselves in the lanes debating where to go and chose here, and glad we did. As soon as we stepped in the door, we were greeted very warmly by a smiling member of staff that asked if we would prefer a table or a booth. The service he provided was very kind, helpful with the food choices and details, and recommended a very tasty and well cooked Korean burger. All the food was cooked well, tasted fresh, and was full of flavour. The tables were clean, the toilets were clean, and we didn't feel rushed or an inconvenience at all. A very pleasant meal. Thank you, Kai, for a great service!

When i coming in Gbk i was recovering from my injuries my shakiras were not aligned however when zis human personification of a ray of sunshine Sinéad who gave me the best customer service experience of my life i realized i must get my life in order and take vengeance on those who have stabbed me and burn down their village . I would highly recommend the Korean bbq deep fried burger it very succulent , so succulent that my lips looked like that of indie music artist kylie jenner. if sinéad serves you tip her all ur money you won’t be disappointed.

Staff were nice and restaurant very clean. Good start. Three stars based on partners burger being good - lovely medium cook on the moist beef patty. My Korean burger was dry and I felt that the Korean event didn’t come through in the flavour at all. Very stingy portion of kimchi slaw in bun. Not bad overall but paying ten quid for a very forgettable chicken burger was not a good impression. Not the individual restaurants fault as they are following guidelines from the head office. We spend almost 50 quid and all We had were a couple of burgers, fries and onion rings. Hopefully head office might reconsider the portion size for the price charged.

We popped into GBK after an afternoon in Brighton and were warmly greeted and seated by Sinead. Sinead couldn’t do enough for us and was super attentive and friendly! The food was really yummy, I had the Hey Pesto burger which was so good.

Located in the North Lanes, this restaurant offers a great selection of burgers and other food like fried chicken strips and so on. We ordered a couple of burgers, mine was with jalapeno and my wife's was a cheese burger. My wife ordered hers medium well done and mine was a medium and they were served exactly as we had ordered them. The taste was great, the chips that we ordered on the side were great and the Madagascan vanilla milkshake was not one of those watery ones but a thick shake made with lots of ice cream and was perfect. The service was good and the staff friendly too and we did not have to wait long for the food to arrive. The cost was higher than we would normally pay but we enjoyed the food thoroughly and it was in such a great location. Happy to eat here again next visit to Brighton.

Always enjoy eating here because the food is consistently good and doesn’t break the bank. Staff are generally chatty and always engaging. This time Kai and Josh served us and made the whole experience more fun.

Started off okay, was greeted on the door by staff, was nice music, staff seemed friendly, my partner ordered a vegetarian burger and I ordered the Korean chicken burger with a side of fries, the food turned up within 10 minutes my partners food was nice, I ended up not eating because chicken was pink and the staff tried telling me it was the marinade that made it pink, so I ended up not eating the burger even after being offered for them to cook it longer or a different burger and ended up just eating the fries.

Seriously some of the worst food I've had for years. Dry burger and the cheese wasn't even melted on it. Was littleraly a dry piece of cheese on top of the burger. Ive seen better looking burgers at a school fête. The "salad" inside the burger was just a single wilted lettuce leaf. Asked for the chicken burger with no mayo, was brought with mayo. To be fair the staff were nice but the food was absolutely terrible. Also massively over priced, for terrible quality. Seriously do not recommend

Food was lovely, if you go for the meal deal its super reasonable. I customised my burger to the max and it was delicious. The Cajun fries are fantastic as well Staff very friendly and helpful, only knocked a service star off as I had to go ask someone to come take our order as was waiting at the table for a while but that was a minor thing. Sadly not a great review at all. Visited this place last January and was so impressed with the service (the young lad serving us was so efficient & pleasant!) plus the free-from food (I actually placed the same order twice it was so delicious!) was a joy to eat! Yesterday was completely different. The restaurant wasn’t at its busiest and we were seated quickly (which was great!) but after that we struggled to catch the server’s attention. I always believe the restaurant employees/employers should randomly sample the restaurant food & place orders from the free-from menu….because after that burger yesterday, I’m pretty sure they would have been extremely disappointed with the overall taste & quality of product as I was. The gluten free bun was so hard it was unpleasant & the chicken burger (I’m not vegetarian ) was dry & hard. Not a great experience. My fellow diners were delighted with their food (none of which was free from!) which led me to believe that it was just the free from food which was a huge disappointment. This company receives outstanding reviews for their food overall so I would like to think they would reconsider the quality of their free from burger buns & randomly sample what is on offer.

GKB in Brighton is a good burger restaurant that my wife and I can fully recommend. The food id very good and is served quickly by helpful staff. The restaurant is clean and the staff wipe the tables and clean the floor to keep it clean and wholesome. It can be busy during the summer so be prepared to wait but is it well worth it.

I absolutely love Gourmet Burger Kitchen. I was introduced to it in June 2020, when I came to Brighton for the first time by my best friend Carolina. Every time I'm in Brighton I have to visit GBK. I was there today (9th January) as I was treating my bestie to lunch for her birthday. Friendly staff, can't do enough for you and the food is simply superb xx. The review is in my male name. I had an absolutely awesome beef burger. The chunky fries were good. The place is lovely. The staff was very friendly. I had a great experience overall. (The place wasn’t very busy. It would assume it could be quite loud when it‘s full of people.)

Used to love GBK but not sure what happened. The food feels like lower quality, and the atmosphere is just like a burger chain. Hopefully things get better again.

The food was excellent. 'Hey Pesto' panko-crumbed was delicious. The meat was juicy and crispy on the outside. Pesto sauce was mild and the flavour of greens went very well with the meat. Fries were well cooked and crispy. Kai was very friendly and served us with a smile. Gave us some good suggestions which helped us enjoy our meal.

Visited GBK in Brighton on a December evening. The food was excellent. Cooked fresh and to order. The quality of the food was very high, and the burgers and chicken sides were to die for. Service was very friendly and extremely efficient. I was served by the amazing Aimee, who was probably as near to a ten out of ten as is humanly possible. A brilliant evening made all the better by the quality of the meal. A big shout out to Beth, the manageress, who was totally on the ball.

Perhaps they are cost cutting but there was more bread than burger and the fries were not full. It used to be 'gourmet' but now more average high street, slightly better than McDonald's! And expensive for what it is... Disappointed and will go elsewhere from now on.

This was my first time at a GBK restaurant but I had been recommended to go by a friend. There was a Fab choice of burgers, there’s something for everyone! I went as a group of 5, we all ordered something different and honestly I would have happily eaten any of the burgers on our table, they all looked delicious (they all tasted delicious too!). Great portion sizes with chips, very reasonably priced restaurant as a whole. The milkshakes were delicious too. The staff were very helpful and attentive, service was brilliant. Would definitely visit a GBK again.

Kind staff, easy and fast service. We ordered on the app, it messed up our order somehow and we were very confused. Normally I’d say it was our fault but we both clicked on the vegan section and so there was no way we could’ve accidentally clicked a meat burger from there. So was not their fault at all but equally we are both vegetarian so we couldn’t eat the burger, however the wait staff was very kind and without any hesitation they went and made a vegan burger instead and was fast ! I never like to cause any issues at all and so I was worried I’d made an issue for them, however they were so polite and just brushed it under the rug it made me feel a lot more comfortable. Thanks for helping us out and we will definitely be back

Great location and quiet despite being in the middle of the lanes. Wonderful burgers and shakes, wish we were actively told about specials as we missed out on two we would have liked to try. The panko fried chicken was however a bit over done and has started to go a bit dry. Don't forget to order the baconaise! One of the best sauces on the menu

No one to meet us at the door and show us to a table. When we headed to a table, we were intercepted by the manageress, who rolled her eyes and raised eyebrows in dismay that we were headed for a table. We were told that we had to sit at a table for two, although a lone female customer came in just after us, who sat at a table for four, as did a man five minutes later. There were parents struggling at smaller tables, trying to feed their children. There was a poor choice of beverage and much on the menu was not available. One expects to pay a premium when eating out and in return one expects not to be treated by a sarcastic manageress. I expect my wife and myself to be treated with dignity, if not respect. This was a shameful experience which I certainly will not allow to happen again. The manageress lacks charm and finesse, and the food is overpriced and uninteresting.

It used be so good but I went twice lately first time my burger was cold and cheese wasn't melty on a top of my cheese burger and ask night was horrible coleslaw was old and warm and my daughter chicken burger was hard in some places that she didnt eat it. I am not going back a shame it used to be my favourite place for burger!

I had the mighty beef burger and it was perfectly cooked and tasted great, the skin on fries were also very nice I had a pineapple dakari with my meal but I will defiantly try a milkshake next time as they sound amazing I highly recommend it

This GBK is in a great location in the Lanes. The burgers and side-dishes were really tasty and good value. It's just the service that could be a bit tighter.

Very cold and rainy night, went in for a quick bite after the cinema. Requested staff to close the door which was wide open, as we were feeling the cold; one of them said yes I could close it, so I did. One minute after, another member of staff came almost running to open it again arguing he was following their company rules, but if I wanted he could put the heating up to compensate! What kind of rule is that? Cold customers and wasted energy? Please explain, this country can not afford to waste energy like this.
