Taking on too many orders? Over an hour for delivery and the food was cold not even warm. Dried out salt and pepper chicken cold rice and cold ribs. Delivery used to be good

Nooooooooo!!! our favourite Chinese takeaway changed hands earlier in the year. I’d had my fears things weren’t going be the same and sadly tonight we were proved correct RIP GFD :-( was a pleasure giving you our business over the past 7 years but from tonight’s effort no more! Nothing tasted anything like the old owners!

After changing ownership going into the new year prices have risen while sadly the portion size and food quality had dropped. Not too bad but no where near as good as it used to be. Will likely not return unless desperate

Since the change of ownership on new year's Eve 2021 the standard of food has gone from absolutely amazing to total rubbish. No flavour to any of their dishes. Which is a real shame as this was the best Chinese around. Very very disappointed. Bring back the previous owners and chefs. Don't waste your money. Go elsewhere

This used to be the best Chinese takeaway in the area, but since being under new management from New Year's eve it has really gone down hill fast. We've had three takeaways from here this year and each one gets worse than the previous one. The meal we picked up on Friday was completely bland and tasteless! The Vegetables with Chilli and Blackbean Sauce didn't even have a slice of chilli in it and tasted like dish water! Absolutely terrible meal. If you want a bland, tasteless meal... this is the place to go. Such a shame...it used to be fantastic!

They are usually really good, tonight had the worst chinese I've ever had. 2 hours late, burnt food and incorrect order. Get a grip, won't be ordering again.

Not good food direct ! Under new ownership and not a patch of what it was before , rice was missing from order and what was delivered was pretty shameful

Omg I am gutted, this was by far the best Chinese around. We went for a much need takeaway fix after New year & it was just a such a disaster. They now have new owners, card machine wasn't working so we had to go hunt dow ATM But worse of all, our usual favourite meals were awful so much so, despite feeling really hungry we threw most away, & could not believe that the chips weren't even cooked Will not be going back here anytime soon

What's happened? Everything tasted completely different... I'd know as I've been ordering from here for years. Beef was a tad chalky/tough vs melt in your mouth last time, the satay sauce was too thick vs what used to be the perfect balance and and chicken balls were more like chicken testicle (they've shrunk a lot). I must admit I liked the flavour of the beef satay a lot (I actually tasted pranut as it should be) and it was great to see loads of veg vs what used to be just green pepper and onion. Get your sauce thickness right, tenderised beef properly and I think it would be better than before. So, close but no cigar - Have you changed chefs?

New owners if tonight is anything to go by I will need to find a new Chinese takeaway. Cold, wrong ribs given & nowhere near the quality of previous owners.

My haidresser Trystan, who just happens to be the best hairdresser I've ever been to & the best in Cowbridge described this Chinese as " Banging" was so spot on. This is just an awesome take away, love it, love it. Food is so good, meals/menu is very similar to the Chinese I'm been going to for the past four years but the quality & taste was far beyond better. Highly recommend, this is now my new favourite Chinese 👌

Excellent quality food. I leave food reviews from around the world and I'm self confessed foody. I ordered spring roll and to my delight it was tasty and freshly cooked, NOT dripping with oil as experienced at other establishments. My Singapore vermicelli noodles were also well cooked and showed very little use or signs of oil, chicken, prawns and pork meat with slightly spicy/ hints of curry, fine noodles with onion and sliced peppers, went down well. Schezuan Chicken and Chicken in spicy garlic sauce were flavoursome and not too spicy, next time I'd like to be able to order hotter but I have a liking for spicy food. Not suffering from the tongue stuck to the roof of my mouth either when some Chinese restaurant's use excessive amounts of MSG (flavour enhancers)! Give them a try, I'm sure that you won't be disappointed. Thanks

Easy access for my truck,good prices and a dam tasty meal. Update 22/11/18 I've called on a few occasions and the place isn't open,not a good idea to make the journey to the place as it looks like they don't care enough to open.

Best Chinese takeaway food in Bridgend.

3 stars is quite generous, unfortunately I did not enjoy the food from this place. Bean sprouts were quite watery, I could barely taste the garlic in the garlic chicken and the crispy beef was not as tasty as the previous ones I've had before. For the prices here I expected better food. Disappointed.

Lovely food, speedy delivery, great prices. Have eaten from here a few times, and will continue to do so. Would definitely recommend!

We just had another amazing takeaway from Good Food Direct. From phone call to delivery at the door it was 15 minutes.My only criticism is that the pancake roll had very little in it apart from beansprouts. The chilli beef and chicken curry were stunning. Well done again.

We moved to the area in February and were recommended Good Food Direct. It’s not a restaurant, they just offer a takeaway or delivery service. We called to the shop the first time - which has fantastic parking and when you’re ordering you see into the spotlessly clean kitchen where they are cooking. The food was absolutely fantastic, great quality and really value for money. They’ve become our ‘go to’ takeaway and we’ve had a few deliveries since - these were quick and the food arrived piping hot! I’m writing this review to highlight how great good food direct are, especially as everyone needs tasty takeaway food whilst we’re all following social distancing!!!

I always go to Good Food Direct and I have never had bad food from them. You can see them cooking as it is such an open food preparation area so you can see it is very clean and well looked after. I really love the Pork Chow Mein they do, which is the best I have tatsed anywhere. It is an unusual location and probably most people don't know it's there, but it is worth driving to for the great takeaway food.

Went to the take away down Bridgend Industrial Estate called Good Food Direct for the first time . We ordered a Chinese Take Away which was freshly made and very hot. The food was Very enjoyable meal and good price as well. Chilli Crispy Beef was enjoyable but a bit too hot for me but my family thought it was excellent. The staff are courteous and happy ! We will definitely be using this takeaway again !

Enjoyed our first meal so much, we went back the following night for another. Considering we only usually have takeaways about 5-6 times a year this is praise indeed. Note of warning, the meals with chilli symbols are marked for a reason! We will be back soon.

My wife and I have been using Good Food Direct, a marvellous 'Chinese meal take-away' a number of times. Their food quality, and service has been consistently very good, and their prices are very good with encouragement for scanning and ordering from their very comprehensive menu.Food can be ordered and is always available for collection in a fairly short and sensible time. Home delivery is available.We have never been disappointed with the food or the service.
