Not pretentious wine bar, with a lovely selection and great service. Perfect vibes!

Great wine selection. Friendliest service! Limited nibbles menu. I wish more thought had been put into the menu. Otherwise perfect little place to relax. Outdoor and indoor seating.

We popped in to escape the rain and it was a fab decision. We had the cheese platter and bread, which were all delicious. We shared a rioja, and despite knowing nothing about red wine the staff were very patient and helpful in helping us pick. It is in a beautiful part of the city and the character of the New Town building and the ambience made it a very cosy evening. We will be back!

I always have a comfortable and cozy time when I come to this wine bar. I really enjoy the wine list. There’s always something on the list that really excites me. Although I’m usually not a fan of New World wines, they had a South African wine on the glass list that was so spectacular. They also have great wines from all over Europe, many are natural. I’m always a fan of their cheese plate and of their small plates. I really enjoyed their take on hummus. Most of all I feel the staff is really kind and knowledgeable about all the wines and makes me feel at home.

Arrived at the bar at ten to four. Barman - we’re not open yet! Me - oh, what time do you open? Just moved to the neighborhood and finally got a chance to check out this place. Warm, cozy and the ladies working that evening were so friendly. My friend and I enjoyed a bottle of wine, some meat and cheese. All pretty good! I will definitely be back! Looking forward to bringing my out-of-town friends to my new local wine bar!

Worst place that I have been to. Bar staff constantly topping up your glass with you wine, which I hate. Almost as if they are hurrying you out to leave. Don't recommend this place if you want a chilled evening.

Super cosy wine bar with a fun selection at very reasonable prices (retail price + £10 to drink in). Food is mainly snacks but very well made and thoughtfully chosen. Staff were very helpful and kind!

Had a great lunch, meats and cheeses. Loved the starter of Mini Venison Pie. We were in early on our own and even had Sweet Home Alabama played twice.

Popped in for the Sunday Roast at lunchtime. Not overly busy so got a table straight away. Food was excellent, good portion and nice presentation. Cheeseboard was reasonable, pick three cheeses from the selection served with salad and chutney. Would have liked more crackers or even some bread instead. Friendly helpful staff. Couldn't sample the wide selection of wines as driving unfortunately. Not expensive for what you get in a central location.

Cosy little wine bar in the heart of Stockbridge. Good choice of wine by the glass and what has to be said, a very extensive list by the bottle. Food served all day and I mean all day. Which is perfect for when you fancy a nibble with the glass of wine you ordered for the road. Will happily return again soon.

Staff were friendly and helpful. Food was disappointing - stale bread, strong-tasting charcuterie (rather than just being nice or pairing/balancing with the wine), undercooked chips described as fries… Wine was hit and miss. Lovely decor. A shame!

Good food and reasonable prices for Stockbridge.

I visited this bar with my husband for the first time at the weekend. The service was great and very friendly. The wine by the glass list was limited and the bottle list was only online. It's sorted by price, no division of colour, style, country, etc which is a bit odd. The waitress wasn't hugely forthcoming with advice about which wines to choose, but maybe we should have asked more questions. We didn't have food but the cheese selection looked decent. Overall it was fine, nothing really negative to say, but it didn't blow us away.

A perfect sunny noon with a perfectly made fish finger wrap/ bun. What more can you ask in mid April?

Promised food never delivered I had their personal email to me saying food on it's way and when I checked my order with them saying it's all good, but no delivery. Did get a refund but evening wasted.

Recibimos muchos consejos sobre las ginebras y tuvimos una agradable charla con la camarera que estaba en el periódico local ese día.Después de 2 gt's y unos buenos aperitivos salimos para dejar libres nuestros asientos para las personas que hicieron una reserva.

He tenido la intención de venir aquí desde que me enteré de ello en la Wild Wine Fair hace un par de años, así que cuando mi novia y yo visitamos Edimburgo la próxima vez, pensamos en reservar para cenar.En primer lugar, no se presente a su mesa 15 minutos antes durante Covid, se le pedirá que espere afuera.La señora que nos atendió fue absolutamente encantadora toda la noche, el único problema fue que estaba absolutamente nevada como la única camarera en el piso, lo que lleva a errores como olvidar claramente hacer nuestro pedido y la comida incorrecta sale cuando finalmente hizo. Claramente estaba muy ocupada y no parecía recibir ninguna ayuda del caballero de pie para lustrar vasos. Teníamos la intención de quedarnos por queso y otra copa de vino cada uno, pero en realidad estábamos ansiosos por recibir la factura al final, que también desapareció por un tiempo y tuvimos que pedirla por segunda vez.Lamentablemente, también tengo que decir que la comida no reflejaba realmente los precios que está pagando. Tal vez me quedaría con el queso y la charcutería, porque la comida de la cocina no valió la pena la espera.

Se detuvo y fue recibido por el propietario, recomendó un encantador blanco orgánico siciliano crujiente. Tenía una gran pasión y educación por sus vinos y tuvimos una gran conversación. ALthough the staff were friendly, the tables were crawling with ants, when we mentioned this, the girl gave our table a wipe with a cloth, so we soldiered n and ordered food. However, when our food arrived, we ate some of it but noticed ants again on the table, which were now crawling onto the plates, again we complained, but the girl said she didn't know why, so we left. My friend and I both felt as if we were itching all over, no doubt this was just in our imaginations, but the ants were all over other tables, when we mentioned this to the table next to us, the just said, well we have finished now too but didn't seem to mind. If we were in a warm country, I could understand, but it was in Februrary on a freezing night in Edinburgh. They were infesting the place. Wouldn't go back, the food also was not too great.

I think maybe the chef wasn't well. . . This food came over tasting and looking like school dinners. I ate here last year and (like these photos) it was well presented, fresh and interesting small plates. Maybe its changed hands??? The abundant Sainsbury salad and cauliflower thing was a joke. I counted three bits. The fried potatoes soggy and the rice stroganoff mushroom thing was just flat. I'm still vexed. . .

Everything about this place is excellent. Service is great. Staff are lovely. Extensive drinks menu. Bear in mind it is Stockbridge though so if you're looking for a busy bar for a big night out you're in the wrong part of town. But a great place for a catch up with mates over a good bottle of wine

Great natural wine selection (though somewhat limited) with some fantastic individual bottles, all good food for pairing. Friendly staff that speak about wine in an engaging and energetic way.

Having been to this place several times over the past couple of months, I've always had a great experience! The staff really know their stuff, and the wines on offer are always really unusual/interesting. Service is always friendly and welcoming. Will definitely be back if I'm in the area again!

I live in the area and saw this place that looked appealing. I went to have a glass of wine with my friend. Our choice was Nero D'Avola, organic I think, when the attendant came and as if reading my mind said "we are replacing the NeroD'Avola for the Beaujolais". The price was 4.50 something like that... The Beaujolais wasn't particularly good, Corcelles I think, but that wasn't the problem: when I went to pay, each glass was double the price! I asked for an explanation, you would expect the same price range. The waitress' attitude was "Though mate, we served you the expensive one". Yes, she did as a board I hadn't seen announced 4 or 5 Beaujolais which she didn't bother to ask me to chose from. Her attitude felt as she had done on purpose, she showed no regrets, understanding or even a sorry as she said "it was miscomunication". I agree, she didn't explain, recommend or pointed out the choices of Beaujolais, also, I never saw the wine coming out of that Corcelles bottle.

Having just arrived at our holiday apartment, we weren’t in the. Mood to cook dinner so walked down the road and found this little gem. We were shown to a table at the back and we ordered the venison and duck casserole and the vegetable curry and wine. Both dishes were beautifully cooked and incredibly flavoursome. The ambience was cosy and the staff were friendly. A very reasonably priced, tasty meal in pleasant surroundings. We’ll be back!

I would normally never review a meal when being a guest...but I could not sit back seeing a compatriot who had the same unfinished platter of medium rib eye steak. Without question my worst dining experience ever, apparently the meat was sourced from the local Stockbridge butcher....the meat was as tough as shoe leather, a total shocker.........aand the token roast potatoes were burnt to a crisp!

Limited knowledge - essentially half an hour on a Thursday between 6:15 & 6:45!! But, nice range of wines, pleasant and helpful staff, reasonable prices. Quite a nice atmosphere, but usually pretty quiet at that time. I like it, other guests seem happy enough. Give it a go!

Out for drinks with my partner on Friday night and decided to try this place . This was the worst of the three bars we were in . Overly expensive drinks , cocky young bar person . No atmosphere . 1 beer and 1 wine £11. Beer was flat from minute it touched my partners lips . Wine was nothing special , better buys in supermarket. Very disappointing and certainly won't be back .

I’m so glad we were able to make it to this place! Friendly and knowledgeable staff (seriously they knew some of the coolest bars to hit). Their natural wine selection by the glass wasn’t huge, but was pretty good. And then they have a massive bottle list

We stumbled across this little place for a pre-lunch drink near our restaurant. Could have happily stayed all afternoon! Our extremely knowledgeable server was very happy to share her enthusiasm and recommendations - it was really delightful.

This is a wonderful venue with very knowledgeable French waitresses. Their wine suggestions have been spot on. Food is excellent and reasonably priced. You can enjoy the ambience of the bar or in the quieter room at the back

Llegué aquí en julio de 2018 y, sin embargo, nos decepcionó el viernes por la noche y me sorprendió gratamente.Si bien no está a la altura de algunos de los otros bares de vinos (que no venden cerveza genérica en barril), ahora es una alternativa agradable. Probamos la mayoría de los blancos (por copa) y disfrutamos de varios de ellos.Esperamos volver y ver qué hay en el menú la próxima vez.

Even though the title is "Wine Bar," they have a very nice menu. We went for dinner and, of course, drank a glass of wine too. The food was outstanding and the service staff were amazing.

This place could be a local gem but it gets it so wrong in so many ways.

We were up in Edinburgh for the weekend for my hen do (a small group of us). We came across Good Brothers Wine Bar after having a very disappointing experience in a previous bar where the staff were very rude to us! As soon as we walked in, the staff were so welcoming and accommodating and we instantly felt welcomed and the atmosphere was nice! They were very knowledgeable about their wines and the food was delicious, they basically couldn't do enough for us! I would highly recommend and will definitely return if I visit Edinburgh again!

Is just not average, selection of wines are good, the salted almonds are really good but 3 pounds for 10 almonds is not enough sorry.

This is a relaxed and friendly wine bar. Decor is a cross between typical bar/wine bar. Owners or managers were extremely friendly and attentive. Made up a special cocktail request and great wine choices. Would recommend giving this place a try.

We had a fantastic evening last night! Incredibly good pasta. So much so we ordered it twice! Staff are super friendly and attentive. Brilliant wine! We will be back asap!!!!!!!

The plywood seats gave a poor first impression but what really disappointed was the tiny portions. We ordered the pasta and wine offer for £15 a head but the portions were awful. The main course comprised 4 pieces of ravioli!

Very inattentive staff The bar is lovely and cosy (Little Rascal should aim for this ambience). However, despite the bar being quiet, the service was very poor. We waited at least 5 minutes before someone brought us (drink) menus. We had to flag down the staff each time we needed service. There really was no excuse, as there wasn't anyone else to serve. We sat with empty glasses for at least 10 minutes before we managed to flag down staff. The toilet was disgusting. When I asked for toilet paper, they were prompt in replacing it. But they didn't clean up the toilet. I had to do that. Why would staff not make sure the toilets are clean and welcoming? We wanted to spend more time there, because it's nece and relaxed and chilled with great wine and cocktails. But the staff ignored us. We waited another 10-15 minutes before we got so annoyed and went to the bar to ask for the bill. When we got to the bar, they were so nice and chatty... So... We have to come to you? At a table service bar? We went elsewhere. Such a shame. I really want to like this place. I really want better service.

We had heard about the Good Brothers from friends and had to check it out: We had a warm welcome and the bartender had good knowledge of the wines and his selection was superb: Others were eating and the food looked good, and it is a very relaxed atmosphere for both drinking & eating. We will visit the GB WineBar again on our next trip...NB we noticed dogs are allowed in also.

Die Bar liegt in meinem Lieblingsstadtteil Stockbridge. Nach einem schönen Spaziergang von der Innenstadt hierher, kann man hier einen netten Nachmittag bzw. Abend verbringen. Die Weinauswahl ist super, der Service auch und das Ambiente sehr angenehm und gediegen.

Great place to chill and enjoy a cool IPA or sample the extensive wine and spirits list, just off the beaten track in Stockbridge. Also, limited but discerning ‘Bar Bites’ menu: olives, almonds, pies, charcuterie & cheese boards (both with IJ Mellis produce).

A great selection of wines and spirits as well as very passionate staff. We really enjoyed our visit and will be making it a regular stomping ground. Thanks guys!

Ordered bottle of wine £20. Offered choice of 2 others as thru only had one bottle of chosen wine left which had been opened. Described 2 replacement bottles had to ask price £35 & £37..... Would you offer a bottle at virtually double the price of original request!!!! No I think not

Met our cousin at Good BRothers and our first full day in Edinburgh - this started the culinary journey through scotland. If Good Brothers is any indication to shed scotland/UK of its previous reputation of bland cusine this is it. Great selection of natural wines we opted for the The Collection Oszkar Maurer. a brilliant choice by Rory.

Great wines, the best cheeseboard we’ve ever had and fabulous service - this is a great place in Edinburgh and so worth leaving the hectic Royal Mile during the Fringe for this quality and service. Big thanks to Rory for looking after us so well

I been there with my friend tonight for a drink and something to eat, the menu was really small and we didn't like anything, so we opt for a cheese bord to share, which it was very bad presented, (1 of the cheese was completely melt) and we ask for some bread. The athmosphere in the restaurant is really nice and cosy, the weiters never come to our table, only to take the order and clear in the end. The very disappointed part was in the bill, we been charged for bread (which is ok) for £8,00!! 8 pound for 2 plate of 4 slice of bread and butter....to be honest I think it's a rip-off! We paid but we will never come back again.

What a gem! This lovely wine bar has a great selection of wines. Our table of 4 ordered 4 small plates to share and they were all wonderful.

Set in wonderful Stockbridge this is a very inviting high quality wine bar with friendly staff. From the minute we walked in we were made most welcome and given water to drink - a theme that continued throughout our stay. Some wonderful wines accompanied by a cheese board with the most marvellous orange zest chutney. Not too expensive either.

Jewel in town. Such a tiny yet cosy wine bar with quite big selection to choose from. Looking forward to come back.

I wouldn't go here on the basis of the food alone, which is OK but nothing special, but as a wine bar the place is excellent.

Eldest son & his girlfriend took us mid week , some really interesting wines and nice relaxed vibe about the place. The food was excellent from a limited menu of about 14 dishes (larger choice at weekends) it's a 'small plate' type menu. Really delicious pappardelle and wild mushrooms, buttermilk chicken stripes, steak, beignets, everything we tried was pretty good. All in all well worth a visit. Numero Uno son says it's their fav place just now and he's a bit of a reconstructed hipster so that high praise indeed in Edinburgh!

This wine bar is quite alright. the fold is not that expensive, but the wines are. Everything is really good, but you have to be prepared for a nice fat addition at the end.

Great atmosphere, knowledgeable staff (hello, Jasmine), delicious and inventive small plates. And the wine. Heavenly. Be brave and let the staff guide you on selecting one of their natural 'orange' wines. Jasmine helped us select one that seemed to go with all of our dishes. We are coming back tonight with friends to show off our new find. All wines can be bought by the glass , and be even be tried before committing to a glass. A perfect place for a date or with friends.

I visited last night and the food, drink and atmosphere were excellent. The menu isn't large so we chose lots of small/medium dishes all of which were great. I particularly loved the beef carpaccio and the olives were divine. Service was attentive without being over bearing - we took ages to look at the menu as we were too busy chatting but we were never forgotten about. I have a sweet tooth so my only suggestion would be to have more than one dessert. We will definitely go back.

Great wine, terrible food: artichokes taste like charcoal, and when you send back an entire plate of food untouched, they’ll still charge you for the privilege.

Tried set menu for a group of us and sadly we were disappointed. Some courses were sharing and some individual with dishes a rather alternative and quantities small. I’m sure it would suit some folk very well but wasn’t my cup of tea. One of the group popped in for a fish supper on the way home to make up. Pricy for what you got. £35 not including 10% automatic service charge. Service was very slow with no explanation of what was happening, possibly to encourage purchasing of more alcohol, if so worked, with almost as much again spent on drinks as on the meal. An interesting experience but not one I would care to repeat.

Visited here on our recent pre Christmas tootle to the marvellous Edinburgh. What a find ! Wonderful wine , gorgeous small plates . We had some brilliant cheeses and delicious fried polenta with delicious truffle aioli to nibble. Complemented the great wine a treat . Nice mix of folk and very knowledgeable friendly staff .

This was my first visit and I will be back when I am next in town. The wine list was great with an interesting selection of wines which we managed to sample quite a few of! The food was tasty and I like the small platters as you can order a few and share which is what we did.
