Golden Phoenix in North East Lincolnshire

I ordered at 6.15pm for five for delivery at 7.30pm, we did not receive the order until 9.15pm! The person on the phone apparently could not contact the driver! She kept telling us it would be with us soon repeatedly, we kept ringing every 15 minutes. They didn’t even put enough fortune cookies in the box and no compensation was offered. We should have been told the order could not be delivered on time and given the option to either collect or cancel. Very disappointing.

First time ordering from Golden Phoenix: food was hot and very tasty, best Chinese we have had in a long time. Large menu. Will definitely use again.

After reading reviews I was very disappointed, not at all what I had expected. My choice was a special chow mein and mushroom foo yung. I have had better and won't be going there again.

Ordered at 17.10 with a collection time of 25 minutes went to shop and didnt get my order until 19.10 because they lost my order and then told me i had not made one. I proved i had they then magicly found my order. Kids are starving and now late to bed on christmas eve. Will not be using again. Ever.

Visited for the first time today and enjoyed a lovely meal that was piping hot and seasoned well. Excellent

They do super tasty grub I especially love the peking ribs with the chilli also the kung po chicken is to die for. Top stuff!!

Well and truly enjoyed a chicken teriyaki the menu has a wide choice in comparison to others so there might be some more amazing meals to try next time

Great place for a Chinese excellent range of dishes I personally enjoy the vegetable curry. They also do soup as well which the hot & sour is my favourite.

Had a mix of dishes. Veg chow mein. Fresh, perfectly cooked veg and juicy noodles. All spot on. King prawn balks in batter sweet and sour. Fruity and sweet sauce. Juicy prawns in crispy batter.. perfect. Fried rice.. non oily.. dark with soy and tasty....

Situated in hardys road Cleethorpes, the premises are not particularly attractive but the food is very good- singapore noodles and salt and chilli squid were delicious. Served in a timely manner- dishes are individually prepared to order. Quality Ingredients, reasonably priced. Friendly efficient staff.

This was our first visit here, we was in cleethorpes for the weekend. Well worth a visit as the food was lovely and very nice staff.

We have been coming to this Chinese take away for about a million years and it has always been amazing. Great people great food great portions reasonably priced. We are spoilt because it is 2 minutes walk, and probably go too often.

We are currently staying on the haven, Thorpe park, site. We were going to dine at the Chinese buffet up the road but the queue was off putting as we are a family of 6. We decided to look at trip adviser to see what was around the area. This came up first. The takeaway itself is busy, friendly and very clean. Extensive menu and all prepared at amazing speed ! Very friendly staff and helpful with menu selections / combinations. Special offer mon-thurs- any main course with rice or noodles £5.- duck and prawn items at a small surcharge. New item yet to go on menu but advertised in shop is chilli salt and pepper chicken - it is wonderful !!! Reasonable prices and good quality food.

I have been getting my Chinese Takeaways from the Golden Phoenix for about 5 years now and have never been disappointed, tried other places but always come back to this one. Great food, fast service.

Decided to eat here due to the good reviews it gets, very nice first impressions, nice clean shop and polite well spoken Chinese lady. Ordered quite a lot as there was 6 of us. Ordered a combo starter, Spring rolls, Salt and chilli ribs, Chicken balls, crispy shredded beef in chilli sc, chicken fried rice, chow mein noodles, curry sc and prawn crackers.this meal was quite a bit different as to how it gets done in the north west? the Salt and chilli ribs were red and presented in a red sauce? usually fried with chillies and salt and pepper? they were tough and we didn't eat them as nobody liked them, the shredded beef came in a similar sauce but there was only about 12 strips with loads of very underdone onions and peppers with pineapple also in there, the chicken balls were ok a little overdone to me, the curry sauce was nice, the chow mein noodles were ok but we prefer the fine noodles, the chicken fried rice wasn't very tasty at all same as the side order of fried rice and also we had paid for prawn crackers yet never received them!! This meal was supposed to be our treat for the week but was very disappointing indeed and we do wish we had tried somewhere else, shame really as its a nicely presented shop.Just maybe something else, on the wall are some containers displayed which show the size of the portion, however they do advertise during the week that you can have most main meals and any side order for £5, two of our dishes were in that offer and ours came in a plastic dish not displayed and was smaller than the ones displayed in the shop, I feel that if they reduce the size of the main portion to accommodate the offer then you should be made aware that any offers are subject to portion control/smaller.

I have been using this Chinese takeway for over 15 years now and it never fails to deliver a great Chinese tea. Tried a few others over the years but always go back to the Golden Phoenix.

Our usual was closed so we thought we'd give these guys a try & we are glad we did! Everything we ordered was out of the oven piping hot!! Will deffo use these guys again!

Ive used many chinese takeaways over the years (I'm 55). This is our local takeaway and is by far one of the best. Friendly staff, plenty of waiting area, and quick service. On a personal note, I can recommend the pancake rolls, and the curries!

Chinese take-away's are very much a personal choice. you may like the way one prepares a meal yet the same meal just down the road doesn't quite cut the mustard... I have used the Golden Phoenix for many years now and occasionally tried other but I always return to where I know i'll not be let down...."Thank You Much" Golden Phoenix

Having seen this place had a five on the scores on the doors I thought it would give it a go . Not impressed at all . Chow mein was burnt and stodgy the beef curry was tasty but somehow they've also managed to burn the peas in it . HOW DO YOU BURN PEAS !!!!! . In fact the only thing that was top notch about the place was the nice lady who took my order . Very disappointing .
