Staff were very professional and always around if needed. The buffet was excellent so much choice and the range of desserts were plentiful. Would highly recommend this restaurant.

Terrible food, nothing was worth eating. Cant believe I wasted 20 pounds on this. Never going there again!!!

The golden phoenix is one of the best Chinese takeaways in Nottingham, I always order from here every Friday with my family and they also offer a takeaway box which you can pick out what you want from the buffet and put it into your own box. The food is always fresh and the service is always fast and kind. Highly recommend

Really great Chinese restaurant, always busy but I can see why, lots of choice, everything was tasty and excellent service. Highlight was the Korean sticky BBQ chicken.

It is truly a very good place, from the entrance to the exit there is very good service, if you are looking for a buffet I recommend this place, its space is very clean, the food is delicious, the service of the employees is really good, they are cordial people, The super pleasant atmosphere is a 5 out of 5, the bathrooms are super clean, and unlike other places there is a variety of foods to taste, I loved this place Golden Phoenix is ​​a very spacious place designed for all types of people, pets are not accepted in the place, it is very familiar and social. A great little find. The staff are very polite and keep the place spotless. The tables are set out well so you don’t feel squished in. The food is great as well so much to choose from. It’s easy to find and get parked as well. Great value for money

Cracking all you can eat Chinese. Fantastic choice and extremely efficient staff. You did not have to wait long at all for anything to be refilled!

We were looking for a buffet style Chinese restaurant & oh boy did we find a good one. The selection of dishes was better than I have experienced before at other restaurants & the quality of the food was amazing. The restaurant is well furnished, substantial in size and very clean. Enough said, go & try it yourself 👍

I’ve been to a lot of these type of buffets, and golden phoenix food is just average compared to the competition, they don’t do anything great or too bad. They don’t seem to have as much choice as the others and their fresh fruit selection is quite poor. However staff are friendly and building looks nice and there are far worse restaurants out there. So if you really want to go and try it out, my advice go around 6pm, when all the food is still fresh and tasty! 😋 Bon appetite!

I do like the place but everytime I go and leave to come home I am violently sick .and it not for how much I eat because I only have one plate with bits on then a sweet

Food was OK, desert is a joke, you watch the staff literally tipping out cheese cake from a wholesale box onto a plate..no presentation at all..just a heap. staff were mostly OK.. atmosphere?, well its a pub trying to be a Chinese restaurant. £20.99 per head for all you can eat. If you eat a lot of Chinese food, it's for you, if your happy with a normal portion, it's not worth it. Pint of coke is £3.60 so the drivers and kids get stung a bit.

I have Had to edit my original review as we have since visited 3 times and is now by far our favourite Chinese restaurant. Changing from 4star to 5+star ALL the food is just amazing and it's so affordable we don't have to go for special occasions and just go spontaneously it's amazing 😍🤤 Good value for money and a good selection of food (which all tasted lovely) nice friendly staff, Wasn't too busy as we visited on Friday lunch which was actually quite nice as there were no ques at the buffet. Will definitely be going again and again and again 🤣😊

The restaurant is decorated beautifully, merging authentic Chinese and British architecture with traditional Chinese music playing into the background. The staff were very friendly and helpful. For the price, the all you can eat buffet was a very good deal, the food was tasty and they had a wide range of options to suit all tastes. Will definitely be back again soon!

Came here with a big group of people and i am not usually a big eater at all, i can’t even finish one plate of food i get too full. THIS PLACE i ate 5 full plates including the desserts (which are amazing)!! There’s just so much option even for a vegetarian like me. I was worried to go because i wasn’t sure i’ll find enough food without meat in it but the option went above and beyond from already cooked meals ready to be enjoyed to pieces you can mix and match and make into a sort of wrap using the thin “pancakes” or literally anything to your liking, there’s also sushi, lots of actually fresh juicy sweet fruits, the desserts exceeded any expectations i specifically recommend the banana balls coated in sugar, it’s worth going there just to try those glassy sweets in my opinion, along with a bunch of ice cream options and so much more. Lovely staff our empty plates were taken as soon as they were empty, anything we needed they were lovely.

the staff are so rude me and my girlfriends family got kicked out while still eating demanded we pay and leave, where we were sat there was cobwebs everywhere not really hygienic would not recommend.

This was possibly the worst place I’ve ever ate at. When I walked in I knew it was going to be a terrible time but when I was finally seated the server touched my two year old and was very rude telling him to calm down. Moving on the food was stone cold had no flavour and when you don’t want to eat the horrid food they charge you an extra £5 for not having a clean plate. The whole bill for three of us was £51! Which is way too expensive for the quality of food and it looks like it’s been sat there much longer than it should be. In all a horrible time I’ll never go back or ever recommend it to someone.

Booked a table for 8, for 12pm, very friendly staff, efficient on plate collection once people had finished with their plates for more food. Reasonable prices also, will be booking and returning soon

Attempted to go here today after my sons boxing for a treat, to walk in the door be seated then to be told there charging my 10 year old son as adult because of his height! A child what would only eat one plate! It’s absolutely ridiculous that’s how they charge for child on height! It definitely should be on age, I was below the ‘height’ would I have been charged as a child!

First time been. So clean and organised. Felt safe with masks worn at all times apart from eating at table. Utensils to choose food one use only and by only oneself. Then cleaned. Staff were so helpful and polite. Food lovely. Would recommend.

Food wasn’t too bad, but I don’t agree with charging our little girl (11 years old) as an adult because she’s of a certain height? She’s not even that tall only had 1 plate, should definitely go on age not height, do people with dwarfism eat for the same price as a child here? Probably wouldn’t return.

Lovely staff and food. However there were 1 or 2 families that were a tad abrasive... and loud. This is not a fault of the lovely environment created by the staff.

Only takeaway but never been let down with the excellent quality of food.

Food was amazing, with a heavy choice of meat options. I stuck to my favorites shredded chicken, duck, lemon chicken and chicken balls. Varied rice and noodles also with desert options and ice cream machine. Staff were very polite and happy to make conversation with you. You can tell that they put a lot of effort into the Golden Phoenix. Planning on returning very soon!!

Very busy as it was a Sunday. The food was excellent, fresh with a brilliant choice. Can't wait to go there again.

Came back in July and was really impressed. So much so we decided to come again today for 12pm lunch. I thought that there maybe less food with it being lunchtime but it didn't disappoint. There was still a huge array of different foods, fruits and desserts. The gentleman that was serving us said that he had only recently joined the team. He was brilliant and couldn't have asked for a nicer person. He was very attentive and always on hand without keeping us waiting for anything. Thank you so much Golden Phoenix, you are all amazing and will look forward to our next visit.

Complained to us that my 2 year old grandson was disturbing their other customers. He cried for a very short period. Not at all happy with the staff and told them so. The restaurant is supposed to be child friendly. I mean they charged for him to eat. Really bad customer service.

Like school dinner hall. To busy and very very slow service for drinks. Some of the Food was ok I guess but really badly set up. Didn't even know till after we had eaten you could have things cooked to your liking if asked. We've had much much better Chinese elsewhere (I wont mention where out of respect) Was impossible to park to. Overall experience was disappointing considering we were there from a recommendation. Wont be returning again.

Very very bad food was not hot just loop warm me and my fiance had reallybad belly axhe and my fiance was sick do not eat here. Rang up to complain and the women very rude and told us they had no other complaints and said bye and put the phone down very rude and food nasty DO NOT EAT HERE !!!

Always clean, nice food & plenty to choose from

Very clean food area and the food is lovely however, NOT child friendly. If your baby isn't eating take your pushchair otherwise you will be charged £3-£4 (depending how they feel - we were originally told £4 then it was changed to £3) for your baby to sit in the restaurants highchair that hasnt been thoroughly cleaned. Also if your baby happens to steal a chip off your plate and the manager sees you will be charged for them to eat! My baby started crying ONCE when I passed him to his father whilst I ate and we were told to take him in the garden to quieten him or just take him for a walk several times by the manager...it seemed there was zero tolerance for babies who actually sometimes cry! Toilets were fine but no toilet paper in one. Only given 3 stars because the food was nice but for £17.99 per head and to be constantly watched and told how to manage my baby who had only made noise once, it is not worth it and unfortunately I will not be visiting again or recommending to any families with small children.

Highly disappointed with the service we received I brought family there as we would be regular users and the service given was terrible to the point my family member who had come from abroad has stated they would never go back if visiting again. Constantly watched while eating our food the children were not welcomed at all. To the point a family member got asked by managers to go walk the baby outside to stop them crying absolutely out of order considering babies cry. Very very disappointed with the service we received and unfortunately will not recommend again and certainly will not return again. Very let down. 2 stars considering food was great but we got rushed out the door so couldn't truly enjoy it.
