Golden Palace in Rother

This used to be our favourite Chinese takeaway. We recommended it to everyone. So tonight we ordered for delivery and were really looking forward to our meal. What a disappointment! Day dishes, all padded out with a lot of vegetables. We thought we had ordered plain boiled rice instead of egg fred rice, so tiny was the amount of egg in that dish. Our dinner actually became a game... hunt the cashew nut in the chicken with cashew nuts with yellow bean sauce!!!! There weren't many. And the delivery charge - £7 for about 4 miles!!!! Time for a rethink.

This takeaway can be very hit and miss. Occasionally it is the best Chinese we have had, and other times it isn't too great. Overall the food is worth the money. Good price for the amount of food you receive. I would recommend this takeaway; however not on a Friday or Saturday night. As these nights you can tell they have a lot of orders and are trying to rush the food.

Ordered was told within the hour. 1 hour an 30 minutes later after a call we received food. Delivery drive was lovely. Food was bland no flavour at all only from the banana fritters. The chips were so soggy you couldn’t even hold them. £70+ wasted. Wouldn’t recommend

Probably one of the worst Chinese meals ever had. The food was greasy and tasteless. Best part of it were the prawn crackers. My meal was king prawn balls hot and sour soup. House chop suey and spring rolls.

i ordered this food here its probs the first and the last time it was such a tiny box with a small portion we bought 3 items that costed us £18.50 on the menu it was different prices and they sent us a new menu wuth the delivery which the prices where higher thsn the other menu, the portion size was so small that not even one person could eat it don't recommend it dont really taste of anything. we usually buy it from a different Chinese restaurant and there food taste good but we wanted to try something new so we tried this restaurant but yea not gonna order again

Very friendly lady who answers the phone , always happy to ask chef if there is something we fancy that isnt on the menu and they always make it for us. Food is always excellent

This was my first time and my last time ordering from here food was lovely but the service utter crap after handing over nearly 70 quid to find out they left out a item from our order leaving a 7 year old disappointed i phoned up spoke to the person who took my order she said she didn't hear it its not on her system but said I got a free bottle of coke I asked can she send it over but wouldn't do that even though her fault not mine shame food was good but if they make mistake tough luck on you

We use this take away regularly! The food is always delicious, fresh and hot! When using their delivery service you are always given a realistic time from them. They are always happy to go the extra mile and add extra to your dishes if you request it! Fast and friendly service every time. I would highly recommend!

Shocking place. The food was terrible. There would have been more chicken on a very small chicken wing than on my order. We paid £20 ish pound for are food and its now in the bin. Never again will I go back. First and last time

I chose this place because of the reviews on Trip Advisor. I wasn’t t sure if it would be as good as the reviews but it was and more. Great choice, excellent service and the food was seriously good. I’d recommend to others and definitely will go there again.....and again.....

We visited here due to the excellent reviews whilst on holiday and we we re not disappointed. We ordered 3 main meals all of which had various tweaks and requests. All meals were excellent and were altered as requested. We drove about 15 minutes for the takeaway and when we got home the food was still piping hot. We even got complimentary spring rolls ! We would certainly recommend this takeaway.

First time I have ordered from The Golden Palace and it certainly will not be the last. What a little gem of a Chinese take away. All the classics but there are a few unusual dishes too. The food is excellent and the quantities are large. I ordered one of the set menus for 3 and it could easily have fed 4, if not 5 adults. Really friendly staff and they do a home delivery service too. It’s tucked out of the way but well worth the drive.

We appreciate how busy they are at the Golden Palace, so a 20 minute drive each way to collect our takeaway is well worth it. The service is always polite and helpful, family run so understand your needs, especially dietary. Then the food is freshly cooked so again it's well worth waiting for freshly cooked food to be prepared. The cost is definitely value for what you are getting, beautifully cooked Chinese food. Thank you Golden Palace 😍 highly recommended if you haven't yet, you must try them out. 😋😘🥂

We have used the Golden Palace many times now and the food is always really good, as it was tonight. To phone at 6.00pm with an order and be advised delivery would be one and a half hours was actually ideal. Then to phone at 8.30 when the food was an hour late and to be told it was on its way was pushing it. But... to then wait until 8.59 (past 9 pm and I would have sent it back) was ridiculous. At 8.30 the food was not on its way. We live 15 minutes tops from the Golden Palace so that was a blatant lie. To be given the excuse it was the Chinese New Year and other restaurants were closed was just not good enough. It was why we phoned at 6 and placed our order... won't be placing another one in a hurry!!!

I have come here a few times and staff a re very friendly. On my last visit I ordered sweet and sour Chicken Balls which was a generous portion and Chicken Chow Mein . The Chow Mein was for my 9 year old son who said it's now his favourite meal. I would certainly recommend this place, i made my order before arriving, food was cooked fresh and was really hot. More than likely see you next week

My first order tonight and without doubt, not my last. The lady on the telephone was extremely helpful and friendly. Sadly they didn't have a debit card payment system via the phone, but was extremely helpful in getting me to pay via PayPal as I had no cash to hand. The food was excellent and delivered piping hot. Ordered last night off of just eat at 6.15pm and arrived by 6.45 on a Saturday night by a very friendly delivery driver...We ordered 4 dishes which were all very nice and good size portions. Have never ordered from here before but certainly will again in the future.

I had a lovely takeaway from Golden Palace my favourite Lamb in blackbean sauce and chicken in lemon sauce I would highly recommend this takeaway my more nicer than the supermarket versions. Keep up the good work

Often disappointed when I order Chinese from takeaway but not from this place used twice now and am impressed..Good vermicelli which is my go to dish on the second occasion very quick delivery hot food and good quality

I gave this place 5 stars in my previous review but on the meal I have just had I would have to give it a minus if it was possible, My takeaway was just horrible, any resemblance to chicken curry had to be coincidental. It was lukewarm and tasted like eating cardboard. Trouble is I don’t know now if I was lucky on my last two visits or unlucky today. I won’t be going back to find out which it was.Just to add there were different people in there today so don’t know if it has changed ownership.

Never had chinese food so bad in my life. Plain chowmien was left over from god knows when. So angry about what we bought i could spit. Never again.

Delivered wrong order , called but staff very rude !! There lose !! Your response is incorrect . “Hot plate” was never mentioned !! Your staff where rude and from order to delivery was 20 mins ( fresh ? ) maybe not . Happy to go elsewhere .

Have used this restaurant now for a few years and the food is great. The service is fast, friendly and orders are delivered on time and are always correct. They are very accommodating when changing items in certain dishes and cater for vegetarians well. Highly recommended.

Have enjoyed several meals from Golden Palace. Very easy online ordering with free delivery and online payment making it a nice and simple process. The food is always tasty and hot and plenty of variety with delicious prawn crackers!

My first experience of this take away which is out of the main town but well worth finding. Excellent, speedy service and the food is plentiful, hot and delicious.

I had a lovely takeaway from Golden Palace last weekend the service and owners are fantastic and the food was lovely much recommended

I tried to order a delivery from here but I tried several times and the phone rang and rang and no one answered. I have used this takeaway before and the food is excellent but was very let down on this occasion. I eventually had to go elsewhere. If they had been forced to close at short notice for some reason they should have put an answer machine message in place so that people knew.

We have just finished our fantastic food that we had delivered. It's the only Chinese we use. Everything is so tasty and the service is brilliant and the staff are so helpful. I highly recommend this place.

We enjoy chinese food on a regular basis, and have tried various establishments in Bexhill, but the Golden Palace in Pebsham is by far one of the best we have found, the food is always of a very high quality, I message Emily on facebook with my order, give her a time and pick it up, I have never had to wait, and deliveries if I am feeling lazy are on time, which for those of us that have waited 'hours' in some cases for food to arrive, is a huge plus point for the Golden Palace. The food is reliable, the service outstanding, and the establishment clean, tidy and welcoming.......It is a credit to Pebsham, and we are happy to recommend it to all.......

I made an order off JustEat and was told my food would arrive within 45 Minutes. After 15 minutes had gone after it was due to be here I rang them to see where it was and all they said my order was not ready to leave and that they where really busy. After my order was over an hour late! I rang and they told me they could not get hold of the driver with my food and that I would have to contact JustEat if I was to get a refund. We where very disappointed as they had some very good offers on there menu, they where not very helpful and did not give me a solution as if it was not there problem. I felt embarrassed for them

I love their handmade dim sum and that is what I order every time as well as the hot and sour soup which is full of ingredients! The delivery guys are always very polite as well. I have been eating dim sum all my life so when I say it is good, it is GOOD! Yum! Really lovely and friendly staff too.

Ordered food that after picking up was clearly gone off. Smelt disgusting and rotten and tasted as bad as it smelt. Ring up and spent 20 minutes arguing about how 10% off my next meal was their way of making it up when j told them no I was told I could have a free egg fried rice, even tho I order house fried rice, if I brought ANOTHER curry. I said no I then told them I would bring the food back for a full refund which they agreed. Upon getting there for my £10 back I was told I could only have £5 back because we had free chicken balls, which we didn't we paid for them. Instead of trying to keep the customer happy and apologising for their mistake they decided to argue in front of other customers and point blank refused to give a full refund I promptly left before a fight started with the arrogant manager who believed he could do no wrong and his food was world class.

Such a great menu, fabulous service & truly go the extra mile! Can not fault them! I really struggle with MSG side effects of thirst etc & have to say never had trouble at all with the food it's fantastic!! I hope the standard is maintained.. Highly recommend

I am a big fan of Chinese food, so when this little gem opened up in my neighbourhood I was keen to try it. The food is always delivered on time (if it's going to be late we get a courtesy call), steaming hot, freshly cooked and absolutely delicious. my partner and I recently decided to try golden palace on a whim, we had been searching for the best local Chinese and so far had no luck, we decided to go a bit further out and try a takeaway that had been suggested to us.. the food was AMAZING, not greasy even in the slightest.. we regularly order from the golden palace and we will not be stopping anytime soon. I love the service and the food. ☺️ p.s my fussy mother who is extremely picky with her Chinese also says it's the best she's ever had❤️

Me and my other half live in Hastings and we loved this other chinese place but sadly they closed down , for months after we went around basically every Chinese shop available in the area trying to find one with the same standards of high quality service and food but sadly they all failed miserably so we decided to broaden our search further out of the area and we found this place which exceeds the high levels of customer service we have and the food is absolutely beautiful we've been coming here ever since our new favourite :) repeat and happy customers

I ve tried various Chinese takeaways over the years, but this one, hand on heart is one of the best I ve tasted. Food is delicious, at a reasonable price. I would recommend anyone living in bexhill or Hastings to go to golden palace for an oriental delight of the taste buds. Deserves to do well. Ten out of ten.

I've moved from Croydon to this area and found this is the best Chinese take away around.I highly recommend golden palace

Had friends round for a takeaway and ordered the set meal for 4, trouble was the starter is only a portion for 2, so phoned them & queried their mistake, turns out it's not a mistake,even though it's a meal for 4, the starter is only for TWO! Had a very heated discussion with them & they are adamant that's what you get, and would not budge, how the heck do you share a portion of 2 ribs, 2 satay chickens and 2 pieces of toast between 4 people,so we had to toss a coin for who got a rib, who got a piece of toast etc. I would recommend that anyone in Pebsham area that wants a Chinese takeaway phones any other Chinese in Bexhill that delivers free, I WILL NOT BE ORDERING FROM THE GOLDEN PALACE EVER AGAIN. sorry to shout but I am absolutely Insensed by their replies when I phoned, it was tough luck matey, and get stuffed was their attitude!

We love dim sum but it's hard to get from Chinese take aways. This is a new one in the area and they have a great selection of dim sum. We phoned to order and decided to try all the dim sum and won ton soup. We collected. The lady at the counter was really lovely. The won ton soup is the best we've ever had. We weren't expecting that so it was a lovely surprise. The dim sum was delicious, all of it. This is our new favourite take away Chinese. It's a new business so I hope they do well.

Went there at short notice by recommendation but did not book, the staff found us the last table. Food was of excellent quality, plenty of each dish. Really enjoyable evening, Certainly would go again but recommend booking.
