Best food ever.. I'm coeliac and they have made extra barbecue chicken, although I had so many to choose from.. Same for my father in lae who is vegan Delicious food and an excellent service. We are definitely going to go back soon.

The starters were really nice, but both mine and my husband's main was incredibly salty and not pleasant. I wouldn't recommend having the cocktails, they are nice but so small!! A mojito in a martini glass! Rip off. I will stick to pop next time. Nice atmosphere and lovely inside , we would visit again to give it another go.

Highly recommended if you like a good curry then you have to try this place.

We went for the sunday buffet. Food was very limited and had clearly been sat for a while with out being replenished. Chicken was literally like rubber. Staff are super friendly though but that's not what you go for.

Recently visited here after indulging in many takeaways delivered. Excellent service, excellent food and a lovely drop of Cobra IPA. What more can you ask for? Thanks all.

The best in Stoke on trent hands down

This was an old pub which has been tastefully converted. Food saved was lovely on this occasion we ordered a little bit too much or eyes bigger than or belly, to my surprise they parcelled up what we haven't eaten 2 take home. Reasonably priced and worth a visit.

We had a Thursday night curry, buy one get one free. Garlic bread and pilau rice, cobra beer, could not have been better.

We went here for the September 2022 Two for One curry offer (only available mid week). We both had the speciality Tawa Tak-a-Tak curry, one lamb and one paneer. The curry comes out on a hot skillet and served on top of a bed of sizzling onions and peppers. Both dishes were well cooked, extremely tasty and a very good portion size. The meat in the lamb dish was lean and tender. We also had sides of coconut rice and chips to share, both cooked nicely. I have a big appetite and I was very full afterwards. The lager is reasonably priced. Service is very good. Overall, a very nice visit and meal. Recommended.

Always a pleasure to dine here. Friendly staff and excellent food. Was here recently for my birthday party and staff made it excellent and smooth, even though it was a party of 20+. This is my go-to family outing restaurant. We all love it here.

Spent time reading great reviews so studied menu, placed and paid for an order. Then received a call to say order had been cancelled as we lived 5.2 miles away and the driver could only cope with a 4 mile radius. Such a shame for the driver as we always give a large tip!! Wish our time hadn't been wasted and we could have added to the great reviews but it's good to know a business is doing well in these hard times !

Lovely meal. Both my wife and me had great meals. We went for the Indian side of the menu tonight and was not disappointed. You can also have English food here as well on the reverse side of the menu which does not happen in many places. A lovely clean place with very friendly and pleasant staff. Also has a great range of beers to choose from. An all around brilliant place. Went again last night (19th of March 2022) and it's still a lovely place all as before. This time a family meal for six people. We were all happy with our meals and service we received. The place was pretty full from 6pm when we arrived until 7.30pm when we left, so a very popular restaurant.

Enjoyed a great birthday meal this evening for our party of 16. We were able to pre-order our meals and set up separate tabs to pay. The food was delicious and the service was excellent. Happy to recommend.

I ordered a takeout for my family and myself, when the food arrived after about 50 minutes it was piping hot and was exactly the same as dining in. The food was incredible, I tried the salt and pepper squid for the first time and it was delicious! definitely recommend the Golden Keg.

Good first experience. The former Pub building doesn't quite work, too open plan. Also the menu looks like something from a sizzler pub with a whole side dedicated to English food. So not a good start... But go behind the first impressions and it gets better. From the friendly and attentive staff to the freshly prepared food, it was a positive experience. Perhaps better for groups than date night, good parking and sensibly priced. Just been back (2 weeks later than first review) and again the staff and food excellent. The chicken dishes are excellent and the homemade Paneer also.

Clean, nice decor, space to just sit & have a drink whilst people wait for a takeaway. Staff attentive & polite. I had the chicken tak-a-tak & there was loads of chicken. Garlic & coriander naan was lovely (not too thick, but flavoursome). The £11.99 mixed starter was great. Could possibly be a sharing starter for 3 - 4, not a large starter for 2. Would recommend this place if you live within 5 miles.

The food was outstanding as always, and the service was quick with very polite staff. The takatak and grills are the best we have had, and the street food chatpatta starter was lovely. 10/10 would recommend!

Just to good to miss ,would eat at this brill Indian 7 days a week ,never getting fed up of this food .All chicken dishes are out of this world just try as maney as you can and you will see for yourself how good they are LOVE IT.?

Again we visited this restaurant for are xmas lunch it was help yourself to a very good menu plenty of Indian starters and salad currys and carvery to eat as much as you want .it was busy but not overcrowded . The waitresses were very attentive and polite very friendly .Cant fault the food here excellent so pleased its on our doorstep they are a great team we thank you very much

Came over from Norfolk and took my mum and dad out to celebrate my mums birthday. Lovely place, great food and very friendly staff. They even sang happy birthday to my mum and gave her a piece of cake as well. Shame they dont deliver to Norfolk

I go with family for the Sunday buffet which has a great choice of Indian starters and a Carvery. They have implemented a table service instead of help yourself whilst Covid is happening which is a reassurance.

Very disappointing experience. Felt suspicious when food arrived less than 15minutes acter ordering. My curry was basically tomato soup with some chicken in it. A few cashews, a few almonds… really bad performance!

Delicious food, clearly freshly prepared and the best peshwari naan I’ve ever had (we had the golden peshwari). We went with our 1 and 6 year old children and we were made to feel comfortable and welcomed. Service was excellent And good value for money. Would definitely recommend.

Had a takeaway from here whilst visiting friends in the area. Ordered over the phone and headed over for a drink whilst waiting. Really good service, very friendly and welcoming . The food was very good, all dishes packed with flavour and a perfect chilli heat level.Most curry houses are pretty average and cooked with way to much oil. It doesn’t apply to the golden keg. Excellent quality food.

Was expecting a Sunday roast, instead we had an Indian buffet, service excellent, food excellent, was expecting the place to be packed but was not even quarter full. Update the decor and go back to a Sunday roast for Sunday lunch 👍

Love the atmosphere and food here. Delicious menu offered. Can highly recommend the fish pakora, lamb saag. Staff friendly kept up-to-date on any waiting time between courses.

Went for Sunday lunch today and a usual all the food lovely .They are still serving food but you can still have as much as you require .Didnt have to wait the starters came very quickly saying they had got a birthday party in .Really enjoyed our lunch thank you guys see you soon .

Ordered a takeout for myself and my family. The food was just as good as in the restaurant, was still hot when it arrived and tasted just as fresh and good. Will definitely order again.

I can’t believe a restaurant that serves delicious freshly prepared food in generous portions can get the service so wrong.Starters took an hour then a 45 minute wait for mains. Ridiculous.They couldn’t even deliver the bill, after another long wait I had to go to the bar to pay.Such a shame as I would love to go back for the food but the wait wound me up too much to do it again.5 star food and zero star service

Bit grotty inside, needs clean, some doing up. Food very nice, took maybe 30 to 40 minutes after starters to arrive though. Would be 4 stars if mains was quicker. Good prices.

We decided late Saturday that we didn't fancy cooking so booked into the Golden Keg.We arrived at 6.45 and it was busy pretty all the time we were there.As you can see from our bill (attached) we ordered far too much food! There were too many dishes we hadn't heard of before.(We were offered to take home what we didn't eat but declined the offer)All food was tasty and fish and chips was perfect for the mother in law that doesn't rush after curry.As an "ex pub" there is a full bar with draft beers, the plum porter was a pleasant change to the usual Cobra on an Indian.It's clean and tidy but not the most luxurious of restaurants. Staff were friendly and overall it was a good experience.I am sure we will return at some point and next time order less!

Myself and my girlfriend visited stoke on trent for a weekend away after our hard work at university this year. We decided to visit the golden keg for a meal after visiting alton towers for the full day. The staff and management are very friendly and so welcoming. The food is phenomenal and I mean it was phenomenal that even Scottish Indian restaurents have been beaten by a small little gem that is only a 5 minute drive from the hotel (Weathervey hotel). The prices are perfect for the amazing quality of food that they deliver. Me and my girlfriend are ecstatic after tonight's meal that we are looking forward to coming back in the near future.

The best curry around, friends and family where seriously impressed, waiters where all very sociable and lovely, will definitely be returning. Bravo to the chefs and staff!!!
