This used to be an awesome take away . Not so great now I’m Afraid . There is little option for Chinese food in cowes which is a shame

Really disappointing meal. Special fried rice was lacking any ingredients other than rice. Not even peas! Beef Kung Po was gelatinous and inedible. Noodles were poor quality. Crispy duck was ok but the pancakes were terrible. I cannot recommend this place. It used to be good but this is the second disappointing meal in two months.

Great! Had take away which was delivered quickly fab food. Spare ribs were the best. Friendly service too.

Amazing food! Flavorful and delicious i’m not quite sure why others were slandering. The service was amazing, and the woman was lovely. Beautifuly asthetic place!

Have ordered from golden dragon for many years, sad to say this will be the last time, noddles bland and no flavour, chicken over cooked, ribs very fatty and staff answered phone, yet again, stating they were with someone and putting phone on the side! If you are calling from a mobile, This would be very costly, if you cannot take the order, don’t answer the phone, Soddy service and poor quality food. Such a shame as was soo n ie before

I am local and normally order from the other chinese in Cowes but sadly it was closed. This has to be the worst chinese curry I have ever had- thick, gloopy 'gravy' sauce that tasted of flour and salt and the meat looked like it had been hanging around for goodness knows how long! I won't be going back and fear that I might have an appointment with the toilet later!

Had a weekend trip to Isle of Wight and ordered crispy shredded beef, salt and pepper chicken and chicken chow main, the taste was great and pipping hot. Lovely service. Really happy 5 stars

Firstly the food arrived cold. The Chinese chicken curry was awful, it tasted like it had been sat around for ages and was so thick, took a couple mouthfuls and couldn’t eat anymore. The ribs were just fat and no meat. The pancake rolls batter was so thick and sickening. Also had salt and pepper chicken and the chicken was so rubbery my jaw hurt from trying to chew through it. The chips were a soggy mess. The only thing worth eating was the rice. I will never be ordering from here again. Such a disappointment.

Used the restaurant on the way back to the hotel after a day out in the town, service excellent and tmely, chicken dishes very good, plentiful and tasty.

Placed order, told to come back after 30 minutes, came back, told to wait outside and I would be called, they didnt ask for my name, I had to remind them. Waited another 15, went in and chased again, then they took some notice, realised the delivery driver had took the order, then tried to palm us off saying it had only been 5 minutes. We saw him leave whilst waiting nearly 15 minutes earlier. No apology, no offer or re-cooking fresh food. Only told to calm down, with the server reiterating, "I didn't take the order". Insisted on refund, still waiting for the funds to show in my account (DO NOT PAY UPFRONT). Left without food.

Waited 2 hours for our takeaway. Called after an hour and a half asking where it was, and they said it was just coming out of the kitchen after originally being told it would be a 45 minute wait for our food...

Not many Chinese places are as good as my local, which is in Liverpool so honestly I've never written a better review for somewhere. This place was very much on point on food and service. Chicken and beef was cooked to perfection. Great chow main and kung po. Staff on front friendly and accepting. Food tasted great and was decent value.Will come again on a trip to the island when I see my famiily 5 full stars!

Had a Chicken Chow Mein from here while on holiday. Lovely friendly person on reception. Food came within 5 minutes. Having not had a Chinese for ages it was so yummy that I had another one later in the week.

Great hot food, very good flavours and good value. Superb crispy shredded beef, nice and spicy. Quick to order and collect.

Grateful for their efficient service during lockdown. And a really terrific Crispy Duck. Saved us from going bonkers.

Average Chinese takeaway. Nothing special but not unpleasant. Delivered quickly and still hot. Not bad price.

Order 3 dishes after making sure that they could deal with my food allergy, which they could, the lady who toke my order was Very helpful, made sure the kitchen knew about my allergy, she wrote it down and went in the kitchen and also told them about it. The Food was nice and hot, it came quite quick.

Always have great food here. Would definitely recommend it! Also like to add the people that answer the phones to take orders very polite and professional, and delivery drives always polite :)

Had a broad range of dishes for 5 people. All were good. Portion size was good. We ordered by phone and then walked the 5 mins to collect it. We waited around 15 mins to collect, in that time delivery driver came and went with a few orders, the phone was busy and a couple of other people came in to order - and this was a Sunday night - good sign the food is good.

Got to credit the team here, 01:30 and the lady taking the orders was very polite and patient. Good food and quick service. It isn’t going to win a Michelin star, but at 01:30 u are looking for great value for money and filling. This met the criteria and the crew loved it. Well done.

Disappoint, I’m a vegetarian. Order the mixed vegetable curry, and when it arrived it came with the number of the mixed vegetable curry, but contained mixed meat. Being unsure I made my other half try it first who confirmed it was beef and chicken.

Ordered at the desk and was served within twenty minutes. Pleasent guy took ordered the extra hot curry was just that and greatly enjoyed. Sweet n sour king prawn was up to standard and rices were good portions.

Delivered earlier than estimated to Thorness Holiday Park ( an isolated place). Order taken by friendly helpful person, as was the delivery man. Food was delivered hot and was delicious, very reasonably priced too.

Nice, fast and friendly service. We order chicken balls, prawn crackers and vegetable spring rolls, food delicious and not too greasy, for a chinese take away. well recomend it.

Lovely takeaway who were nice enough to deliver to Thorness Bay Caravan Holiday Park for us. Lovely food, which was piping hot still on arrival. Helpful guy who answered the phone and answered my questions. Pancake rolls were delicious as was the chicken chow mein.

Estábamos trabajando en el festival en otras palabras, después de que había hecho allí era una larga espera hasta que pudimos tomar el ferry. buscamos en Google para el restaurante chino más cercano y vi la más cercana estaba en Ryde. Nos dieron una mesa directamente, el servicio era bueno y la comida era excelente, nos lo pasamos muy bien, recomiendo este restaurante para una comida china muy bueno.

Excellent takeaway food delivered on time and still piping hot,the king prawn with ginger and spring onion was as good as any I've tasted an all round great experience

We have tried many takeaways on the Isle of Wight but this has got to be the best Chinese takeaway by far, well cooked and very tasty, pleasant staff and reasonable prices.

Se han mudado a la zona y estaba ansioso por encontrar un buen restaurante chino como mi favorito para llevar. Yo puse una orden con el dragón dorado y me dijeron que no iba a ser de 45 minutos, así que esperamos con impaciencia que la fecha de llegada. Finalmente llegamos después de más de una hora y cuando me senté a comer realiased la comida estaba fría de piedra! Llamé de inmediato para protestar y ni siquiera se disculparon. Se ofrecieron a enviar otra, pero después de una hora de espera ya la primera no te gusta esperar otra hora. Así que pedí una devolución. Me dijeron que el paquete de comida en la bolsa y alguien sería a recoger y darme un reembolso. Esperé 30 minutos y ninguna señal llamado de nuevo. Me dijeron que el conductor acababa de salir y estaba entrando directamente a mí. 20 minutos más tarde y todavía no había señal para que otra llamada. Me dijeron que el conductor era efectuar las entregas. Me explico, me dijeron que se suponía iban a ser directamente a mí. De nuevo no se disculpó y me dijo que me. Finalmente otro 15 minutos más tarde de que finalmente llegó con un reembolso. Servicio horrible. No pedir de nuevo!

Visited for first and last time. Food tasted bland and smelled awful. The beef dish used very cheap meat and was totally inedible. The vegetable dish was a peculiar pink colour?? and also had a funy smell. We threw it all in the bin.

We picked up our evening meal here for a quiet night in. Ordered prawn toast, vegetable spring rolls, chicken in green pepper and black bean, char siu, and egg fried rice.The food was well cooked, the sauces tasty, the flavours well balanced. Nice food and the price was fair.

Ordered a takeaway yesterday, specifically asked certain dishes with no mushrooms and peas, as my partner is allergic to this. And to our surprise they ignored these requests. I like to remind everyone this has happened a twice already. We both thought it was just a busy time, these things happen . This time they put bigger chunks of mushroom and more peas in. We waited up to 2 hours for this meal to be delivered. When we complained we were asked if we had touched any of the food. We later then realised we had second hand food where there was bits of other dishes on our food.We work hard all week and was looking forward to our meal. Customer service was awful, being told we had to exchange our food before a refund.No apology what so ever so Discussing place never eat here again. Number one wok in Newport is the new Chinese for Cowes in my opinion and sure other people will soon realise this.

A good chinese, very good selection, home deliveries, we have had many good and varied meals from here

Everywhere I travel in the world I will always order my favourite dish from a local chinese with sometimes mixed results, I ordered chinese roast pork (char sui) from the golden dragon and it was perfect, melted in my mouth and the chicken chow mein was delicious too, thank you guys for providing me with this wonderful meal, I will be back soon

Lovely hot, fresh Chinese food at a reasonable price. Was very impressed with every dish that came. Do not know if they do eat in as we order ours over the phone. Highly recommended.

Four of us went there twice in three days as the food was so good. Great choice of menu, very friendly staff and good sized portions

As a regular was disappointed to receive a meal that was swimming in grease and that did not appear to be fresh. Today have a stomach ache and not convinced it is from anything else. Sad to say, won't be back. Can't afford another day in bed.

We had been out all day travelling around the Island and really didn't feel like eating out so we ordered food in - this was excellent Chinese food with very large portions, we struggled to finish it all!

Lovely food always hot when we have it delivered. Curry sauce and sweet and sour sauce best ever! I don't like any other Chinese

I am quite a fussy eater and my fav from chinese is always chicken chow mein, sweet & sour chicken balls and curry the only thing i dont like is the chicken in the curry as it seems a little rubbery, but its different chicken in the chow mein and so usually i get chow mein with curry sauce, best of both worlds! Good service, friendly staff, we might as well be on name basis

I know its new years eve, but after a 2 and a half hour wait, the chicken fried rice was BURNT, and was so disappointed. Wont be using them again

We stopped by in Golden Dragon on our way back from East Cowes as we wanted a take away dinner. The place looks clean and the staff is very friendly and efficient. We were the only customers at that moment and our order was ready really quickly. We ordered three mains (breaded chicken balls with sweet and sour sauce, chicken satay skewers and pork shui), and two sides (rice and noodles). We also asked for soy sauce and were given a whole bottle even though we didn't really want that much. I couldn't work out if/how much we were charged for it but the whole bill was around £22 which was reasonable because the main portions were really big. The rice and noodles were of average size in my view. With all of the food we (2 adults and a child) ate twice and the second time was not just left overs but full meal - that's how big it was. Overall the food tasted very good, the satay skewers were delicious, a bit spicy which I love. The chicken balls were served with a pot of sweet and sour sauce which I found a bit on the sour side but nevertheless was good. My only small note would be that the rice was a bit dry and the chicken balls were just a bit underdone inside which is not to my taste but it wasn't too much and I enjoyed the food a lot. I'd love to go back to Cowes in general and to Golden dragon! Enjoy!

I wont get any other takeaway now. Its never greasy. Its fresh and red hot when i get it delivered to my house. Fast service. Great choice on the menu.Freindly staff.

We have had a Takeaway from here twice now and each time the food is just so tasty fresh and great value for money the lady who delivered the food is very nice and the food is very fresh look forward to our next meal

Used the Golden Dragon take-away service following a recommendation from the staff at Gunard Pines holiday park (where we were staying for a 4 night break).Now Chinese take-aways can be variable so we knew we were taking a chance but we followed the recommendation and were so glad we did.We were a party of 11 (of all ages) so placed a quite large order. We were quoted 30 minutes for delivery (right to our chalet in the park) and bang on 30 minutes the delivery driver arrived.The food was truly excellent quality and clearly freshly prepared. A bit like the "poached egg test" often fails a breakfast restaurant the "sweet and sour chicken ball test" tells you a lot about a Chinese take-away. These, like everything else were perfect and all 11 of us enjoyed a great family meal as the starter for a great family evening.
