Golden City in Crawley

I was served by Michael, he greeted me and was very kind. He suggested crispy chilli chicken, it was amazing. 5/5 would definitely come again!

Without a doubt - the best Chinese takeaway in Crawley. Can't go wrong ordering from here.

I tried Veg Chowmein over there. It was prepared quickly. The packing was nice. The quantity was also good. Tasted so well and lots of veggies in it.

Not sure what happened with the banana fritters tonight, normally so so good, but the banana was not only back on the outside, but was fully black on the inside. So bad, it couldn't be eaten.

Great Food! Always speedy, and delivery always on time. I only gave 4/5 as unfortunately you are now closed 2 days a week.

Had many meals from here but the app now states I'm too far away for delivery and pickup ... I'm a 5 min walk away

The food i ordered looked so utterly delicious and couldn't wait to get stuck in! When it arrived, it was hot and delivered right on time by a very friendly delivery woman. The fried bean curd in black bean sauce was the best dish i had, along with the mushroom chow mein wich i enjoyed very much. And, the satay sauce was so incredibly tasty that It had me wanting more. I'll be looking forward to trying out other dishes on the menu for next time. All in all.. Great service and great Chinese food! 😋👍

We ordered for the first time tonight and was very impressed. Lovely food and portion sizes.

Went by reviews totally disappointed. Pictures looked amazing but real food was dry, no sauce in noodles, crispy chilli chicken was definitely crispy tasted like few days old. Took barely 5 minutes to cook. Definitely not fresh! Back to Lotus House takeaway.

We ordered and paid on line and the food was ready when we went to collect (we live a bit to far away for delivery out in the sticks) the food was really great - the place was very clean with staff wearing full protection and PPE, with screens over the counter etc - best we have had during lockdown! So easy to order on line instead of trying to get through on the phone - nearby parking - highly recommend using this takeaway

Always go here for Chinese, even though we have one closer, we always prefer golden city. The food is always yummy and 9 times out of 10 they come before their delivery estimation.

I have used this particular Chinese takeaway several times, it never fails, the food is lovely and hot and very tasty. The team are always helpful and friendly, the shop is always clean.

We normally get Chinese take aways from Bewbush when in Crawley, but as my Mother in Law luves in West Green we thought we'd give the Golden City a whirl for a change. We were certainly not disappointed! I had my favourite (which for some reason, not many Chinese restaurants or take aways, do), chicken Cashew in Yellow Bean sauce, with Singapore Fried Rice and my wife and mum in law had Chicken Fried Rice and Curry Sauce. The meal arrived bang on the allocated time, was very reasonably priced and was very, very tasty. We will certainly make it our Chinese of choice in Crawley. All I can say about the few 1 star reviews is that they must have called on a very bad day, the vast majority and my personal experience is to be believed!

I use this place reasonably regularly and always pleased with the end result. Recently through lockdown I have used these guys and the sevice and more importantly the quality is the same.

Very accommodating staff. Great food. Quick service. Can't praise them enough.

Dry fried ribs were bland and all our 3 chicken dishes where awful, the chicken is tasteless which they try to hide with excessive chilli. The chicken is also bloated and watery; leading us to think it has been artificially treated to make the chicken go further. It tastes like foam rubber cooked in chicken stock.

Fantastic. Could eat from there every night given the chance. Try the salt chilli prawns. LOVELY JUBBLY. ! !

Best Chinese takeout in Crawley by far! Have tried quite a few of the others and to be fair some of them aren’t bad, but this is the one is undoubtedly the best!

Food never disappoints, the customer service is great, they always accommodate for fussy eaters (No onions, ect...) No problems with the orders!! One thing I would say is can seem a little pricey, but you do get enough food to last the next day too. So...

Best Chinese so tasty and not oily

I'm posting this because Google maps has suggested an 82% match, suggesting I might want to place an order. I live 25 miles away, haven't been to Crawley and haven't expressed my any interest in Chinese food. I hope you aren't paying for these ads. BTW, I rather think the food would be past it's best after the 50min drive and driving a moped up the M 23 is illegal.

Hello. I had chicken curry special rice .and vegetarian Quorn..the chicken curry and special rice was so salty..it was burning my mouth. I had to throw away. Not good at all .

I don't usually eat Chinese, though came across this place after reading a review. I was pleasantly surprised when seeing that GC not only cook using Quorn, but Nam behind the counter adamantly told me that they use a completely different wok, utensils etc to prepare the food. I had no reason to dis-count this, so ordered a mock chicken chow mein, and egg fried rice. Verdict ...Let's put it this way, I shall be returning to check out the rest of the veggie menu

Wow!! Amazing food, amazing service and speedy delivery. This was our 1st order and the Thai green curry was full of flavour and not too spicy, the rice was perfect and not hard like most Chinese restaurants and the foo young for once tasted of egg rather than fish again unlike most places! Excellent place and will definitely be ordering from them again soon. Thank you

Visited today girl behind counter screwed up order Chinese .male no better had to reorder and wait ordered special rice dish advertised as large very small in comparison to other Chinese takeaways would hate to order normal meal you would need to order 2 don't waste your money best thing it can do is shut down

5 stars! I had egg fried rice,chicken chow mein, spring rolls and sweet n sour chicken balls..it was gorgeous best i've eaten in Crawley to date as did my friends all agreed. They we're quicker at delivering to others i've used, came in nice plastic containers. Anyone that reads this review i hope your experience is as good :-)

I have lived in Crawley all my life and can safely say I have tried every Chinese take-away there is here. Golden City is by far the best quality around. We tried this restaurant when our old favourite was shut for refurbishment and haven't looked back ! Absolutely fabulous !!

I keep going back to this place, because the food is very good, and the service is very quick.

My first time ordering... Lovely food, lovely portions, lovely and hot! My son said it was the best chicken fried rice and curry sauce he's ever had... And we've tried a fair few chinese takeaways in crawley 😀

Tried here for a change from my usual. So glad I did. Great dishes delivered free and piping hot. Defo using them again. Free prawn crackers and fortune cookies.

My wife and I thought we would try Golden City for a take away as opposed to our usual Chinese take away as we had read good reviews, unfortunately we were disappointed with what we ordered, maybe it's just us but felt the flavouring was not like any other Chinese, the rice was more like couscous and hardly fried, the beef was very chewy and the sauce was quite bland, sorry but not for us! Ended up throwing in the bin.

My mate told me about a new Chinese takeaway I always went to new dragon glad I changed best take away I have ever had they can basically go anything you ask my friend can't eat noodles but wanted chicken chow main they done just the bean sprouts like to say best takeaway ever always going back there and never changing my mind

Had another yummy take away from these guys! Lovely tasty food, not greasy like others staff so friendly and lovely. Tonight I accidentally gave the driver too much money, They called me to let me know the driver was on his way over to give it back (£10) They were very honest (they could of kept it, no one would of been any the wiser.) I would recommend this company, I certainly won't go anywhere else!!
