GNH Bar in Haringey

I went there before catching a train at St Pancras and didn’t know what to expect but I was not disappointed. The staff is very nice and the food was great, and not that expensive compared to some other restaurants in London. I will come back!

Excellent, lovely staff thanks (Diego). Really complimentary, speedy service. Lovely place to stop for little drink. Not extortionate for location/quality. Asked for a drink that wasn’t on the menu and they couldn’t be more obliging. Nevertheless the menu was nice and varied. Actually meant to go to another bar, but glad I came here instead!Absolutely would visit again.

Estuve aquí antes del año pasado y tuve el Bloody Mary más fabuloso, así que con una escala rápida mientras esperaba el tren, recomendé que fuéramos a este bar nuevamente.Bien. . . . . . . . . . . . nos dijeron que tomáramos asiento, nadie vino durante años a pesar de hacer un gesto para pedir el servicio, cuando finalmente se le dijo a un camarero que viniera a preguntarnos, pedimos ver el menú ya que no había nada en la mesa excepto un letrero de El chico literalmente nos resopló a través de su máscara facial y se encogió de hombros y finalmente regresó y nos dio un código QR. . . . . . no podíamos creer su actitud. ¡Así que nos fuimos!Si no quiere trabajar en servicio al cliente, no lo haga.¡No hagas tan obvio que no quieres estar allí sirviendo a la gente!

30 minutes to be asked if I wanted a drink! When the drink was served glass had signs of lipstick! Having told the waiter, I was met with... " no lipstick just dirt... I'll get you another one!.." The situation was made slightly better when the Manager came acknowledge the mistake (and lipstick) and did not charge for the drink. I was waiting for family to join but told them not to bother and went elsewhere

Really enjoyed the atmosphere and small plates. Lovely decor and music. However my waiter Felipe, Tall with a long beard in a pony tail, said NOT ONE WORD, to me. Not when I sat down, or ordered, or asked for the bill. Unacceptable to then add a service charge.

I had lunch at GNH Bar and I have to say that the pan-fried Gnocchi with mushrooms, basil, spinach and chestnut was well cooked and tasty. As a dessert, I had a coconut rice pudding and it was good. 33 GBP service included.

Tuve que preguntar un par de veces ya que el pobre barman no podía escucharnos correctamente debido a la música demasiado alta. Me sirvieron un té de jazmín. Tuve que pedir nuevamente una verbena de limón. Finalmente conseguí la verbena de limón. Cuando comenzamos nuestras bebidas, en lugar de esperar hasta que pedimos pagar, el barman nos empujó la máquina de tarjetas ordenándonos que pagáramos. Luego nos dimos cuenta de que nos habían cobrado 1 GBP. 69 'cargo por servicio discrecional'. Es muy frustrante, ya que felizmente habríamos dejado una propina mucho más grande que eso si el servicio hubiera sido mejor. Estaba claramente gruñón y el gerente me seguía dando señales de aprobación, pero él nunca vino y me preguntó cuál era el problema. Tengo la sensación de que tienen algunos problemas en este momento y que el personal simplemente no se lleva bien, ya que el barman francés parecía bastante infeliz.

Popped in for a quick breakfast before travelling on Eurostar, nice clean bar, very busy as expected, did not stay long as we had to catch the train.

I sat with a friend having a glass of wine and a catch up at about 4.30pm yesterday when suddenly the lights were dimmed and the volume turned up on the already loud rock music. I asked a passing waiter if he could turn it down again as we were trying to have a talk. He said the boss wanted it that way and there was nothing he could do. I said 'ok I'll talk to the manager' and he said 'I am the manager, the boss is the owner'. I said 'ok could you turn it down then', he said 'If you don't like it you can go drink somewhere else'. I couldn't believe my ears. I said 'What?' and he said, 'you can either go upstairs or go find somewhere else' and walked off. Never again!

Popped in for a drink to be served by a Barman, Michael, who seemed most miserable and a bit condescending to be frank. So much so when the card machine asked me to add a gratuity I made sure I didn’t, never really been asked to pay extra for a basic bar service in the UK before either. I looked at my bill this morning and I have had the pleasure of paying 12.5%!

We stopped for a coffee before boarding our train.Nice outside seating area with wall heaters.We ordered two cappuccino which on arrival were smaller than what we normally have and extortionately priced at £4.50 each then they have the cheek to add a “discretionary service charge” of 12.50% making two mediocre coffees cost £10.13! Won’t be going back, major chains far better coffee and more realistic prices, didn’t mind paying those prices in Venice but not next to train stations and taxi ranks.

Called in after a business meeting on Thursday lunchtime 10th October. Five bar staff from diverse ethnic backgrounds. Very friendly like a family run business. Food Drinks and atmosphere second to none. Lovely décor and attention to detail everywhere including toilets. Fully recommend if you are at King's Cross Station.

small, quaint bar, not a pub. there are tables outside, so if the weather permits, you can do some great people watching, as they come and go from King's cross. they have a fun menu of drinks and the bartenders enjoy putting on a show.

Just went for a coffee. Great location sitting outside in the sun. Service friendly but on the slow side. Coffee middling quality and outrageously priced: £5.06 for a flat white. Don't know anything about the hotel.

Tan pronto como llegaste a la entrada del bar, fue como retroceder en el tiempo y el estilo. Con peltre, cristal y madera de nogal que adornan el lugar, y una cálida bienvenida por parte de personal capacitado, fue un verdadero guiño al patrimonio de las locomotoras.

Mi amigo y yo visitamos hace un par de días. Tuvimos que esperar un rato para sentarnos cuando había muchas mesas vacías. El personal claramente nos vio pero estaban demasiado ocupados charlando. Había alrededor de 3 a 4 miembros del personal, incluido lo que parecía ser el gerente (llevaba un vestido, cabello rubio y tatuajes en la pierna), claramente nos vio pero aún así nos ignoró. Después de un tiempo, uno de los miembros del personal masculino finalmente nos dijo que podíamos sentarnos en cualquier lugar que nos gustara.

With it's massively over-sized chandeliers, wood paneled walls, strategically placed mirrors and alcoves decked with high-back leather padding, walking into the GNH bar is like stepping back in time. It's unashamedly glamorous and all the better for it.

The bar is a great looking place but service is non existent. People next to us disputed their order and the waiter argued they were wrong! No table service unless you shouted or went to the bar. An excellent Sancerre. There are other bar options in the area.

I loved it. Great place to relax and have a good chat with friends on a Saturday night. Staff was very friendly and extremely professional. I'm sure I'll be back to try the rest of the cocktails. :)

Poped in for a drink before going back to the hotel. The cocktail I had was amazing the bar man was great at what he did but make no mistake this is a very expensive posh bar. The decor was second to none so visit for a treat.

Well positioned bar on station concourse. Prices were not the cheapest on the planet but reasonable given the location. Staff were friendly, drinks selection wide and atmosphere relaxed. A good base to arrange to meet travelling companions.

Staying at the hotel for a night, we ate in the bar at lunchtime and in the evening after theatre. The staff were lovely and so was the food. We had a number of small plates.

Popped into the GNH bar (Kings X station) whilst waiting for a train. The bar was busy, but the staff were very attentive. I was served by Matej M who was incredibly quick yet courteous, a definite credit to GNH. Would recommend this as a go-to bar without hesitation, even if you’re not catching a train!

We often visit the GNH bar whilst waiting for a train. Literally a couple of minutes from the platforms, it’s much better relaxing here than hanging around of the busy concourse at Kings Cross.

Next to Kings Cross the GNH Barvis a cosy place for drinks, coctails, whiskey and so forth and good bistro food. I had the chicken burger which was very tasty with excellent french fries. The service is good and very friendly. The whole interior of the bar is cosy but also very stylish.

I wouldn’t bother going here. I dislike places that make you feel unwelcome. The doorman wouldn’t let me use the WC

Perfect location for Kings Cross station, a good place to kill time while waiting for a train or as a meeting point.

I went for a drink with my brother on Monday 2 gin and tonics costing just under £12 very reasonable. However we went again the following evening before i caught my train. Ordered 2 gin and tonics £19! The receipt said 2 doubles. No way were they doubles and only one bottle of tonic shared between 2 drinks all poured in before brought to the table where we paid at the time. We would have complained but we were in a rush and too busy at the bar to complain. Shame really we certainly won't be back.

The cafe and bar has outside seating where you can people watch to your heart's desire. Very attentive service and very reasonable prices. Smoking is allowed.

Just as you arrive at King's Cross station you can locate the GNH Bar its tucked away and easily missed, inside it has an exclusive club type feel to it, service very good, fine alcohol choices and well worth a pint.

Having travelled many miles throughout our railway empire, and become more and more discouraged that our continental friends can do it so much better; this bar really is very nice. Nicely decorated inside in muted tones, and if you wish to drink outside, then the area is heated. Luggage is politely removed and ticketed. You cannot deny that all is in the upper margins for price, but I find this a lovely restful stop.

Having lived in London for most of my life, I thought I'd pop in here for a breakfast and coffee. My order was misunderstood and I received 3 different plates of what was a full english breakfast. Half of it was cold, the bacon dry and the baked beans were barely warm. My coffee was ok.

I popped in here for a drink with a friend before a train and ordered a whiskey sour and a cosmopolitan. The whiskey sour was fine, the cosmopolitan was weak and pale, and at £9.50 a drink really disappointing. I don't accept that the prices can be that high just because it is in London, there are plenty of delicious cocktail bars in Central London much more reasonably priced.

First time here lastnight i was in awe❤️❤️ great place to hang out with friends for a couple of drinks. It looks so posh, love the chandelier and it's in KingsCross very pricey but then yo expect that in London will come again when in city.

An English breakfast but very tiny and with only a cup of coffee. It was very light for a brunch !!! The bar is cosy and the toilets are smart. But not enough food for a brunch !

Plush surroundings, great service . We were looking for a quick drink while waiting for a train and noticed this calm oasis in the hustle and bustle of Kings Cross Station. We nipped upstairs to the Martini rooms and enjoyed a lively, peppery Cotes de Rhone with some nibbles: excellent aged comte, mixed meats and parmesan courgette fries. All liberally smothered in truffle oil. While we were on a tight turnaround from Edinburgh to London by train this made us feel we had experienced a tiny bit of London lifestyle. Wine served at excellent temperature in clear elegant glasses. Cozy sofas and artsy art on the walls. A tiny bit of luxury in a busy business day.

On entering this slightly claustrophobic bar beside the platforms at kings Cross station, I was quickly greeted and found a table. However, service thereafter proved fairly slow. On the plus side, the ambience was OK and it's a better offering than one of the draughty outlets on the balcony that overlooks the concourse. I ordered lamb kofta, which came with cardboard pitta bread and a small bucket of cold fries (these were replaced without fuss when requested). It's not that its bad, its just another fairly disinterested London establishment that provides poor quality over-priced refreshments for people passing through. If you have to use up half an hour before your train then its OK but certainly don't seek it out as anything special

Me and my friends came in and asked if they have table for four and bartender told us that if we came for draft beer there is a pub nearby... i was disgusted by this reaction, how can somebody just assume that you want draft beer and how could they just tell you to go elsewhere if you want a beer?!?!?

Not very big but quite a charming place. Stopped off for a drink while waiting for our train home. Drinks were very good. As others have said it is pretty expensive - even by London standards. Service is slow and not very attentive but ok.

We enjoyed the cocktails at this bar, however the price was astronomical. I presume this is because it is in prime location for commuters and tourists. The service was fairly slow, as the bartender was very focussed on the young female clientele!

Staff unhelpful, waited ten minutes at the bar to be served, nobody else waiting. I got two cold hot chocolates for £10.13. Service charge added even though I was served at the bar and collected my drinks. Avoid unless desperate

We wanted somewhere a bit special for a coffee and were very pleased that we found and chose the GNH Bar. The decor is great and we received very good service. The menu looked good but we were not eating as on our way to a lunch appointment elsewhere. Other people's meals looked great. This is on the outside of Kings Cross station but easy to reach from St Pancras. Lots of outdoor well heated seating too but we were happier to be inside. Service was fine.

We called in for a drink before getting our train. It's quite a dark atmosphere, OK but not easy to find seats. Staff unhelpful and you aren't allowed to get service at the bar so have to wait for them to get round to taking your order, then 10-15 minutes to get a glass of wine. We had their "two-for-one" Malbec - perhaps as well, as £7 is pretty outrageous for quite poor quality wine. I think we'll go to Pret for a cup of tea next time! (Or, more seriously, one of the proper pubs which surround the station)

Two seniors travelling back from abroad had a longish wait for their train so stopped off at this quite delightful bar. Staff are friendly and quickly found us a seat, and the way your luggage is taken from you is excellent, with coded tickets given. What security of luggage is really like, I have no idea, but we had no issue.

Ocupado y bastante caro, pero hizo un lugar muy agradable para reunirse. Los camareros eran muy serviciales y rápidamente conseguimos una mesa a pesar de que el bar estaba relativamente lleno.

I call in occasionally, it's a little pricey, but the toilets are first class and the food is usually very agreeable if a little sparse

This is somewhere to go either, from Kings cross or St Pancras London. It’s friendly good food. Is expense but to be expected. Lovely atmosphere too 😀

Fantastic cocktails, beautiful decor and lovely staff. We had a bad experience at another bar across the road and GNH saved the day.

We love GNH bar its not cheap but it is a excellent bar, the facilities are 100# the ambience is wicked, great food mega cocktails excellent selection of drinks.

Due to the cancellation of our scheduled train, we had some time on our hands and found this place which proved to be a nice place to spend an hour or so. It was a great place to people watch. The decor was quite pleasant. The staff while quite friendly, were not as responsive as they could be. The price for a couple of beverages and a snack was high, however this is central London.

I popped in for a quick beer on a Friday evening to as it's located just outside the main entrance to Kings Cross station. Outside were plenty of small tables (Parisian style) with plenty of people relaxing with their drinks. There are outdoor heaters but they didn't need to be on. They also have a polite security presence on the door to the internal bar. Inside, there is seating for about 35 people. The décor is nice - brown wood and red with a mirrored ceiling and 2 glass chandaliers which make the place feel quite luxurious. The Bar itself is small - however - manned by 4 people so no wait for a drink! They don't do corona style bottled beers so I had a London lager for £5.50, Whilst waiting, I saw a barman making a cocktail - very classy work indeed. Lots of attention to detail using wafer thin lemon slices, I didn't have one but he did a fine job and next time I will be tempted. Also, further attention to detail - my barman used ice to pre cool my glass before pouring the beer. Very professional work indeed. The atmosphere was nice. 80's music played in the background and the place had a nice feel to it. I didn't head to the restaurant upstairs, but the toilets downstairs were immaculate, even on a Friday evening. So thumbs up for service, style and atmosphere and a very nice evening drink.

I have used the GNH Bar on and off since it opened, almost always whilst waiting for a train at Kings X. It's the nicest bar in the station, and should aspire to be a great experience for those heading to the north and Scotland on one of Britain's premier intercity rail routes. A recent visit however highlighted how far away from meeting this aspiration the place is. First of all, they have a crazy "no luggage" policy whereby they insist even the smallest case, even if (as we were) you are sitting outside has to be checked. And of course, trying to retrieve your case is a nightmare - eventually, with our departure time fast approaching, I had to chase my luggage down from a clueless waiter who was asking people sitting inside if it was theirs. Another guest was having a similar problem. The bar was not busy at this time. Furthermore, they have no draught beer on tap, just bottles. Finally, they don't accept children after 6pm. My advice is - if you want a chilled drink before your train from KX head to the Betjeman Arms or Champagne Bar in St Pancras (or even The Booking Office). All three are far more pleasant places to visit.

Our experience at the GNH bar is similar to what others share. My friend is a gin drinker. She knows her gin. (I'm a bourbon girl myself, but when in Rome...) We were waiting for our train and she had seen GNH featured in one of her gin magazines. We stopped in for cocktails. To be clear, for being a gin bar, the gin selection didn't blow me away and only two of their signature cocktails included gin. I opted for the Blue Velvet and my friend ordered the Gin Mare. Both cocktails were truly lovely. The violet foam atop the Blue Velvet could almost stand on it's own as an amazing delight.

My friend and I were going to have a cocktail in here. Looked to be a lovely venue. However a member of staff came and said they had a luggage policy and he would need to take our luggage away and put somewhere else, and put a luggage sticker on it. As we didn't want there to be any delay in getting our luggage back as we had a train to catch, we decided just to go elsewhere. However when we went outside there were loads of other people outside WITH THEIR LUGGAGE BESIDE THEM. We felt we should have been informed of this. And been given the option to sit outside as there plenty of empty seats. !!!However it was their loss as we would have had a cocktail each and they lost out on £24.!!! Will definitely not be back. Felt it could have been handled a lot better.

Travelled here today to get breakfast whilst spending some time in Kings Cross. I have been here before, and it's a relief that the service, atmosphere and quality of the food and drink has stayed the same since I was here last in 2016.

A specialist gin menu, with its own menu, obviously catering to the discerning, we thought!

First place we stopped accessed via Kings X station. Looks classy, reasonably priced for it's location and the staff were attentive but discreet. My only criticism is that the toilets were a bit of a trek down to the basement and with dodgy knees I found it difficult. To be fair, not sure if they had a lift because I never asked. I saw food being delivered to others that looked delicious but never tried it myself. Worth a visit if you are in the area.

But the service is a little slow considering the prices are a premium

Lovely helpful staff, got stuck at kings cross after cycling accident, they stored my bike free of charge, had a good quality pot of tea & best Welsh rarebit ever, would recommend for weary travellers

Parece un poco pijo e intimidante, pero el personal es estupendo y muy atento.

Muebles bonitos, en la explanada de Kings Cross. Pedimos una cerveza mientras nos sentamos en el bar. Todo el camarero tenía que hacer era coger una botella de la nevera, abrirla y verter en una copa. No tener que mover ni un centímetro. Así un ya caro (5 libras) pequeña botella de cerveza un 62 p cargo por el servicio de unos 10 segundos de trabajo.

Nice atmosphere inside, well trained staff and choices of alcohol that you don't get in most pubs, well worth a try though, had England game on several screens when we need a pre-train journey home drink and it was worth it.

Popped in for a drink whilst staying at the hotel. The bar itself is nice, serving expensive drinks and reasonably priced food. The service is poor - after ordering from a table we had to wait 15 minutes for one of the numerous bar staff on a relatively quiet evening to serve us. A real ‘can’t be bothered’ attitude which is detrimental to the rest of the hotel and which is yet to be addressed despite several tripadvisor contributors making similar comments.

We had a business meeting in the up stairs restaurant. The menu was very nice, good portion and great value. The atmosphere is very good and the staffs is friendly. I will take back client at these restaurant.

I have been to this bar before while waiting for my train. The inside is very nice and drinks are good but this time was not a good experience. The price for the drinks have increased and the staff were not friendly. My partner and I waited at the bar for 10 minutes waiting to be served, there are five male staff members behind the bar who saw us and completely ignored us. Once we did get served, the bartender had an bad attitude towards my partner which made us feel uncomfortable.

We are staying in the hotel for 10 days (revue to follow). The day we flew from the States, we went straight to the bar to celebrate our arrival. My wife had her customary vodka, soda, extra lime. I had the ahau chamahez (El Jimador blanco, chilli, lime, guacamole, coriander, olive bitters and soda). Small plates: rosemary salt fries, padron peppers, miniature pork, chilli and fennel meatballs in tomato sauce, and the Dorset crab and crushed avocado on sourdough toast. I had a second drink, The Bloody Hell: vodka, spicy mix, lemon, sweet cherry, tomato and beetroot.

Booked a table for lunch. We were disappoint to see an expensive pub with mediocre food and small portions. Nothing special at all.

AM visit - arrived and ordered breakfast just before 11am cut off. Very helpful staff, no delay, food (Irish potato cake/bacon/eggs @£12) delicious. Not overly busy. As a note: I did not have bags/suitcase. Read the reviews and can only jump to conclusion - like all London venues - finding quality staff for all shifts is hard. The team on right now are great...

Parece muy bonito desde fuera, pero no tan bien en el interior. Servicio lento aparte de llevar su equipaje, nos hicieron sentir incómodos que nos habíamos atrevido a llevar en una maleta, extraño cuando es un hotel adjunto a una estación, así que la mayoría de la gente tenía equipaje, cuando estás allí sólo por un café rápido, no estoy seguro de por qué insisten en hacerlo. Hay mejor lugar alrededor que elegiría antes de aventurarse aquí

This place serves mainly for cafe and bar... They have also nice dishes for lunch and dinner.. recommended

Tomamos café en el bar antes de la llegada en el hotel. El servicio era bueno y el personal era acogedor y amable. Incluso sugirió que mover la mesa fuera del proyecto de la puerta durante el clima de invierno. El bar está abierto hasta las 2 de la mañana y sirve una buena variedad de comida y bebida de alta calidad. Puede tomar aperitivos o un desayuno, almuerzo o cena en el bar, o simplemente una bebida.

Nos alojamos en el hotel dos veces y me encantó. Entramos en el bar con mi compañero hoy para un café rápido antes de que cogimos el tren (yo le dije lo mucho que me gustó el lugar). Él tenía una gran bolsa de fin...

My friend and I spent an hour here waiting for our train, we ordered a gin and tonic, glass of wine and a meat platter - the gin and tonic was completely flat, it was replaced and this time the waiter brought the remainder of the bottle of tonic to us. The meat platter consisted of 5 pieces of salami, 4 pieces of chorizo and 3 rashers of “raw” bacon rolled up attractively on the platter.

I came here for a breakfast before boarding my train. I had to ask for another tea cup due to the first one having a lipstick mark on it. The teapot was filthy and didn’t seem to bother the staff at all when this was also pointed out. £20.25 for undrinkable tea, a glass of juice and a fried egg with some haggis was way out of step as an acceptable price even if everything was good and nice.

Agradable bar agradable que cuenta con un personal muy amable y eficiente. La comida es muy buena y no tan cara. Un montón de opciones saludables y opción razonable para el desayuno/almuerzo. El restaurante principal arriba.

Called here for a quick drink whilst waiting our train, ordered 2 gin and tonics and wow I nearly dropped at the bar £21.38 I was completely shocked .In London you expect London prices but this was a complete mickey take 2 gins at £8 pounds each 2 tonics at £3 pounds and best of all £2.38 SERVICE CHARGE and I stood at the bar and ordered all he did was pour the drinks. Don't go in this place its a complete rip off I will certainly never darken their doorstep again.

I cam here a few months ago, and did not write a review at the time, as sometimes I like to see if a place can do better second time around.

Do not trust the staff to honour the deals published in their menu. We had a very unpleasant experience with respect to their happy hour pricing. Despite challenging the staff on their inaccurate billing, we ended up paying double for a bottle of wine we wouldn’t have ordered otherwise. Very poor experience overall.

The 'less' posh bar of the great northern hotel, mixture of upscale guests, local workers stopping for a drink, and those killing time coming or going from Kings X station. London prices, classic decor with a twist.

Great find on a tiring Saturday afternoon after walking miles shopping! 2 for 1 drinks too!

I used to always pop in here on the way back up North, loved the tapas sausages and beer. Sadly no longer available and only 1 bottled beer. Service down the pan too, had to go inside to ask for outdoor service and just got a grunt when I asked if the seat could be dried off. It used to be such a great venue. Went over the road to the John Betchamin and was treated like royalty !

Qui s'attendrait, aussi près de la gare, à trouver un bar qui sert des cocktails d'une telle qualité! Le lieu est cosy et décoré avec soin, le personnel est très agréable et les cocktails signature sont divins! Que demander de plus?

De très bons hamburgers et salades servis avec lenteur (étonnant face à deux gares !) dans un cadre sympa. Prix corrects.

아침에 출근길 손님들도 좀 보이는데, 잉글리쉬 블렉퍼스트가 맛납니다. 젤 맛난 식사중 하나였어요.
