A group of 30 of us visited today for the Sunday carvery lunch. Absolutely superb in every way. Excellent food and service. Loved it !!. 5*

Greens are excellent. Fairways good. Possibly in as good condition as at any time I've played here. Always a great welcome. Chips weren't great but the ham was. Give it a go!!

We visited today as a party of 20 to celebrate our grandmothers 83rd birthday. The food was wonderful-great value for money and absolutely delicious. As a large party with children we had to take multiple trips to the carvery and therefor had to que multiple times (a fairly decent que too!)...not an issue for us but... The staff took a long time to take our dessert order (which again wasn’t a problem for us) and took a long time to deliver the desserts; then some came and some arrived 15 minutes later. As a large party we were splitting the bill, I went up to the bar to request ours and they didn’t have it ready so came to the table to ask how it should be split. At this point the last of the deserts finally arrived and seconds later we were rudely told that a party was waiting for the table to celebrate a birthday. We responded to say that the last of the desserts had just arrived and the waitress said ‘yes well..they’re waiting’ -completely disregarding that the desert had just arrived and hadn’t yet been eaten. The dessert was left as we were ushered from the table, only to then have to wait a further 15 minutes at the bar for the bills to be prepared for us to pay. If the waitress had politely said ‘I’m really sorry but we have another party waiting-I’m so sorry to rush you’ (and maybe after the food had been eaten!) it wouldn’t have been an issue but the rudeness behind her tone was shocking-no customers should ever be spoken to like that. It may have also helped to have told us when seated that another party was due in at a certain time so that we were all aware. Knowing that we were a large party, better organisation would’ve prevented us having to que multiple time’s-which would have naturally sped us along....as well as a more prompt dessert service. It honestly ruined the day for us! (Good job we had a birthday cake to go home to!) Would definitely recommend if you’re after some lovely grub but don’t mind leaving half of it! **note this only applies to one individual-the rest of the waitresses were lovely.

Food was ok! Very long que was waiting for 20min. Waitress was extremely rude to the point we felt so uncomfortable on more than one occasion. Didn't have time to finish dessert as they expected 17 of us which 7 were children to arrive find our seats que for our food, which was nearly a 20min wait. Then wait for our desserts which once more took over 20min to get to us. All this was to be done in 1hr 30min. Absolutely ridiculous. I would never go back but not because of the food it was the pure rudeness of an older waitress.

Food was ok. One of the older staff were absolutely terrible and extremely rude bad service. Were rushed through our meal and asked to leave before we could finish desserts.

Went for Sunday lunch, been before and every time the quality of the food and service has been top notch. We were lucky today as we rang last minute and took there last free table, so thanks guys for squeezing us in. If your looking for a good value Sunday lunch in the Ammanford area, this place is hard to beat. Just don’t leave it to late to book! Don’t forget to give us a like, if you find my review helpful 😁

Sunday carvery is excellent, highly recommended and book in advance otherwise you will not get a seat. Great choice of meat and all you can fit on your place freshly cooked veg.

Excellent food, very tasty. The best beef if tasted in years. Vegetables not overcooked as it's a carvery. The service was very efficient. We shall be returning.

We received a warm welcome and were looked after throughout the afternoon, with nothing being too much trouble. The service and the quality of the food was excellent and the little extra touches made the day more special.

Good atmosphere food was ok mostly beef was a bit sinewy but taste of food good my daughter and wife left their meet although nice atmosphere not our cup of tea

The food was acceptable but this venue is not suitable for the disabled due to the steep stair case but there is no mention of this in your adverts. Also there does not seem to be any spaces for blue badge holders. If you require drinks then you have to go downstairs to get them. The staff were very good but I am afraid this will be our first and last visit.

Special price when we booked. Excellent value. We had a very friendly welcome, played a beautiful course on a lovely day. We were the only golfers there so felt like Millionaires golf. Some tricky holes, most needed a bit of thought before teeing off. All in all we thoroughly enjoyed the experience and will visit again before too long. Only sandwiches available on a Tuesday.

Lovely Sunday carvery with choice of beef, turkey or pork. Really pleased I can take away a dinner for another family member too. Great choice of veg with tasy stuffing and gravy. Can't fault it!

Four of us visited to place golf - 3 of us from Midlands and a friend who was a former member. I’d played here many times in the last 10 years, but not for over 4 years recently. The welcome was wonderful, pro- shop couldn’t have been more helpful and people in bar area were the same. Golf course is great - challenging but in good condition. However the front 9 holes still suffer from water problems. There had been some rain in the previous week, but not really that much - but the ground underfoot was very wet bordering in soggy. I recall lots of work being done to try to improve this, several years ago, but it’s clearly still an issue. Value for money, it is unbeatable - £10 for a full round of golf on a Monday, but I guess much old the course is unplayable in Winter months. Real shame - still worth a visit for the beauty and the welcome.

called on a Wednesday night for a function. The carvery was excellent - two meats - the beef melted in your mouth and the turkey was succulent. The choice of veg was really good. I had the jam rspongey with custard to finish. An excellent meal which was added to by the friendly attentive staff. diolch

Went for Sunday lunch with the family which was our first visit and we weren’t disappointed. The quality and quantity of meat was excellent along with the choice of veg. The staff were all friendly, polite and happy to help. Overall a really good meal well priced and an enjoyable atmosphere.

Tranquil Rural Country Parkland Course...

What an amazing Sunday lunch we had here. Had garlic mushrooms to start which was delicious. Then Lunch it self was amazing everything was very tasty and really hot. Service we had from the staff was excellent. Will be going here again.

We had a family meal before Christmas, food was fab,portions are huge and price is very reasonable. I would.d highly recommend this place for food.

Played there in a league match I think, would have been easier to play in a river. The game should have been called off very wet cours.

First time playing this course, very well tended and a pleasant and not too strenuous walk around. Only problem with it is the amount of rainfall which can't be helped. Good for all standards of players

We have recently moved to the area so trying out lots of places and this is the best for Sunday Lunch Carvery so far! So much appreciate the lovely selection of vegetables (Especially the yummy cauliflower cheese) and the joints are always succulent. The staff couldn’t be more attentive and offer you a gravy boat for your table - so nice. We were able to take our vegetarian friend there as she loves a plate of vegetables and they even offered her a separate vegetarian gravy boat! It is a little bit of an inconvenience to climb the steep stairs and we can’t take Auntie as she is 89. The gentleman behind the bar is charming and is getting to know us - remembering our drinks - a lovely feeling when your new to the area! We feel as though we belong!

After arriving everything was good, to be told by the pro that the course was in great condition and everything looks good. Bacon roll was good 3 slices, went down a charm, then we tee’d of, a large group of us on the first tee looking forward to what was ahead, then we got to the greens! My god! What the hell! Slower than slow! About 3 on the meter I’d say, they were horrendous and that’s putting it politely, there was one that had no grass on it what so ever, should’ve been taken out of play! The rough wasn’t cut, it had been rolled to flatten it, my bug is we should’ve been told this or had a discount as a lot of them were un playable, we spent a lot of money to go here and could’ve gone elsewhere that was in good condition, not being lied to like we were. I can only say one good point and that was the food, it was outstanding to be fair, I would go again but my clubs would be left at home and just have food. All I can say again that the course was shocking!

Visitor friendly,challenging undulating golf course. 1st hole is a peach, big hitters can drive the green.The 6th par 3 over the pond is a delight for the brave. The pro shop is well stocked with both goods and advice.

Excellent golf course in very good condition despite this very dry weather.

Despite its remote location, this is a great place to go for some food and drink with company. The views and scenery are fantastic and the whole place is surrounded by the golf course with great grounds and the local Glynhir Mansion nearby.

Recently we have been hearing that the meals in the Glynhir Golf Club are nice so we decided to give it a try last night. We were pleased to see it is rated five for food hygiene though we did wonder if we had chosen the wrong evening to go because there was a party of about 30 ladies taking place upstairs and we thought we might have a very long wait to be served but that certainly wasn't the case. We sat downstairs in the conservatory and for most of the time were the only ones there until another couple came in.

Very good welcome. The best carvery. Second to none.

The location of this place is some three miles off the main road that goes from Llandybie to Ammanford.Its a one lane with places to overtake.The Glynhir Golf Club is welcome to all visitors for a meal or drink.Located on the fringe of National Park in beautiful countryside.The Cub House is not open on Monday although there is a coffee machine available"Sunday lunch is exceptional and a must.Very advisable to book in advance to make sure of a place.

I have given Glynhir four stars to reflect the quality of its Sunday carvery. Although the starters were a bit bland, the food from the carvery was very good with good quality joints and selection of vegetables - all served by a friendly staff.However there are irritations.The restaurant is accessed by very steep stairs which makes it difficult for the elderly and those like myself with a leg injury. Furthermore, you are expected to carry drinks up from the bar below. The obliging waitress did this for me but in a busy time I wonder whether they would be free to do this ( we arrived early in the first sitting.) The restaurant is a bit huggermugger - although we had a table for two, it was very close to the table for four besides it. At one stage my wife had to interrupt her meal to allow some of the party of four to get into this table. To add to the niggles the downstairs bar ( where you pay) was chronically understaffed - the poor barmaid struggled valiantly to cope with the orders of the golfers and from the restaurant. Although the car park is very large, on Sunday you may struggle to park your car because of the golfers and restaurant customers- since it is accessed by a long, narrow and winding country road, there is no alternative parking.Having said all this the place is obviously popular, particularly with families and children.

We are regulars to the carvary at glynhir and have found that they serve the best Sunday lunch in Carmarthenshire. The staff are very courteous and can’t do enough. Everything is home cooked all fresh vegetables no frozen substitutes. Even the roast potatoes are fresh not frozen. Excellent

Another amazing Sunday lunch last Sunday. The food was amazing. I go there for Sunday lunch quite often and EVERY time it is lovely.

Late Mother's Day treat with my husband and daughter. Probably the best carvery around and very good value for money. Three meat options and huge selection of vegetables. Unfortunately did not have room to taste their desserts but will definitely be returning to do so.

Regarding the food and staff at Glynhir Golf club. Firstly the staff are great, they cant do enough for you. Secondly, the food is second to none. We have been regular customers since they started their venture. 1* is a bit harsh. Mistakes do happen and if you weren't contacted because of the weather conditions I don't think that was intentional. The only reason I suppose they cancelled was for the safety of others travelling up to Glynhir at a massive loss to themselves. 5***** reviews says it all.

We were booked in for a party of 12 for lunch on Sunday 18th March. The weather was cold and there was a 'sprinkling' of snow. An hour before lunch we 'browsed' facebook to learn the restaurant was closed due to adverse weather.

Being not a lover of eating Sunday lunch out (fed up of poor quality, luke-warm processed food) I hadn't been out for Sunday lunch for over 6 months. I went to the golf club with some trepidation but was most pleasantly surprised. Nice, welcoming function room upstairs and a warm welcome from the waitresses. Our meal was delicious. Tasty and filling country vegetable soup to start with fresh bread then a lovely carvery-choice of turkey, beef or pork with fresh vegetables cooked to just right not soggy or over-cooked. Nice to see Spring greens on offer as well! We didn't have room for a pudding- next time I'll forgo the starter to try a pud! It's the nicest Sunday lunch I've had out and look forward to returning before long!

Can highly recommend here for Sunday lunch. Staff are friendly and cant do enough to assist you. As for the food, starters and desserts were delicious. The carvery was out of this world. Choice of 3 meats, which was plentiful and was so tender, and a large selection of vegetables, so if someone didnt like a couple, there was still plenty of choice.

Another visit, another fabulous lunch. Meat cooked to perfection, and a fabulous choice of potatoes and veg. Staff brilliant again. Keep up the good work! 👏🏻👏🏻

What a lovely club. We went as a large group of women to play golf and enjoy a day out. The staff were fantastic and couldn't do enough for us. Food was great and all homemade. Golf course was great and we will definitely come back. Thank you all.
