This place is actually brilliant! Best campsite we stayed at on Skye. The reasons - the shop, the cafe with food and pizzas, the location, the cheap overnight parking if you're not even camping there (we were heading for the Cuillins)

I can only speak for the cafe, but my husband and I had a wonderful experience. The hot chocolate was amazing and the staff were friendly and welcoming. The biggest draw for me was Dude the dog, who sat on my foot and let me pet him while we relaxed on our tour stop. No worries if you’re not a dog fan because he does have a kennel in the cafe, but I asked to say hi to him

This is a review for the café (not the campsite). This was a lovely and unexpected find on a secluded and remote beach. There is really good coffee and tea and a great selection of cakes, pastries and vegetarian pasties and the cafe feels really welcoming and friendly. The shop is mainly aimed at people using the campsite, but it's still worth having a browse. If you've just visited the water falls (about 4 miles up the road) or have driven down to walk on the beach this cafe is definitely recommended. It's also dog friendly.

What a wonderful location! You have the beach in front, a river to one side and the Cuillin Hills to the other. You get there via a long, winding, single track road, mostly lovely and smooth but with occasional potholes and plenty of passing places. The campsite has a coffee shop and tiny shop (closed presently due to staffing issues), clean toilets and showers and the usual stuff for motorhome waste etc. Very limited hardstanding but the pitches are clean and dry, most with electric hookup. There's a lot of room for tents too. The beach is a few steps away, wide with soft silver grey sand. The site has access to roughly paved footpaths into the hills, a combination of cobble, rocks and stone. It's clear to follow and loads of fun to scramble up. The views are stunning and well worth the effort. The woman running the site was really friendly and had time for everyone even though she was doing it by herself. There wasn't a million stifling rules either. I highly recommend the site to anyone wanting big sky, beach, hills and a friendly site with clean amenities. Oh and for the kids, no WiFi and very poor phone signal so be prepared! 5 stars despite this :)

Stayed for a few days on my trip around Skye, definitely my favorite campsite. The landscape is beyond mesmerizing, no phone signal makes for a great social media break. The only small con is, depending on where you have your parking spot, the bathrooms and dish washing area can be quite far. But for me, it's not a big disadvantage. Definitely consider staying there if you're on Skye :))

Agreed pot holes on the access road are murder but this is what a camping holiday is all about. A pitch next to the beach, mountain walks, swimming in cold Scottish waters. You can BBQ on the beach ( load up on supplies, steaks etc before you go ) and with a bottle of whisky, and with the stars so close your can almost touch them. You really are in god's country. Fantastic place. Fix the potholes and it's 5 star.

One of my favourite campsites! I arrived late and in the dark, so just parked up somewhere out the way. Didn't find it tricky to get a spot; was lovely and quiet; vies straight out to sea 😊 Facilities are good, with perhaps the exception of washing & drying facilities which consisted on one washer and dryer on the doorway, lending to a muddy puddle between the door and the machine you have to be careful not to drop ya clean washing in. The lady who currently works there, is a total diamond. It's the people that make your stay what it is, and she definitely made my stay what it was. Also, their cafe does the most amazing hot chocolate, made with choc ganach 😋

Please fix the road - potholes everywhere and not great in our VW transporter. No WiFi and little to no phone signal at the campsite - if that is important to you. I'd recommend to owners they get WiFi even just in the cafe so that people can use it from there, would also increase customers using the cafe. Just a suggestion. The road down to it is quite long and single track, but not an issue with lots of passing places, just take your time. But... Great coffee shop on site (best we have been to), best showers on this trip so far (this is our 3rd campsite), good dish washing area. Nice small and quiet beach for the dog to run around.

The 'road' in to this 'campsite' (and it's a long 'road'!!) is absolutely horrendous!! We always joke about the approaches to campsites, they can be pretty bad sometimes but there is no rival anywhere on Skye to match the potholes on this approach!! We decided to pop in to the 'cafe' after our visit to the Fairy Pools. So, so glad we were in a hire car and not our precious motorhome. Then once we had navigated the vehicle wrecking 'road' looking around, all I could see was utter chaos!! The 'cafe' certainly wasn't worth the dangerous drive in! I had thought on occasion, when looking at the website, that this might be worth an overnight stay but the photograph certainly doesn't portray an accurate view, we will never stay here.

We slept along the beach and from one window could see the waves and the other the mountains. The staff were lovley, one lady served us each time we were at the till and she was just so happy and helpful which was so welcomed as some tourist places the staff can be abrupt. We had a jacket potato which was large and tasty. Loos were a while away from where we camped but had a port a loo for number 1's so wasn't a problem. Midges are a pain and do take net and your various potions. But tbh they are worse elsewhere. It is the highlands, a gentle breeze moves the worst away. The fairy pools nearby are a must. Though much better to take a walk from Glenbrittle (20/30min) than contend with the car parks, traffic and crazy campervan drivers. I highly recommend the site and its cafe, facilities. They are well maintained and cleaned twice a day. The water which I assume is fresh from the mountains spring is hot and provides for a decent shower.

Disappointing. Cafe really isn't - just pastries in morning, muffins & a bowl of soup available. Also takeaway only - no seating area so just be aware. Considering there is nothing for miles around this is a real missed opportunity. Site is OK but I couldn't see how there are 120 pitches - lots of wasted space. But access to the loch beach for paddling & trails for walking are good.

Busy place with everyone doing staycations this year but still managed to find a great pitch. Stags and deer wandering through the field opposite and the beach is very close by.

When I first visited ten years ago Glenbrittle campsite felt like a majestic wilderness. Utterly stunning location, a tiny site hut with a delapidated shower block, populated almost exclusively by climbers and walkers scattered throughout the long grass. It was simple, remote and quiet - exactly how it should be. Fast forward ten years and the arrival of the coffee shop seems to have brought mass tourism. There's something rather incongruous about seeing people returning to their tents with take out coffee and food cartons. It's not in the spirit of the place in my opinion. Don't you come somewhere like this to get away from all that? I visited in August and the site felt oversold. Pitches should be marked out properly and I had to persuade someone not to pitch within a meter of my tent. Some speed bumps on the gravel track to the office would be a good idea too, people drive too fast. All that being said it is a stunning location and all deserve access to Skye. Perhaps I'm just grumpy today because of the rain.

Just stopped for a light lunch here. The place is quite literally the end of the road in an amazing setting. Lunch, with no wifi or phone signal, with mountain and sea views? Perfect. The campsite itself looked well kept with plenty of pitches available.

Both staff members were incredibly rude to all members of our group. When asked for a menu, we were snapped at and told it was “only baked potatoes and soup, we only really do coffee”. Not sure why to
