It MUST be locals who whine about the 'high prices' because I'm telling you that as someone from the mainland, the prices on the board for the main meal lunch courses looked great value, and I was worried that the portions would be small. Ha! We were a big group and everything ordered was generously portioned and excellent quality. I had the burger and chips, and it was superb - two thick beef patties, bacon, cheese, tomato, gerkin and excellent, thick-cut chips that were hot, crispy out and fluffy in. Banging - best burger in many years. My father-in-law had the ploughman's and, again, it was a mighty feast of quality produce that he struggled to finish. We followed with some of their bakery items and the Victoria Sponge was divine. The service was prompt and the staff lovely. 7 adults and three kids, all eating a main course, plus teas/coffees/soft drinks all round and a few who had cakes to follow, ALL delicious food and generously portioned to leave us so stuffed we only had a small evening meal back at home later, and averaging about £9 each. Bargain!

Visited today with a friend for lunch and was absoloutely disgusted with the lack of social distancing and such a shame to see other members of the public not following guidelines re. masks etc. For such a busy place I would have liked to have seen more regulations in place, other customers were queuing right beside our table, making it an uncomfortable environment. Staff were all very friendly despite being it being so busy. The food was delicious, especially the goats cheese salad. But overall wouldn’t rush back if looking to enjoy a relaxing afternoon out.

I am sorry to report we had a less than average meal here today, we eat here occasionally and this time was very poor. The chips were undercooked, the burger was very nice, the fish was just ok but a very small portion compared to what used to be on offer. The staff are very pleasant and surroundings are beautiful. We didn't complain but probably won't return, maybe it was just an off day but Glenarm castle tea room really should offer better for the price charged, my opinion.

Lunch - a burger (very good) and scampi. Lukewarm plates meant that the food was cold before we had eaten. The - in my opinion - more serious error was that excellent crisp scampi was plated on top of mushy peas (also above average). The result was that a potentially excellent meal was down graded by batter made soggy by the mushy peas. What a pity.

Somewhat underwhelmed. Sadly a local cafe seems to have been replaced by a functional chain and has really lost its ‘home cooked’ feel. It’s now lost its charm. Staff used to be lovely and friendly - still very pleasant but seem to be young students lacking in a bit of confidence. The place has stacks of potential but needs to move away from the feel of a Cafe Nero. Let’s get some local charm back. Not a fan of having tray bakes served on saucers because they ran out of plates as a simple example.

We visited last week- busy because of “eat out to help out” but the Glenarm classic burger is well worth the wait. Visited the shop to buy topside. All the beef is from their own Organic shorthorn herd and not at all expensive given the quality. The lady in the shop even gave me her lunch cool bag to transport the meat home. Will be back!

My husband and I have been coming to the Tea Rooms since they first opened. We have watched it grow from the original to the lovely place it is now. However on our last visit we were very disappointed in the food. My husband had the Chowder which is usually outstanding, but it was served in what I can only describe as an oversized crispy bap. I had the chicken goujons which were overdone and dry. The coffee was very good and the lemon drizzle delicious. We will be back as we love the gardens. Hope next time it will be better.

Been here on several occasions and although I still have a fondness for this cafe (and it's beautiful location) it's tainted by being able to provide consistent delicious food together with staff who are either friendly or at worst unwelcoming... even grumpy (Shirley!) On our recent visit I had hoped for the seafood chowder but it wasn't on the menu so opted for a toasted sandwich (turkey and stuffing) it was a bland tasting bite with little contents. I actually opened it and looked inside with disappointment and the scattering of crisps on the side didn't change my opinion. Previously when I have ate here the food was delicious, usually complimented with some side salad but not on this occasion. Fingers crossed management take heed of this review and when I return hopefully the quality of food and customer service will be more consistent! (PS The clothing shop, fudge shop and delightful little curiosity shop in the courtyard are great and certainly worth a visit to browse or buy!)

Carrot and coriander soup tasted burnt and as though vinegar had been added to try to disguise this. Only 1 Cajun chicken ciabatta on display at 1:30, we were informed there were no others - would have preferred ham and cheese. Woman who served the soup/hot food is not very welcoming. We have been eating in the cafe for years, since the old days. It's not the friendly and caring place it used to be. Shame.

Quite a queue to get in, waited and ordered good from the counter, all looked lovely. We are all vegetarian and 2 of us ordered vegetarian frittata. Shortly after the waitress brought the food over and we ate...only for the frittata eaters to discover half way through that it had ham in it! (Small pieces so not immediately obvious). Called the waitress back, who said, " Well it's supposed to be vegetarian, I'll go and see what's happening." No one came back, so my husband went up to the counter and someone checked with the chef, who said it was meat... Got the money back and an offer of different food, but it's really not a nice thing to happen, especially for my daughter, who has vegetarian all her life. And not even any follow up from the staff

I was out walking the dog so decided I would pop in for a scone and a drink. There were lots of young girls as waitresses, mostly all standing around doing nothing. The place was quite busy and there was a long queue at the till. There was a young girl on the till who rather than just take the money seemed to have to serve people with their drinks so she was spending most of her time filling tea pots and milk jugs and not enough time taking cash hence the long queue, meanwhile at least 4 other waitresses stood around and did nothing.

Glenarm Castle tea room is very good. This was my second visit. I came with a group of friends which included a resident of Glenarm who knew the ropes. We came for lunch. This tea room has much more to offer than just tea and scones. The lunch was very good indeed. One friend had mushrooms on toast. They looked spectacular! That dish was stylish not a bit like the basic offering I prepare for myself when I am home alone. I had Caesar salad which was adapted because I am vegetarian. I was pleased with it. The others had salads which looked inviting. They both enjoyed the stuffed peppers which they declared were home made.

My husband and I called in here on Sunday 7th April for a late lunch. When we arrived the place was very busy, however a member of staff quickly found us a table and we went and placed our order, my husband went for the Angus beef burger with chips and side and I went for the special, lamb & Mediterranean vegetable moussaka. Both our meals were delicious and freshly made. We both had dessert afterwards ( key lime pie for me and chocolate cake for hubby) which again looked homemade and tasted delicious. Lovely surroundings and pleasant staff. This place really is a hidden gem and we came across it by chance. The next time we are in the area we will definitely make a visit for lunch a must.

My wife and I stopped here for lunch yesterday. Had the goats cheese salad - around £7-8 per head. Absolutely delicious but honestly it could have fitted in a saucer - really very tiny portions. Basically it was a portion of a bag of supermarket salad leaves, a small boiled beetroot, and very small portion of cheese, with a balsamic reduction as dressing. I had a very similar lunch the previous day in a local eatery and I received a whole goats cheese, salad and French roll as a starter and it only cost me £3.95. It was much more substantial and filling. The wheaten bread which we needed to increase the size of the portion was priced separately. We had lemon meringue for desert (split between the two of us) which was reasonable in size and very good. I bought a packet of O'Donnells crisps for the journey afterwards - £1.45 - honestly they are 80p in other cafes. We both loved this location but at just under £30 for lunch it was 5 star hotel prices, in a cafe. Additionally the tea for 2 came in a small pot which only provided enough tea for one and a half small cups each. Honestly folks, hot water is cheap - surely if you provided a teapot which contained about 4-6 cups worth of tea, you might increase your business with folks returning to the counter to purchase tray-bakes or cake with which to finish their tea! All in all a really beautiful location, beautiful cafe but one which in our opinion really overcharges and under delivers in terms of portion size.

We didn’t happen to have cash on us so myself and my partner walked into the town in search of a cash machine. There was only one cash machine in town which was out of money. We headed back up to the tea room after asking in each of the Glenarm castle shops would they on this occasion do cash back but to no avail. We did eventually scrape enough cash together to get tea and cake but by that stage none of us were in the mood. The staff were very unhelpful and we eventually found out the card machine has been broken for 8 days and they have made no effort to fix it. I was not ask on ordering how I would like my burger cooked although I hate complaining on this occassion I did and the burger was reluctly taken away and returned later after sometime in the microwave it was so rubbery I couldn't eat it. I cant believe a chef would send out food like this after a simple complaint, the burger was made to look freshly done but it wasn't. I didnt complain again just came away hungry and I must say I checked another customer's burger on the way out and his was perfect not red in the middle at all and my husbands was fine also. My Husband & I popped in for just lunch yesterday. Whilst the place was quiet full at the time we did manage to get seated. After buying salmon etc., from the shop, I'd gone on into the Tea-Rooms to use the loo, my husband was then informed that we would have to pay £6pp entrance fee for the walled garden even though we wouldn't be going into it ~ we were only doing lunch! Personally I thought that this was an outrage and simply extorting money from people, IMHO that is. The cost of the food in the Tea Rooms is rather steep in the first instance - we got Burgers & Chips and a tin of pop each, cost £20.80. The service was slow, and the food (mainly the burger) was just look warm when it arrived. Now ALL that stated, the Staff were extremely helpful and pleasant, as was the lady in the 'Clothes Shop', however, we won't be rushing back soon. As someone else has pointed out, the car parking facility nearer the Tea Rooms leaves a lot to be desired - - small, tight, and a nightmare to negotiate in & out! Also I think they could improve on the Signs layout.

What a great place, clean tidy and very very friendly. We stopped off and had a late lunch. The open chicken sandwiches are fantastic and came with rice salad, pasta, mixed leaves and chick pea salad too. Fresh tasty and flavoursome. Really great place

Very present spot and high quality tea with fantastic scones - homemade. Jam in plastic sachet was boring could be 5* with better quality jam

Arrived for lunch and had to wait 15 minutes for a table. When shown to our table it had not been fully cleared and wiped down. We had to ask a waiter to come and clean the table before we ordered. Two meals of our 3 arrived and were very tasty. The soup never arrived despite asking two separate waitresses. After 30 minutes waiting we left disappointed.

North Antrim coastal drive is one of the best in the world, but you need a good cake to keep you going! Lovely place to stop with walled garden (beauty varies by season!) Busy tea room but friendly efficient service!

I have driven by on numerous occasions and today stopped for lunch. Our Initial delight at the surroundings and menu were then diminished on the arrival of our lunch. We had ordered sandwiches which came with a rocket salad side and were hugely disappointed that both were far from fresh, manky salad leaves, soggy and off and dry unappetising bread. I did tell a staff member who simply said ‘Oh sorry’. Which is far from satisfactory at all.

Really nice place to visit, would highly recommend if you are on the shore road. The poached eggs are the best I’ve ever had and the staff are all really pleasant. Will definitely be back!

Delighted at the new improved tea room- it’s been some time since I last visited. There is not a wide choice of places to stop for a snack along the coast road but this is a real gem. The homemade food was delicious and there was a nice ambiance and comfortable decor. The staff were very friendly and helpful. Will definitely call back.

The tearoom has more than doubled in size since my last visit and the quality of meals and snacks on offer has improved similarly. we had planned a very light lunch but were tempted by the burger and the braised rabbit respectively - both of which were delicious. the surroundings are very pleasant and the staff welcoming and friendly - definitely worth a return visit!

Very nice recent Saturday experience was enjoyed. The staff were so young and friendly, even carrying our tray to our table. Tea and tray bakes delicious and surroundings very comfortable. Tea room was packed and a very nice pre christmas atmosphere was starting to form as it was getting darkish early. Heading back very soon.

My husband and I have just been for supper at the tea room. The standard of food is excellent, I had turbot with butternut squash risotto, fish cooked to perfection. My husband had the slow cooked shorthorn beef again cooked to perfection. After three courses we are stuffed but very content.

I have gone to the Glenarm Tea Rooms for breakfast, coffee and scones, cake, all are delicious. But last weekend we went to their Bistro night entitled The Sea on a Saturday night. The atmosphere is cosy, you get a 3 course meal for £25 and it is BYO, great idea. The food was delicious, fresh and very pleasing to the eye. They have a very young staff, which is nice to see, overseen by Rosie who is very pleasant to talk to and a real asset to the business. Very enjoyable evening. Mid November Christmas menu will be available, i can't wait.

Room and view was lovely, comfortable massive bed, two red velvet buns, and bottled water, also tea and coffee. Let down for me was the food, I had the pate which was lovely but did not really like it
