Fabulous restaurant, my first visit and was really impressed. Great friendly and helpful service, great atmosphere, delicious food. I will recommend to my friends.

We were treated worse than the other guests simply because we are relatively young and obviously not as rich as the rest of the clientele. The prices online didn't match the prices on the menu and a service fee of £5 was charged, which I'm not familiar with in England. Not recommended even if the food is good

Very nice restaurant great food with fantastic wines to accompany them. Staff were very attentive and knew all the dishes and specials, and were passionate about what they were serving. I had the monkfish which was beautifully cooked and flaked off the bone, washed down with a lovely gavi de gavi.

After a long day of shopping in Harrods we decided to visit this restaurant as it was recommended by a friend who lives in Knightsbridge . So glad we visited as we were thoroughly impressed. The staff were incredibly warm and welcoming, providing top-notch service throughout the evening. As for the food, it was simply exceptional. Each dish was beautifully presented, showcasing the chef's meticulous attention to detail. And the taste – oh, the taste! Every bite was a delightful explosion of flavors, demonstrating the culinary expertise of the kitchen staff. After a long day playing tourist, a warm, cozy respite was just what the doctor ordered. Welcoming and tending from the opening door, they nestled us along the far wall, served us soft bread and presented a list of tempting specials longer than their proper menu. I had the veal chop and my wife, the rigatoni. Delicious, friendly, and comfortable. We arrived around 9 on Sunday, when they seemed to be swimming in staff but not customers. With a French couple to our backs, a Russian party in the corner and some local Brits over there, the host charmed them all with his thick Italian timbre. It really was perfect for what we wanted and what we tend to like. The chop, by the way, was startlingly large but I just couldn't stop enjoying it. Our cabby picked us up right at the restaurant door and confirmed our gushing praise for the restaurant, echoing others. These little gems can capstone a trip like a sweet kiss good night. Buon appetito!

I’ve been here a few times before, the staff are always very accommodating and their recommendations for wine is superb. We started with the octopus carpaccio, then had a Lobster Pasta, all the food is always fantastic and I am looking forward to visiting again

worst restaurant experience i've ever had. we came as a fairly large group of young girls, looking for a nice place to eat, knowing we could afford a decent meal as a treat but we have never been more underwhelmed and disappointed by this place. firstly, the food was decent- nothing special and definitely not worth the price for what we received. keep in mind a normal sized diet coke was £5.50!!!!!!!! the broccoli side plate was mid and could consider cooking it myself as was just soggy, boiled broccoli in a brothy liquid. pasta dishes was undercooked and hard. we were mistreated compared to other, older and more wealthy customers. we all felt very bellittled and looked down upon by all the staff. when we went to pay, we were charged a normal service charge AS WELL as a 'cover charge'. when asked about the cover charge, the waiter told us that we were paying for menus and table cloths. finally, we asked to split the bill so we could all pay for our individual food items. the woman serving us laughed out loud and told us that wasn't possible, when we know the card machine is one that we have used at work before, specifically for typing in different amounts for a bill. absolutely outrageous customer service and staff treatment, mortified by how they think this it's okay and after reading other reviews im seeing that other people have had similar experiences. furthermore, the prices online were different to the ones on the menu. not happy by the customer service and the food wasn't even brilliant for the food. please save your money and your dignity by avoiding this place.

This is with out a doubt the worst experience I have ever had in a restaurant. The staff laughed in our faces, lied to us and were rude and arrogant. We were a younger group of girls and strongly felt that we had a very different experience to others around us. The prices online are not what was displayed on the menu in store. We got charge what they called a 'cover charge' on top of service charge (which we would be happy to pay if there service was up to standards) this 'cover charge' we got told it was for table cloths and menus. My pasta was under cooked. finally when we went to pay they lady was extremely rude and sarcastic when she told us that 'it was not possible to split the bill not evenly as some people only got drinks. she lied and said it was not possible when the card machine that was used we use at our own work and know this is possible. leaving one of us to pay the whole bill and transfer separately. do not go here!!!

I am a student and went with a group of my friends as we thought this restaurant looked nice and seemed reasonably priced when we looked online, we sat down and the prices on the menu were a lot higher. We were of course still willing to pay but clearly weren't of the class that most customers were. We were unbothered by this until we felt we were getting treated COMPLETELY different to others in there. We were made to feel very out of place and like we shouldn't be there, We received the bill and asked to split it, we were met with a lady who was incredibly rude and told us this wouldn't be possible without explaining why? We agreed and had 1 person pay which made it more difficult for us and on top of this AND service charge, we were also charged a 'cover charge' (we had never heard of this) which apparently meant we were paying for table cloths and menus which any basic restaurant should provide for free. The money really wasn't the issue but the way we were made to feel, we wouldn't want anyone else to go through.

I would not recommend this restaurant. I am a student myself and felt frowned upon and looked down on. We had to pay 'cover charge' which they told us was the tablecloths and menus which should be provided for free by the restaurant as we was already paying service charge. I ordered broccoli with chilli and garlic, what I received was boiled hard broccoli in a pond of water covered in a few speckles of chilli flakes and two pieces of tiny chopped garlic on the side. this is absolutely disgraceful for the amount of money I was paying. The lady behind the bar had no manners towards us customers. She told us it was impossible for us to slip the bill, even though she had a card machine where you could type in the amount of money.

I am a student and had a terrible experience with all staff. I felt very looked down on and degraded and treated completely differently to elder more affluent customers and wasn’t subtle about this bias treatment. Also had to pay “cover charge” for table cloths and menu in addition to service charge which are basic resources which are a must in any food restaurant.When asked to split the bill they laughed in our face and said they can’t do, which is definitely not true as they use a basic machine i see in corner shops. Very rude and disrespectful and would not return.

Disrespectful manager. We were wandering around, looking for a restaurant, and just went in to ask if it was possible to get a table for 5 without a booking. The staff called their manager who came, looked at us, and said : "Not unless you are willing to spend £50 per head minimum. Thank you, goodbye" and walked away. We did the same, and reading the comments, I'm glad we did.

Tourist trap with hidden charges, food is basic at best, for the price they charge , it is not worth a visit.

I experienced horrible service and paid 55 pounds for a plate of white truffle pasta that was overly oily. The bread served was cold, and the burrata portion was extremely small. Additionally, the waitress accidentally dropped two forks and a plate on my coat, ruining it. I will not be returning and do not recommend this place.

Excellent, authentic Italian food. I was a late arrival (after 9:30pm) and was accommodated without any fuss. Great menu, really tasty food, lovely staff. Not the cheapest, but considering the quality it's very good value.

Food and service are perfect. Make your booking only by phone. Expect the restaurant to be full and consequently noisy. That’s because it’s so good. Be sure to try the house white and to end with the tiramisu.

The dining experience was average, lacking any notable highlights. Regrettably, the service provided was exceptionally unsatisfactory. It was evident that the manager/owner exhibited a disdainful and overbearing demeanor, which greatly affected the overall atmosphere. The staff appeared demoralized, as if they were constantly on edge. Consequently, I would not recommend this establishment for intimate gatherings or family outings. A regrettable miscommunication occurred between the manager and my partner, wherein he approached her in an inappropriate manner and unjustly shifted the blame onto her, rather than fulfilling his duty as a server. It was disheartening to witness his self-importance taking precedence over professional conduct. Given the multitude of alternative dining options in the vicinity, I strongly advise against patronizing this particular establishment.

I had the most delightful dining experience at Giovanni restaurant in Knightsbridge. From the moment I walked in, I was greeted with a warm and welcoming atmosphere. The menu offered a superb selection of Italian dishes and authentic. The ambiance was perfect for a romantic dinner or a special celebration. Velmi chutné Italské jídlo. Opravdu tradiční chutě. Obshluha byla spíše "svá" ale dodávala tomu atmesferu. Jediné mínus, že většina lidí před restaurací kouřilo.

Terrible experience. Had a disgusting insect in the dish. And they just took away the plate, said nothing, no compensation. Being so rude. And I even have to pay so much for this awful service . Nothing worse.

A very very very bad experience for me. Firstly, the staff there gave the wrong starter which we didn’t order. Then, we told the staff to get some bread but they didn’t give us until finished. Overall, it is difficult to get service in this restaurant. I felt it was a discrimination for us.

They gonna bring you a bread basket without telling you that it will cost you 2£ per person. The old guy (he is a manager or owner) was a bit aggressive. He served me and didn’t offer a specials of the day( I found out about specials when he was serving a nearest table). After they gonna put +12.5% to your bill (a service cost) without telling you anything about it. Don’t go here if you wanna spend a good time in London. Not recommended

What a find. Beautiful al fresco setting (as well as indoor) under heat lamps. Food quality amazing. The lobster pasta was a lovely tasty dish. Service was also good, polite and efficient with good knowledge of the menu and what to suggest. I appreciated the other clientele as well who were considerate towards their fellow guests and polite to all. A lovely find in a great hidden location - quiet and pretty for central london. Highly recommended for an evening meal al fresco with a great wine list and wonderful food.

We found this restaurant by accident and I'm so glad we did - the food was fabulous and the staff/owner were really nice. Really enjoyable Saturday afternoon lunch.

I came here a while back before I was vegan. The food was average. Now I hear there isn't a single vegan option on the menu, which is short sighted at best and at worst doing themselves out of business. Shame.

My wife and I eat here regularly. It is our absolute go to restaurant in London. Staff are friendly, welcoming and funny. Amazing for gluten free as well.

Horrible service . I Would give it a zero if I could. It was overall a very bad experience. The manager specially was very rude , the worst customer service I have ever experienced to be honest . The food is mediocre for the price and to make it even worse it is not even close to authentic. You should not call your self a Italian resturant as only the name is Italian! Definitely not a place I would visit again ..Come here if you want attitude!!

Good food, great servers but the owner is rude, arrogant, pompous and has no manners. Avoid him. We will never go back. Plus they bring you bread you don’t ask for and charge you for it, for the napkins and table cloths. Insane

It was odd. Upon entering, we were greeted by an older man who seated us. A young, very busy man bouncing around came over and gave us menus. We spent a moment looking and ordered two mushroom pastas, a bottle of sparkling water, two coke zeros and extra bread. The pastas took ages, the bread popped up after a lady waitress realised we hadn't got it yet and the same with the sparkling water. No coke zeros ever made it to the table. Pasta was fairly basic and tasted fine. When asked by the last waitress would we like dessert we declined as we needed to catch a train and to please fetch the bill. A minute after she left to do so the bouncy waiter came over with dessert menus. Strange experience, the lady waiter and older man were lovely. The bouncy waiter was just odd, service was sparse from him and overall the experience was lackluster.

AVOID! AVOID ! AVOID ! Dined here last week, and even though we clearly ordered platters for everyone, the waiter didn't put some of the orders through with the chefs. After all that waiting, we then got were OVERBILLED! Realised after, that we overpaid more than £100, I tried to contact them to ask for a full receipt and menu prices to compare against what I've ordered but there is no way to contact them. Their email address is non existent and they are not answering phone calls. P.S - One of the waiter seemed it's on crack like he was running around and bumping into tables and chairs like a headless chicken. Please avoid

Brilliant food great atmosphere 👌

The food was up to my expectation, but what I found annoying was I heard the manager and waitresses laughing when I ordered a cup of coffee before the meal. Please be advised that in some cultures, coffee would be a legitimate drink to accompany a formal meals, and after all, one doesn’t need to justify at all why ordering a certain thing. Please show more respect to customers.

Best meal we've had in London so far!

Food was good, but everytime we order we have to follow up otherwise the food/drinks are not coming…ordered 2 glasses of champagne and leave us waiting only to find out that it’s not coming at all, (understood that servers can be busy, but they were just chitchatting with their friends whose dining too and others just keep fixing table rather than serving the food and drinks).If they can’t serve anymore because it’s late they could’ve just tell us, ended up just asking for the bill and leaving with disappointment.

Despite the efforts of the waiter from Campania, who was extremely kind and pleasnt, the dining experience was bad. One of the worst pastas I have ever had in my life, completely overcooked and with the addition of cream (!) in a fish sauce. I am sure the cook is not from Italy otherwise he should throw away his passport. Pricey for the low quality of food.

Older gentleman taking orders was fantastic. Food not bad. Service from all other staff an absolute joke, no hospitality. They store the wine away from the table, out of sight, which is not comforting, especially when you’re not drinking quickly, the staff appear to be tipsy and your 2 bottles of wine disappear in an hour and a half, even more bizarre when your glass is empty for half the time because they’re not topping up glasses diligently. Cover charge just to rub salt in the wound too.

Always a favourite. It comes into its own once the weather gets warmer and they can open the patio doors.

They have terrific table setting but terrible service and staff. Staff was unfriendly and no service etiquette.

We wanted to eat out last minute on a Friday evening and were welcomed into the restaurant by friendly staff. The service was efficient and the atmosphere buzzy. The veal was delicious. Gnocchi ragu was tasty. Potatoes were just okay. We will be back ;-)

Amazing food, great service our favorite restaurant in London

We are a family with a nine year old son who visited this excellent restaurant on a Sunday. The restaurant is in a nice neighborhood and looks good from the outside, and the restaurant is also very good inside. It’s an open kitchen so we could se the chefs in action. We had todays special and our son had the pasta with panchetta and mushroom, it all tasted magnificent and was served quickly. We also had olives and bread before the dinner which was good. We also had desserts which were super. Tiramisu, pannacotta and chocolate soufflé. The service was good and the prices as well. All in all a very good experience during our long weekend in London.

Absolutely brilliant place! Last night we took over the restaurant for my birthday party - it was the best evening of my life! The staff and service were impeccable and made everything easy and fun! Delicious food (which arrived promptly despite there being so many of us) and even more delicious wine! Thank you everyone at Giovanni’s!!!!!

A cafeteria not a restaurant in a great hurry the pasta special very mediocre at £38 ridiculously overpriced the Dover sole dry and overcooked The pudding creme brûlée tasted of gelatine only had one spoonful and left the rest . Cost £120 per head Will not revisit

Food delicious, nice place I really liked the seafood pasta However watch out when they say to you we have special of the day. I took calamari as appetizer. Because it wasn’t in the menu cost me higher than the main course. They wrote it in the bill as special (19.50£) where the main course was (18.50£). Overall was nice place.

Very bad service. Besides the barman, who was polite and friendly, the manager and the waiters ignored us and were rude. Unless you are willing to spend a lot, they treat you as of you were a burden, a waste of space or nonexistent. We were unable to order desserts because no one would take our orders.

I went for dinner with my husband on a weekday evening before 6pm without reservation, but the restaurant has lots of tables at that time so they let us in and mentioned a minimum charges of 40 pounds for each person which is totally fine to us. However there are few things I want to share 1. they sent me wrong main course after 25 minutes waiting, it’s because of the server didn’t take our order properly, he likes talking with other servers when he is working. I would suggest if you don’t have a good memory but like to keep chit chat with your friends, please do bring some paper with you! 2. I just need to wait for another 5 minutes the food came , it’s super fast because they just reheat in microwave and put the lobster on top. 3.We finished and wanted to get the bill, and surprisingly all the servers and even the owner are eating at one of the table in the restaurant! Okay May be they are super hungry and cannot wait and would like to eat at the same time with other guests! And i asked several times “excuse me” they pretend they didn’t hear and finally one server looked at me say “ we are eating”!!! OMG should I apologize for interrupting your dinner? If so please put a sign tell your guests “please do not disturb”. I feel this is ridiculous! Honestly the food is okay but the service is poor and unprofessional. Even 1 star is not deserved.

Place is small and noisy. Food is overall mediocre Italian. We got the crab ravioli and were sick that same night... definitely would not recommend.

Delicious food. Would of awarded 5 stars had the service been friendlier. One young waiter was very nice and efficient, however the other two (one being the manager or owner) didn't smile once and came across quite rude. Such a shame as the food really was excellent.

Was going to book a table for Friday but having read the review about this restaurant not being a child friendly environment I think we will go elsewhere cos I'm already going through alot and wouldn't want to be ridiculed the way that new mum was. No thanks.
