Gingerman is tucked away in Norfolk Square and is just under a mile from Brighton station, with Hove station a further half mile distant. We had booked a late table for 9.15 on a Friday evening and the restaurant was quite full when we arrived....

Burger Brothers

30/05/2018: My son ensured me he would travel from London to Brighton to have their burgers. So we did and I must say it is pretty special, one of the best burgers I’ve ever had. Delicious , we had the classic, the meat paddy was juicy, the bun complimented the whole burger. A definite must.
07/05/2018: We arrived just after it opened and there was already 10 people ahead of was very excited. I ordered a double burger with spicey cheese. Walked 10 minutes to the sea side to enjoy on beach. One of the nicest burgers i have had and well worth the reasonable price for the good quality. 2 double burgers and two cans of pepsi max was £19.

02/07/2018: First ever visit here for lunch, lovely summery menu full of seasonal ingredients, with lots of heat appropriate dishes, like salads, chilled soups and fish. I stuck to the set menu and had a really fresh, pea, broad bean and mozzarella salad made with good quality mozzarella. For my main I had mackerel with new potatoes and rainbow chard. Clearly skilled at fish preparation as I didn’t find any bones in the mackerel which is no mean feat. Woody stems on chard though, I know the colours look pretty but it’s no good if you can’t cut through them let alone eat them. Also menu said new potatoes but when it came they were fried new potatoes, so more accurate descriptions please. My partner also had a fish dish, sea bass which was great but the crab ravioli it came with was cold. We shared a dessert of chilled chocolate fondant with raspberry ripple ice-cream which was OK, then had a really smooth coffee. It was an extremely hot day when we went so full credit goes to the kitchen for producing an excellent meal under these conditions. Overall we loved our meal, yes there were a few silly mistakes but we will definitely come back here, real hidden gem, very easily overlooked. Great wines and cocktails here too.
15/07/2018: Had lunch here on a Saturday. Very friendly service. Food was of a very high standard. The lamb is especially good.
