Had Easter dinner with family, was delicious 🤤

Went to this place as it’s local to me, previous meals in it ages ago were not great which turned me away from it for a while, however after going in for a drink or two and seeing the new food I had to try it out. Weekend before valentines went in and was called a “regular” by the server (I don’t know if that’s good or not because I’d only been drinking in it before going in for food 😂😂) Sat down for my meal and got a chicken wing starter and it was delightful, partner had a Caesar salad, and while there’s not much interesting you can do with a Caesar salad, she was very impressed. For main I decided to get a steak sandwich, now when I get steak sandwiches, I’m very picky with the steaks, however I was greatly surprised with a perfectly cooked steak, crispy beautiful bread and the sauce was amazing. Got garlic skinny fries with it and they were delightful. My partner got honey chilli chicken, and I had to steal some from her to make the review more well rounded, and I have to say, it was lovely, breaded well, sauce was nice and overall the food was good. If you are looking for fresh, warm food. Definitely stop in here for a bite to eat!

Gilmore restaurant is spacious. Well set out..staff very attentive and pleasant..a good variety on the menu.Food was very nice. Toilet check....spotless. Receptionist was very friendly and helpful.. Attended a concert..seats were comfortable but room was very cold upon doors opening.. Seats reserved..dont like this as it makes one think that a certain people's money is better than others. Doesn't look well on the promoter... Overall a nice hotel..very clean

We had our wedding here on Sunday and it was absolutely amazing from start to finish the staff were absolutely amazing and done everything to make the day stress free for myself and my wife. Fiona went above and beyond for us. and the lady who was on the desk at front off house was also very helpful and very friendly. We couldn't recommend this place enough for a wedding venue. Staff are amazing, venue is amazing and grounds are amazing. just an amazing day all round. Thanks so much to everyone involved. Jenna and William

We had our wedding reception here 25 years ago lots of changes in that time for the Millbrook but all for the better.

Brought the family for an evening meal, the welcome, service, attention of staff and the meal was excellent. Second to none.

Went for a wedding. Staff were very good. Bedroom and bathroom were both good and spacious and bed was comfy, although the room was too hot. Wedding reception room was very good with plenty of room to dance. Food was average.

The service at the restaurant was poor, poor breakfast, lazy chef, grey food, steamed, not friend.

No idea if the rooms are nice but went here for a wedding fair and had a nice drink in the bar/restaurant. I expected them to be funny about us just having a drink in the restaurant as we weren't eating, but they were very accommodating. The grounds of the hotel are lovely.

Was at my friend's daughter and son-in-laws wedding on Saturday 25/09/21 had the most amazing day from start to finish ,the food was delicious,the staff were very friendly and helpful notthing was to much trouble for them ,would definitely recommend this place ,hopefully be back someday

Service was a bit slow. As it was lunch time I would have expected it a bit punchier. There was little communication to let me know how long it would take or when I could expect my meal. I was nearly late to a funeral I was attending due to the wait The food, a quiche, was nice but not a lot of it; about the diameter of a cup! However all that aside the staff were lovely. Very friendly.

My Fiancé and I came across Millbrook on Bride book in June. We were out for a drive and thought we would pop in to have a look around. We didn’t have a booking to view the venue so would have understood if it wasn’t possible, however the staff were very accommodating. We were shown around by Patricia who was very knowledgeable. We later returned with my parents, and again nothing was too much for the staff. We booked a dinner for my grandparent’s 50th wedding anniversary. The staff were so attentive and interacted well with all guests, especially the little ones. Everyone loved the meal and kept commenting on how quick the service was, especially for a busy Saturday night. My fiancé and myself have just returned from a nights stay. The staff were so welcoming from start to finish, they really made us feel like royalty. Nothing was too much to ask, and they went out of their way to make us feel special. In particular, huge thanks to Caitlin who had served us breakfast and afternoon tea today, making sure we were always topped up with tea and had everything we needed. Caitlin is the visual representation of the saying ‘service with a smile’. Overall, beautiful venue and gardens especially at night when the fairy lights come on. The staff are a real credit to the hotel. 5* service and food. We really couldn’t recommend Millbrook highly enough.

Gorgeous estate and hotel. Beautiful scenery and food was lovely. Was very disappointed in the service. It was very slow and we had to ask staff after 15mins can we order drinks. It was busy for a Wednesday but sensed other tables weren't happy with overall service. Although wouldn't let it put anyone off as food was gorgeous.

Attended a wedding at the Millbrook Lodge recently and I cannot recommend this venue enough. The setting was perfect, the accommodation was excellent, and the service was superb. The staff were very pleasant and nothing was too much trouble for them. The hotel promoted social distancing and the hand sanitizing facilities were abundant and clearly sign posted. The staff adhered to the wearing of masks when serving which helped the guests feel safe. The food was delicious and the service at the meal was fast, unobtrusive and extremely professional and efficient. The setting was beautiful and the photographic opportunities were numerous. I am aware that the bride and groom were given ample opportunity to discuss their requirements at several meetings prior to the main event to ensure their wishes were being catered for. This meant that they had a personal relationship with the hotel management and this ensured that they were confident of support on the day which greatly reduced their stress level during their wedding day always an important facet at such times. The morning after breakfast for guests who stayed over was delicious. The food on offer was varied and again the service was excellent. The wedding date was unfortunately adversely affected by COVID-19 and throughout all the uncertainty of this time the Management of the hotel remained in close contact with the bride and groom working with them to reschedule the date to the best and most appropriate time. In conclusion I would definitely recommend this venue for its service, friendliness, efficiency and the quality of the accommodation. I listed it as a 5 Star venue and it truly lives up to this standard.

My daughters wedding was held at the Millbrook at the weekend. The hotel is lovely, grounds amazing, food beautiful. The staff were friendly, helpful and went out of there way to assist in any way they could. Will be back. Thank you for making the day special.

Attending a wedding. Beautiful venue, Beautiful wedding, food was decent enough but some of the staff had a really bad attitude. I had a member off staff come up to me and another guest and curse at us. We spoke to a senior member of staff about the issue and still did not receive an apology. Would not not go purely because of ignorant staff

We recently attended a wedding reception in Millbrook Lodge. The grounds are beautiful, with plenty of photo opportunities. Service was excellent, food was delicious and staff were friendly and efficient. Will consider calling in for lunch when next in the area.

Couldn't recommend this Hotel highly enough. We were there on a Saturday night and it was extremely busy but despite this There was plenty of staff and they were all so friendly and very helpful. The food was just amazing and good portion sizes as well. Definitely 5*

On Saturday 12th June, myself and my husband celebrated our wedding here. We had both our ceremony and reception at the Millbrook Lodge. I couldn’t fault our day one bit, outstanding service from the staff especially Gerty & Sinead who have went above and beyond for us, not only on our special day but the last 12 months. Gerty & Sinead don’t get enough credit for what they do, especially behind the scenes. Our wedding day was everything we could of dreamed of, I wish we could do it over again. So thank you so much Millbrook Lodge for helping us achieve our dream day. 5 stars isn’t enough to rate yous! Love Mr & Mrs Gardiner ❤️

Had a family meal there last night. Overall good food and friendly staff. We're able to accommodate special requests. Reason the haven't got 5 stars from me is the apple crumble one of the part ordered came out cold and had to be sent back to be heated.

I recently stayed here for a family wedding. It was a disaster from start to finish. We arrived after church and had no idea where to go. We were told to go into a reception room that was not even set up for the drinks and food reception. The food and drinks did not arrive for a further hour. Management had no inclination of how to do their jobs. No greetings for guests or meal call. All details had been arranged prior to the wedding yet seating plan was thrown up on a mirror. No music in the background when all of this had been arranged. Courses were delayed and staff started cleaning up at 8pm and asking guests to move to other tables so they could set up for the morning. Overall, a very disappointing experience. Hotel clearly needs restructuring at present, it is disorganised and lacking any efficiency with handling a function of any size. I will not be back.

Extremely disorganised hotel. Meal served more than one hour later than scheduled with overly long waits between each course. Unwelcoming staff did not make guests feel welcome at all and made no effort whatsoever. Poor atmosphere - felt like the hotels first day of operating and to use a Wedding Reception as what seemed like rehearsal was disgraceful. Staff seemed oblivious to provide really basic requirements such as background music facilities and had to be asked to bring in the equipment- then didn’t know how to work it, even though this was all prearranged. Hotel insisted on seating plans and individual meals to be confirmed before event, then didn’t bother using them on the day. Coloured table seating plans provided - Millbrook decided to print them out in black and white and display on folded up paper - very unprofessional. Red carpet arrival prearranged and didn’t happen. Staff aware of issues and didn’t seem bothered at all with no effort made to rectify the series of shortcomings. Overall a very disappointing service for a local hotel and I won’t be in any hurry back. I certainly wouldn't recommend the Millbrook.

Millbrook hotel is a pure dump would not advise anyone to stay there. Service is terrible and so is management that runs it. They all need to go back and upskill. Not up to 3 star hotel standards

We had recently booked to have our wedding reception at the Millbrook only for it to be postponed due to the latest lockdown. They very kindly allowed us use of the grounds for some photos on the Wedding Day and even greeted us with a glass of bubbles and a warm welcome on our arrival. The team there are so welcoming and pleasant to deal with, and the venue itself is a perfect setting for a celebration. We are very excited about going back when the restrictions are eased and celebrating there!

Amazing christmas dinner with all covid 19 precautions in place. Very well organised.

Limited choice overpriced lunch menu. House wine £24 a bottle! Slow and rushed service. Social distancing poor (2 of our seats were laid out less than 1 metre from other guests, so we moved them) Pleasant surroundings and some dishes were good. Overall a poor experience, not recommended.

I didn't stay at the Millbrook had a lovely meal tonight with my husband. Absolutely lovely staff from the girl on reception to the guy who seats you and all the lovely young servers so pleasant. We had our wedding reception here on 4 July 1986 such nice memories.

Stayed here for two nights overall the room is beautiful and the bed was comfy, quiet and lovely surroundings, 2 minor issues that annoyed me, 1 soap dispenser above the sink didnt work I reported it to one of the room cleaners and it wasnt fixed. I bought my own hand shop gel. 2 I noticed on the afternoon of our first night that there was an empty crisp packet stuffed down the side of the bedside unit are these rooms cleaned regularly or properly.

Very friendly family run hotel who where kind when I had car trouble. I'll definitely be giving them a visit very soon for some lovely food 😁 Thank you 👍

Very bad recent experience, still waiting on follow up call from manager! Gluten free diet is not a lifestyle choice, it is a necessity for 3 people in our party of 10. We did not appreciate the unprofessional comments from female restaurant manager.

Friendly, welcoming staff in pleasant surroundings. New menu a bit fancy for my taste but still do a couple of traditional dishes so satisfied. Would recommend a visit for a pleasant unhurried experience.

We had our wedding here in November 2019. From 2oclock in the afternoon until 1am in the morning everything was perfect. The staff were friendly and professional. The food was fantastic. The wedding ceremony was held indoors, and I have to say, I would have been lost if it were not for the entertainments manager Brendan, who never left my side and kept me calm. We had 110 guests and everyone commented on how great the Wedding was the meal was and how well the whole event turned out. Again, a big shout out to Brendan and the staff who made it a day to remember for all the right reasons. Definitely would recommend.

For the price of the rooms (paid 75, looked like 150) they were stunning. Lovely bathrooms and the building in general. Stunning food in the restaurant and excellent bar. 8 pints later i think the bed was comfortable, it was used but that all i know!
