Giggling Squid Chichester in Chichester

previously booked a dinner here for my sisters birthday, unfortunately arrived late due to the theatre running over the specified time. The staff were very friendly and stayed open for us. One of our waitresses was very rude, and clearly wasn't as welcoming as the others. Decor was lovely and the food tasted brilliant. However, the one star rating, we all ordered a mixture of meat and fish, for starters and mains, and we all ended up with severe seafood poisoning, i myself was so sick, that i didn't stop, well, you know, for 3 days straight and had to call an ambulance for then passing out from it. Now what i suspect, is that as we were the last people and they stayed open a bit longer just for us because of the show running late, they didn't cook the food properly. Either way, it certainly ruined the birthday and the plans thereafter and we won't be returning again.

Disappointing. Been here before and enjoyed it but this time not so much. The table mats were dirty and covered in curry, service was slow and the portion size for a £15.50 curry (no rice) was paltry. The green curry had no kick to it and tasted like it came out of a packet- it lacked the fresh flavours you find in authentic thai food. Meh.

Made a delivery order and some 20£ of items were missing. How difficult is it to read the order and match what put inside the bag? Aside from the money, family members were left without their mains.

The whole family (9 of us) went there for a significant birthday for my daughter. It took a while to decide what we all wanted, as the menu was extensive. However, everything arrived fairly quickly and nobody had the slightest disappointment in what they received. Not cheap, but definitely worth the money.

Ordered a take away, pad Thai, one with prawns, one with chicken, the chicken dish was cold, had 3 pieces only & about the size of my little finger nail, the noodles were greasy & egg was thick & slimy, spoke to the manager & was told it was a deliveroo issue!!! So the delivery driver turned up at giggling squid & attempted to cook the dish? The chef whoever that was is amateur at best & the manager completely useless, avoid ordering a takeaway from these cowboys at all costs

Monday night dinner with friends. Food was tasty and service great! The melting beef was really nice. And can’t go wrong with a chicken pad Thai!

Great food. Had my usual of chicken panang curry which was delicious as per. Also shared pad Thai which again was great. Service was good and food came hot and quickly.

Packed to the rafters on a Saturday night - lovely to see so many people out - haven't seen it buzzing like this since before COVID days. Three friends having a catch up. Very noisy though - hard to hear each other. We waited a long time for food - free crackers were provided as an apology and staff attentive. Chicken Green Curry was good - the same as always. Veggie Cashew Nut Curry was a favourite and the Veggie Massaman was good. Pad Thai was declared OK but not as good as another Thai in Chichester. Fresh mint tea was divine.

Barry was excellent and friendly. He guided us on the menu and helped us chose the best dishes today. Would definitely come back again

Actually ordered a takeaway, chicken pad Thai, was delivered, cold greasy & 3 pieces of chicken the size of my little finger nail, called the manager & was told to contact deliveroo, I obviously wasn't aware that deliveroo were responsible for making sure a chicken dish contained chicken!!!! Thanks to the useless manager & an incompetent chef

Food was excellent good menu and vert tasty.

A lovely meal, super knowledgeable about allergies and we were not rushed at all. Portions were great. Staff were all friendly! My only gripe is that I wasn’t given the bill before tapping my card; it was there and I could have asked for it. I then didn’t look at it properly and service charge had been added. I normally tip anyway, but having already paid service charge, the total tapped came to almost £100 and then I left a £15 cash tip. Meaning my total tip was around 27%. It just left me with a bad feeling. It also made an expensive (lovely meal), very expensive. Our actual food/drink total was £87.30

I have certain allergies and the staff went above and beyond to find me a dish so helpful and very informative..highly recommended

Flagship for the Giggling Squid set of restaurants. Nicely decorated, vibrant with a good atmosphere on a Saturday night. However, no crackers!! Not sure how that happens but the rest of the food was delicious and filling.

Thai restaurant in Chichester close to East street. Can have tapas style dishes. Tasty food, pleasant surroundings and good service.

Best in Chichester!!! If you want to have a Thai food just make your dinner book it anyway I recommend it for everyone xxx

I find it hard to believe we have lived close to Chichester 19 years and never found this place. If you like Thai food, they have a great choice. Lovely food, friendly staff and great ambience.

Lovely ambiance and decor, waiter Barry attentive, but not intrusive. Food really tasty authentic Thai. Can not fault anything will definitely be back. Lunch Tapas a great way to try a few choices.

We ordered via Deliveroo a Giggling Squid dinner. It arrived promptly but the food was utterly inedible. The sticky rice was like glue and the three curries (red curry, peneang and massaman) we more like soup with ¾ liquid and ¼ meat and veg. Absolutely awful. I phoned the restaurant to complain and they had zero sympathy and told me to contact Deliveroo to complain which I did. Deliveroo have told us that they will not refund the £64.17 that we paid for food that we couldn't eat. I have videos of the inedible rice and curry so have added still photo's on this review. Avoid Giggling Squid and Deliveroo at all costs unless you are partial to disgusting food and being ripped off by the restaurant and Deliveroo.

Went to giggling squid yesterday with my gf the food and drinks were class and the service was even better. I ordered something and they came to let me know it was out of stock and as it was their mistake I could pick something for free. And as someone who works in hospitality I know they don’t have to do that and just appreciated the effort they went through. The manager in there was very polite and gave good service as well as everyone else but particularly him. Would recommend

We have visited at least 10 times now and we absolutely love the food - but in our opinion it is pipped at the post by the best service staff we have ever come across!! One good server is great but we have been served by at least 6 different staff members and they have all been blooming brilliant. We rate service on a par with food so for us the GS offers the total customer experience package. My only complaint....when will they open in Lymington???

I absolutely love this place. The food is always delicious, so authentic to the cuisine, served in a timely manner and the staff is always welcoming and with a great attitude through the time we're there. The only downside is that the building where the restaurant is placed, does not have parking. You can park, though, at the Cattle Market, but if it is raining you'll definitely need an umbrella!!

We visited on Christmas Eve evening at 7pm. . We have eaten here on a regular basis but we’re very disappointed with the meal served up. The crispy fish was over cooked there were 2 mussels on the plate that were unopened the squid was incredibly underdone and the sauce was so salty it burned your mouth. I feel very disappointed as I was so looking forward to going back there. I appreciate it was Christmas Eve and that it might be difficult to get the staff but this needs attention as I feel I would think twice before visiting again

As an avid Giggling Squid patron, this is always our go to with friends. We have used the take away service a few times now and every time it’s a fail. This is because the food is always cold. So, this time, I ordered the food for 6:45 and turned up at 6:30 knowing it would be ready, even though it shouldn't. Bang on the money, it was already prepared, meaning it must have been made immediately on order. The food was absolutely grim and I’m embarrassed to have invited friends over after raving about it, to receive cold slop. If we had turned up at the allotted time, I would have put the food straight in the bin. We ended up microwaving it, absolutely rank. Lesson learnt after time 4 of the same experience. AVOID Giggling Squid Take Away SERVICE!

Delicious food from starter though until the dessert. The duck spring rolls, and money bags were fab, I had sticky chicken with jasmine rice but had food envy of my husband's and son's crispy and slow cooked beef, they were swooning over it. I end my meal with the mini salted caramel souffle perfect sweet bite after big meal. The staff were lovely and knew the menu well and offered suggestions. The bill automatically included a 10% tip which is very reasonable. We'll definitely be coming back to the Giggling Squid in Chichester.

Would I eat and drink there again, 'yes blooming please'. A little taste sensation and my taste buds have been spoilt.

Re-visited GS after a not so great trip to Guildford. So so happy to say, Chichester did not disappoint. Lovely restaurant and ambience and the food was delicious. Thank you for restoring my faith in the restaurant chain.

Restaurant was buzzing! But i guess its a good sign! We had an amazing experience at this restaurant. Food was really good, had pad thai, penang curry and cashew nut chicken. The only downside was, my family ordered rum and whiskey coconut icecream, but only coconut ice cream arrived. Then was told that rum and whiskey weren’t available. That should’ve been told earlier when we ordered it, as it was the reason why we got it at the first place! Other than dessert, this restaurant didn’t disappoint.

Really warm welcome. The staff were lovely and helpful. The pork belly and wings to start were amazing! 3 people had the squid bits and weren’t impressed as it was just bits of deep fried batter so maybe give that a miss. Mains - duck without a doubt the best dish of the table. Chicken Pad Thai was nice. Although more than 4 bits of chicken would be nice and less Tofu. Had a really enjoyable evening. Thank you!

Had a fabulous meal here! Food was fantastic as always, cocktails are some of the best around and an expansive interesting selection unlike many places. The pork dumplings are amazing. Very disappointing meal. 3 prawns in a prawn Thai curry is not really a prawn curry! My husband ordered the pork dish but it was lamb that arrived, which we questioned but apparently the chef confirmed it was pork…. Having lived for as long as we have, we know what lamb looks and tastes like and it was lamb! Style over substance we felt and we wouldn’t recommend it or be back!

We came here on a Saturday evening for dinner. We were greeted by a lovely smiling face who showed us to our table and assured someone would be with us shortly whilst we decided on drinks. The girl who waited on us for the evening was also very cheerful, friendly, funny and helpful. The food was amazing! Full of flavour, the meat was cooked perfectly and despite being a busy saturday night it was brought out in good time. Both my colleague and myself had a lot to say as we left. Thank you!
