Yet again a very enjoyable evening with very good quality food and excellent service. Your consistency is a credit to you. Thankyou to you all.

Fantastic restaurant. Food is a delight and excellent wine served as well. A really good restaurant for that special meal.

I've been going to this family run restaurant for a few years now. The food is excellent and the wine list is as varied as it is reasonably priced. The ongoing selection of daily fish specials is to be applauded and they are cooked to perfection. Giacomo takes pride in his cooking and the staff are attentive, friendly and helpful without being overbearing. Theme nights with music and entertainment are huge fun. Bookings essential especially for the weekend. Looking forward to my next visit.

Pleasant atmosphere and food was nice, but complete rip-off prices for basic Italian food so very disappointed!

My wife and I had been to Giacomo’s well before the pandemic and the visit had not encouraged us to return. However, this time we were invited guests to a lunch party and it was a delightful surprise to really enjoy the service, ambience and food. My brother was the host and he treated our small family group of 6 to Bollinger Special Cuvee champagne on arrival at 12noon (the restaurant had sensibly suggested a 12noon start rather than 12.30pm to ensure good service). The menu was full of popular dishes that found favour with everyone. Perhaps the best was the surprise bowl of tempura battered fresh jumbo prawns delivered to the table as an antipasto for all. Eaten with a squeeze of lemon they were crisp, flavourful and simply delicious and enough for 4 or 5 each. Could not have been bettered at a Michelin star restaurant in London! I had the Shetland mussels. Large fleshy and fresh steamed with garlic, white wine, parsley, tomatoes with and a hint of fresh chilli. The remaining tomato broth with slivers of onion and fennel was rich and unctuous – a great change from the mariniere version. The ladies enjoyed the Crab & Avocado Crostini made with lemon-seasoned crushed avocado with a touch of tabasco and Worcestershire sauce lavished on to Apulian toasted bread topped with handpicked Brixham white crab meat. For my main course, I chose the Fegato alla Veneziana - calves liver pan fried with sage, onions, white wine on a bed of creamy mash with crispy pancetta and a side of the restaurant’s famous zucchine fritte. More wonderfully light and crisp tempura batter encasing small pieces of courgette. By the time the pudding trolley was trundled across the restaurant, most of us were feeling quite full but my brother, game to the finish, had the sticky and sweet rum babas and the birthday girl had a slice of cheesecake which arrived with a candle. This was a marvellous lunch, professionally presented and served and I would not now hesitate to return. Well done to all at Giacomos.

Can’t comment on the food. Arrived on a very quiet Wednesday night and my husband and I got turned away as my husband was wearing shorts. Apparently they have a dress code of smart causal which wasn’t mentioned when we emailed to book. My husband was wearing chino shorts and a smart shirt and boat shoes, so smart causal. Also let’s not forget it’s the middle of summer. But because he was wearing shorts we were turned away. We won’t bother going back!

This is my second review of this excellent restaurant, and since 5 years, and a global pandemic have passed since I last commented, it seemed as though time was right for a follow up. I am pleased to report that this restaurant has remained extremely consistent over the years, and, although I live in the US, I eat here at least a couple of times a year when visiting family. It has never disappointed, from the effusive and warm welcome to the outstanding food and service. I don't have a whole lot to add to my review from 2016 as the consistency is so noticeable. The menu does change slightly and there are always specials that are brought to the table and discussed with you. I like that the favorites I have ordered here over the years remain on the menu so that the experience can be relived should one so desire. Arancini is excellent as always but on my latest visit I sampled the anti-pasti plate which was replete with wonderful cuts of flavorsome meats with a very generous portion to boot. There was a different veal on the menu this time but it was excellent and served with slightly spiced bolognese side which complemented the flavors on offer very well. Service, as ever, attentive and friendly and this seems to be very much a family affair. I am delighted it weathered the pandemic and one can still appreciate the delightful dining room that is airy and leads out onto a patio where several diners were enjoying their lunch on a lovely summers day. Lunch is a good bet here but note they have an admirable policy of closing the dining room at 3 to allow staff time to relax and reset for evening service. If you are a late lunch diner, bear this in mind before booking. Highly recommend it. They have certainly not lost their touch over the years.

During the day I recieved a welcome text confirming of our table reservation. Dress code was mentioned which I scanned over. Very hot day so wore smart shorts. When arrived the waitress said you can't where shorts but said she would check, totally my fault. However chef/owner came out, made light of it and guided us to our table. The food, wine and service was fantastic, really fantastic. When the waiter presented us with the bill he said we have only charged you £50 for the shorts, great touch and cracked me up.

Two of us arrived for lunch today (waiting for another couple) and were warmly and charmingly greeted by the wait staff. Then - the chef appeared and immediately started a rant about the four of us arriving in separate cars (we all arrived from different directions but that's none of his business) and 'taking up all his parking spaces'. I did think it was maybe a bit of a joke, but it soon became clear he was absolutely serious. We waited for our friends to arrive, having decided not to go elsewhere (as he had suggested). He was asked to apologise and he made a reluctant and blatantly insincere apology. His staff appeared to also be rather embarrassed by his self-styled 'impetuosity’ and it seemed that this might not have been an isolated incidence. Everything else was nothing short of perfect - service, food, ambience - but the chef's outburst did spoil our experience. Very unlikely to recommend to anyone again, and highly likely to go elsewhere, as chef suggested. Such a shame.

After numerous visits to this restaurant (and, indeed, doing our bit to keep them afloat during lockdown by collecting regular takeaways from them), we won't be going back after being treated terribly by the owners on our last visit. I had booked a table for four people via their website for a Saturday evening and included a comment that it was to celebrate both myself and my mother's birthday. I received a reply that started "Thank you for your email, no problem for a table for 4 people at 7.15pm on Saturday" (see attached photo). Saturday came a few days later and we headed, all dressed up, to the restaurant to be told by a lady working there that they had given our table away since we "did not pay the £10 per person deposit"! So we were left high and dry on a Saturday night, ringing around local restaurants trying to find availability somewhere - not an easy feat on a Saturday night and indeed, we didn't find anywhere local that had availability. I emailed the restaurant a few days later so say how disappointed we were to be treated this way after supporting this business numerous times over the years and that my parents had travelled a long distance to come to this restaurant since it has so many happy memories for us. I explained, sending them the same screenshot I've included here, that their email appeared as so in my inbox so I didn't 'click into it' since it appeared there was no need to given they'd confirmed the table in the first sentence. I also mentioned that they could have called me to check we were still coming if they were worried, and I'd have been happy to pay any deposit they wanted. I pointed out that their deposit rule was clearly new, but yet they had not updated their website to require that credit card details are inputted at the time of booking. On not being prompted to input my card details on their website, and after years of bookings at this restaurant without being asked for a deposit, I had no reason to believe this had suddenly changed. Instead of taking any responsibility for what they did to us, the owner replied to my email to say that they had introduced the deposit scheme 2 years ago (which is untrue as we last visited last year - also for a family birthday - and I had not been asked to pay a deposit then) and passive-aggressively said: "I'm sorry you didn't read the email properly". They also pointed out "We are not here to lose business". Unbelievable! Lose business is exactly what they will do - and have done - with an attitude like this. Had they offered us a genuine apology and some way of making us feel better about the fact they didn't bother to call us when they assumed, wrongly, that we no longer wanted a table we had booked in good faith in the same way we had booked on numerous other occasions, then we'd have considered dining with them again.

The best service we have ever had. Super attention to detail on every level and the food was charming.

We were given a warm welcome upon arrival and service throughout was impeccable, attentive, friendly and unrushed. We were given a fabulous window table overlooking the garden. The food was simply delicious, I still can’t stop talking about their rump of lamb. My partner had the scallops special starter and the skate wing to follow. To tempt us further a desert trolley was wheeled to us showing the deserts of the day. Will definitely be back soon.

We regularly eat at Giacomos. Our favourite restaurant in the Sevenoaks area. The food is fabulous Italian, no nonsense and first class . Over the years we have eaten here we have never had a course which was any less than delicious. The wines too are very good the house fiano and Giacomos prestige red are top rate. The staff are always friendly and happy to engage in conversation when they sense it is appreciated. The prices have moved with the times but we find it still offers great value for money. A lovely real Italian restaurant with great food which is always busy. We will continue to visit whilst standards are maintained.

In these torrid Covid times we were very thankful that Giacamos had reopened . We booked a table for lunch and arrived at our booked time . Temperature was taken hands washed so we went to our table . Service was excellent as usual with “granddad “ looking after us . We had a main prawn dish which we shared as our starter - fantastic!! My wife had lobster linguine for main ( half a lobster) and I had veal , both truly delicious!! The cost of this was better than reasonable. Everything to do with this restaurant is first class. If you have never been to Giacamos then you are certainly missing out .

At last Giacomos is back open. This is a truly a first class, fine dining restaurant , every bit as good as the best Authentic Italian Restaurant, 'anywhere in the World'.The atmosphere is superb, the staff are first class, they were welcoming, attentive, friendly and professional, from the moment we arrived until we departed, as well fed diners.Giacomos is an hours drive from our home, but well worth it. The menu always has exciting options and the quality of the food is unbeatable. The wine selection is extensive and sensibly priced.Temperatures were taken upon arrival and Social Distancing was observed, yet managed to not interfere with our enjoyment of the evening.Tank you All for a Great Dining Experience.

Food 5 . COVID awareness 2. The food was excellent.Temperature taken on arrival and tables reasonably spaced. But COVID awareness stopped there. Cutlery and glasses were placed on table by bare hands. Glasses the same. Wine list passed to tables and reused . No face shields and waiters frequently lent into personal space. A bottle of water was opened poured and then the waiter continuously lent over to pick up the bottle and pour more. ( strangely it’s no longer possible to have a jug of tap water ). So usual good food but lack of COVID awareness means we won’t be back until this COVID problem is sorted out.

Our meal was very good but the evening was made by great service from a chap and Marianna - even the chef on his tour was charming. We had prawns, timbales and beef carpaccio for starters. Our mains were ravioli of the day, veals and a well-served liver. Plenty of puds to chose from and a good wine. Marianna suggested a wine from her local Puglia, it did not disappoint and she even found me fennel for my salad. Great evening.

So lovely to be able to go out and celebrate in style since lockdown. Our temperatures were checked at the door and we were shown to our table by attentive staff. I had Crab & Avocado and my husband had the Mussel for starters, both these dishes were delicious. For mains I had the Sea bass and he had the Veal. Again both beautifully cooked and presented. The restaurant was busy with a lovely buzz. Looking forward to booking again, but for dinner this time.

Nice to be able to eat here again since lockdown. Giacomos is open for lunch during the week and take away a few evenings. They are taking care to make you feel comfortable. Everyone’s temperature is taken on arrival and there are several hand sanitiser stations without spoiling the Giacomos hospitality.

Been to Giacomo’s several times and never been disappointed. Last week and tonight tried the takeaway service. I like cooking so like to think I am a relatively good judge of food and very often get disappointed eating out. Well I can tell you, this is the best take out food my husband and I have had. We even ordered extra to freeze to give me a night or two off in this isolation period. Definitely going back fir more, you are missing a treat if you don’t try. We ordered two sea bass, one lasagne and one beef stroganoff from Giacomo’s take away service and all dishes were amazing, well presented as a takeaway and as delicious as if we were eating in the restaurant. The only disappointment was we that we didn’t receive the superb waiter/waitress service and Giacomo’s exuberance and friendly attention during the meal. It’s a pity he couldn’t serve it to us in our home . Good job Giacomo.

We have just eaten the most delicious meal from Giacomos takeaway menu. A generous portion of an outstanding beef stroganoff with saffron rice. This was followed by a delicious panacotta with red berries. Great value for money. Well done Giacomo, we’ll be back soon!

We have been going to Giacomo,S for quite a few years ,alone when my husband and I first met ,then for family gatherings and celebrations, with relations visiting from Chicago and when we got married, on our wedding dayGiacomo and his team have always looked after us and the food has always been sublime. Hope we can return soon ,Kate and John V.

Some of the best Italian dining I’ve ever experienced - it really was an experience. The staff were amazingly welcoming and very passionate about the food they had prepared. Every little thing had been thought of, overall a really good place to spend a nice meal out at.

We visited for the first time with friends on a Friday night and we were all absolutely delighted! Fairly full but a nice little buzz about the place.Recommended as somewhere halfway between our homes we were greeted very warmly by the staff and that level of service continued throughout the evening.For starters we had a mozzarella and tomato salad and some prawns fried in batter with a chilli sauce. For main course three of us had the steak cooked with Gorgonzola and Rum and it was delicious. My wife had the king prawns and found them beautiful and quite filling.The dessert trolley looked very appetising but only one of us partook, thoroughly enjoying a lovely apple tart.Coffees and a reasonably priced bottle of Gavi washed the meal down well!This may have been our first visit but it won’t be our last

We have enjoyed enormously many meals at Giacomos. We consider the best in the South East. The food is consistently delicious and service excellent, polite and attentive. The Owner could not be more helpful, friendly and professional. Highly recommended.

We had a very special family and delicious birthday celebration for 13 of us at Giacomo’s yesterday. Giacomo and all his staff gave us all personal attention and especially our 3 small grandchildren. He went out of his way to ensure we had all the extras at our meal there was plentiful fresh vegetables and he cooked an individual meal for our toddler grandson. It was perfect in every way.

A special Birthday party when sixteen friends arrived to celebrate a good friend’s special day. A delightful evening spent with excellent food and staff who always seemed to be there but were never intrusive. They served the food so very efficiently which was presented beautifully. We had a private room which enabled privacy to celebrate our host’s birthday in a proper manner. The quality of food was so good and there was a good choice of food for all three courses. A most enjoyable evening where the staff were unobtrusive but always there when needed. Their starter was delicious, with great variety.

The best restaurant in the Sevenoaks area! I hosted a table of 7 friends and rellies and we had excellent and cheerful service. The food was, as always, perfectly prepared and cooked. Very accommodating and friendly staff and Giacomo is always very eager to please. He succeeds. Most enjoyable.

A party for circa 80 on a beautiful summer’s day served wonderfully prepared food and wine. Great service delivered quickly and effortlessly. A variety of wonderful dishes made a wonderful party in lovely surroundings.

Has been a while since our last attempt to eat here (they cancelled our booking at late notice, due to a holiday closure!!). Glad we tried again, the food was excellent, and the service very good. Not the most economical place to eat, but exceptional food for a special occasion.

Atmosphere has changed beyond belief since Daniella is no longer present.It was always such a joy to eat here in the past. We ate from the lunch menu for the first time and it was far removed from the usual high standard we had become accustomed to over the years dining here..The staffs English was very poor impacting on their ability to take our order no friendliness at all.Food was very disappointing too.

As welcoming as ever with a very good, balanced menu. Somewhat slow service which let it down a little but, having said that, the staff were friendly and obliging.

I had a recommendation from another restaurant to come here.Saturday lunch here was very pleasant indeed-interesting menu, great wine list I opted for crab to start- all fresh naturally- prawns to end. All excellent-good portions and well presented Definitely deserves a return visit soon!

Attended a friends birthday party at this great venue. The food was very very good and the attention from staff exceptional. We will be returning soon definately.

We’ve enjoyed meals here many times but our last was disappointing. There were insufficient staff and we felt neglected. We also think it’s time the menu was looked at as it’s remained unchanged for some time. Certainly more thought needs to be given to increasing the vegetarian choice. Giacomo’s is a good chef and it’s a shame to have had such an experience.

The restaurant made everyone very welcome with drinks served on the patio followed by a delicious lunch. The service was excellent and the venue buzzed with excited chatter. Lots of compliments on food and drink. I would recommend this venue to anyone.

Always love this restaurant. Food is delicious and Giacomo always very welcoming. This evening was no exception though I would have preferred a little less gravy with my veal liver

Dinner & music pre Christmas for a table of 8. Music fine, and food too, to be honest, but just not the "exceptional" it once was.

We love it here. Great authentic Italian food served with a smile and charm by Giacomo, Daniella & their staff. we have been many times and Giacomos never disappoints.

Very, very disappointing! Something ‘bad’ is happening here! We have been several times previously and had good meals and service but on this occasion it was terrible! We had booked a table for 9 guests for lunch to celebrate my Birthday, a special occasion! We were given 1.30pm and from the moment we arrived the service was appalling! We were virtually ignored and were constantly having to chase for everything. The food was almost thrown at us with no finesse! A £60 Chateaubriand for 2, not presented to us and then carved but just delivered to us already carved and covered in gravy! The menu also clearly states ‘our restaurant closes at 3.30pm to give our staff time for rest’. So needless to say we were rushed out at 3.30pm. Nobody seems to be now managing this establishment and the chef seemed to spend more time in the restaurant than he did the kitchen! It’s a great shame, because it completely ruined what should have been a great family occasion.

Giacomos’s is a family run authentic Italian restaurant, you won’t find your pizzas or run of the mill pasta here, it’s fine Italian dining .
