Gerrards Confectioners in Conwy

5th April 2024, we had a stopover in Llandudno on our way to Holyhead. After a walk along the promenade, we went and had lunch in Gerrards. It was brilliant. The service was excellent, and the staff were extremely friendly and happy. There is a nice happy atmosphere in the Tearoom. The food was excellent quality, and the service was so quick. We will certainly call again when is Llandudno. My wife had a toasted sandwich and I had a sausage and bacon Muffin both were very nice.

We were a group of four and super hungry. Pies and pastries looked lovely but we were told they were room temperature, when asked if they would heat them the lady said no it’s only room temperature. Surprised they didn’t have a pie warmer or at least offer to heat them up. Along with that serving meat at room temperature is slightly concerning. Highly suggest offering to heat customers pasties or investing in a pie warmer. There’s more bakeries down the road that do have hot pasties thankfully.

Stopped for a cuppa and a sausage roll and steak slice,was nice, lot's to choose from and lovely fresh cream cakes.

Nice little tea rooms. Be aware that there is much more seating than you can see from looking in the window. If you're a regular ask for a loyalty card. Look out for the combination deals that they have.

Go there quite often and always nice staff and good cakes

I went to this placec for a quick bite and a drink ,but I was disappointed with my toasted tea cakes as they were undercooked and not very warm .

Always call in here when in Llandudno lovely bakery with cafe and the food is lovely and the price reasonable. Highly recommended.

Best toastie we've had in a long time and excellent deal with a drink. Lovely caring and considerate staff really looked after an elderly gentleman. Will definately return when back in llandudno ☕️🍰 xx

Staff were very nice but not a good experience at all. A glass of squash, cup of tea, filter coffee and 3 shortbread biscuits cost £16....we are local and have been to every cafe and coffee shop there is, this is by far the most expensive. We usually pay around £12 anywhere else. We arrived at 3:50pm and my husband asked when they close and the lady was very nice but said everyone has to be out by 4:30pm for a 5pm close. I understand there is alot of work to be done to clean up and close up for the night but Gerrards, pay your your staff until 5:30pm so that you can close for 5pm but not miss out on half an hour of takings! 6 customers were turned away between 4:15pm and 4:30pm and customers sat down were asked to leave wether they'd finished or not. Having staff in fear like that isn't good for them or your business.

Excellent place to stop off for a break with a hot drink and a great selection of cakes and snacks. Would certainly recommend.

So pleased to be introduced to this place by relative. What a gem in Llandudno after climbing the Great Orm on freezing Saturday morning with my boys. Great selection of warm and cold sandwiches, pie's, panini's. Vanilla slice like the one's I've had as a kid. Gerrards is one of those places you can't miss while visiting Llandudno. Welcoming, helpful and polite staff makes the experience even better.

Very reasonably priced but could do with a larger menu Very comfortable inside and great service off season anyway.

Top quality products at decent prices including hot and cold snacks, pleasant staff, quick service, clean, toilets available.

It was quite busy,but staff were very helpful. We had cheese on toast it was very nice.

A nice cafe, great range of cakes and pastries. Lots of seating well spaced. Order at till and table service. Reasonable prices. Quality produce. Lovely stop off for lunch or snacks when on a day out or shopping. Toilet at back of cafe downstairs or upstairs were clean.

Staff very unpleasant a long wait for food to appear because of staff shortage of which the on duty staff made all customers aware off mon.mon don't need this when having a break from shopping

Mondays are.... limited menu day! Literally half the menu items weren't available. No toasties or sandwiches.... only one veggie option. But...Good chips! Other than that.... think Greg's....

Got a great deal here Pie and chips for just over a fiver. The cakes looked great and the staff were really friendly if you are in llandudno make sure you pop in

Excellent service, even though staff rushed off their feet. Well worth a visit for a cuppa.

I used to love their pasties but for some reason just dont look that great anymore & always cold. They used to have a lovely glaze on the top but they dont anymore. Always very short staffed too, when you only have half our break & have stand in a queue for 10mins its not good...

Tea/coffee shop, traditional, good for light bites.

Sat waiting to be served, totally ignored by staff who wouldn't even look in our direction so left after 10 minutes of this bad service.

It was lovely to walk about, all safety precautions taken lovely bookshop.

Bit disappointed this year as wanted to sit in comfy chairs and staff said they couldn't clean table off and we had to sit where was already cleaned which seats were uncomfortable. Husband was disabled. Was going to have sausage roll but they were burnt and so were most of the parties.

Me and my husband went in and were told to sit down and they would come and take our order. Some people who came in after us had their order took and received their drinks before we even had our order took. After waiting ages and the woman constantly walking past and ignoring us, we walked out and she just watched us go. Terrible service definitely won’t be going back.

Hand sanitiser was available on entry but not convince a deep clean prior to opening and will follow thorough cleaning procedures throughout each day tostie was tasless toilet was dirty

Where do I start . The waitress was so rude it was untrue, they hadn’t got a lot on the menu and this was lunchtime . We ordered a chicken and bacon toastie and toast , a latte and strawberry milkshake . The milkshake was warm and powdered shake mix . The toast was so thick and swimming in margarine and the toastie was inedible . The waitress was slamming crocks and glasses . It was an awful atmosphere . There are much nicer places to eat . Walk past this one

The bara brith we bought was dry and hard. It must have been in the sunny window for some time. Not ideal for storing food, especially bread which is prone to drying out. We bought 2 - one for us and one was a gift for someone but we didn't give them theirs. Inedible!

Sausage roll and coffee was lovely and my better halfs chocolate was very nice too. Unfortunately the staff were grumpy shame really. So won't be going back there.

Absolutely rubbish, very poor service, I know where living with covid 19 but no instructions off the staff where to sit, waited 15 minutes for a soggy wet menu that I had to get myself after staff said they would get me one. Decided to leave without ordering after watching 2 lots of other customers leaving without ordering. Would not reccomend this place to anyone.

Sorry to write this but rude member of staff was spoken down to like a child by her rude no manners giving me a lecture on how they have to sanitise all crockery seats tables and not to come to till they come to you yes I move pots hold my hand up but omg lecture in front of customers so after loyal custom for many years no longer will we go in there again.

A nices plices too have a cup off tea or coffee & meal.

Today me, my friend and my 9 month old son went in to buy a drink and a cookie for a sit down and a catch up. We got to the till and asked for 2 drinks and a cookie. We then asked to pay for the drinks separately. The woman rolled her eyes, tutted and said "uh let me cancel that then." After we paid we walked over to the table and sat down. The same woman came over and said " you cant sit there because you ordered takeaway drinks" so we were asked to leave. She then said "if you wanted to sit in you should of paid VAT" which was fair enough. If she would of asked us if we wanted to sit in I would of happily paid more but we didnt have any understanding as it was our first Time here and no indication you weren't welcome inside If you ordered from the counter. We were spoke to like rubbish and made to feel so uncomfortable and not welcome. We then had to sit on a bench outside even though we paid over the odds for a drink in a place we weren't welcome in. I think the staff should have a better attitude and welcoming to the public! All we wanted was a sit down and a drink and the woman made me feel awful. Definitely will not be going here ever again, and wouldn't recommend this place to anyone!! Very very unhappy !!

Had coffee and toast here again this morning and as usual it was lovely .

Lovely service from some very pleasant ladies but let down by poorly prepped and cooked food. Cheese on toast was a huge thick wedge of bread that had scarcely seen the grill, loads of OK quality cheese, slightly melted on top but just cold, raw grated cheese underneath. Not enjoyable at all, in their favour the coffee and peppermint tea were fine.

Pleasant traditional baker's shop and cafe

My friend and myself thought we would like a spot of pre-christmas lunch. We sat at a table for 10 minutes, nothing. My friend went to the counter and asked do we order here, "yes", fair enough. We both went to the counter, same lady, my friend said to her "can we order a toastie and ........", woman walked off without a word and started shuffling cakes in the main shop. So rude. We walked out and found a lovely tea room where we were welcomed and looked after well.

These people make the best custard tarts ever. Their pastry is the nicest I've ever had from a shop/cafe.

We fancied a cuppa around lunch time and I know that cakes here are lovely so we popped in to have another. We decided to try the hot chocolate and with that i had the Chelsea bun and the girlfriend tried the Viennese mince cream cake. Wow, the hot chocolate was the best ever and the cakes were Fabulous ❤ Definitely must pop in to try the cakes

Came here for snack and hot drinks. Good friendly service. Delicious food especially the cakes. Comfortable seating and very clean.Would recommend.

Excellent cakes and savouries , cafe good coffee and the toast is exceptional £3.50 for a doorstep slice of toast with plenty of butter and a coffee or tea a bargain.

Stopped in on a cold day for a warm coffee and sausage roll.staff were great very pleasant and food was lovely.as for these people who say can’t eat take away food in the seated area.no where would let you do that and you would have to pay vat to sit in muppets.

Absolute rip off. Ordered scones which were removed from a sealed plastic bag and sold to us for £2 each. I have never seen scones that small before! It looks like a quality bakery, but is far from it.

Just popped in when passing and bought 2 franjipan tarts to takeout . Got them home hoping to enjoy cake and coffee, tart were stale as anything would have taken them back if we had been nearer.

Visited here yesterday to get a snack and to feed our 6 month old his bottle. Was told on numerous occasions that we were not allowed to eat take away food in the shop. There are no signs to state this and we wasn’t even offered the option to eat in anyway or if my partners quiche wanted to be warmed up. I felt like a child being told of by there parents. Never will visit again!!!

Lady who served us was bit grumpy but sandwiches and cakes were ok.

Lovely tea room. Had a lovely lunch there reasonable prices and good service.

Wales does the best bakeries (sorry Greggs), fresh and delicious everytime. Could do with accepting card payments, but I'll happily go a cash machine so I can buy some cheese twists.
