Georgie's Canal Cruises in South Staffordshire

Our large family party of very mixed ages celebrated my 70th birthday with a wonderful afternoon tea cruise. Due to bereavement the event, planned for last April, had to be postponed for a year. The staff of Georgie's were exceptionally understanding and helpful and extremely nice to deal with and this general tone was reflected in all aspects of the planning and execution of the day. The staff on board were very friendly and efficient, and anxious to help in any way possible. They were also very tolerant of small children in their way! The boat was really attractive with beautifully laid tables, each with vases of fresh daffodils and tea lights, and the tea itself was generous and delicious. I could not fault the service and would thoroughly recommend Georgie's Canal Cruises.

Had afternoon tea trip this afternoon. Everything was first class from beginning to end really well organised with parking etc. Staff extremely friendly. Barge decorated beautifully and nice and warm. Food top notch. Tea/coffee unlimited top-ups.licensed bar on board. Definitely be returning. 😍

What a fabulous find! Jess and her team could not do enough for us. Lovely afternoon tea with a selection of sandwiches and treats. The boat was lovely and warm, very pretty, and a well stocked bar. Had a nice little ride up and down the canal, watching the wildlife and scenery as we went. Highly recommended.

We have done both the Sunday lunch and afternoon tea on this barge. It is brilliant. Highly recommended. You have a nice 2 hour canal trip whilst being waited on the whole time. The food is lovely, and a good selection of both soft and alcohol plus hot drinks. We are looking at booking another trip for another of the amazing themes they do.

Had a nightmare getting here due to an unpublisized Penkridge Christmas Market. We arrived more or less on time but the staff here were wonderful waiting for our party even stopping after 1 lock to pick up the remaining 2 of our party . Food was great several of our party were surprised that it was served nicely on platters and not in boxs. Coffee not the best but drinkable and they did have oat milk 👍 Person who organised our party said they are not the best at answering the phone.

Brilliant afternoon tea and two hour trip up the canal and back. Staff were all fantastic and highly professional with great customer service. Overall a fantastic experience many thanks to the team.

Due to a Victorian Extravaganza at Penkridge Market many of us were caught up in horrendous traffic jams. The crew were so good to wait beyond the sail time for three of our group and a lady from another party on board. Thankfully everyone finally got on board. The service from the staff, both on board and the sailing, went way above and beyond anything we expected. Nothing was too much trouble for them and the afternoontea was absolutely delicious. 15 of us from a local walking group had a lovely afternoon tea canal cruise with Georgies Canal cruises today. The staff were so helpful even waiting for some of our party who were delayed by market traffic. The barge was decorated for Christmas and the food and drink was plentiful - highly recommend the company.

A great idea for somewhere different to take your favourite person or people for a meal or birthday do. We were invited to a birthday surprise on a Sunday afternoon for lunch. Normal tables and chairs are set out with enough room to sit comfortably. Big windows to look out and a journey down the canal for about an hour each way was plenty of time for dinner, a pudding and coffee. A decent bar on board and a toilet for those in need. Probably not the best views of the countryside but interesting enough, especially through the two locks if you haven't done it before. A few minor bit of rocking when you get on, but soon get used to it. Staff were really friendly. Overall it was a great little trip and good food. Will definitely do it again if the right situation comes up in the near future.

Absolutely loved this. Something completely different. Great food, great atmosphere and a great day out. We had pie and mash and was absolutely gorgeous. Piping hot food. 👌 Bar was fully stacked. We had a pot of tea, then a cpl of peroni beers and a orange soft drink for my wife. Definitely doing this again.

My daughter had her wedding on the boat. Drinks available on arrival. The ceremony took place on the boat and then a beautiful afternoon tea and trip up the canal. It was the most beautiful day and the staff were wonderful I would highly recommend it was so private and wonderful to enjoy the day with friends. So different but absolutely magical. Thank you so much. It is a day I will never forget

Absolutely loved our fish &chips cruise. From start to finish the staff very welcoming and helpful. Five star staff. Was a little worried about mom getting onto boat due to her disability, but staff helped me and mom felt safe. The food was delicious and hot and pudding yummy. They had plenty of choices for drinks. Loved the tonic water and best make fever tree. Parking was easy and right close to the boat. We are definitely planning another trip maybe the mash and pie one or an evening one. Anyone thinking about trying Gerogies Canal trips, would say definitely recommend. Mom was delighted with her 80th birthday gift from her best friends.

I'm writing this review as I've emailed them twice and had no reply was with my friend for the beauty and the beast afternoon tea well I'm sorry but I don't think what we had was value for money I'm not sure how they justify paying £60 was worth what we were given to eat when u pay less to have fish chips and musy peas which in my eyes I thought would work out more I'm sorry but I don't think it's very good for business when they can't even be bothered to answer my email I have been for a fish and chip supper on there cruise and couldn't fault it but I'm sorry afternoon tea was a big disappointment and because they couldn't be bothered to answer my email I will not be recommended them to our customers I'm going to attach a photo so u can all see just remember what's on the plate is for two people

We have been on the Sunday Lunch Cruise and what an absolutely fantastic experience. The food was amazing and the staff were friendly, efficient and attentive. Nothing was too much trouble. There was a great choice of drinks, all very reasonably priced. The food was cooked to perfection. I would highly recommend this excursion to anyone looking for a relaxing way to spend a Sunday afternoon. We will most definitely be back.

Evening pizza & prosecco cruise which was booked as a surprise by my husband for my birthday. We were a party of 11 and we had a great evening. Staff went above and beyond in their service. Fabulous food, unlimited prosecco, nothing too much trouble. We were so pleased with the whole experience and would recommend them

We had most amazing early evening meal on board to celebrate my husband 70s birthday. Everything was so well organised, beautifully presented and serviced by polite and extremely helpful staff. An outstanding outing for families; the grandkids loved it and beautiful canal's scenery on a really sunny evening. Thank you.

What a brilliant day! Today we hired Jess’s day boat to celebrate 4 friends 60th birthdays! We were lucky to be given the opportunity to take the Yardam out! With a little instruction, we were guided out from Gailey and had an uneventful days boating. We reached The anchor for drinks and had afternoon tea prepared by Jess, which was delightful! Our day went completely to plan and was enjoyed by us all. Thank you Jess……. We’ll be back x

Excellent service and food on a very relaxing cruise

Booked this afternoon tea treat for myself and my daughter and we had such a wonderful time. The barge was spotlessly clean and tables laid with china crockery. The staff were all very welcoming and attentive. The cruise lasted 2 hours and the afternoon tea was served straight away as we made our way through 2 locks and peaceful waters. The afternoon tea was perfect and each mouthful delicious. All in all a fabulous trip out and I would highly recommend it. I’m looking forward to my next trip!

Absolute joke. Booked well in advance for the valentine's afternoon tea. Paid the deposit straight way. The day of the cruise I get an email saying they had cancelled because they was unable to contact me. They called me 3 times and a left a message asking to confirm. Both me and my partner rang them over 30 times in the week and couldn't get through. We ended up driving down there to be told that they hadn't wrote down that our deposit was paid. (Even though we had confirmation email of it being paid) All the woman had to say was we can try to squeeze you on. This is was not acceptable and we requested a full refund.

Husband booked a mid day cruise with fish and chips. It was so relaxing to just travel along the canal and back. The food was delicious. It came with mushy peas and bread and butter. Proper dish! We ordered the pudding as extra and a glass of fizz too as they have a bar on board, it was my birthday so why not!

Santa Cruise Our Party had the whole boat for a santa cruise on Saturday which was brilliant!!! Emma made the whole process easy, from us booking to upgrading breakfasts. The continental option was a big hit with my youngest son, lots of choice with fruit and pastries, that much we took some home. The full English was lovely hot and very filling. The girls on board where on the ball and had tables cleared quickly. And as for santa and his elf, they where brilliant, the look on the kids faces was priceless. A huge thank you to Emma for organising such a wonderful morning for us all ....

We hired a day boat and had a fantastic time! Greeted by a warm and friendly welcome, the boat was well equipped and really clean. The run through of how to use the boat was thorough, clear and again really friendly. We had the afternoon tea - really well presented and great value for money! Would thoroughly recommend this whole experience and company! Can’t wait to do it again!

Lovely afternoon tea. I had the gentleman's, wife had the standard. Both were superb. The two young ladies taking care of us on the boat could not have been more polite. The whole trip / lunch was absolutely worth it. Thinking of trying the Friday evening fish and chip trip soon. We'll done to all involved.

What a thoroughly friendly company, nothing too much trouble and an impeccable boat, we took a last minute day boat to Tixall and back yesterday and had a great time. Even as picky experienced boaters we found little to fault. See you again soon guys.

Hired a day boat. Lovely people, well equipped boat, patient and friendly advice. The canal was beautiful and peaceful, only encountering a handful of other boats all day. The canal could do with being dredged as we ran aground a few times, but that's the canal's fault , not Georgie's. Had a super day.

It's not that I expected to be guaranteed the cruise - it says so above, but a call / email would have helped us plan our trip better.

We were the first to take the new holiday boat out and what a fantastic boat it is. The yardman is 60ft cruiser with all mod cons fitted out by Aqualine. Great time on the Staffs and Worcester canal

Good service, nice people enjoyed an interesting day on the Canal.

I booked 3 afternoon teas for collection, a traditional, a gentleman's and a children's and they were all wonderful. Not only was the food delicious, it was affordable, came well presented and you got a great range of food too. The staff were friendly and approachable. The location is nice too, situated next to the Park Gate lock, it's a perfect opportunity for a walk along the canal.

This barge was easily the best I have been on. Bright and open feeling. Heated with a great layout. The service was brilliant, an endless supply of coffee. The trip was 2 hours long and very relaxing. I will be booking another trip for later in the year. UPDATE 16/10/20 had another brilliant trip. Fish and Chip supper so evening time. The food was fantastic quality. Staff looked after us well, Covid secure, well spaced. I really like these cruises. Very relaxing. 😊👍

Well what can I say I won a voucher in a hamper for Birmingham children's hospital because of covid we had it delivered instead incredibly friendly and soo helpful and the food was amazing i will definitely be using these again we had leftovers as there was so much thank you soo much
