We had such a great brunch here, it was so reasonably priced and we were continually popped up with our bottomless drinking. A special thanks to Hennon because two of the girls chose beer and could only drink two of them, so he gave us takeaway cups for the third! Overall a great hen do brunch, my only tip would be to ask for the siracha sauce on the side if you go for the chicken waffle as there was a lot!

Friendly staff, delicious cake and a relaxed atmosphere. We were struggling to find anywhere open for afternoon tea in Oxford at 4 pm …GSS came to the rescue. We will be back for breakfast soon!

We chose this spot due to the late morning availability time frame and proximity to the bus station before our departure at Oxford and while the food was mediocre, the service was fine and it checked the box on the convenience factor. We tried different variations of the Eggs Benedict, from traditional to Florentine (spinach) to Salmon, and they were all well presented but underwhelming in terms of flavor. Our server was humorous (or at least he thought so!) and was engaged and helpful throughout our meal.

Funny and kind gentleman served us (owner?). I ordered eggs Florentine snd wanted to love it, but the sourdough was so tough I couldn’t even cut it with a steak knife. The gentleman said it’s homemade. I don’t know what to say about this, other than I would pass on the bread. The eggs and sauce were lukewarm, but ok. He accommodated a fruit bowl request (off menu) for my kid. I appreciated that, although some of the berries were mushy. I don’t think I’d return.

1st time visit for me. Lovely atmosphere. Great music. Good location and reasonable prices. Food was excellent, but huge portions. Would visit again.❤

Only stopped for some after Theatre cocktails. Lovely staff and a nice chilled atmosphere. It was fairly quiet but it was midweek late afternoon, would definitely return.

A nice place to get some drinks. It wasn't too busy on a Saturday evening and we found a table for a large group of us.

Had an amazing lunch here, the food was excellent. I was grateful to have arrived early for lunch, as people were being turned away once I was sat down!

Busy brunch focused restaurant. The food is tasty and generous and a real plus. Atmosphere wise it's busy, especially on Saturday morning. Service was good but it's noticeable that tables are busy (1h limit) and staff are rushing from place to place (and the set up is very crowded). Worth booking ahead (though there's a fee that comes with the booking). It's not a very personalised experience but it is good food.

Cake was awesome... However they gave us cow's milk when we asked for oat. When we kindly asked to have them replaced, they made no apology and actively ignored us.

Visited on a late Saturday morning for brunch with friends. We didn’t book so had to wait for a table but that wasn’t a problem. The coffee was lovely but my bacon pancakes were pretty average, I would get them again. The fruit pancakes looked better but overall they weren’t fluffy like I was expecting.

Had breakfast here: best coffee in town and very nice pancakes. Good atmosphere and waiters who are friendly and notice everything.

The staff is so sweet. He tops up with extra milk to fill the coffee as ice cubes have removed.☕️🤍

We had the best drink after visiting the theatre, Andreas was our host and he was wonderful. He took excellent care of our every need, including bringing our 5 year old colouring things, as well as with entertaining chat without being overbearing. I would say this is one of the best central Oxford hang outs for any situation.

Liked service, but that's it. Dirty toilets, moulds and spider webs in the corners. Makaroni cheese was too oily, eggs benedict bread was too tough to cut with knive, eat with hands too messy.

We went for brunch. He menu was alright for the food, the salmon was slightly saltier than I like, the cranberry juice was nice and the servers were amazing. Great atmosphere for catching up with friends or hanging out with the family

Came here with my partner and her friend to try out the food. First time of me ordering macaroni and cheese and I wasn't disappointed. I ordered a side portion of chips as well and they tasted great. As always if there is apple juice on the menu, I will get me some apple juice. Overall, it was a smooth experience and the atmosphere was great too.

We had our office Christmas party bottomless brunch there yesterday. What a fabulous day. The food and service were second to none and our glasses were topped up as soon as we had taken a few sips. The lovely manager was charm and sweetness herself. If I could give it ten stars I would. And excellent value for money too. Will defo be booking for next year

Mediocre food and service! Ordered the vegetable shakshuka and they said they wouldn't be able to do the eggs soft. I was told it's going to be hard-cooked but they tried and got it mostly cooked but not too hard. The taste itself wasn't great! My friend's pancakes portion size seemed way too small but the berries were tasty. Chicken and Waffles were also just alright - not bad not great! Will skip this place and go back to Oxford brunch bar next time!

Great brunch! I had vegetarian shakshuka, which was so good with a big portion. Recommended to book in advance if you would like to have a brunch on weekend.

Friendly staff with good diner-type menu but with variety to cover meals and snacks at all times of day. We did have a certain delay on simple order but the standard ofcservice is such that they apologised profusely even without my mentioning it.

Overall the food was average. I've had better and I've had worse. The sourdough was nice and the eggs were cooked well. The avocado was nice and zesty however a bit pricey at £3. The so called ham hock was just some supermarket ham rolled up and stuck in top. As for the pancakes they were quite stale and not very enjoyable as they were very flat. The portions were a little small which was a bit underwhelming. The coffee was much nicer (latte and cappuccino) however only a little warmer than lukewarm so it had to be drunk hastily. The servers were nice and did well to accommodate us even in busy conditions, and the atmosphere was loud but enjoyable. Overall I would avoid brunch, and maybe try out the lunch menu. The service is nice so you will feel accommodated too.

The atmosphere was quite loud but I didn't mind it as a whole. We ordered the Berry american pancakes and eggs benedict, my pancakes were very flat and I couldn't tell if they were store bought or not to be honest, you could could get fluffier pancakes from sainsburys... It tasted alright but not amazing and wasn't warm. The benedict was nicer but again not much to it to be honest. We also got a cappuccino and a latte both of which were really tasty, I would recommend the coffee here however wish I could say the same for the food.

George Street Social has a lovely atmosphere, and is well staffed. I had a great chai latte and they didn’t charge for plant based milk. However, I went there for brunch and the food itself was disappointing. I had the Vegetable Shakshuka and unfortunately it was super bland. It was a tomato base, with peppers, onions, aubergine, eggs and goats cheese. I wouldn’t be surprised if there was no seasoning in the entire dish because the only flavors were overpowering tomato and goats cheese. The aubergine was cut in large chunks and was bitter. The eggs on top were overcooked and dry. I can’t speak for the rest of the menu but based on this meal I won’t be going back.

Happened upon this gem when visiting Oxford and felt like a lazy brunch. The interior is nicely decorated - quirky/bohemian and spacious while still managing to be very intimate, warm and welcoming. Of course this was helped by the lovely staff. Both the manager receiving us and our waitress were very welcoming and personable. The food we ordered was amazing. The Vegetable Shakshura (happiness on a plate) and a Baba Ganoush/Hoummus anti-pasti sharing platter were both nothing short of superb. The only gripe I have was that we both got full before being able to finish it all. Hope to visit soon again when I am back and couldn't recommend it more.

Went to pay by card, wasn’t shown a bill or the price, when questioned I had been charged £18.95 for 2 drinks, the arrogance of the outrageous waiter was unbelievable. If you like being ripped off! This is the place for you, no surprise it was dead on a Friday night Update ! Had a message on Google asking to contact the management, call 4 times and emailed twice ! Nothing, seems the management are in on this scam.

My friends and I stopped by here for a brief sit-down over coffee/tea. I've never had mojito mint tea before, and it was superb! Overall, it has a clean and friendly atmosphere.

Pleasant and welcoming at the door. Staff somewhat disinterested upstairs. On a Thursday a two cocktails for £10 promo is advertised but if you use the app, as one is encouraged to (where in the app it confusingly says Thursday is 2 for 1 cocktails) it charges you full price. That being said food was good and tasty and cocktails were nice even if the offer was not applied.

We went with friends yesterday for bottomless brunch and it really was bottomless! Never have I ever been to a venue with such attentive staff. Our glasses were never empty! Food was of a good standard too! Very enjoyable few hours. Will definitely be returning! Thank you

We really enjoying this place! We try most of the cocktails that was actually really good and in Balance.! I want to mention and that they have a great collection of wine and that the waiters did great job in to explain origin of the wine textures etc. Looking forward for the food menu to try next time.

Lost a set of very important keys, an earring and a ring - I suspect at this venue. It would be great to confirm this with George St but they never answer their phone!I visited in person to inquire but I was instantly met with a no from a member behind the bar who didn't even bother checking.I've also reached out over social media with no success, so although I did initially enjoy my visit, the experience has been ruined through their lack of customer service hence the 1 star

Nice place to eat or drink. Been there for my breakfast and was happy to see the menu. There’s a lot of variety n options for u to eat. That was a good start of the day.

We started off our bottomless brunch with slow service and waited 20 minutes for a drink. We spoke to Rubio and following that he was ever so attentive, our drinks dropped an inch and he was back to us. Exactly what we’d hoped for and such a lovely, kind and friendly personality, would definitely go back he deserves a raise

An interesting experience at George Street Social. My party and I were so excited to visit this brunch spot during our weekend away in Oxford. We ordered via the app, which was a mistake. Half the food came before the drinks which was frustrating. When the rest of the food arrived, one dish was missing for around 20 minutes. We realized that the order had not gone through the app. There was no notification from the app or information from servers to say the order had not been received. These complications weren't met with the best customer service. The eggs Benedict looked fantastic, however the eggs were over cooked and the hollandaise was cold. Despite this it was still a nice meal. My friends ordered smashed avo on toast and loved it. My advice would be to order through your server and not the app, to avoid any complications. If you like your eggs runny, definitely let them know to avoid any solid yolk disappointments. Overall, it was an okay experience.

Had an English breakfast with Smashed avocado, toasted seeds, rapeseed oil, cherry tomatoes & dukkah on toast (pb)( poached egg ) yesterday. Their service is amazing. I love the way the manager handle everything. They seem have a passion and excellent service. I definitely put 10/10! Plus, i no need to wait long for my food coming. The food was super tasteful! No wonder if lot of guests gave 5 stars to this place! Thank you! Would love to back If i had a chance! (fia-indonesia)

First time in this place, with a menu ideal for everyone, I've ordered some avocado and toast, which was ok, just the flavour of spring onion was to strong and I think they've put also lemon juice! The staff is good and the place is beautiful! Good to have a visit!

Before I go any further, I will say that I would have given 3.5 stars for this review if I could have. It actually was a pleasant experience to visit here, great vibe & attentive service despite it being packed out. The hot drinks we had were all on point, however 3 of the 5 meals our party had were disappointing. Two of us had the pancakes with bacon & maple syrup, however as you can see from the photo there was simply way too much syrup on the plate. Even for those sweet-toothed youngsters it was simply far too sweet & sickly. A suggestion would be to serve the syrup on the side so that it can be added to individual taste. I myself had the chorizo shakshouka. Although the dish itself was filling & tasty, the eggs were completely hard with no runny yolks at all. Also I would expect for the price that fresh grilled tomatoes rather than tinned tomatoes would have been used. I hope these suggestions are taken in the spirit they are meant - I certainly wouldn't be put off coming again

We popped in while away in Oxford for a drink and a grazing board. Med platter was really good, drinks great and the guy who I think was running it was so friendly and chatty. We said we'd love to pop back for a brunch at some point, bet it would be fab.

Great vibe, buzzing on the inside. Food options were good. Shakshuka left a lot to be desired sadly (especially without runny yolks, and HUGE pieces of feta and chorizo, rather than smaller pieces) but would go back to try other things.

We popped in for a coffee having passed but never gone in to this unusual ' social '. There were people eating , drinks of all descriptions but we just enjoyed our coffee , the good service , friendly and welcoming , and the unusual quirky decor . On two levels there's plenty of room , masks were worn by staff although tables are rather close together . the toilets could do with an upgrade but were clean enough ( upstairs)

Did lunch here to celebrate my daughter's birthday. Felt quite studenty, but with student prices and plenty of food and lots of Oxford charm. Would definitely visit again, but try something off the breakfast menu 🙂

Found this cool dog friendly place to eat when we were in Oxford. The decor is really cool and the upstairs is huge with lots of seating! Food was good too!

We popped in for a quick coffee and really enjoyed the decor and ambience in this quirky cafe. We sat downstairs, which was quieter, but upstairs was nicely busy with a good atmosphere. Good coffees and friendly service.

Relaxed, welcoming place with good food and drinks menu

What we ordered: Avocado on toast, with poached egg and bacon. Shakshuka with tomato, peas, spinach, edamame and feta. PROS: 1) Very chilled out setting with comfortable seating. 2) Very friendly staff. We were greeted by a man who I assume to be either manager or owner. He was so welcoming and made us feel at home right away, even though this was our first time visiting. The other waiter who served us was lovely too. He gave us updates on when our food would be ready and said that if we needed any extra bread for the shakshuka then to just let him know. 3) The avocado was fresh and delicious. It was flavoured perfectly with lemon and chilli. It wasn't too mushy, and wasn't too hard. It was also a very generous portion. 4) The bacon was amazing. It was an extra £1 to add to my avo on toast, and it was so worth it. I'm not usually a fan of thicker bacon, I tend to prefer thin and crispy. But this bacon was very thick, and I already want to go back for more. They must have an excellent producer. CONS:1) Unfortunately the baked eggs in the shakshuka were very over cooked, which meant there was no runny yolk to dip the bread into, which is one of the best parts of shakshuka in my opinion. 2) The portion sizes are almost too generous - especially in comparison to the size of the plates. Avocado was literally overflowing from my plate, and it ended up being a bit of a mess.3) Although both of our coffees were very tasty, my cappuccino wasn't really a cappuccino. It was served to be in a tall glass, had no where near enough foam for a cappuccino, and had no chocolate powder sprinkled on top. It was nice, but not what I was wanting at the time. Would I go again? Yes. They have a lot of competition nearby when it comes to breakfast, so they may need to up their game a little in order to take over the other places, but I think that's possible & can definitely see myself going back one day - even if it's just for a drink within the friendly atmosphere.

5 stars for customer service and environment. So chill and friendly, lotsa windows, just a comfy spot. Americano was also really nice and the decaf Americano also quite nice.

We had booked to go for brunch on a Thursday morning, seated quickly and orders taken swiftly. Drinks and food came quickly too, a little too quick maybe, but no complaints. The food was delicious, a little pricey but the presentation is all a part of the price you pay! So yummy food. And the pancakes we got to share were amazing and the yummiest and fluffiest! Bacon and maple syrup on top was to die for. Coffees were a little watery, we’d had nicer ones in other coffee shops in Oxford but didn’t put a downer on our experience. Would definitely be back next time

Visited this place on a busy Saturday night after being turned away from several other eateries in the vicinity. We were due at a concert at 8pm and by this rime it was 6.30.The manager said he would get us in and when we told him about the concert at 8 he assured us he would get usout by then The place was very busy but he found us a table for 2. We ordered a burger and salmon fishcakes plus drinks Although busy we received our food in a timely manner,and it was obvious that it had been freshly cooked. Both meals were delicious.True to his word, we made it to our concert in plenty if time.The menu is varied and from what we saw of the other food coming out of the kitchen,is well presented and good portion size.Yes it was very busy but at no time did we feel pressured or rushed and the food was freshly prepared not simply reheated. All of the staff were friendly and welcoming unlike the several venues we visited beforehand.Would definately recommend that you give this place a try whenyou are in Oxford.Thankyou Gearge Street Social for making our evening a pleasant one!

This place was recommended to us and thought we'd give it a try for brunch last Sunday. Really wish we hadn't. Arrived at 11am and was taken upstairs. The place was rammed ,like really busy. Seats were tight and felt cramped . Eating area was hot and stuffy and we were unable to open a window. No mask wearing by waiting staff and the girl who took our order continually leaned over us and had to be told to stand away. Ordered simple egg, bacon and toast. When the meals arrived at the table we were 1 short and had to reorder. The toast was soggy. Not the best experience.
